LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

Crump Rush by OnlySlightly 2015-05-03T21:05:00

Very nice!

The movement is good and fluid, but the controls are a bit frustrating. It would be nice if there were more tolerance for clicking on the green balls and/or you could just right-click in a direction to fire instead of having to click on the actual block.

Btw, I couldn't get the post-jam version to run. It was just a black screen.

KNIGHTS of the TURNTABLE by Pomb 2015-04-21T01:20:00

Pretty fun multiplayer, graphics are great.

The Gallery by Kavehes 2015-04-26T21:00:00

One of my favorite entries -- creative and well designed. I love the way the patrons are drawn to match their preferences. The financial system based on auctions is unique and challenging. Unfortunately, due to mismanagement, I ended up with only 1 painting in my gallery and universally hated...

One minor complaint - the responsiveness of changing the arrow directions is not great. I sent people the wrong direction a couple times.

Dr. U and the bottomless PIT by farwyler 2015-05-03T19:47:00

Yes! Very polished, would make a great mobile game. My favorite feature was pressing up to pick up the phone for the instructions.

The music surprised me, as it contrasted with the art style.

The controls are nice, and the umbrella functioning as both attack and defense is brilliant.

Add in some progression (more enemies, obstacles, etc.) and a bit more polish, and you'd have a marketable mobile game.

Not Nice Knight by Nebulaic Toaster 2015-05-03T18:38:00

Great! Would be nice if you could see what you're actually going to say rather than just categories.

Farm Fury by ironleonem 2015-05-03T19:37:00

I love this concept. The controls are very stiff, which is a frustrating source of difficulty. I would love to see this idea developed further and polished.

SNIFF by dyfer 2015-04-21T02:24:00

The effects are awesome. The mouse controls are a little buggy.

CRUD by block97 2015-05-03T18:45:00

Cool! Very satisfying mechanics. A little short though. I wish there was a greater variety of objects to suck up.

Bullet Time by BulletsArePeopleToo 2015-04-21T01:54:00

Thanks @internetpaulicy for the tip on the realtime lighting. We removed most of the lighting so it should be significantly less laggy.

LD33 — You are the Monster

Night of the Monster by Thinkofdeath 2015-08-26T01:29:00

Using the moon to indicate time is great

Devil's Thoughts by ponk 2015-08-26T00:50:00

This is a really interesting idea. I'm not sure I understand the mechanics here but this concept should be further developed. Also, the drawing suits the idea really well.

Flappy Monster by scriptorum 2015-08-26T21:57:00

54.94 seconds! The rng makes this game very tough.

Goomba Simulator 2015 by LandoSystems 2015-08-26T00:43:00

"This is Ludum Dare so we won't make you start over." Thank you. Well done.

Intergalactic Love Machine by Slothmachine 2015-08-26T00:17:00

Awesome writing and graphics and art. Especially Tina.

Having to restart every time made it take forever to beat though.

Of Glorious Nation by Xinelu 2015-08-25T03:43:00

So can you take money from minorities infinitely and make infinite tanks? It seems that way. I made 100+ but didn't have nearly that many tanks for the RTS portion. RTS controls felt kind of buggy too. Could be a pretty fun dictator simulator if things work a little smoother.

Inokan by gillenew 2015-09-02T15:43:00

Great graphics and mood. Could not figure out how to consistently jump high enough to reach many of the platforms.

MadMonsterMassacre [MMM] by AwesomeAlliterationAlliance 2015-09-02T16:12:00

Great artwork, funny, awesome, addictive. Killed 3800+ enemies.

Controls could be a bit better - it was a little frustrating to have to left click to activate the attacks. If you could just left click to shoot fireballs and use the three buttons to immediately fire the other attacks, I think it would be even better.

Wrecking Blob by TheBullet 2015-09-02T15:51:00

The sound effects, particle effects, and screen-shake all make knocking down buildings very satisfying.

WEAKER BOWSER BROS by JHM 2015-08-25T03:46:00

The music was by far the best part. Cool idea.

Cvltists and Crusaders by mooncalf 2015-08-25T03:51:00

10/10 would splat Travis again

Dude, Stop by Patomkin 2015-09-04T22:01:00

Ya know, Chrome doesn't support your game, so maybe that should have been the evil option lol

LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

HamsterX by UntitledQ 2015-12-15T04:53:00

My favorite entry yet! Got to around 3000... how high does it go?

Frogtale by rzuf 2015-12-18T22:08:00

Love the inventory. You should get a bonus for beating the game without "Shame". :)

Unknown by Eshford 2015-12-19T21:54:00

Really good look, nice music, and fun.

I'd suggest making the red/green buttons different shapes (arrows) or on different tracks. It can be a bit hard to keep track of which color is which button without other visual cues, especially on the hard difficulty since you don't really have time to look at the key.

Other than that, this is excellent!

Arc by ChuiGum 2015-12-16T23:09:00

Don't really care for having to remember which color is which power-up, but this is otherwise perfect. I will definitely be coming back to this after the judging period.

I'd like to see an AI play this... I'm curious if it's possible or even likely to get into unwinnable situations.

They Call It Lucy by kiv 2015-12-17T18:38:00

I love games that make you explore to find the mechanics. Sadly, I ended up beating this without any understanding of the game other than the two planets that make you rotate.

Great visuals and sound.

Bellows by TaylorAnderson 2015-12-15T04:18:00

A lot of fun. Looks and sounds great!

On one playthrough, I don't think I missed any bubbles, but I still died because it was too long between bubbles...

[JJJ] - Jolly Jail Jumper by AwesomeAlliterationAlliance 2015-12-19T21:18:00

My favorite game yet. The animation, music, sound, and mechanics are all perfect. The level design is also great. It throws you right into the hard stuff, which I love.

Also, the detail in the backgrounds is awesome! The hanging spiders, the dejected guards... I think I saw a unicorn in a cloud somewhere, but I was too zoned in to the gameplay to be sure. It all really added to the feel.

I also love the fact that the main character has different running animation for both outfits.

6 stars out of 5, 11 points out of 10, awesome work.

Billy the Winter Pinocchio Elephant by BulletsArePeopleToo 2015-12-19T15:35:00

Everyone, thank you for the feedback. :)

@Dohxis, WebGL version is up now.

Billy the Winter Pinocchio Elephant by BulletsArePeopleToo 2015-12-19T17:07:00

@dcRfj15, Thanks! The Windows executable should be fixed now.

Repulsion by DieBackStudios 2015-12-16T22:05:00

Excellent. It's a lot more challenging than it looks at first. :)

I know the theme is two-button controls, but I think having a third separate button for the switch would make the game a bit less frustrating. Maybe consider releasing a post-jam version with an extra button?

Anyway, great work.

Only two ways by blackbird806 2015-12-16T22:57:00

"Because now it's the same but invisible" lol

Really a brain-twister to have to think about your inputs changing. Would love to see this mechanic expanded upon. Goes great with a little fourth-wall breaking humor.

Awesome work.

Two buttons to save the city ! by LavWa 2015-12-15T04:01:00

Wow. Really amazing how fun this is for something so simple. Smart design with the X-ing out of numbers on misses.

Broto by risingdarkstudios 2015-12-20T17:27:00

Hey nice entry. I like the growing controls but I wish you could see how many stones you had left to hit to until you lose.

Fyi, I love Rise of the Valkyries, but you should probably opt out of the audio category since it's a 3rd party asset.

Good work!

LD35 — Shapeshift

The Furniture is Alive by Bemmu 2016-04-23T00:10:00

Couldn't play it well cuz I'm used to inverted mouse but still like the concept. Never going to look at my furniture the same away again.

Shapeshift Racer by 02fc.exe 2016-05-05T03:30:00

Very nice visuals, especially on the title screen! It would be great to see some other environments in this style.

I think the movement might be more satisfying if the car actually turned a little instead of just sliding left-to-right.

Cool entry - would love to see more.

Polyshift by keyboardmonkey 2016-05-04T14:35:00

The shapes and the transitions are very cool. It's more fun than you'd expect for how simple it is. Sometimes at the end, it felt like there wasn't even enough time to press the arrow keys enough times to switch to the right shape. I got 89% though! Cool entry.

SandShifter by nesis 2016-04-28T20:37:00

Cool mechanic wish it had more puzzles.

Spirit of the Ancients by Orion Dev 2016-04-24T05:38:00

Looks like it could be interesting. Would like to see the post-jam version if you make one.

Slime Quest by QuexD 2016-04-23T01:08:00

Fun cute and short game. Really enjoyed the music as well. Only issue I have is I keep trying to press space to jump and I rocket off the map haha.

Sergei's Virus by avinashd 2016-05-09T00:33:00

My favorite entry of LD35... I laughed out loud when Sergei made his final request.

My only complaint is that the coding window can't be resized. By the end, I had a line over 200 characters long, and it was a little unwieldy to have to scroll to edit.

I want to see more games like this!

The Killer's Apprentice by PaulJs 2016-04-23T20:18:00

Getting a timeout when I try to play your game. Seems the site is down :(

The Materialistic Shift by XAND 2016-04-22T23:57:00

Overall a decent puzzle game. Would have loved some background music though.

SHAPE.SHIFT by BulletsArePeopleToo 2016-04-19T20:39:00

@AdamsMcCall Thanks!

We were a little concerned that the game's connection to the theme was weak... It's kind of hard to see, but when you shift dimensions, you shift shape (between a long rectangle and a tall rectangle). Also, you shift shape when you attack.

Pyburet by spaghetti_pants 2016-05-04T15:12:00

I love this entry. The mechanics are surprising and the ending is great. At first I thought the warping was a glitch, but then I realized it was the central mechanic. So cool.

I wonder - was warping to the top of the platform even if you're not on it originally a glitch and you worked the level design around it? Or did you plan it like that from the beginning?

Also, what is "Pyburet"? An anagram for "puberty"?

Wayang by Arnage 2016-04-29T20:44:00

Very cool. I like the design of the last level, but I got a bit frustrated because I has to fiddle around with the pieces for a while after I had solved it before it recognized the solution.

Bricked by Mermelada Games by mermeladaGames 2016-04-24T06:31:00

I like the idea of changing between shapes to get through the sections and how some sections have multiple solutions. Changing to airplane controls was a little confusing to me though. It seems like you teleport to the ceiling when you use airplane.

Escape from Shapeshift Dungeon by edelmaneric 2016-04-24T06:37:00

Pretty interesting puzzle game. Movement was a little confusing because if i shift into an item i cant move but then if I shift something into me then I can move again (as the item). Also 10/10 on the plant/chair graphics.

A Suttle Haze by Shael 2016-04-24T00:28:00

Disappointed there wasn't more. Had a really nice mood to the game and then it abruptly ended, unless I missed something. I'm guessing time constraints were a factor. Would like to check out a post-jam version some time.

Shapegrammer by APantaloni 2016-05-07T23:35:00

Wow this is a great entry.

I love that the key-to-shape mapping changes every round. The game never gets easy.

It took me a minute to realize that all of the figures are facing left. Knowing that helps a lot when it gets faster - there's not any time to look at the guides in the corners. But it's still hard to quickly translate the direction they're facing to the right key. It's especially difficult with the more horizontal figures, like the fish and the dog (I think it's a dog). The standing figures like the man and the giraffe are much easier - you just point in the direction of their head.

Smooth animation, great UI, very polished all around. I just realized that "press [down arrow] to begin" is written in a font made from tangram pieces - slick.

I'll keep coming back to this one,... and I'm gonna beat Tommy's score :)

Pluto's Tears by kestrelgames 2016-04-29T21:02:00

Awesome!

Actually, we made a similar game (eat-everything-to-get-bigger-until-you-eat-the-Sun) for LD33 last August. It's called Have a Cow. You should check it out.

One feature I would really like here is for the camera to zoom out whenever you level up. It might help movement be easier at bigger sizes, and add to the satisfaction of growth.

The writing and mood make this one of best entries I've played yet. Great game!

Don't loose your head! by PelvicThruust 2016-04-29T21:26:00

Wow. A lot of games this LD have involved changing your shape to fit through things. This is the best one I've played!

It is smartly balanced as the score encourages you to spread out but the holes require you to tuck in. The blood spilling out is a funny touch.

The controls can be a little tough because it's not always easy to grab the body part you want to grab. Also, it would be nice if the exact amount of time you have left to change shape was more clear.

All in all, this is an awesome entry! One of my favorites.

LD37 — One room

levelone by dietzribi 2016-12-14T07:09:00

Wanted nothing more than to get in that door!

Rewind by gontzalve 2016-12-14T15:56:00

Great idea, art, and music! I love the simple mechanics. I really wanted to beat it, but unfortunately I couldn't...

I kept running into a bug where the character would run backward when I pressed spacebar, which would invariably get me killed.

Aside from that issue, this is an awesome entry!

Furni-Chore by AgentParsec 2016-12-14T07:20:00

Only complaint is that I didn't feel it captured the spirit of "one room" since there are many rooms but that being said it was quite fun, even though I am stuck on 14!

One Room With Ladders in VR by kmausser 2016-12-16T20:37:00

Cool entry. I really wanted to beat it, but it was too hard for me to do so. I got about halfway up I think.

The reflections all around you were cool, and I liked how they helped you see how far you've progressed.

Moving Day by Phobos001 2016-12-14T07:05:00

Relocated house on top of neighbor. Very realistic. :D

The Recursive Dollhouse by Omiya Games 2016-12-14T07:24:00

Very very creative use of the theme that technically keeps you in one room the entire time. Also enjoyed that it wasn't too hard to keep track of where you were/needed to go.

The Nights by Rscar 2016-12-14T07:17:00

I only made it to the 7th night :(

RoomZoom by TheSambassador 2016-12-16T21:07:00

I love that you actually have to move around in space rather than just teleporting everywhere, as is so common in roomscale games. I like that the game scales to the size of your room and the use of semi-transparent walls to let the player see their boundaries. The graphics are simple but perfect for showing the player what's going on, which is great for a prototype like this.

Excellent entry!

Royal Rise (Online Multiplayer) by thebrickanator 2016-12-14T07:44:00

Ridiculously fun, I enjoyed this game a ton! Playing it during a stream turned it into a madhouse as everyone was hopping in to play. Very impressive for only having 22 hours.

Last Call by BulletsArePeopleToo 2016-12-16T22:41:00

Thanks everyone for the feedback!

@Big Cow, fyi, all the sound effects were recorded by us - that part was a lot of fun! And that was something we'd never done before in previous jams. But we used music by Kevin MacLeod, which is why we opted out of the audio category.

FIIL Mark 37 by martincohen 2016-12-16T05:09:00

The atmosphere and art for this game was excellent

Mischievous Room VR by chinnie 2016-12-16T21:27:00

Awesome experiment in VR flight! I found myself flying around the room for several minutes after catching all the faeries, just to enjoy the controls.

At first, it was a bit unsettling... Rushing toward the walls made me feel uneasy, like I was going to fall. But once I got used to it, I loved it. I hope this flight concept is developed into a full game.

Great work!

Claim Your Color by tybantarnusa 2016-12-14T15:42:00

Great mood and fun, tense gameplay! I love that you hide the scores in the last 30 seconds - it gives the ending some suspense.

Now we need a multiplayer version!
