Super Dino Dino Attack by FrederickK 2015-08-30T04:35:00
was fun but sometimes I just continually died when I spawned :P

Really nice and polished :) I found it allot of fun.
Very cool and difficult. I loved the take on the theme.
Quite a nice game! I liked the idea, the main drawback that I found was how slow the game play was, but I think that could be preference :)
I liked the concept and It was an ok game as it all worked, but I wish there were something more unique about it :) I hope this helps.
It also took me a min to realize you were supposed to shake the people into his mouth and not drop the cars.
This was allot of fun and was very unique. nice work!
theme though?
I really like this game but believe it would be allot more fun to play on a touchscreen device :) as said by someone else. very polished and it works with the theme. Good job!
This was a cool game but was really difficult :P that is what kept me playing though and it was quite fun :D GG
This is a good concept and the graphics look quite nice I just had issues getting the controls to work well and even after full screening the game still found it difficult :) but I liked the original idea.
Nice game! I liked learning the mechanics of the creatures and trying to use them to pass the level.
got my heart racing a little ;) and it is a lot more polished than most other games. Overall I thought it was quite impressive that you pulled this off in 48 hours. (especially with that opening animation)
Good job!
I really liked this game :) have been a subscriber of yours on youtube for a long time now and was quite exited to see that you had also participated. I liked the mechanic however unfortunately I received this crash (the same crash as the person earlier):

Nice visual style and game idea, I really enjoyed it.
Simple, but is fast and fun however couldn't find the quit function so just forced closed it. is it a trap? :DD anyway I enjoyed my stay.
Really fun! I kind of wish you were able to do the wrong thing and get found out rather than being told that you couldn't do it though. Overall it was a very good game though.
Perfect :D I loved it! please build more levels and make a larger game with this concept ;)
PERFECT :D GG I loved it! the promotion screen was hilarious, the enemies were unique and the special abilities were allot of fun!
Does what it tries to do well and not too many surprises.
I really enjoyed it :)
Really liked the game concept and a clean style.
I quite liked it however allot of the time I didn't understand what some graphics were and I had 1 point still on my health when it said that I died.
otherwise though, the game was very fun. one of the better ones.
collisions are very off and jumping to the second floor at one point sometimes works, and sometimes doesn't so I'm unfortunately unable to continue but what I've seen looks promising, I just wish I could tell If I were successfully hitting with sound ques or something :)
Hey this was a really cool game! would have been better if there was a score or some drive to keep playing. but the mechanics of the game were well polished.
reminds me of the racing games on some older cellpohones with its three position driving. Could be a cool concept to bring a game that uses that style and expands upon it.
I think you have made a good game I believe you should aim to improve on your character design and very simple graphics despite the short time frame :D
I really loved how the game felt to play :) I loved the art style and thought that overall it was very polished for a 48 hour entry.
This is a decent start however there were a lot of ways to get out of the map and sometimes I would hit nothing yet still loose. I don't know why this would happen :)
Really cool entry! I loved every part even if the controls are quite hard to use perfectly.
Decent game throughout :)
Really strong entry. quite polished and even though I feel like the idea is similar to a VR game I saw recently I still believe this is a strong idea and game. just wish The controls were a little easier to use and that I could turn better when in slow motion :)
Thanks to all that have reported crashes and lag :) I have since fixed these (and a couple of typos)
@ranmaru90 yea that is a bug I found after the 48 hours that only happens I believe, if your screen is too small to fit the game window. if you click within the actual game zone (where there are no black bars and where the button was supposed to be) the button should still activate.
fyi: The bug occurs because I'm drawing the buttons on a gui layer whereas the mouse position is checked on the game layer and so I had to do calculations to check the location of the mouse's relative position. When the window gets shrinked, the gui layer scales but the game layer doesn't, hence why this bug is caused. I believe that the ludum dare rules allow for small bug fixes on things like this so I will upload a fixed version now.
Really good :) you have some bias from me as it brought back memories I used to love playing as a kid but can never find again when I look. I always wanted to re create it but have never had a good opportunity. I liked this re creation allot.
Really nice polished graphics and gameplay! I loved the concept too.
good to see a unity game that doesn't rely on the default buttons and menus :P I like the basic game play too but the controls could use work.
Really good work. I liked the art style and the music was good. one of the first games that I have played with decent controls :)
please take a look at any game you like and consider everything it does well then try and implement this into your game one by one. I think you will learn allot :)
Liked the game concept and had fun while playing. That's what matters and I think you have a good game here :)
Theme integration could have been better ;)
Great game! I loved the experience all round.
it functional and is fun but unfortunately it is just not finished enough and I assume this is because of the time limitations. I would have loved to see what you could have achieved with more time :)
I loved the concept and I played it for allot longer than most games :) very fun
Pretty fun game and simple to play :) I liked it's simple style allot and it reminded me a little of my game.
I really like the music and the game was fun :)
Nice puzzles but I wish you had explained that you couldn't get close to the edge :)
This was a really sweet idea! It may have been better to make it like the Dumb ways to die mobile game where you have to complete the challenges in a time period. or at least you could have made it switch to the next puzzle faster.
Funny enough for me to recommend this game to everyone :D I like the take on the concept and the simple but fun game.
funny animations and music. controls were all that confused me but it was a fun game anyway :)
Awesome! was so addicting and polished :)
Really cool quality game :)
Really nice in most places :) the end was very simple but funny :) over all I really liked it.
Cool concept and is funny but in the end the screen just when black then I continued to hear sounds but couldn't see anything
Awesome! really cool music and satisfying game play :D good work
really set the mood and story well with that musical background piece. I really enjoyed this, however the most game like part about it was trying to spot the new lines as they appeared :D
Awesome work :D the art is great and I love the animation at the end of each level... very well polished.
Perfect! :D hilarious, polished, great music, art, mood, and use of both themes :) great job
ha I was also planning on making a tamagotchi related game, but got distracted... lol anyway this is quite cool and polished :) I would have liked it more if the fights were more interactive though :D but it was still fun to play with pixel pets :P
Really fun too play :D good work. the lighting and style looks stunning too.
I love it :D it's an awesome concept and plays flwlessly as far as I could tell... well done!
I loved it! :P the tree grows very naturally... I just whish that I could view my resulting tree after playing :)
This was very simple and fun though. Good work
Really well made! I love the graphics and am impressed of your use of 3D in game maker :) it is very effective.
Very fun and beautiful!
Was a nice little challenge, however the puzzles mostly consisted of trying to use the mechanics instead of solving how to complete it. This ultimately ended up making it a little tedious :P The games mechanics and design however were very good :D
This was quite fun, but lacked a little challenge/variety. would probably have worked best as a mobile game actually as suggested by the name :D (even though it's imitating a handheld console)
nice and short but functional game :) I quite enjoyed it and can see it being quite fun if more polished. for instance often I was unable to see the pucks behind object and being able to move the camera would be nice... but it was still a nice game :) good job.
while the mood/graphics were really great and the theme was approached well I feel the game play didn't match. The main issue I found was that the focused energy lagged so far behind the mouse and seemed unable to work on enemies sometimes unexplained.
The game concept and idea is cool but I feel like there should be an explanation/reason that a tree is able to fire projectiles :) this is a nice start though
Really sweet, and very addicting... thanks for the awesome game.
Really cool :) I loved the gameplay mechanic and the game itself was very polished.
hahaha really funny and addicting... would have been cool to have seen some variety in people and maybe tie attributes :P this game deserves a full release to mobile or something
hahaha I just realized my earlier comment is irrelevant as I found this game via your mobile release post and didn't even realize it! I will download and play now! thanks :D
awesome game for an LD compo entry! awesome work
Really polished and immersive game! really good work :D I did however meet with a memory leak as the game crashed in level 6.
Really cool to play multiplayer and it was very addicting :) It became a matter of who could steal the other person's piece the fastest when they reached the next level :P We reached the number 4096 but decided that it was too unrealistic to reach 8192 and would take ages. Would be really cool if it had sounds and a way to see where others were in their progress.
Awesome! I love the atmosphere :D
pretty nice in most areas... I liked the child scream "Hey santa!" the animations and control explanation is really good too. very fun :)
This fit the theme very well looked nice and played well... only thing I had an issue with was how floaty the controls were however it did suite the style.
Awesome graphics and THE MUSIC! hahaha seriously though I really enjoyed it :)
Was simple yet a nice application of the theme and quite addicting when you get the difficult levels :)
"Awesome!" My cousins words not mine :) I also had a great time playing this game! it was very fun and addicting... well done.
Petty well executed :)
haha very funny concept and I loved the shaky legs well done :D
well considering this took you only 3 hours and it is very similar (game play wise) to a few game I have played from people that spent longer ... on art and so on, I think this has turned out really well :)
...Reminds me of how outside of LD the initial version of my first ever functional game "ALMA - rainbow climber" release was made in about 6 hours and it was less impressive than this at the time :P well done.
This deserves more ratings! I like how you implemented a story into a similar yet better executed version of many games in this LD. well done :D
very fun and quite addiction :D I liked the style and falling into the flowers at the end! my high score was 151
awesome and beautiful story telling ;) I enjoyed it very much.
Is a very pretty game and the atmosphere is great
lol "Pine have it your way!" But this game was really satisfying and well made... the art was really nice for the compo ;D My hat goes off to you.
hahaha three games in one... really nice use of two buttons as well :) understanding each game was a little difficult but I figured it out in the end and died peacefully... well done!
Tis a nice little game :P I played till he end but the screen just flashed white and closed... idk if that was supposed to happen? ...was that the surprise :D ??
Quite effective and is a well made generator.
I mean... you succeeded in making the point that rockets hate the moon so this game's a true success :D I just would have liked it be longer.
This game is really nice ;) I like the message and presentation behind it... but that character doesn't sleep, he hibernates! :P
This was really fun but after a while it became a little too repetitive, but I assume that would be different had you finished :P well done :)
Really well done! loved the animation and graphics... the ripple behind the boat looked cool as well :)
this was quite a nice game but I found that the collision box of the player was a little large, which made it difficult to avoid traps :)
otherwise I'm quite impressed with what you have done in the time that you had.
It was nice to see someone try something unique, thats more of a technical challenge/demo than a game, and even as a game it was still quite fun too play. A couple ideas though: maybe you could have it so you can absorb the red blobs that are smaller than you, as sometimes I just didn't see them when I was looking at the big ones :D And you already implemented the theme of growing well so I think you should have opted for multi direction controls instead as the left/right which feels quite limited :P its quite impressive what you could do with just shaders... I might have to look further into them at some time :D
Fun game however the controls can be a little glitchy when I hover my mouse over areas where the wolves can not go. really nice concept and polish though ;D
very simple and challenging :P twas quite fun.
Was a nice calm yet challenging game :) I really enjoyed it.
hahaha this was pretty funny, but I found it too short with not allot of thought gone into bugs or how the levels may be attempted by the user. also though the tricks were funny, this type of unexplained stuff can lead to people giving up on your game way too soon so you may want to work on making the correct route clear after you initially trick the player.
I love the use of 2 buttons :) I passed this entry 3 times in the list and kept telling myself to see what it was. And i'm glad I stopped :P although it can be annoying when it picks up a jump when you mean to walk, after playing a little I got the hang of it. I really enjoyed it.
hahaha this was great! I loved the control and uniqueness of this entry. the fighting mechanics were also very well done!
Pretty awesome game :) I would have loved to have seen the game with custom assets but it was still well made. I think you need a better way of ensuring the player doesn't fall off the map, because I played the game for a while riding along the side of the hill.
@in3orn Unfortunately this is a bug not with the game, but simply means your graphics driver does not support gamemaker glsl shaders properly. To fix this error apparently all you must do is install the latest 'direct X' version on your computer.
@theholychicken Thanks heaps :) and I used a rendering technique called metaballs. it's very simple and a quick google should show you how to do it.
@KayZ Yep Thanks ;), we have been trying to get our server administrators to look at this problem but cant get them to respond... It appears our site has been attacked/bombarded and ran out of bandwidth in a few hours. I will upload the files to a temporary server until this is fixed.
Server bandwidth has been temporarily increased :) so hopefully our site will stay active now.
@r8berto Thanks ;D I use Gamemaker Studio.
This is very nice... it had nice graphics and played very well. would definitely be better with sound but it was still quite addictive and fun ;)
oh noooO! I went right a little then left heaps and never met back up too the line... this is deep lol :) but I couldn't see the game, and from the comments it sounds as if you need to make the objective clear rather than hidden. but idk I just made it too the static.
Was a good game :) I think the controls became un-responsive at one point but that may have been an issue on my end, as It never happened again.
hahaha yea this was really nice... it became really difficult when they began to have multiple preferences :) I like the graphics and variation/addition of foods as the game progresses.
lol this was pretty unique... I liked the concept and art though. Quite a nice game :)
Pretty awesome game :D twas very hard yet still satisfying and I loved the style along with the zoom effect :)
Really good :) I like the art but I think the mood could be improved with music and the gameplay improved with a little variety in opponents... maybe this comes after getting higher scores but my highest was 10
The games main downfall was not being able to jump reliably from the elevator blocks... it just made the game too frustrating. however I found the remainder of the game very fun and well made, excusing a few un-responsive controls.
hilarious and unique... I love how the game has enough variation to keep you interested and surprised by the next mini game :P
pretty nice ;)
well I quite enjoyed this game until I found out that you have copied almost the entire thing without credit. I appreciate the effort but please at least give credit :)
I still voted fairly in case I have misinterpreted the situation.
Would be much better if the line range was limited. We found that when playing it multiplayer you were able to just move your attack node really close and cut off the other player, hence ending the game very quickly. It would also be good if you implemented a check for if the player has run out of moves or has lost. The game was however quite fun and I can see it being very successful if you gave it a little more polish :)
Fun game and mechanics... lol I wish I could say the same about the graphics but as a first game it is pretty well done :D
pretty fun but I feel like the two button control theme ultimately works against this game as I think a dedicated button would be easier to use when swapping the colours, but there is nothing really wrong with how you have it so good work :)
Really good :D I honestly haven't seen many good platforms this ludum dare because the 2 button control theme often ruins them but having fuzzy bouncing constantly was a good workaround to this limitation and made this short game very fun, instead of frustrating :D
Reakky good entry overall however the game and win conditions/lose conditions seem a little rushed :/ :)
I like the liquid interactivity and motion :) the game itself is quite simple and should have been polished with sounds and so on but was never the less still quite fun, and I love the interpretation of the theme :D
I love the art! :) and that you switch the scenery up for variety. It's a simple yet very effective game.
I liked the game-play at easy heaps :D green mode was really fun, however I think the red difficulty is beyond difficult and instead is impossible... idk maybe you can do it but I cant see whats ahead of me at all :D overall though it was a good looking, short and fun game.
awesome :) I like the idea, and the way you made the tail with all of it's leaves and things. it may made a little more sense had you animated the bud at the end to open when you fired and had it pivot to face the direction you were firing, however the game was still really fun ??
Congrats on what you accomplished in such a short time ;) tis cool to see that your first game was part of LD :P and this was a good use of the themes too.
This is a nice physics game and continues to be fun to play :) well done.
was quite fun :D why did it have to be so short! lol I'm only kidding I actually believe this was made even better by its length :) so many other LD entries get very repetitive and drawn out however I was still having fun by the end of this one! Good work
Great game ;D
I a pretty well made game however the objects should also spread further apart as they get bigger when they approach you so that the gap between objects doesn't shrink.
Most beautiful and polished game that I have seen so far! I loved the art and peacefulness of the seasons.
not perfect, but is playable and fun :) the lack of control (sliding around heaps) made it a little frustrating and the high lap number just caused the game to become a little tedious :P but it was still a nice idea and well made.
unfortunately the bugs and lag were the only issues for me in terms of gameplay... but having explanations would have also been helpful. If I ignored the lag and played what I understood... It was quite fun.
The game looks really nice but variety in the game is definitely lacking :) just a few new attacks and enemies would make a great difference... Making the weapons/attack sync with the beat of the music would work amazingly in a game like this.
really well made! congrats.
The art is really nice! and I love the control system :D
Was a nice game and you have achieved quite a lot for the 48hr compo. I assume that you interpreted the theme as using only one GameMaker room and simply built an entire game without changing rooms? unfortunately I cant download the game source for some reason to check, but you should probably put it in your description so that people who don't use Gamemaker understand. Otherwise it was a very fun albeit difficult game.
hahaha I can imagine this being a cool game about discovering all the hidden things you can do to the room. I'm quite curious as to what the Easter egg is :D but this is a good start to what could be a neat game.
Loved it :) I like the ability to upgrade the weapon too, the graphics are polished and I could easily sit here playing this forever to get the upgrades lol.
The game is ok but could be much better with only minor tweaks. for instance (as others have already stated) the jumping needs work, but other things like how close you have to be to a switch to interact with it and my mouse should be locked to the game window while playing as it kept getting stuck at the edge of my monitor or onto my second monitor.
Really nice all round. I was a little concerned that passing a level would be too determined by random chance but there was actually a fair amount of problem solving to be had.
This looks like a lot of fun once your used to the controls, (I would find it easier with the up or space key as jump) but I'll be sure to come play it again later and try master it because I love the concept and the splash animations are quite satisfying :)
Absolutely spot on! this had me cracking up at my own clumsiness. in one run I had placed the vase perfectly without hitting a thing only to knock over two relics on my way back to get the next item. The music was great and the character's was hilariously over dramatized. Definitely my favorite LD so far in term of enjoyment.
This was a cool story, I did like the challenge of trying to escape with both characters at the end, but I couldn't do it so I just reached the ending with the prisoner but still had fun doing it. I did notice there were a couple small glitches in the graphics but apart from that the game seemed to function well.
nice game, it was very difficult to control when you had to jump between the computer and the cannon but it was quite fun. the perspective also confused me a little at first but once I was familiar with the game it was a lot of fun.
This was really fun, I loved the concept and the puzzles were perfectly balanced to be challenging but quick. The art and even the whistling was great. I love the humor behind having weapons stored in such an innocent looking room.
This is a pretty sweet game. I like the pacing. It could be cool to have more variety in how the power ups behave. for instance the flame thrower is very similar to the laser atm, but you could make it catch the enemies on fire which could cause a chain reaction and catch others on fire :D
Neat game, The pixel art is great! while sound would add so much to this the game play is still really smooth and easy to learn making it fun to keep playing without getting frustrated.
This game is great! congrats on the win in both innovation and overall!
Awesome job! I love the art style and game concept so much. this has to be one of the most interesting games I've come across of yet. Multiple times I found myself with no clue how to move on but that just made it even more compelling. especially since the game goes so much faster when you've done it a couple times.
While this game isn't finished, it was still fun to tear apart the room and play with the physics for as long as I could without dying :D I would also love to have seen the story, but the mood and game play was still evident, and fun
I like the simple combat and stealth aspects a lot and it help this game be more than just a test of skill but I feel like this game would be way better with more than one room so I feel like the theme hindered you more than aided you. of course there is only so much you can do in 48 hrs and the game was still satisfying to play :D
I loved playing this game with the couple people that joined from twitch (in thebrickanator on twitch). The only downside was there was no indication on how to skip the cut scenes which makes it difficult to understand, and it needs a button to start a rematch. but the game play and graphics were perfect! I can see this being a really exceptional game given some play testing :)
The art and animations are top notch! It was hard to tell how I died a couple times but other than that I had a lot of fun playing.
The game looks great but even in the post jam version it is very difficult to not slide off 1 wide blocks and have to repeat a part over and over.it doesn't seem fair if you have already made the jump. love the dog character though and the games physics mechanics feel really well coded and reliable.
The story in this was great! thanks for recommending me your game. I played it in this video: https://www.youtube.com/edit?video_id=XBEBBc-cfYc Unfortunately I only realized after playing that the blue button was shocking the player but it didn't effect the outcome too greatly. I agree that the ending would have been more clear if I had noticed that blue was shocking/killing me but it wasn't necessary to make me question my ability to make decisions for myself. I loved the parallel between the mouse and the player and wish I had talked about it in more depth during the video. Overall I really enjoyed this game and hope I did it justice in the video, thanks for sending it in.
Wow lol this is a cool idea :D reminded me of the extinguisher scene in WALL-E. It seems like a very unsafe fireplace... but the game was a lot of fun.
This is a perfect use of the theme, Well done! I really enjoyed playing it end listening to the comical sound effects :D
Thanks Guys, I just discovered this bug a moment before I saw your posts :D so I have uploaded the fix and hopefully it wont happen anymore.
Sorry, I had taken the link down for a moment while I uploaded the new version. I'll add a link from another source though too, just to be sure.
ok so that was a rough start but I believe the connection timeout was simply to short, and so people with slightly higher latency couldn't connect, but I have tested it with someone overseas now and it seems to work fine. thanks everyone for letting me know :)
@DrSnuggles Yep :D that's a good sign, it simply means that no one was online to join you. unfortunately I was asleep so couldn't have joined the room. Thanks for giving it a second go though, I should be able to join for the next 13 hours so if you (see this reply and) want to give it another shot I'd love to vs you.
I've had a lot of fun joining those that have played thus far, especially with those who I versed in a twitch stream with multiple players and I dont know about you @drury but Sausage fingers are my favorite type of sausage... and fingers.
For those that have suggested changes. I'm looking into applying all of your ideas in my Post LD build, and will be porting the game to android along with updating the server to be hosted by whoever is online, instead of from my home PC.
Thanks Hermetic, I haven't seen that bug before but I'm guessing the character probably spawned outside the room somehow, thanks for letting me know :) the colours at the bottom are intended and show the flag colours of previous winners. I understand this isn't clear so I'll be sure to work on this. The resizing of the window is enabled because I had been preparing the game to be released on android and was testing resolution scaling.
Thanks Leeman :D The climbing up the screen is in fact intended behavior, but I appreciate the feedback! It wasn't intended that you can climb forever but I left it in the game because I found it sometimes made for more strategic gameplay. Ideally I'd like to have made sure a block intercepted your path up the wall a little more often to insure that you have to find an alternate route more often. (This will be fixed in my Post LD version)
This was great fun, It was very challenging for me to wrap my mind around controlling the third screen so I'm so glad you added the auto play feature :) your description sums it up perfectly and I found myself jamming to the rhythm of sounds created by the autoplay which turned out to be surprisingly tuneful.
This is an amazing entry, I watched you play it on a stream and just decided to play it for myself now, I think perfectly executes the theme, gameplay and humor so well. I also loved the sound design which did a great job at making it immersive.
While I like the concept, The game was far to difficult for me, and even in the coloured version I still had trouble navigating the level because of the unreliable physics. Was it simply time constraints that prevented you from making a goal or did you want to prank us lol :D
Excelent game, I just upload this video of me playing it: https://www.youtube.com/edit?video_id=XBEBBc-cfYc (My second time playing it.) Ihe games concept, graphics and gameplay execution really impressed me, I loved the hotel reviews and the characters voices and the hectic gameplay meant that even after playing multiple rounds it was still very challenging and fun. Thanks for recommending it to me :)
I just discovered I gave you the wrong video link by mistake, so here is the corrected one: https://youtu.be/XBEBBc-cfYc
Sorry about that ;)
The sound was great you had me jump and laughing at myself at the first scare, the audio was great too but I found it very unsettling and had to stop before finding the key. I never touch 3D in GM anymore because of its limitations but you have made them work in your favor! nice work.
This was quite a fun game concept but I do think that it is probably too fast to play strategically and instead you can only try and prevent blocks from getting trapped. It would be a lot of fun if the elf could carry gifts and move blocks that were under other presents :)
Very interesting and its a compelling story ;) It would be nice to receive a little feedback from your actions, so you don't feel like you're just trying random combinations. I do love the sense of humor though :D
I love how the solution was never what you expected and the game feels very well polished. nice work :D
Neat game, I love the platforming and bouncing mechanics! the explosions and animations were fun, and there was a nice challenge in trying to get to the different parts of the level. Really cool game
This was a very fun and addicting game. The graphics are really all I saw that could have been improved, but my gameplay of it can be found here (its the third game I played): https://www.youtube.com/edit?video_id=XBEBBc-cfYc It would be cool to see some variations in room size/shape too but I look forward to playing the local multiplayer version. If you let me know when it's released I'd like to try play it again in another episode. Thanks for recommending your game!
I just discovered I gave you the wrong video link by mistake, so here is the corrected one: https://youtu.be/XBEBBc-cfYc
Sorry about that ;)
This was good fun :D simple but pretty well made. The pixel style was unique and while I don't know if it would be a great choice for a full game release, it works well for Ludum Dare.
