LD23 — Tiny World

When Worlds Collide by AlwaysGeeky 2012-04-27T17:55:00

Nice! I'm really impressed by the technical effort that must have gone into this. I think the gameplay concept actually has some real promises! I'm imagining a game where you play as an evil god bent on destroying earth, meanwhile foiling the people's attempt att resurrecting the Champion of Mankind or something like that. (Maybe that sounds a bit weird)

Anyways, really good job! Don't know what else there is to mention, worked flawlessly for me.

Get Off My Lawn! by Argadonian 2012-04-27T17:45:00

Nice first game. I liked the mechanic of the bullets wrapping around the screen and eventually dropping as their velocity went low. I think you could've played around more with that element.

The graphics were maybe a bit to low-res, and they were in a weird aspect ratio, they felt to stretched out or something. Maybe the graphics were a bit to "close" to the screen.
Other than that I actually liked the color palette, you really nailed a retro look with all the high contrast.

Sound was fine but there was some noises that just cut through my ears.(I'm thinking about the respawn noise)

Some of the collision with the enemies were sometimes a bit dodgy, other than that it was a good first game!

LD26 — Minimalism

minsweeper by Attrition 2013-04-29T01:29:00

Great concept. Could be a fun multiplayer game.

A Couple of Questions by Brian Corr 2013-04-29T01:27:00

I had some laughs. Indie: Noire :)

Less is More by Joror 2013-04-29T22:52:00

A very different game. I felt like I was being tricked by this monolith. Curious how one can feel such distrust for a square and some text.

Buried by danielcmessias 2013-04-29T22:21:00

As people mentioned it's kinda hard. It could help if you were given some sort of guide to where blocks would land. Otherwise your eyes are all over the place. But nice mood, and the shaking effect was cool.

Potato Dungeon by _Rilem 2013-04-30T02:01:00

Nice aesthetics and generally really well polished. Don't know if it's that minimalistic though. But this was definitely well executed.

Spacetime Smash by mattw 2013-04-29T23:09:00

I like the concept of using lanes, but right now It's way too easy and a bit static. Another thing I noticed was that you could press several keys at the same time, meaning there were never any actual threats. Still It had some sort of rhythm that kept me playing for a while, might want to explore that.

MicrocellularHATRED (unfinished) by Back to Browse Entries 2013-04-29T18:01:00

It looked exciting judging by the visual style. But it felt like my interaction didn't have any effect. Partly because those you shot at simply just disappeared. I can see the potential but the game didn't really go all the way.

Get The Potato by invaderJim 2013-04-29T22:11:00

Gave me some good laughs. If you want to expand on this you could always.. get the potatoooooo!

Blockade by Inf 2013-04-29T22:29:00

Brave to make a strategy game. But it needs more nuance, right now it feels like whoever goes first is the one who'll win.
Would like to see the concept be worked on more.

theseus.f by belickim 2013-04-29T17:17:00

I liked this. A bit frustrating sometimes though.

The Killer by AlvaroH 2013-04-29T18:18:00

Simple and fun. You shoot, enemies die.

Colors by PhilZ 2013-04-29T17:29:00

I see what you were going for. But I don't know if I'm stupid or something, but I couldn't get past the second room.
The collisions are a bit glitchy.
But with some polishing and refinement I could see this actually shape up to be a cute puzzle game.

This Is Water by solons 2013-04-29T17:07:00

I think you could have gone further with the surrealist theme,
instead of it ending up like some monthy python skit.

Super Monster Attack by daandruff 2013-04-29T22:41:00

I really liked this one. Everything felt good, the coins flying, the attack animations. You should work on this more after the compo.

Lightbyrinth by siondream 2013-04-29T22:15:00

This was actually kinda spooky. I'm guessing this was made with libGDX?

Vectron's Revenge by Rutger Megahertz 2013-04-29T22:03:00

invaderJim:
Lot of 80's style music, synthwave, those old vector games. In general anything electronic during the late 70's and the 80's.

More than bricks by Mesene 2013-04-29T18:31:00

I found it interesting. Would be cool to see how far you could push the concept.

LD30 — Connected Worlds

Galactic Bonding by alvarop 2014-08-26T03:03:00

This one is awesome. It's a simple idea, but the very nice audio and lovely crayon-drawings pulls it together. Could see this becoming quite addictive.

Connected by Rutger Megahertz 2014-08-26T02:57:00

Sorry if it wasn't clear from the description, but I had only time to design two levels.

so NOTE:
There are only two levels! But you can edit the .bmp files in assets/levels/.. to create your own levels, as long as you follow the guide above and keep the names.

Thanks for the comments by the way! :D

LD36 — Ancient Technology

Panzer Vs Aliens by Juanito 2016-09-15T16:30:00

Very unconventional control scheme, but still I found the game quite charming!

I would like to see improvements with the controls but also some work on the effects. The tank fires very slowly and it doesn't feel very satisfactory.

Archimedes' DEATH RAY by Chris0903 2016-09-15T16:32:00

Cool idea!
Could've used som kind of fog that would've hidden the fleet on the horizon, feels kinda lame when you see one ship attacking at a time. I want more effects and more flames!

Aqueducts by KingSlizzard 2016-09-15T16:09:00

Nice presentation but the actual gameplay is a little bit stressful. The ui is kind of vague, and the fact that you're on a clock makes it more frustrating. But otherwise it was a cool idea, I'd like to see you expand on it!

Evolutionary Defense by Zettelkasten 2016-09-15T17:39:00

Classic well tested formula! It was very smooth and nice, though I wished there was some sort of grid displayed where you could place your units. Very fun, but too easy!

Ancient Rides by petitpois 2016-09-15T17:12:00

Cute game! Very similar in controls and perspective to my own, and something I learned is that the keyboard controls aren't the best for this type of perspective and motion. But I think the concept is kinda cool and fun, and you should try to expand on it.

Archaeologist Simulator by Captain Awesome 2016-09-15T16:26:00

Very confusing and the music drove me crazy! But nonetheless a good attempt, needs optimization though.

Yet Another Cat In a Pyramid by daveh 2016-09-15T17:27:00

I'm a bit stupid and couldn't finish the first puzzle, but I think this was a cute game that obviously needs some polishing. It would be nice if the player gets introduced to the mechanics through a smaller puzzle first.

Also 3D is tough so well done!

TI-82 DODGE by Jimbly 2016-09-15T17:16:00

Very nostalgic, great job! Not much more to say since it's such a simple game.

Burn by irwatts 2016-09-15T16:39:00

Has a nice dark atmosphere with the distorted music and the theme of destruction. The player is way to sensitive to fire though and I feel like fires takes way too long. I want to run like a fire god through the fields but instead I have to wait patiently like a fool. There's some cool dark story waiting to be told here.

Light of the Ancients by LooksLikeSomething 2016-09-15T16:33:00

Neat idea but a lot of times I had no idea how I solved the puzzle. The core idea is very solid but the presentation is confusing.

Temple Explorer by Azumiar 2016-09-15T16:00:00

Pretty decent game!
The physics could use some tuning, those blocks were way too slippery! Maybe some parallax scrolling and sound effects could be added to improve the overall game feel.
