LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

Ice Story ( koori monogatari 氷物語 ) by Christina Antoinette Neofotistou 2015-04-24T01:32:00

amazing art and music. really liked the theme.

found the controls a little tricky at first, i felt like i wanted to use the the shoot button, to pick up and to throw. and i kept trying to deposit the enemies in the portal with up.

lol maybe i just play too much mario.

but great work. i hope to see more games from you in other jams.

Fathom by Joe Williamson 2015-04-29T00:07:00

Holy, Beautiful

How I Escaped The Dungeon of Torment by EpaceGames 2015-04-24T01:40:00

my team wanted to a macguyver style make weapons out of random things game, but we couldn't think of a good idea. you nailed it. well done.

Hug Arena by Benjamin 2015-04-24T01:24:00

love it. teleporting into things to hug it. amazing idea. the love meter that has to recharge otherwise they break out of the hug, fantastic. and the rpg style upgrades at the end of each level just made me want to keep playing.

Sinner Party by Zemmi 2015-04-25T18:36:00

Game looks and plays great. Really wish sound was in because that would have made keeping track of who needed food much easier. Looking forward to a version with the final touches!

Super Space Toaster by Alpenter 2015-04-25T18:28:00

Fun game and it feels nice and complete! I didn't make it to the boss, I hope it involved Jam.

No More Nuggets by lubiterum 2015-04-23T15:47:00

I seem to get stuck in a wall an awful lot.

Killer Pepperoni by FourAces 2015-04-24T01:14:00

really enjoyed the bits of polish in there. the italian style music, the way the enemies would slow down and gradually as they got colder and changed colour. nice work :)

Ghost Con: The Reckoning by TEAM-TIGER 2015-04-22T22:38:00

Marbles slow down enemies, and the Ghost bear can block only doors. Win and loss is based on if more than half the enemies escape or are still alive after 2 minutes.

LD33 — You are the Monster

Brog The Builder by mungoman1 2015-08-24T23:38:00

This was Great! I really liked it. The Multi attack Mechanic as cool. I kind of felt like maybe the camera could be a bit higher. It felt a bit claustrophobic. I really liked the footstep audio

Trick Parade by SimonLarsen 2015-08-26T01:59:00

I really liked the audio. really great job

Hero Mate by Lancelot Gao 2015-08-26T01:48:00

Amazing. Very clever to make you the monster in the game but also that you want the hero to survive. very well done.

Camp Starvation by Double Zero One Zero 2015-08-26T01:39:00

The Audio made this game. I really like how solid it was and could see this being a fully realized game. Nice job

Dunstab by MrMordem 2015-08-25T22:21:00

- How To button is broken; goes nowhere
- disconnect between keyboard to mouse controls in Settings screen is jarring
- as you stated, not so much a game as a tech demo

BreakoutBeast by Downtown 2015-08-25T02:43:00

The simple art style is clean and nice. Its quite hard!

Meet the Monsta by Schrodinger Games 2015-08-24T23:49:00

The art style is amazing! really nice game!

Youkai by Nibble Bits Studio 2015-08-25T02:39:00

Very nice. very satisfying to play and fury is great. the audio is timed very well.

Tiny Sad Kraken by Erlend Aakre 2015-08-25T02:35:00

I like getting the boats but it felt as if they should spawn a little more. i was swimming through a lot of nothing for a lot of my play time. maybe an indicator to point you in a decent direction? looks good though

IH LD33 Submission by ianhutchinson85 2015-08-25T21:32:00

- Interesting control scheme
- Would've liked to know what my Health was, rather than trial and error
- Managed to hit a NullException by blocking multiple spears, then capturing the people "Hungry-Hungry-Hippos" style

Me by jofra 2015-08-25T02:31:00

Very short and I want sure what was going on when I was shooting the guy, but I really really love the art. Nice work

Innocent Cherry by goost 2015-08-24T23:56:00

I couldnt get through much before the screen was just red. was also a pain to restart without being able to get through text a bit fast. I like the look a lot though.

Monster vs. Military by Saiyanator 2015-08-25T22:12:00

Buildings that have been "destroyed' are still registering collisions with the monster projectile every frame, causing the Hit SFX to play stacked

DiscountZilla by Krhonos 2015-08-25T21:37:00

Nice and simple, a little clunky navigating the 'swim-lanes' but otherwise pretty funny.

Hugs by Granat 2015-08-30T15:43:00

should probably throw up some taller colliders on the walls in case some crazy person decides to build a ramp out of debris and escape the levels confines... or use it as a mechanic for exploration / advancement

Motherflipin' T-Rex! by mantis 2015-08-24T23:43:00

MAXIMUM DESTRUCTION. Nice game

LD35 — Shapeshift

Speigas by mitkus 2016-04-19T18:09:00

Shifting landscape is a nice concept and works well with the cellular layout.
Needs some work to be playable as your tanks don't move.

Chromawarp by tower07 2016-04-20T02:23:00

Great idea and has a look to grab the eye as well! Learning the levels really gives the player something to strive for when they can alter it to suit their needs. I felt a bit cheated that I take a hit even when landing on enemies, but perhaps I just need to get better ;)

SAMSARA by Huskitch 2016-04-19T17:10:00

Hard as hard can be this one. Art and music really hold up nice! good job

The BladeShifter Tales by DrZanuff 2016-04-21T15:42:00

Nice, you guys got a lot of stuff in here. Good job.

Xeno Crisis by savethejets1 2016-04-20T16:05:00

Man this one was fun. I was begging for up to be a jump option though. Great game, played very well

Yours, Monster by FloatingGhost 2016-04-20T11:27:00

Good Job. the character creation screen works well though it gets kinda clipped by the web site making you need to scroll up and down. I figured it out though.

Shift by CoderDozer 2016-04-22T13:08:00

nice idea. I wish the controls were a bit faster.

Shamanic Panic by panurge 2016-04-21T01:30:00

This is a great entry for sure. I didn't have as much of a problem with the controls as some did (I am a terrible platformer-gamer) but the Shaman jump could use some tuning. The rabbit was fun, but the randomness of the enemies meant that there wasn't a rhythm to be found, which would be fine if running and timing all of your jumps didn't feel so good. I ended up just running that level all out all of the time until the enemy timings were in just the right sync.

Characters were cute and the dialogue was fun as well!

I got hard-living dragon.

Shape Shift Runner by Reyn 2016-04-20T11:20:00

Found it quite hard but I am terrible at these games. The audio look and feel though simple are very nice. Very nicely done.

Shapeshifting by Tooichi 2016-04-19T22:27:00

It looks kind of neat especially that large monster, but the thing that bugged me the most was that I seemed to get hurt by things before they touched me. Felt a bit cheated upon death.

ShapeGrifter by CrazyMLC 2016-04-20T16:30:00

nice little idea. I hope you find some time to get some more levels made! good job.

Generations by Rother Games 2016-04-20T16:22:00

Nice Idea. got a tad confused about the buttons for a bit but figured it out. I like the art.

Fast Dungeon by Andreas Brandt 2016-04-22T17:39:00

Wow. Great looking game! the Audio is stellar. I love the quieter music on the continue screen. Very nice level of polish!

The Last Shift Shaper: Preparation by Knowledge 2016-04-19T22:36:00

The screenshot had me interested, the look is simple but intriguing, but unfortunately it didn't feel like there was much to play. I'm a bit confused as to what I needed to do and the game crashed once.

Shapeship by concalf 2016-04-19T01:28:00

A neat idea, but I don't love how it feels to play. Would definitely play a future version though, because it's got lots of room for expansion!

Ro Sham Bot by huminaboz 2016-04-19T18:10:00

Nice sprite work! love the look. The player movement controll feels very nice as well.

Wearwolf by ehgoodenough 2016-04-22T15:51:00

Not sure there was much of a game there but it looks great

PowerBeat by Insality 2016-04-20T17:07:00

Nice screen effect and all together look. very slick

PixelShifter by Tony-C 2016-04-21T12:54:00

The controls are a bit floaty. I would also love to see an animation of the pixels coming back together! really neat idea.

Shifto by rayman1900 2016-04-27T15:37:00

Nice controls! I like it.

Transmopig by CodeCast 2016-04-21T00:52:00

A solid entry to be sure. I didn't hit any of the bugs people are mentioning and found the meter to not be a problem, just enough of a hindrance to be mindful of my transformations. The looks is clean and cohesive, but the lack of any sound is unfortunate, and definitely a knock to the Mood category. Nailed the theme though, and I like the variety in the abilities, even if they all felt a little slow.

Shape/Shift by yuigoto 2016-04-21T14:32:00

Really great idea! I wish the general pace of the game was all slowed down a tiny bit. I think it may be more rewarding that way. Really fun though trying to beat past scores

Elementary by oparisy 2016-04-22T15:49:00

Nice Job. I think it could benefit from a bit faster movement. I also think you could add more reasons in the game to switch to fire (fight enemies etc) to add more of a resource management element to it

Killer Shapeshifter by CHRIStopher 2016-04-21T12:10:00

We almost did this game, Nice to see some one do it. Good idea.

Ship Shape by TEAM-TIGER 2016-04-20T11:22:00

@Reyn We do move him around with physics, unfortunatally if you play with key board it is a bit unresponsive. We find the best way to play is With an xbox controller (2 for two playr is even better).

Ship Shape by TEAM-TIGER 2016-04-20T16:23:00

(Spencer) I honestly think the keyboard controls should come with a warning, as they were really only there for us to test with when all of the other controllers were being used elsewhere. It is 100% meant to be played with a controller, where I'd often contend that it's a bit too easy.

Thanks for all of the feedback, it would be great to take the time and make bring the keyboard controls up to par.

Ship Shape by TEAM-TIGER 2016-04-20T17:25:00

[Spencer]
@Ramayana Each is essentially a Gun that spawn Projectile objects. Each Gun calls Fire() at a specified interval. Fire is overridden by child classes like BurstGun and SpreadGun which have their own properties for how to instantiate each bullet object (time, angle, etc).

If only I'd had time for ships that spawn ships and bullets that spawn bullets! Both of which don't actually need a lot of time, but alas, debugging got in the way.

Ship Shape by TEAM-TIGER 2016-04-20T18:47:00

(Josh) @Ramayana Just checked out your entry. Plays well. I'm terrible but its fun.

Desert Trader by WERT Studio 2016-04-20T16:41:00

The controls could definitely use refinement. I feel like they start ok, but after driving part of the way to the city they somehow make less sense... like something has changed or is affecting my input.

The shapeshifting to get different discounts is a good way to apply the theme, but it would be nice if your discount was displayed in the trading menu somewhere to make it a bit more obvious.

Goo Shift by Arg410 2016-04-21T16:43:00

Nice the controls were goods and quick. upping the weight of the boxes might have been nice.

Hungry Blue Fox by ThaRemo 2016-04-21T20:18:00

Nice looking Game!

Shape Shifted by Simple Potential 2016-04-20T11:36:00

Nicely done. I like the skill progression. It got harder at a nice rate (but I am bad at this kind of game).

FTWL by ooku 2016-04-21T12:05:00

Very pretty game. Everything fit together very nicely.

TowerShifter by mzhovnach 2016-04-21T15:36:00

Nice looking game. there were some path finding issues I think but overall worked pretty well.

Apeshift by tasteless 2016-04-21T00:59:00

Too bad you did get further along with this. I too like the animation on the ape, but the game is fairly bare beyond that.

Shifty Shape Friends by sythe 2016-04-22T12:25:00

spawning level elements as an action is a neat idea.

Ikarauraga by Ramayana 2016-04-20T18:46:00

Dropped in to check out your game. nice fast controls!

Loading... by unoion 2016-04-21T12:14:00

Damn hard. But in a really good way. I will beat this thing.... Good Job!

Shadow Hand by draq22 2016-04-20T16:32:00

It's a fun idea and could really go somewhere interesting. Extra points for getting several modes including a tutorial in there! The look would really benefit from obstacles with more interesting shadows than just blocks, in the future. Even though your hand really only changes to one other shape, Adding more forms to an idea like this fits the theme perfectly!

Shape Invaders by famer 2016-04-21T19:57:00

Nice game idea. I like the simplistic controls. took me a bit to realize that holding a different shape was a different weapon. Nice!

Battle of Creatures by JNI 2016-04-22T16:42:00

Great stuff! The game looks nice, especially the enemies falling apart. I like the level select in the menu as well. The difficulty definitely starts to show when the robots show up. The music switch between forms is also a nice touch!

I stopped playing because my hand had had enough clicking (though the dragon relieves some of that) and because the kill/hit sound really got to me. I also didn't use the Golem often because I found his attack unreliable against the smaller enemies, perhaps that's a good thing though.

PsychoShift by Ratmena 2016-04-20T15:43:00

The controls are hard to get used to but I think in a good way. I started to get the hang of it. Really nice game!

Robot Snake by eduardogacn 2016-04-20T02:12:00

I really enjoyed this! I like the shape mechanic and you put together some thoughtful levels in a short time. I suppose the graphics are the weakest part, but they are clean and the purpose of each object is easily readable (except the little flying enemy imo). I would definitely play more of this, great marks all around! :D

Cata Crunch by ThisIsVeryPointless 2016-04-19T22:40:00

Really good looking with proper polish, but it's odd to not have a single player variation. As mentioned in other comments winning can be had just by dying at the right time and it doesn't really fit the theme well. Though that may be why "theme" was left out of the voting ;)

Cat-Astro-Phe by banana.hammers 2016-04-19T18:35:00

I like the transformation effect. nice job

One Second Hero by aCoupleGames 2016-04-19T22:48:00

I liked it! It looked nice and the enemies weren't all interesting to look at. I find the feedback on what is or isn't close enough to hit you a little loose, but didn't hold me back. It's got a good classic soundtrack too!

Shapinoid by williamtosh 2016-04-21T19:58:00

Nice execution. I wish the pad moved more responsively though.
