I wasn't really sure how to solve the first room - I couldn't pick up boxes. Nice sounds/music!
A bit too difficult for me, but quite fun.
Nice graphics style! Also, quite fun to play, despite all the glitches.
Finished it! A bit difficult to tell where you can jump at first.
It was very fun!
This is awesome! The idea is great and the game is very fun to play for a puzzle maniac like me.
Well, the music was nice (if a bit too loud)! Not too sure about gameplay tough - felt very repetitive for me.
Hilarious graphics! I found it frustrating to play tough, it's very hard to judge hitboxes with this kind of art style.
This is really interesting. Thumbs up for using lisp!
Enjoyed it very much! Obviously, you can find flaws if you start nitpicking, but for 48 hours this is phenomenally good. Best one I played so far out of this LD. Games like these inspire me to keep on improving my own gamedev skills - maybe one day I will be able to make something as good as this in a weekend.
Ok, this is not a very good game. But we can't compare it to other LD games, can we? This isn't actually a game, just an author's experiment with physics. It's good, LD is about pushing yourself after all.
The story, after playing the game and watching short film, was really disturbing and powerful. I applaud for the atmosphere and storytelling techniques, but sadly the "game" part was not as well done. Still, this is one of the best LD entries I played.
I liked many ways I could evolve and a simple, understandable goal, but controls were not very good.
I like designing puzzles myself, so I just love this for simplicity and the main mechanic. The bad thing is, controls are not very intuitive at first and it gets boring pretty quickly. Still, a very very decent entry!
I like visual style and minimalism. Maybe a bit too difficult, but still a very decent shooter!
Had a pleasant time playing this - DNA change mechanic is simple, but fresh and makes this game different enough from other arena shooters. I liked graphics style too - it is consistent and suits the game. Well done for your first LD!
The download was huge! Plus for minimalist aesthetics and music. Idea itself might have been good too, but controls make this very hard to play.
Sounds were funny and the game itself was fun. I got the bad ending tough.
Totally awesome! The best evolutionary idea I found in this LD so far. Super low-fi graphics fit this game really well. I'll be showing this to my friends.
The concept is hard to grasp, but really interesting and original. Sadly the gameplay itself isn't so good (depends too much on luck I think), but it can definitely be fun occasionaly. Overall, I think LD should have more games like this - it's about being bold and experimenting after all.
Controls were not the best, but I liked the game. It was nice that you can't to any damage up until level three, it made for some interesting scientist avoiding.
I played compo version and it was very glitchy, but I really liked the art! Levels were a bit boring, they could have been way shorter.
Completed it. Was rather easy, but still fun.
Visual aesthetic was simply pleasant and the game was interesting, maybe a bit slow tough.
Ok, I'm not the best shooter player and this was way too difficult, but the concept is nice. What it lacked mostly was "juice" if you get what I'm talking about. Enemy movement animations were not very good for example, and it was hard to tell when I shot them (more explosions!). I loved the atmosphere created by music and colours! Overall, not bad at all.
Finished it! Quite fun. Got a bit tiring at the end. What was that huge thing?
A decent game, reminding me of older times of simple graphics. Triggering a jump feels a bit weird and I can't always jump when I intend to, but other than that controls are tight and feel good.
Nice platformer mechanics with wall-jump, double jumps and whatnot. Having some animations for those would have really helped. Oh, and I did manage to escape from the level and fall down indefinitely!
I love the cute character and tight controls, but it was too easy for quite a while! Way too much food and way too much hearts. I don't think it needs that many levels - maybe have 7-10 and ramp up difficulty quicker?
This was awesome! Liked the story very much, I'll make sure to get all the endings.
Nice graphics, cool idea. At first I got frustrated when I got stuck in a hole to the left of starting position, but then figured things out eventually.
Wow, what a story!
Very very cool! I like that you kept game scope minimal and managed to polish it. Visuals are very nice, but most of all I liked the flight manuevers. Got a bit boring after a while, but still a great game.
The physics feel really weird and I have a hard time understanding what to do, but graphics style is nice!
There was not much of a challenge, as the turrets seem to be useless against me. Other than this, I really liked how it looks - well done!
Nice idea! I really would have like more time on later levels tough, or some gameplay mechanic which gives more time.
Great presentation, good idea. I personally like this kind of brain teasers, and this one was fresh and interesting. Not sure 10s is enough tough, it seems game could get more interesting if I had more time.
Cool, another text-mode game! Loved the writing style, and taking turn-based roguelike to real-time stealth game is a really fresh idea.
Cool idea! It was very funny to see raptor carrying a bunch of other raptors on his back.
Looks good, but playing confuses me greatly.
Cool concept, interesting gameplay! A very impressive game, I can't find any flaws about it.
Well executed, ambitious game. Not sure the timer makes game any better tough. Still, very impressive - well done!
Nice and simple.
Original and funny game. Second-to-last level really got me thinking. Does a very good job of teaching player how to play without any text. I have one minor nitpick as a left-handed person - arrow keys should be supported alongside wasd. One of the best applications of the theme I've seen so far!
Lovely simple idea!
Not sure limiting time to 10s makes this game any better, but otherwise - nicely done!
Great mechanic, enjoyed this quite a bit.
Very weird, very original.
Beutiful minimalist graphics. Didn't feel that I can do much besides spawning creeps as fast as possible.
Impressive for a jam! Still, more limited scope with better polish would have made a better game, in my opinion.
Fun and arcadey. I did get a bit annoyed when people walked to the other side of the cage and I did not see them. But otherwise, nice job! I love the graphics.
It's easy to get stuck walking near walls. Also, lighting effects are buggy and often too bright. Graphics vere really nice though and reminded me of Chrono Trigger!
Wow. Very cool game! And in pico-8 nonetheless. Really enjoyed playing.
Best take on the theme I've seen so far!
Lovely concept!
Nicely complex.
Good writing and lovely picture. Kept me hooked till the end!
Nice and simple.
Ok, not much of a game, but funny. Nice tool btw!
Ok, it's a playable tower defense. I got ~600000 points, forgot to save the exact number. Gives off very unfinished game vibe though.
Very nice graphics. UFO controls are really sensitive though, almost impossible to be precisely where I want.
Great graphics! I wish there was something more to do besides running...
Cool style & music. Jumping feels good, but camera scrolling is a bit odd. Also, I found it too easy to die from flames, hitboxes could be more forgiving here. It was actually fun, even if a bit hard. Nice job!
Good take on the theme. A bit too fast for my taste, but a really nice game.
Nice! Really enjoyed this one. Could use some difficulty balancing, but challenge is enjoyable.
Nice. Escaped the lab! Graphical feedback of moves could be better, but overall it feels good to jump around.
Cool game! Hehehe. Loved the music and graphics.
Wow. Amazing style, lovely writing. One of my favourites in this LD.
Wow. Amazing style, lovely writing. One of my favourites in this LD.
Funny idea! Was a bit annoying not knowing how close to ships I can get.
Solid idea. Maybe a bit easy overall, but that's just my taste.
Beautiful spin on the classic game.
Whoa, trippy!
Really solid entry. A bit slow at the beginning, but I enjoyed it quite a bit after the first level.
Love it! Amazing graphics style and audio. Can totally see it being a success on mobile devices.
Amazing visual style, I really dig it. Gameplay is not bad too, everything feels complete and balanced. Very enjoyable!
Great idea and amazing implementation, good job!
Very short and there's too many forms. I think it would be much better with 3 shapes and more levels. Still, a decent game!
One of the best jam games!
Wow! The gameplay is quite good, really has this action-movie feel and puts you in "flow" zone. Also, good job on the graphics and sound.
I scored 154796m. A very playable entry overall, but I find it lacks juicyness and polish. It's not so easy to tell when you're about to hit something - or rather, it often seems you should hit a wall, but you dont. Music is very good though, I like it!
This could have been a cool game to play if just a few major issues were fixed. Camera should follow the drone, or just center on it - that would improve a lot. Also, there seems to be no penalty for killing civilians yourself.
I love everything about this, but especially the atmosphere.
Very cool game with some minor issues. Graphics style is lovely, and gameplay reminds if 90s PC platformers very much. The biggest issue for me was jumping on a tile, reaching it and then sliding off it, which felt unnatural in a platformer.
Was hard to understand what's happening at first, but help screen really helped. I like the abstract, almost cubist graphics style. The gameplay itself leaves something to be desired though, it really gets boring after the first 5 or so puzzles. Some shapes are so similar in size, that it's guesswork which goes where.
I think it's a cool game if you come with a right mindset. As it often happens to me with cookie clickers, I thought "oh no, I should not like it", then I ended up playing for good 15 minutes. The silly humour really made me chuckle a few times.
Very good looking and ambitious game. Perhaps, a bit too ambitious. I find overall polish and gameplay mechanics quite lacking. It looks like proper "serious game", but doesn't play like one. Beginning is very frustrating, I got killed within first minute perhaps 10 times.
Rough, quirky and cute graphics style, love it. I got seriously lost in the desert and didn't do much...
Couldn't understand what to do for a long time, then collecting "Death" got really tediuos. Game didn't run that good on Nexus 6, always being under 60 fps with quite unstable framerate, so I felt sick after 3 or so minutes of playing. Still congrats for making VR game, we need more of these!
Way too easy, I think. It was kind of cool to discover which elements don't hurt.
Cool little game, I love the destruction effect of enemies and trees.
Thanks you for comments everyone!
To answer your questions:
@BoneDaddy - there are only 16 rooms. It makes the game kind of short, but I like being able to beat it in 10 minutes, there's not that much content after all!
@springogeek - enemies immune to crossbow sounds like a bug. At least I didn't intend to make them immune and never encountered it myself. Please tell me if you see them again! Or was it a guy with red eyes? He's not immune, just a bit more ... persistent.
@rogual - blue enemies charge your weapon up. Hope knowing that helps to clear up weapon confusion!
@impbox - yeah, the weapons get somewhat better over time. Usually I tend to use sword in rooms 2-7, then crossbow in ~8-13, then the last weapon. There's still plenty of situations where you're out of charges and it makes sense to pick up a weaker weapon though.
Nice graphics, together with effects and sound this feels nicely juicy!
I was a bit confused with navigation in shop menu though.
I love sokoban puzzles, so this was very enjoyable. The first ones were a bit tedious but some of the later ones were really nice.
Some criticism - I didn't like puzzles with too many buttons and boxes. I find that smaller puzzles with less moving elements provide a better brain workout because you can fit it in your head and better plan moves ahead. Even smaller puzzles can be just as difficult! In this game sometimes I feel like it boils down to remembering which button does what.
Oh, and undo button would be very very useful!
I quite enjoyed this one! Very short but charming. What was the king talking about?
Btw, game gets displayed strangely non-center, at the left side of the screen.
Charming! As a fan of RoboRally, I really enjoyed this. Would be really nice to remove/edit parts of the sequence without restarting fresh. I also encountered a bug a few times where cat doesn't run when I play note next to it.
Love it. 5/5 for humour! I can totally relate to this rendition of networking.
Also, as a fellow countrymen - my email shouldn't be too hard to find, if you want to get in touch.
This game made me really angry. Don't get me wrong that's great!
Presentation and sound is top notch, very juicy. Idea is very cool too and I just love that main character is Quentin Tarantino.
Though what made me angry is repeating the same goddamn sections 100 times until I get the jump right. That might have been intentional, but I think you really need to show both active and inactive platforms all the time.
Anyway, good job!
Very impressive game! Kept me playing for awhile, which is not very usual with LD games.
I'm sure you'll get lots of positive comments and they are well deserved, but I'll write some minor complaints:
- Sections where you have to be quick to get under a door can get frustrating. It's totally fine to make them hard, I just don't feel I become better at them besides trying until I randomly succeed.
- It can be hard to quickly intuitively feel when I'm close enough to a button to press it. The helpful popup is helpful, but I find it comes up too slowly.
Anyway, great job!
Really missed some visual feedback when I get hit or I hit an enemy. Room swapping mechanic is interesting, but doesn't live up to much - I had no idea what different colors would do. Otherwise the game is alright, had some fun trying to survive past room 3!
By the way, works on linux just fine.
So, I consider this to be more of a toy than game right? It's very good to see such things in LD, too many of us try to stick to limiting principles of what a "game" should be.
Thanks for making it mobile friendly! Though it's not very comfortable to play on PC - you should at least let player use arrows and numbers on keyboard.
The game itself, I find too simplistic to really be enjoyable... Once I realized which attack to use on which enemy, it becomes monotonous. And it's not too hard to see a good short path to take to the exit.
Amazing graphics!
I feel that gameplay itself could be better balanced. Tactical decisions are not that interesting right now. It would be cool for more opportunities to use fire spell. I liked how I can attack diagonally though - it means with careful thinking I can mostly avoid getting hit. It would also be nice if all enemies moved at once - pauses between turns can get annoyingly long now.
But don't get me wrong, this is very impressive LD game, good job!
I get that this isn't a "high budget" LD game, but I quite like. Very simple idea, but solid implementation and highly playable. Good job for a first LD game. Works alright on my linux btw.
Whoa dude, this was trippy as hell! I ended up enjoying autoplay mode quite a lot.
Very glad this game exists.
Amazing graphics and atmosphere!
Gameplay itself is nice, but I must admit it wasn't loads of fun. A few times I got into a state where I had no energy and couldn't make more food. Maybe garden shouldn't need energy? Also it's very hard to visually tell what each machine does.
Fighting is very exciting! And it's interesting that you can't always see the enemies.
I'm not a fan of running back and forth between rooms though. "Oh, go to machine room again?!". And then I died along the way and had to restart. That got a bit annoying...
Simple, but done decently. Good fun for a few minutes!
Yay for pico-8! This was simple and really enjoyable.
