Maaaan, this game begs for music and sounds! =) Adding Adlib SFX and Music and could easily see this as being a early 90's VGA shareware hit! The challenge was on the right spot!

Unfortunately, doesn't work. When I tried running from terminal, got this error. Mac Mini late 2012 running OSX Sierra Captura de ecrã 2017-05-16, às 23.33.04.png
Java needs more games like yours to dispel it's bad name on multimedia. I really enjoyed it! That being said, I had some weird issues with input on OSX; sometimes, it would not answer to key presses. Other than that, a fun arcade challenge!
I was alone in this small world =( Also, somehow, I managed to cross the road, but when I tried to cross back, I was flying! Loved that you took proper care to give it an Icon and splash graphics!
At first it looked like it wasn't playing with theme, until I came from the other end of the world and realized it was a small world, after all. AMAZING game! My favorite so far!
WebGL link seems to be broken?
Very nice game - but man, it's brutal! =) Solid and very well made - congratulations!
To play it on mac, I had to go inside the .app and give it execution permissions. Other than that, works fine =) Very well made, but I must admit it's not my thing. Congrats
Solid entry! Well worth the download - and played out of the box (contrary to many Unity entries). Loved the simplicity in the effective graphics and audio.
Holy mother of god! You went legit with the retro vibes! Now I feel like a farce haha!
Anyway - nice job! Feels very well finished and polished. But damn it's hard! =)
Very nice idea! But unless you took a slanted picture of a blank paper, you probably had your pens go over the paper and into the table. Oh, wait... ;-P Good job - very solid and brisky. Handles very well.
Damn, that was a sick parallax scrolling! Very nice game!
Keyboard controls doesn't seem to work on OSX? It's not the first GDX game to fail on this here. Still, loved the concept and the name!
Hah! Amazing intro! Nice game! For a while I thought you would make us sit trying the entire spectrum of combinations - thank god for the tip! Contratulations!
5/5 in every category! At first, it seemed like yet another "crash landed on a small planet, gotta collect ship pieces", but then I understood the concept at play and man...what a unique twist! loved it! Also, very well executed! Congratulations!
Simple but quite fun - and very well made!
Updated the game to better handle keyboard events
Updated again. The Ludum Dare version is finally on par with native versions.
Updated to make it playable on mobile, with touch controls.
Thanks! I will eventually get back to it and fix this aspect. I was so displeased with the collision that I even considered removing the other cars. the amount of work put into rendering those convinced me to keep it, tho.
I had more courses planned - I might get back and add it. and a proper ending? yeah, lots of plans :)
Did some tweaking to address the issues still plaguing the game. Now the enemy cars are grayscale sprites and collisions will make the enemy car leap ahead with more room to the player to manouver away from it.

@takusan maybe a temporary glitch? seems to be working fine for me. What browser did you use to try?
regarding the "doing in C++" thing, I might even try to port it to MS-DOS eventually :-)
Gotta admit that while Outrun was the main inspiration, I was really aiming for the graphical style of TopGear
@rubel-nmb - that's weird! And you're not the first person to tell me this, but I can play it fine from the link...
@gozz - my original plan included a "select your music" screen, just like in Outrun...but then I realized I have exactly 0 songs I could use with this game ;-P But yeah, music would certainly help making the mood!
@jeremy-ryan and @symmsaur - since the rendering was all homebrewed, like in the old days, it's kinda of wonky to properly position things where they were supposed to be; thus, the grass, your car and other cars are *almost* where those were supposed to be, but not quite...
@izunah, at first, I thought about adding a proper ending, but after a while I said to myself "meh, it's a small world!"
@guitarbro if I were a guitarbro, maybe the game would be more musical ;-P
@joemid thats quite bizarre! also surprising that it runs on Safari at all - I didn't test it (despite also using a Mac). And the 7800 is such a underrated machine...
Thank you all, guys!
As promissed, I'm porting the game to MS-DOS. And it's coming along quite nicely!
