That was a lot of fun, I am so tired but I learned a ton. I am very proud of the final COMPLETE game.

Funny idea for a game! I died multiple times because bird sh*t got stuck on my head or enemies spawned directly on me. Other than that it's a fun and somewhat challenging game :)
I like the level unfolding idea, that's something I haven't seen before. Nice art and animations too. I did find it a little difficult (took me a minute to understand that getting hit by bird poop was causing damage), but that might just be me!
I think it's kinda bugged for me since the screen didn't really scroll. Not sure of all the controls either. What I did learn to do was really funny though, jumping to dodge that darn bear was interesting with the hail of bird poo.
I actually enjoyed playing this game. I love the way the level 'unfolds' as you progress and the sounds fx that go with it are great. The fact that you record high scores is cool too make me want to play more.
Graphics work good and you spent crazy time trying not to die for bird droppings(?). Beasts have a good animation while level is changing to the next (this is pretty amazing), and sound is kinda good. You have an interesting sense of humor :D.
Enjoyable game. It was pretty difficult. The thing that when you make progress it randomizes the next part of the world was nice. The menu was designed interestingly as well. There was one strange thing though. When I completed the first level the next biome or part of the world spawned to the left, not right. Didn't really matter as I died almost instantly after that anyways. It would have also been nice if the game had a background (or backgrounds since there were multiple biomes) the blue background is kinda... how to say this... lazy.
EDIT: I don't know if it's intentional but when you chop the trees in the menu and go beyond the edge, you can't come back. Also, the BGM loops strangely at some points, at least in the menu.
But yeah: Nice idea and well done entry!
Good take on the theme, and the bird poop puts you under some good pressure. The hinge level expansion was cool too, and the music fits well with the game. As mentioned above, the bird poop getting stuck on you leading to death is the most frustrating thing
I was having trouble getting the "play" to trigger, would love to play the game though! I would jump underneath it and it started maybe twice...the mute/unmute was working fine. Chrome/Windows 10, sorry!
Ok what to say about that game where bird poo killed me like 20 times... :D It was quite funny most of the time but sometimes it felts a bit unfair when an animal just rushed you and killed you instant. The Level unfolding mechanic is very neat and I like that. The art style fitted well and also the music is cool :) Good job on that game mate! You may want to tryout my game and leave some feedback? :) https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/noizy
Have a good day, Cheers!
Hahaha! The funniest game I've seen in this LD. Frankly the control is a bit annoying, but every time I die I couldn't help but cracking up, and it made me keep going. That blood spray is just awesome. The way a level is unfolding was nicely done too. And I hate scorpions.
It's a really creative and fun idea, it's simple yet effective and funny. There are a few problems, like the hitboxes, the character's movements too slow and the annoying music but I had a lot of fun playing your game. The major complain is the unfair difficulty, or maybe i'm too bad :p Anyway good job !
I really liked the level-unfolding mechanic. The game led to a lot of funny moments, especially with the insane blood spray. I don't love the way the poops cause constant damage.
This was a really cool game. I loved the way that the levels came into the scene (that unfurling of the world.) The SFX were good, but the music was a little repetitive. After my first try I decided to leave it off. It was really hard to predict where the bird shit was going to land, and even harder to keep hitting those trees. It felt like the birds were really aiming for me. Great work!
As a side note, I had to scale my browser down to 80% to see the whole screen. That's not the end of the world, it was just a bit of a pain.
I love the sprites so much!
This was a great concept, but maybe a bit too difficult. The bird poops constantly get stuck on my head and then are impossible to avoid until you die. I'm impressed you were able to get a leaderboard in in time as well, nice work.
God! That's Funny!!
Pretty fun game, I love the way the levels unfold and the interaction in the menu. The bird poops are a bit OP though, I think maybe they should get destroyed after hitting you once. If they get stuck on your head it's basically game over. The art, animation and music are all really good :)
- music is good -gameplay is awesome , but its really hard at the beginning .
I don't like being constantly killed by bird poop - which is something I never thought I'd write some day. Good stuff, the difficulty needs a lot of balancing but then again, it's a jam game so can't complain!
I found this really difficult, being insta-killed by the bear wasn't too fun. I also had an issue where when the next part of the level turned up, no enemies came out... So I wandered over there and instantly died off screen.
I feel with a bit of balancing though, this could be a very fun game, the unfolding world was very cool I must admit.
I got mauled like 50 times and shat on but I think you're on to something. Pretty much what everyone is saying could be put to good use in the game. I love the graphics but maybe adding something as small as a jump button and refining the movement a little could do wonders. Like I said, you're onto something. Would love to see this further developed! Keep it up!
@thelonelynug Thanks for the comment! If you press up arrow you will jump also holding the spacebar to attack and don't try to run while attacking.
What a game this turned out to be. Challenging.
That was a very interesting experience xD I liked how the world procedurally unfolded. I can tell a lot of effort went into this game, good job!
Great little gem! I honestly got a little lost on what I had to do. i had to refresh the webGL version to play again every time (i believe it was a bug) :) otherwise, it was fun to figure out what to do. I just wished i had a little more time to figure it out before the bear tore me into pieces. Great job! Keep it up!
Cool game! I like your pixel arts! The game is great and avoid the deadly bird shi* is funny x)
Good job! :D
PS : I've had a bug at a moment, I fell down but I couldn't die so I could not record my score :/
The mouse pointer is not showing in the game, so I need to click "in the dark" to play the game.
I took some time to realize that I need to attack the tree to continue the game. Some tutorial would be nice. The difficult level is too hight to me, I didn't went far.
The pixel art are great, good job! Overall, it's a good game!
@Meenners I believe you had to put your name in for the high score board before playing again. This tripped a lot of people up and is something I'll work on fixing. Thanks for playing.
@rodrigo-denubila The menu is "Playable" you don't need the mouse just run over and jump to hit the play button. It is hard, I wanted a flappy bird feeling, my hope was with the difficulty and the highscore leader board it would make people want to play more but a lot felt like it was too hard. Thanks for playing.
@blaster391 sorry you went off the screen, that is insta kill =-( The idea is that you will play the game and traverse right until the camera stops moving and then try to traverse left which changes the game play a bit. Sorry that wasn't as obvious as I wanted it to be. Also a lot of people have mentioned that it is too hard. Thanks for playing!
@rscar I think maybe the game was asking for your name for the high score board before you can play again... If you don't give a name you cant hit the play button. A few people have mentioned this and it is something I will work on.
This is one of my favorite games on Ludum Dare!
What I liked:
- I like the backstory and that nature just wants to poop on you for doing your job. - The graphics were minimalistic, but well done. - Liked the way the next level unfolded and was randomized, this added to the replay value. - The high score mechanic was also a nice touch. Made me want to keep playing! I liked how one person couldn't easily spam the high score list.
The stuff I noticed:
- The bird poop was a little annoying. I didn't mind trying to dodge it as I was chopping down a house (?), but when it stayed on me and drained my health, it was frustrating. I found jumping right before impact would help to bounce it away from me. The poop should have an immediate effect, but then disappear after impact. There were a couple of times where it even got caught at my feet while I was running and eventually killed me. - Music/sound wasn't working for me in Safari on Mac 10.10.5 Yosemite. I was able to get sound to work by running it on Firefox, but it caused the game to lag significantly. - The random level idea was great, but it would have been nice to have a consistent amount of enemies on each level. I went through three levels one game before finding another enemy. I think you could still randomize it, but have a more consistent threat each level. This would even high score chances, IMO. - Minor bug, but if you chop down the title screen tree, you can fall off the screen, but then you can't quit. - I do love the high score list, but it would be nice to know what my last score was when I die.
Again, a great game, definitely something to hang your hat on. Look forward to your entry next time!
BTW, 1600+ high score!
Very challenging game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 38 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nf9jH1KZdXw
@tacomabert Thanks for the compliments! Glad you enjoyed the game so much! You feedback on the little bugs was appreciated and they will be adressed when the jam voting is closed. Stay tuned
@jupiter-hadley thanks for playing my game! I watched the video and listend to you hitting the spacebar multiple times to hack a tree down... Holding the spacebar down is the trick. Also you can fight off the bears and other creatures (don't press anything while attacking). Good job covering the indie games i know I have enjoyed watching your videos.

I played this after seeing it on the Jupi Plays video. I really like the mechanic of the level unfolding as you go, making each little section its own challenge. I found the difficulty pretty brutal and sometimes a bit frustrating, mainly when you jumped into a new section and hit a spawning bear but I guess that's the cost of playing aggressively. I think I scored about 880 on my best run (I went by the name Jimbo). Well done.
