If it's procedurally generated, I already love it by default. I like the use of sound too, althought it's a bit too loud. The only real complaint I can think of is that 2d jumping doesn't work very well with grid based movement.
It's a little confusing and enemies kill themselves more often than they actually reach my units, but after I got through the learning stages it got quite fun. Needs more work on that, but still, good job!
Controllable gravity sources...Amazing AND a lot of fun!
Awesome! I really like the use of multiple graphical styles!
Good game, good music, very fun overall, I like the challenge too. Very fun!
The one thing that bugged me was not being able to attack enemy fighters and only being able to watch as they gunned down my battleships...
An interesting idea, but the player can easily break the game by quickly mashing the number keys...Maybe if you created a delay between changes and a fade in/out effect, the whole experience would be much smoother. I had fun anyway =D
I really really like the graphics, they remind me of Zelda Wind Waker, and that's always a good thing =D
Too bad it's unfinished, but I'd love to play a finished version.
Great idea, very well polished. I also like the rhythmic sound it makes when the puzzle is solved.
Amazing music and great backstory. As the control problems have already been mentioned, I'll just say: good job! Now make more! =D
That was amazing! Definitely a proof that games can send powerful messages even better than movies. Not being able to go back was a nice touch. I have only one complaint:the signs are readable on a very small area, I accidentally skipped over one or two of them...
Again, awesome job!
This game really "feels" good. Very well polished, good job!
Challenging game, I like it! Too short, though.
I had a laugh at the idea, but it really needs some kind of challenge (and sound)...
Surprisingly...hypnotic... I personally think the jump would be better if it's height was controllable (like in Mario, for example) but that's just me. Nice =D
Crashed after the intro...
Well that's as simple as it gets.
Jumping could work a bit better, though,I walked though wall more than once...
Neat. A little too based on luck, maybe...
Definitely the best platformer I played on this LD. Jumping is implemented very well, collision works perfectly, camera is smooth, really good and challenging level design. Amazing. =D
This could really use some sound, though... And later levels could have some checkpoints.
The mood was set very nicely, but I got stuck on the room with all the beers. Also, the voices were too low compared to the sound effects.
The concept is definitely very interesting, but I think it isn't working very well. Absorbing worked only a few times and shooting also didn't do much. The map looks good.
The enemies were too "perfect" (they looked at the player too fast), so it was very hard to dodge. But that is just me.
Looks like a great start for a bullet hell shooter. There's not much there, but what is there works perfectly. Great! =D
Great! The mechanics are really simple to grasp, but very creative. I also like how it gets very challenging. =D
Also, I loved the level transition effect.
I'm...confused. I agree with what Fritzendugan said: the game needs, at very least, some minimal feedback when the player does something right, or at least some basic tutorial. From what I read in the comments it's unplayable for anyone who doesn't know much about music... I look forward to playing an eventual future version =D
Nice! Movement is a bit clunky, though.
Neat! I like the challenge!
Although if you kill all the aliens on one side, it gets really hard to go for the other...maybe you should try randomizing their position a bit on each pass?
Great work! The game manages to be really atmospheric while relying on extremely minimal graphics! =D
Took me awhile to learn how to play it, but it's definitely a fun game. I'm impressed with the time rewind mechanic.
You could make the beginning a little slower and be more forgiving on the use of fuel, that would go a long way towards making it easier to learn.
I love it! Reminds me of Katamari Damacy.
Really well made game, I really have nothing bad to say.
That was fun! I really liked the use of jumping as an upgreadable stat!
One question, though...why does it look like the main character has exposed genitalia? o.O
This is great!
I got "HOLD PROSPER ESCORT PERFORMANCE VICTORY MOON BRIDGE MONEY SNOW NOSE"....what
That was great! I really liked the overall tone of the game =D
Movement could be a little faster, though...
frr171, that was exactly what I was planning when I decided to learn libgdx =D
I used abundant-music =D
Thanks for all the awesome feedback! I'll look into everything that was said for the complete version! =D
That was fun...and challenging.
I really liked the idea and the execution is also good. It really needs a way to select multiple units though...
Also, some cover would help a lot on the difficulty.
I can't download it D=
Fun idea, but that zombie is horribly difficult to avoid. It seems to me that it's collision box is a little too big, you could try making it just slightly smaller than the zombie =D And make it slower too, please... I can't beat level 8 no matter how many times I try...
Did you use libgdx?
Simple, but really fun. A little too easy, IMHO.
Very well made game, with some really cool mechanics. =D
Two small suggestions (IMHO, you may disagree =D ):
1- Jumping over boxes currently requires a little too much precision from the player. Maybe if you just slightly increased the player's jumping height, it would work out better.
2- Instead of having a long tutorial right of the bat, maybe you could introduce the mechanics throughout a longer section of the game, slowly. This gives you more space to explore every single mechanic and keeps the game fresh for the player for more time.
Good job!
The shape morphing mechanic really looks like it has a lot of potential, I look forward to seeing a game made from this! =D
I really want to play this, but it crashes when I open it... I'm on Win 7 64bit...
Hey, nice story writing!
Got me really interested in the story.
I can't download it somehow... The .zip file is corrupted o.O
That's great! I really liked the use of piano notes!
One thing though: sometimes I accidentally moved twice in quick sucession, because the game apparently doesn't wait for a "key up" between moves. Just a minor nitpick, great game overall!
That was really good! I really like the "pixelized 3d" style. Reminds me of the special stages from Sonic 2. were those an inspiration?
Surprisingly robust, considering the simple mechanics. Nice challenge too. =D
Jumping was a little odd, but other than that it worked really well! Also, nice music. =D
Interesting idea, I like it!
Awesome work on the boxart and on getting the Atari "feeling". It was a bit imbalanced, though...A bit too hard during the stage and too easy during the boss. Also, for some reason, the ship goes down a level when you enter the boss fight.
Fun =D
Nice game!
Drawing lines is a little annoying sometimes, because the mouse keeps leaving the screen. Also, too many entities right at the beginning of the later stages usually destroyed my score...
Still, it works generally well and really needs some skill. =D
Really impressive ow simply shifting the perspective to a diagonal view can make this game stand out so much. A little slow, though.
Nice game! =D
Neat! Should work really well on a mobile environment. =D
One small suggestion: give each number a different color and a black outline, that'll make it much easier to read them and also to find possible combinations.
I like it, but controlling it is really really hard...
Nice graphics =D
So...was that originally a potato?
Really well put together gameplay, congratulations!
The game really needs some sound, though.
The compo version (which I rated) shows an obviously great idea, but it's a little too unfinished...
The post-compo version is like a completely different game, great job! I loved the idea and gameplay!
I'm not sure what this has to do with the theme, though...
Reminds me of a top-down Doom, really great.
One major problem though: It gets really slow after some time... It starts without any lag, but from the moment the first enemy spawns it gets slower and slower.
Looking at the task manager, it doesn't seem to be a memory leak, but the game takes a considerable amount of CPU power... Try looking for bottlenecks in your code =D
Nice game! Collision detection seems a little off sometimes, but it's okay how it is.
Very original concept! I really liked it!
The idea is quite similar to my game, but taken differently =p
I like the way the visuals and sound make it immersive... Reminds me a lot of the first 2 Fallout games in that aspect.
Everything works quite well. Pretty solid =D
One suggestion I would give is adding a visual effect for when the player is hit, as it was kind of hard to hear that whisper.
pretty good! everything works very well, although I can't say I personally liked the "one checkpoint" mechanic much, specially after reaching the "fire" stage... =X
Then again, it IS the theme =P
worked fine here. Nice game, specially considering you had no prior experience =D I could quite figure out how to direct the player, though...
Also, nice pixel art.
Looks good, I wanna play it a little more before rating it.
Just a heads up before I do: movement speed seems to randomly change and, after attacking, I have to release the movement key then press it again... it's kind of annoying...
Great idea on the chain reaction mechanic! Fun to see it working, but those sound effects are a little too loud...
Your writing style is really nice =) and the art is extremely cute!! Please continue, I'm curious!
Voice acting in a LD game is something I had never seen. Pretty challenging too, I like it! One thing though: it's a little hard to click on the radio, the skills menu kept opening.
Pretty cool game! The mistery got me really hooked on it! The dialogues are pretty funny too. The game crashed on me the first time though!
pretty good game! Nice music too, sets the mood well.
I freaking loved the graphics and sound. It really looked like it was running on a Gameboy, nice job.
I really, really, REALLY like this idea. It's a little too easy, though, I had to keep only waiting for more villagers to spawn.
I'd love to play a post compo version!
It crashed after the tutorial, but skipping it it worked fine
I made a hydra-ball and my computer started overheating.
It gets pretty heavy on the cpu with a lot of heads (and self sustainable), but this is way too much fun.
Check it out: http://imgur.com/skDWPk2 (a few seconds later it was at more than 900 heads)
That was extremely fun and creative! The audio was pretty amusing with the monster moaning and all...
Best interpretation of the theme I've seen. I'd love to see this idea more developed.
Pretty fun game, it made me really excited to play it, but unfortunately I can't seem to scare people! Pressing space bar near them, only two reacted with a scream. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong. Anyways, graphics are super cute, the music is nice and I loved the monster!
The idea of mixing a tower defense-like game with farming was really interesting, but it's a little too hard to play.
Works fine for me. Pretty solid gameplay!(and I like the eating sound effect)
Pretty good! I like how functional it is, I can even double click an unit to select all of the same type!
Short, but very interesting spin on the theme and nice gameplay.
Loved the puns. Great voiceover work!
That was a lot of fun. I liked how you kept the player from only using one plant all the time by making them die, that was pretty neat.
a bit confusing at first, but I liked it! The graphics reminded me of early 3D games and set the mood really well!
That was really good! Reminded me a lot of the early Mega Man games! Very challenging and good level design!
Surprising amount of gameplay and polish, specially for a compo game. Congratulations!
The art is amazing! Congratulations!
Nice game! I got to a point where the children were running insanely fast, pretty cool!
Pretty good game, I loved the idea. The art is pretty interesting, too. I played three times though, and in the three of them I lost the ability to double jump, so i couldn't reach the key and all =(
That was really good, congratulations!
That was awesome! Great idea, smooth controls, great attention to detail! This is my favorite game so far!
It's like Octodad got blown up and mixed with a pool of Adventure Time.
I failed miserably, but it was fun! (and it has really nice graphics!)
That was really good! Great level design, too. I don't even usually like stealth games.
Using the enemies as a shield was a nice touch
Great game! Simple, pretty and a lot of fun!
Great game! At first I was frustrated by how hard it is to turn, but then I realized that's exactly the point and beat the first 3 races.
I absolutely can't beat the last one, though, I managed to get 0.1s behind the first place, but the race is just too short for me to be able to catch up.
Oh, and I really liked the music!
Really great game! The graphics are great and the whole thing is creepy and fun!
Congratulations!
Thanks for the feedback! I uploaded a new version with some stupid sleep-deprivation-induced mistakes (such as the music not looping) fixed.
Really nice game! The visuals and sound combined very well and the puzzles were interesting and easy to understand.
I liked it! It's also surprisingly filled with content for a LD game and it generally works pretty well!
The controls are a little confusing, though. Also, the default mappings for keyboard are hard to use, and for some reason remapping didn't work for me (the key field was saying "(text)".
Also, those wolves on the first screen are really annoying =x
Nice game!
Good game! Needs some checkpoints, though. Legs wouldn't hurt either.
Nice graphics and specially sound too, the whole thing had a pretty good mood.
Great, simple game! The concept is great and I loved how you introduced the mechanics slowly and intuitively, so the game is it's own tutorial.
The only thing I suggest is to make the block keep moving when thee arrow keys are held.
See you on Steam!
Nice game! I liked the sketch graphics.
My only complaint is that it depends a bit too much on how lucky you are when searching for the ghost for the first time, but that's just a minor problem.
Not bad! I think the UI wasn't showing up correctly for me, though.
Great game! The combat system is incredibly well crafted and there's a surprising amount of content.
The gameplay idea seems interesting, but I got stuck on the second level...
Nice game. It looks nice and the music is good, too.
Needs some checkpoints, tough.
That was really freaking weird, but I liked it!
Awesome! The platforms were quite creative and the graphics and sound really funny! Jumping felt a little off, but that's all.
That was really fun, although a bit hard to control. It get's almost impossible later on...
I really liked how the game was actually an rpg like battle being controlled by the shapes, even it that doesn't affect gameplay much.
The art is great, but the game is quite confusing. I managed to enter the box, but I couldn't figure out how to progress. I tried flying over the soldiers, but their hitbox is too big and I still die.
A simple message in game helping the player with the first guard would solve the problem
I managed to fly all the way up and over the dungeon, and there seems to be quite a lot of stuff. I'm curious, how do you get past the guard? I wanna play the rest...
Good job on the game! The concept is interesting, it just needs a bit more of work.
The blocks that make the level seem a little disjointed, did you place them by hand? If so, try holding the ctrl key on unity when placing them, that ensures they'll always be on the grid. Also, like someone else mentioned, a little more friction on the main character would make it a lot easier to control. (maybe try changing the "gravity" and "sensitivity" values of Unity's input axis, if you used them to move the character)
I really like the idea of choosing one side of the level to tackle, with more work this could be a great game. Keep it up!
Good job! It's simple and works perfectly well! Pushing stones is a bit too slow, though. I also liked the music, it fits very well with the game!
Nice graphics, they're very simple and very effective!
I had some problems with the camera, though. I kept outrunning it at the start, which kept me from going forward until the "darkness" behind was way too close.
Other than that, it works pretty well, nice job!
Really good game! Gameplay works fine and there's quite a lot of content!
I could'nt finish it, though, I kept getting random crashes, specially when talking to the item vendor...
I really really like the graphics. It gives me a strong "Doom" feel. The gameplay was also nice, although slightly confusing.
It's a little too hard to see what's going on, with the small area of light around the character, this made the game a bit too hard.
Good job on the engine! You really should make a longer game using it.
