Sort the Court! by graebor 2015-12-14T18:53:00
Wonderful game! My favorite part was the audio, especially the music. Funny and addictive, as well.
Only thing is it feels too long. I'm on day 31 and still seeing new stuff, although rarely now.

Boss animation was great! Wish there was a way to win, though.
Great recreation of NES-era games! I especially liked the character design. I did get stuck on level 12 or 13 though! Had one dragon left to eat, but got stuck on the bottom layer of platforms. No biggie. Fun game!
Thanks for the kind words, everyone! It was my first Ludum Dare ever, and even though I programmed non-stop I still ran out of time! I'm definitely planning on refining it, especially explaining the controls and the end-game. Thanks for checking it out!
Good job! The transparent screen overlay was kind of confusing. Seems like a waste of 3dness if you're supposed to just watch the 2d screen.
Sublime.
Brilliant gameplay, and great visuals to boot!
The 3D panning is witchcraft! Nicely done. I think I bought the nuke without having the money for it, but you won't here me complaining.
Hilariously appropriate for this year's theme!
Extracted the Windows download, and nothing happens when I open the .exe
Loved the snippets of poetry!
Easy to play, but difficult to master.
The dancing dudes are mesmerizing. Truly the stuff of nightmares. I liked the animations and music.
Very unique! Game lagged pretty hard sometimes.
Surprisingly enjoyable! Avoiding your quest is harder than it looks. Level 6 was a slog, and I ended the game shortly after getting to level 7. Would be cool if there was a secret ending. Thanks for the game!
Really cool! My chicken army is unstoppable! Do the conduits do anything?
Everything worked together to complement the theme. Really dug the music, font, and background. Dust particles were neat as well.
Cool use of theme! The grays colors actually work well. There was some issues with clipping though. Couldn't press 'r' when I got stuck, either.
I enjoyed the music and liked the way the party lent itself to all the weapons with just a couple buttons. Cool font choice, too.
Never figured out how to double jump, exactly. I enjoyed the character art!
Got the 3 dreamcatchers, but couldn't jump up the trunk after growing it :( Love the mood and the way the shapes deform!
The game seemed super hard to play. I was out of options, thinking all hope was lost. Then I remembered I could Panic! And then I won in two turns. Easy!
Amazing work on the rules. Very clearly worded. Good use of capitalization to point out key words. Examples were succinct and displayed rule outliers well. My only suggestion would be to make a cheat sheet somewhere for quick reference.
Didn't try the variations, but it was cool to see you added those.
And nice job incorporating the theme!
Cool transformation game. The different abilities were clear and fun to use. Music was great. I really liked the duck animation. Got stuck in swim mode after leaving the water, but then again I always wanted to play a game as a flying walrus.
Loved everything about this. Way to take the theme and do something different with it as well.
Hammer. Space. Hammerspace.
(the shapeshifting elements were very well done. Was fun to walk through the level. I'm still tripping)
Mechanics worked flawlessly. Intro was a little fast, and some of the flying was tricky. Got through them all, though!
Very pleasant atmosphere. Nice concept. Got stuck on the first puzzle in Level 2 though!
Amazing FTL-like game! I like how the theme strongly tied into both the story and the gameplay.
My favorite part was the decision to go with a unicorn as a shape. Square...triangle...circle...star...UNICORN! The left shape was sometimes hard to see until the end, due to the blue and purple floor blending into the shape cutout. And using the top reference is cheating!! Hardcore is waaaay too fast. Fun game.
Sweet game! Love it! I was about to give you hell for that ending though >:)
Good old school feel to it. Reminded me of King's Quest 3 in graphics, toughness, and transformations.
Pretty funny! In the end, I just spammed "Finish" to get more product out. Good luck with the recalls.
Absolutely loved the menu music! Art was fantastic as well. Could've used the theme more effectively, though.
I had to use 7-zip to manually extract the game. Maybe upload the files to twitch.io?
When I start the game and just see black, the QE buttons, R to restart, and the Alpha number. Controls are unresponsive. Music sounds nice though!
Graphics, gameplay, and sound all complemented each other nicely. Seems perfect for as a phone app.
Seemed to be in a loop going up the platform tower with the slime underneath (where it said Don't look Down). Last thing the castle said was it wants to give me a chance, but I kept getting teleported back to where I got the eye thing. Nice mood though!
Outstanding visuals! Press any key to continue wasn't working if you got 0 points. Uhh...or so a friend told me. (didn't realize you could shoot the first time around!)
Thanks for the post-mortem on UE4. I like the color choice and ease of use. Also...http://imgur.com/35VXqTj
Really fun idea. Some minor suggestions that would improve the game immensely would be sounds effects for the car and collisions (both volumes based on speed), and bigger hitboxes for the crates.
I enjoyed trying to ram into the truck as hard as possible. When I did, it was really cool to see that more crates drop! Models were well done, too.
Very nice feel to the game. Super hard to get the dishes in on time!
Looks finished enough to me! Adds some sounds and it would be 100% better. I really liked the background colors and the way the shape spins faster mid-air. Jumping took some getting used to, but it wasn't too bad.
Glad you had fun! Neat little game you made. I liked that some of the shapes weren't color coded differently. Made it tricky, which was cool.
I think I broke the hitboxes entirely. Just used the wolf to run through the columns, skipped the platforming and got to the guy, but he didn't do anything. Nice use of theme though. And I loved the duck!
Nice use of fading. Pleasing puzzle experience.
Says "EXTRACT AND PLAY", but there's no link to download.
Unique looking game!
Addictive. Really impressed that you have a working leaderboard.
Good job, dude! Loved the small size sprite!
Impressive. Loved how everything was 8-bit, from the graphics to the sound to the menus. Fun stuff.
Can't directly download from Google Drive
Fun game! Shooting felt good. I especially like the look of the knights.
Fun game! Shooting felt good. I especially like the look of the knights. Nice work for a randomly generated game.
Sometimes you want to finish the game just to finish it, for your own satisfaction. It's not officially a part of the competition. (btw the "There should be 'Shape Racer_Data'
folder next to the executable" should be fixed now. My Dropbox was full. Thanks for the bug report!)
Didn't quite understand what I was supposed to be doing. Just click the buttons on the bottom left? Interesting concept at least. Needs-based games are an always fun to work on.
Great level design! Wish there was more.
Great entry! Love these types of games.
The countdown could be shorter. Maybe three seconds. And I never figured out Save Them! Ohhhhhh a dam! Also, you can upload a Post-Ludum entry if you wish. Just keep the original links so people can vote on the Jam version.
Nice art and animations. Couldn't get the strategy so I got swarmed. Cool game though. Always nice to see turn based games.
Game couldn't run in either place. Maybe upload a downloadable version?
Amazing work! The way the units split up to fight really sold it as a war sim. The enemy footsteps really made me feel like I was under pressure, in a good way. And special thanks for putting up the direct download ;)
Great music. Graphics were amazing, and I loved all the faces. Could've stuck with the theme more though.
Good job, dude!
