LD38 — A Small World

Space Balls by Dejvo 2017-05-09T23:19:54Z

Your attention to detail is very nice. Shaders, trails, particles...it's the small things that count! The difficulty curve could be tweaked and for the time you had, the graphics will do (however, I would love to see some polish). Overall I had quite a unique experience. Keep it up!

Abaddon by Geckoo1337 2017-05-09T23:28:55Z

I rated this very high because well..you deserve it. This takes me back to the days of playing Hexen on my fathers computer and I have had an itch to play a game like that for a long time; unfortunately, it hasn't happened but I'm so glad I got to experience this. This game hit me in the feels so hard especially with the atmosphere. Please continue developing this. I would actually probably buy this.

Candy Cave Quest by ashtheevil 2017-05-09T23:17:32Z

I love the way you integrate the graphics and gameplay as if it were a story. It takes me back to when I was a child and played these kinds of story games on my fathers computer. It's nice to be able to take a break from shooting stuff and get to sit down and relax and play something like this. There's polishing to be done, but what you have here it's actually amazing and impressive considering the time constraints of this jam. Keep it up! If this ever released as a full game I would play!

Food Fight by nick.bota 2017-05-11T05:32:23Z

Definitely love the concept and the animations are very nice as well. If the jumping and movement was a little more refined this would make for an awesome game. Would love to play more levels and maybe have like a puzzle aspect or something. Great entry!!!!

Pity About Earth... by mwcz 2017-05-09T22:55:05Z

Simple, but fun. I enjoy the one control scheme. The detail on the asteroids when they get hit reminded me of playing classic arcade games. Music was properly executed. I don't really have any gripes about it just expand and polish the animations and UI and I could see this being a success on the right markey. You should expand on this and release a full game. What you have here would be great as a full game or a mobile game. Congrats and keep it up!

Until Tomorrow by MSiddeek 2017-05-17T23:49:52Z

There's a certain mood going on in this game that I like. It isn't fully developed, but parts of your game continued to keep my interested. Some of the assets are very nice and I would like to see this further developed as it has the makings for what could be a great rpg-esque experience. Keep it up!

Petit Adventure by Sun-Wukong 2017-05-14T01:17:07Z

Definitely took me back to when times were simpler, and I don't mean that in a bad way. The music, the graphics, the gameplay, all finely tuned to co exist with each other. Yeah, it could be polished, but the core mechanics really took me back to early Final Fantasy, Zelda, Dragonfable, Bomber Man. Keep it up!

Come on, barbarian! by uchiro 2017-05-09T23:07:55Z

Just what I needed after a long day at work. For the timespan that you had to create this, I am impressed. I was already laughing within the first 10 seconds of the game. I found the controls to be more funny than troublesome- maybe because they are puppets and that's how they're supposed to move...but you made it work! Might need some small polish here and there but this would be amazing if further development went into it. Definitely one of my favorite games so far. Keep it up!

The Four Tribes by yoanndeplo 2017-05-09T23:02:37Z

I had to borrow a PC to play this and it was very interesting. I love the strategy aspect of it! I suck but I enjoy the learning curve to it! Would love if a save state was implemented. Polish up the graphics and this could be a great game!! Congrats on the release.

RoboLand by slovakyan 2017-05-17T23:44:00Z

Great compo entry. Your knowledge is impressive and this little game you have here is a reflection of that. I can only wonder what you can achieve in a month. Keep it up!

rovR by morrilet 2017-05-17T23:46:16Z

I like the mood of the game. At this point in the jam I've had my share of "around the planet" concept, but the puzzle aspect adds something different which makes this one of the more memorable entries for me. Keep it up!

House 0.1.0(top down shooter) by thelonelynug 2017-04-26T22:30:31Z

Thank you for taking time to try my game. Yes, I'm aware of the - counter and the issue with a soldier not recognizing the bullets. I fixed both in another build and when I make more progress I will post it. Thank you again. Happy Jamming!

House 0.1.0(top down shooter) by thelonelynug 2017-05-08T08:20:59Z

@dakikad no it's not your ubuntu it's just the build.. I have been working on this project aggressively since the jam ended and have a current build which fixes all the issues in this one. I will update the build once the jam is over. thank you for taking time to play!

@terryg thankyou! I will be updating the game soon.

Not So Small by CodeChomper 2017-05-09T23:23:11Z

I got mauled like 50 times and shat on but I think you're on to something. Pretty much what everyone is saying could be put to good use in the game. I love the graphics but maybe adding something as small as a jump button and refining the movement a little could do wonders. Like I said, you're onto something. Would love to see this further developed! Keep it up!

Dung Beetle by Louspirit 2017-05-09T23:30:53Z

A dung beetle!?!?! lmao one of the funniest games I've played yet. Reminded me of playing bugs life on my N64 but better cause...dung beetle! I've seen some cool games this time around but this actually made me laugh pretty hard. Polish it and this could be the next goat simulator. Keep it up!!!

A Relatively Small World by Samusoidal 2017-05-09T23:10:57Z

Very interesting use of the theme! I enjoyed the way you used the graphics. I'm not gonna mention the tuning of the controls as everyone else already has but this would make for a fun little game if you further developed into it. I love the quirky dialogue as well! Keep it up!

Djinn Duel by Corco 2017-05-14T01:20:18Z

Interesting mechanics, and even though you explained the controls, I still had difficulty reading the UI. The core of it has a neat rpg appeal and if polished I think this could turn into a nice mobile game if done right. keep it up!

Legends Of Block by sagarpatel25700 2017-05-09T23:33:50Z

I love it. Simple yet nicely executed. Has a nice retro feel to it, but also somewhat modernized with the mechanics. Would love to maybe see more levels and enemies but honestly, it was great! A co op mode would be super sweet but overall it was great! Congrats!

Last day of the woods by Redblack Spade 2017-05-11T05:37:32Z

Very pretty game. Gave me that Trine feeling. You're definitely onto something. It's actually quite polished and if you decided to further development, this could be a great experience. I like the screen size of the game as well. My framerate felt like it was between 20-25fps but it could be my browser. Overall great game!

[BOXAVERSE] by Fran Segura 2017-05-17T23:39:31Z

Had issues with some visuals showing up (I'm on a Mac and using Safari), but other than that it was pretty fun. Part of it feels a bit stiff, but the fact this is your first jam you should feel proud to have gotten something up. Keep making games!

Angery Ships Only by adrisj7 2017-05-09T22:59:02Z

Maybe it's my browser but I experienced a couple bugs with buying parts and stuff but for the most part it worked. I love playing these kinds of games where I can just sit back and relax and not have to worry about scores or kills or anything like that. Would love if you polished it more cause I can actually see myself playing this if it were a full game. Has that FTL feel to it (and these kind of games aren't usually my first pick either). Keep it up!

Globe Trot by Richard Michael Smith 2017-05-11T05:34:28Z

You did not just do geometry wars!? omg this is awesome. If you seriously refined the graphics and polished this up, it could really be something. I've had my share of space games but this is a great way of using the theme. great entry!

Every Man's Sky by blaster391 2017-05-09T23:13:23Z

I'm not gonna critique everything that has been mentioned but this was actually an interesting and hilarious use of the theme. I'm actually intrigued to see what you do with this project should you decide to expand on it. I like how theirs a sense of uniqueness to everyones planet so definitely capitalize on that cause I haven't played a game yet that utilizes that sort of multiplayer aspect. Keep it up!

So You Want To Build A Snowman. - (A finished game for all ages) by Alex Hart 2017-05-09T23:39:45Z

YES I WANT TO BUILD A SNOWMAN! I've been playing slenderman so much I thought something crazy was gonna pop in my face. This is great. Yeah the graphics need some polishing, but you're onto something here and I could see this game going a million different directions. Would love to see a polished version! Nice to be able to take a break from shooting games and play something like this. Congrats!

That Tiny Pea by Thendash 2017-05-09T23:25:30Z

Definitely a learning curve to this (at least for me), but I can honestly say I lost myself a little in this game and had quite a blast. I'm fascinated with all things space so this little simulator felt right up my alley! Would not mind playing this if you furthered the development. Keep it up!!!

War of Quiz! by orquigames 2017-05-09T23:36:32Z

I suck at questionnaire games but this was actually very good. I like how there's some interaction and it's not just question after question after question. Reminds me of those cool games I'd play in computer class, but this is actually sprinkled with a little knowledge. This would actually be a great educational game if you tweaked and refined it a little bit. Congrats and keep it up!
