LD24 — Evolution

Germa by Whiteclaws 2012-08-28T00:23:00

I really enjoyed this. The controls threw me off for the first few times due to the lack of instructions, but once I worked it out it was actually really good.

It also made me have to play differently to most games (I'm normally fairly run and gun), which was a nice change. My best was wave 7.

Not the most friendly for colour blind people, but that's hardly your fault. ;)

The background music is amazing, and the gameplay is fun too.

The life of Cat by Amoaeba Junior 2012-08-28T00:59:00

Good game, I liked it. I didn't rate you for sound since I had music playing at the same time and completely missed the sounds until right at the very end.

The only thing I'd have a slight moan about (and it is only very slight), is the fact that the cat moves soooooo slowly on the last part. I understand why, but it may have been better to speed up the movement slightly throughout all the levels, so you still get the feeling of it being slower, but it's not quite as painful. Well done :)

DNA Soup by Prealpha 2012-08-27T23:01:00

Nice game, but I did find one crash bug. Upon selecting a piece of DNA, then moving it outside the grid it crashes. As long as you play it properly and don't misclick then it's fine though, so it isn't much of an issue. Good work.

A great game! Not quite sure how the theme fits into this other than the name, so I decided not to give a rating for the theme since it's likely I'm just missing something.

Warspace by TaslemGuy 2012-08-28T12:22:00

It took me a little while to figure out the controls since it didn't say them anywhere that I could find, but once I worked that out it was a really enjoyable game. I didn't really see how it linked into the theme though.

Barrel Roll by omaha 2012-08-28T01:19:00

This was quite entertaining. I kept failing on level three though, but that's just be being rubbish rather than a fault with the game. The audio is a nice start, but it could probably do with being a longer section since it sounds really repetitive when it loops over.

Nice work :)

Ligh7zIncrement: Thanks!

thewiseguy99: Yeah, I understand what you mean, and I should have thought about that while making it, it only would have been 4 more lines. Sorry about that.

Uberi: The best tactics I've found so far is just to run away and spam space bar whenever anything comes near you.

mdkess: The animation was something I had planned to include, but I ran out of time unfortunately. The same thing for the buggy physics. During early testing it seemed to work fine, but by the time I noticed the issue there was already a lot of things based around it that would have needed to be ever so slightly tweaked in order to fix it which, again, I didn't have time for. I'll consider fixing it up and posting a post-compo version sometime soon though.

Timster: Thank you for playing :D

Doubt by rxi 2013-12-16T19:53:00

Even though I got stuck in a couple of places, I love this. The musics and graphics are both great and work really well together.

Rocks-n-Blaster by HuntTheWumpus 2013-12-20T22:34:00

I really quite enjoyed this, and there seemed to be a good amount of content. I gave up on map 10 though, because I kept getting stuck on corners.

In fact, the controls were my only problem with the game. WASD would have been a nice option to have, since I'm more used to moving with my left hand now. It also would have been nice if you'd made the movement snap to the grid (still smoothly sliding between them), as that way there wouldn't have been the problem fitting through gaps.

Overall a good entry, though.

Super Pew-Pew by Charlie Hadden 2013-12-16T15:51:00

sam1317, What's not working for you? The links all work fine for me.

Super Pew-Pew by Charlie Hadden 2013-12-19T23:18:00

I've just uploaded new packages that fix a memory leak. That should solve the issues people have been having with it crashing after playing for a while.

Of course, as per the rules, that's the only thing the update changes.
