Haighstrom's Tug of War by Haighstrom 2015-12-14T21:38:00
Nice little game :)
Fell solid and well done. But it may lack a bit of strategy :P But overall was an enjoyable playthrough (the CPU was very easy to beat)

Really good use of the theme! Good graphics, sound, and overall a nice game. I'm just not sure how I won, but it appeared a "Winner" thing on my screen, so I guess I did it? \o/ Good job :)
Nice use of the theme, I never even thought about katamari!
Simple, but well done. My only little feedback is that in Katamari we can experiment collecting different things, as if we try to pick something larger than we can pick up, the punishment is very light. So forcing a restart every time we hit a bigger object may be a little too harsh...
but overall, really good submission, I had fun with it...
I liked your art style :) my only critique is how it is hard to get a sense of distance, so predicting where your missile will hit is hard. Also, the tutorial is painfully slow (short, but slow), but overall a nice entry.
Nice game, and enjoyed my few minutes with it. But, as others have commented, having an achievable goal would be nice.
I like the idea of using morse code to send commands, very innovative.
Graphics are really nice. SFX seems to fit. On my end the bullets were invisible, so it was hard to know where I'm aiming at. Overall I like this entry!
Nice submission :) took me a while to figure out the controls, and how to make money because there is an island on the initial screen with NO trees/plantations, so I would just spend all my money on town hall and get stuck :(
But overall, its a nice game. The progression was fun. But the controls were weird, and seems not responsive. Anyways, good job, had fun :)
Nice graphics, but the controls are really weird. I'm already used to top down shooters with tight controls, so it's not fun for me to play a similar game with restrictive controls (like you can't stop, move straight, move in a direction I'm not facing, etc...)...
Best SFX \o/ (yayyy~)
Very good use of the control limitation.
Nice music and graphics, even though they are simple they look nice. The controls are fine, and sfeel natural after a minute once you get used to the timing.
Loved how the city gets smaller as I eat nuclear cabbages? But needs more challenges, and maybe an objective.
Overall good job on your entry, well done!
Really nice game. Well polished with awesome graphics and sound. Gameplay feels solid and nothing looks rushed. I just failed to see the theme (I didn't beat it). But overall its an impressive game for a 2 day competition...
Really nice! good work.. I liked all the movements you can do in the game, but could not find a tutorial explaining the keys (like Dash for example). Anyway, I loved Rogue Legacy, and I think for a Compo entry you did an good job recreating it...
Cool idea! It's like Snake, but with less apples and more bullets =D
Had lots of fun with it. The graphics are simple, but I liked it a lot. Sound is fitting, and seems like a solid game. Good job!
The jump from the moving platform to the little platform with the monster was hard. But I liked the mood and music.
Hard game. Not sure how to balance better though. I guess I'm just bad with timings... The graphics are nice, and the game seems polished enough for LD with a really well done mood (only missing a music). Overall a good entry :)
At first I was confused why doing the quest was ending my game, and I re-read the title and felt dumb...
Anyway, nice little game. It's simple, but solid and well done. Good job..
Nice work. That is very innovative!
Nice soundtrack. And loved how short it was (it is a good thing). Was very fun!
I failed to understand the game :(
A screen explaining the rules would be nice...
@Saymon thank you, trying to use cuteness to take the attention away from the fact that I can't art...
@rzuf and @Jimbly , oh you **** cheaters :P haha, yah, It's a known bug but if you managed to find it then you deserve the glory of beating it on day 1! Congratulations :)
@rockford Agreed. I think the idea has potential to be fun, I just didn't manage it this time. But learned a lot, definitely.
@Piscythe thank you for the feedback, really appreciate it. I think the game lacks a ton of visual feedback and "interactivity" as it is.
@WakeOfLuna,
@madjackmcmad,
@Tom,
@Lancey,
@NightShadow0,
Thank you for all the feedback. This is my first Ludum Dare, but I did others Jams before where we get no feedback and its not as amazing as LD. I'm learning so much in so little time, so thank you all <3
Cool idea. I think I understood how the game is played. But, it would be better if the "Moves List" were shown on the screen all the time. My memory is really bad. Once I kept it on my second monitor the game became really fun!
Also, a list of previously inputted keys would make it easier to do the moves, I guess...
Overall I really liked the game once I understood it, but took a while. Good job!
Good job on your first submission. But the controls need a little more tweaking...
Cool idea. I liked the graphics and the music was cool (but I think it stops randomly). But I didn't know what to do. I think having the texts be faster would help a lot.
Good music, graphics and mood. As Capitals commented, I also felt a little delay on the controls, but the game was easy, so it is okay. Overall you did a good job!
Nice little game :)
The graphics are really well done, and doesn't feel like a rushed game. I just not sure about the hitbox size of the white thing we control. Maybe it should be larger for the friendly units only? :)
Anyways, good job...
