LD28 — You Only Get One

One minute to see the world by pinion 2013-12-17T20:56:00

I quite liked this one! Really simple but beautiful visuals, which actually made me want to see all of the world.
Would have been nice if it was somewhat bigger so you could not actually see everything in one run.
Also, the player could have used a little more contrast with the background, I frequently lost track of him after looking elsewhere.

Lumen by Nelien 2013-12-20T14:54:00

Wow, you are right. Our games' core mechanics are very similar. Except this one is way more polished presentation-wise. Love the mood set by the audio and visuals.
Only problem I had was that I sometimes could not quite tell the dangerous spikes apart from random harmless shrubs. A higher visual distinction would have been nice.
Also, I would have loved to see some reward for getting through to the end. Maybe escaping the cave?
Apart from that, great entry!

Glide by Alexbrainbox 2013-12-17T21:40:00

Nice one!
Simple concept, solid execution.
At times, I found it quite difficult to estimate which circle I would attach to. Maybe an indicator, as to which one is closest to the player at any time would be helpful.
Also, I would have loved to see the graphical style from the menu return ingame. Circles look better with outlines, and one-colored backgrounds are kinda boring...
Apart from that, I liked the aesthetics and presentation very much.
No lags on my end.

LD29 — Beneath the Surface

Deep Diver by Valandre 2014-05-07T15:56:00

This was just great in every aspect, I enjoyed it very much. Thanks for making it! :)

SWAN QWOP by AtkinsSJ 2014-05-09T16:21:00

Oh no, I got stuck in an infinite loop of ribbit! :D
Nice little fun game, although I didn't see the challenge in staying above the surface as much as not getting stuck in an awkward position...

Game of Roots by BubuIIC 2014-05-08T22:56:00

This was really good! Nice concept, and really engaging.
I loved infinitely splitting my roots until the whole screen was filled with them. Also, I really enjoyed the music.
And a game about roots gets a bonus by default :D (I made one, too)

Cull Shot by halogenica 2014-05-07T13:41:00

Really innovative concept. And well polished too, good job!

Heaving of the Depths by Christina Antoinette Neofotistou 2014-05-06T17:19:00

Great art! You should definitely keep working on this.

Skyboy by IonProgramming 2014-05-04T12:12:00

Great music! Not sure if it really fit the gameplay... but hey, great music!
Also, I loved rocketing as far as I could into the sky by just shooting down. :D

Infantile Oceanic Feeling by andreimarks 2014-05-14T13:23:00

I really enjoyed experimenting and observing how the different lifeforms behave and interact. Nice visuals and audio, too. Great job!

Dark Depths by jwin 2014-05-13T18:41:00

I have to admit, I was expecting another one of those uninnovative submersible shooters. But this really was a pleasant surprise. Managing the different functions was really enjoyable and I really liked the somewhat slower pace of it (I didn't play the Post-Compo version)
Great job!

sirtet by ahnt 2014-05-03T21:10:00

This is great! Love the idea.
Also, congrats on successfully reversing the gameplay while still keeping the feeling of the original game.
Would be interesting to see this connected to actual games of tetris...

Transfiguration of the Eternal Monster of Crypts by Mihael Medan 2014-05-04T21:36:00

Good job! I liked the enemy design and overall aesthetics a lot.

Enderscope's Game by Arakade 2014-05-03T21:22:00

Nice concept and great mood! Pity there's not much to do yet. Would love to see this developed further, maybe with some minor horror elements?

Murder Clown by Just_delete_it 2014-04-29T17:45:00

i love you

Deep Dome by pansapiens 2014-05-04T11:13:00

Neat visuals. Love the colors bleeding into the grayscale landscape.
Gameplay was kinda confusing at times, for example I didn't really get how the laps worked. How many rings count as one lap? And what if I skipped one of the sequence? Do I have to go back and get it, or can I just keep going?
Also, the shooting part felt out of place. I rarely used it as it distracted me from getting all the rings, and it didn't feel as polished as the racing.
Apart from that, I quite enjoyed it. Good work!

Mr Snails Fun Day Out by SenorDiablo 2014-05-13T18:48:00

More games need a lick-button :)
I'll have to admit, I didn't really care about the mental illness-facts.
But the presentation was really great overall, good job.

Colonier's Mineformer by jancsiba5 2014-04-28T21:40:00

game won't start for me :/
starting the .jar opens a window which immediately closes again (running winows 7)

Undermind by FREEZX 2014-05-04T15:28:00

Nice visual effects. I enjoyed walking on the tracks above nothing but darkness, while those earthquakes tried to shake me off. Got some nice atmosphere going there.

Another Fish in the Sea by Hexadecima1 2014-05-14T12:59:00

Wait... what? Mysterious pattern indeed. Some diver will be totally confused when exploring the sea ground :D

A Happy Place by Woftles 2014-05-03T22:16:00

Soooo... what DO people call blogs these days?

Also, thanks for making this! Great experience.
Would have loved to have an indicator as to how much water I had left instead of finding out only when I just drank the last one. Yeah, no, I didn't keep track myself.

Above and Below by bitpuncher 2014-05-14T13:14:00

Interesting concept, you should keep working on this!

Coalmine Manager by boringprogrammer 2014-05-06T19:43:00

It was all going so well, until on day 13 the mine collapsed and killed all of my 8 workers. Then the game crashed after telling me the union has been disbanded.
Maybe I should've listened to my geologist...
Really nicely polished game though, good work!

Beneath the Humans by Frederico Raiss 2014-05-03T22:53:00

This was the most disturbing game I played so far...
I was really confused at first, but now that I figured out what's going on, I do like the idea. With some more work, this could turn into an interesting game.

Crystal rain by RookMage 2014-05-13T18:54:00

Really liked the different notes when you collect the gems. Also, some nice and interesting power-up variations.
I didn't really get behind how the combo system worked though...

The Find by Alexis Moroz 2014-05-09T16:33:00

Great concept! Loved the contrast between melancholy mood and absurd gameplay. Well done.

Tentacle Rails by javifugitivo 2014-05-08T16:09:00

Nice concept, and great art! It was really fun to just mindlessly shoot at everything that moved.
I was kinda missing an overall directive though, I was not really sure if I was trying to get to a certain point in the level or just had to make as many points as possible.

Vaults Inc by Bruno Massa 2014-05-04T15:04:00

Really nice and polished overall. Interesting and unique choice of aesthetics, too.
Only thing that bugged me, is that I couldn't seem to lose the game. I ran out of money and couldn't buy any more facilities, but I never got a game over...

Chacket Valleyparker: DRILL BUNNY by stvr 2014-05-04T11:42:00

First time I saw a lava pool I thought it was gold and died trying to dig it up. Oh well...

Nice game though, especially liked the visuals and music. The difficulty curve could use some work, as I didn't actually notice the game getting harder even after playing for a while.

Small sacrifice by Kragnir 2014-05-04T10:52:00

Jeez, that's a hectic game. Didn't even come close to beating him, I was way too busy dodging bullets to even get close enough to hit him.
I understand why you made the weapon range so short and the boss so fast-moving, but it quickly got frustrating when I couldn't even get one hit on him without dying.

Ogre's Gold by asotelo94 2014-05-08T16:02:00

Really engaging concept, and nice execution. Good job!
The difficulty curve was a bit too steep for my taste.

Pixel Draw by zebi24 2014-05-03T23:01:00

This was great! Really like the idea and execution.
The reactions of the pixel animals made it for me, I felt really sorry when I accidentally put a pixel in the wrong spot. :D

Snack on the fly by pandavigoureux 2014-05-04T10:43:00

Great art style!
Had some problems with the controls, as I kept moving my mouse out of the window when trying to launch the shark.

Calamari Chaos by cakesauce 2014-05-07T15:37:00

Nice game. Sadly it got boring pretty quickly because it was way too easy. Great work for your first entry though!

Dr. Pepsi Marriage Consultant by Thingo Studios 2014-05-06T16:47:00

ok.

Under a rock sky by Cash 2014-05-14T13:32:00

Nice little entry. I like how you have to get back to the beginning after saving a guy, makes the level design more interesting.
I thought it was bit too easy though, I only died once on purpose to see what happens.

Call of Shroomy by Robert 2014-05-09T18:35:00

Nice graphics! Too bad you couldn't finish it in time.
Also, I had a bug where I couldn't see my own bullets for a while (only heard them)...

Digable Planet by Oddly Shaped Pixels 2014-05-04T11:25:00

Nice entry! Presentation-wise it feels very polished overall.
The gameplay was a bit confusing at first and it took me some time to understand how I had to manage my resources. But once I got it, it was quite a fun game.

Willow The Whisp by Paul-Etienne Bardot 2014-05-09T16:15:00

Nice art and music! Too bad, it's not much of a game yet. Hope you keep working on it :)

Inner War by KickBack 2014-05-07T15:31:00

What a great concept and execution! I would love to see this developed further.

Surface Invaders by Wave Propagation 2014-05-03T21:50:00

Love the colors and the guitar sounds playing when shooting a zombie. Gives it a strange surreal atmosphere.
You might want to fix that you can only see the zombies from one side and they turn invisible as soon as you pass them...

Reciprocal Transmission by alshirah 2014-05-07T13:52:00

Great concept. The moving teleporters were kinda frustrating though...

Defy Hades by MyrddinsOwl 2014-05-04T12:18:00

Great visuals!
Too bad it's so short, I'd love to see more of this.

Keep the Gem! by lukepilgrim 2014-05-03T22:41:00

Great idea. Loved the chaotic gameplay and the endlessly spawning incompetent cops.
Getting stuck under the pile was fun for a couple of times, but after that it got kinda frustrating.
Sadly, I couldn't make it to the top. :(

Fappy Bat Cave Edition by laker 2014-05-14T12:46:00

Nice work for your first entry, congrats on finishing in time! :)

Beneath The Surface of the Mind by jtcrash 2014-05-04T11:55:00

Interesting concept, you should definitely keep working on this! Would love to see a version of this with some actual gameplay in it.

Gopher's Revenge by Galf 2014-05-04T14:39:00

Nice idea! Is there any way to get rid of the bombs? They're really hard to avoid once there's a couple of them on the field...

Mole Empire by PriorBlue 2014-05-09T18:31:00

Nice look and atmosphere! A bit too difficult for my taste though...

We Grow by porousnapkin 2014-05-09T18:13:00

Great job, really impressive! Well execution all around. Especially loved the minimalist sounds adding up to a rhythm, and the pacing in general. It felt really rewarding seeing your army slowly grow over the course of the game.

Swim by atterday 2014-05-09T16:37:00

Nice graphics! Congrats on finishing your first LD game :)

Electro Jellyfish by peterlavey 2014-05-03T22:29:00

Well, that was quick. I somehow managed to beat it on my first try...
Cute graphics & music!

Submarine of semi-Destiny by iMer 2014-05-14T12:52:00

The boss was a bit too easy for my taste, but fun nevertheless. Congrats on finishing your first entry! :)

Blunderer by Jacob Peltola 2014-05-06T17:28:00

I don't usually get motion sickness, but this was really hard to watch at times :D
(When not spinning) I loved the colorful visuals and seeing the next level beneath me. The music fits in with the overall mood really well to. Good job!

CaveBallz by Joelon1 2014-05-13T19:04:00

I didn't really understand when I would take damage from touching a ball and when I wouldn't.
Nice concept though, and a sweet mosaic roof :)

Undercover by Shivur 2014-05-06T23:33:00

This is an interesting concept, good job!

Danger mines! by mikhog 2014-05-04T15:35:00

That was intense. Good job!

Save Us by philip_sinclair 2014-05-04T10:57:00

Really innovative concept, one of my favourite entries so far!
Only thing that's missing, in my opinion, is some kind of indicator on how far you got each time, so you can compare your records with friends.

Follow the Unicorn by swizzlekiss 2014-05-08T22:43:00

This was great. One of the few games that actually made me laugh. Good job!

Beneath the well by JaJ 2014-05-04T13:23:00

Nice and interesting puzzles. Really hard, too.
Not so keen about the light-thingy though. Platforming in the dark gets frustrating really quick.
Nevertheless, really good entry. Congrats on finishing in time!

Nadir by revilossor 2014-05-04T15:12:00

I was kinda missing an overall goal or directive apart from just moving thorugh the levels. Also, swimming was a pain in the ass because you have to keep pressing up really fast or you sink back down.
Apart from that, it's really nice.

Planet Improver by udo 2014-05-04T12:05:00

Nice mood for a text-based game. I loved just building random facilities and pretending to know what I was doing. And after a while, I actually understood it, too!

Super Surface Shape Shifter by sP0CkEr2 2014-05-06T17:10:00

The gameplay was surprisingly compelling, well done!
Pacing was a bit too slow for my taste, it never really got hard on me. I only died because I never knew when invincibility ended and got screwed right after.
Anyway, great job!

Whistle by AhNinniah 2014-05-07T12:27:00

Wow, great job on the mood! Really unsettling...

Super Stomp Combo by Carduus 2014-05-04T11:50:00

Interesting concept. Controls were a bit janky. Like the idea though, would love to see this developed further.
Great work for your first entry!

Under The Rig by monkeymad2 2014-05-03T21:58:00

I have no idea what I just fought, but they looked kinda stylish. Also, neat particle effects!
Gameplay was a bit dull though, I just sat on the ocean floor without moving and kept shooting until I won.

HEMTS 2014 by Zazibar 2014-05-13T19:34:00

This was amazing! Really simple, yet addictive gameplay. Good job!
Too bad there isn't much of an increase in difficulty...

Tunnel Digger: Artifact Man by scgrn 2014-05-14T12:44:00

Great choice of music!
The level design was a bit tedious at times, but nevertheless a solid entry, good job.

Muck McStank - Sewer Guard by Blanky 2014-05-06T23:43:00

Those potatoe creatures sure look evil...
Nice game!

Six Clouds Above by Eniimal 2014-05-03T22:47:00

Nice use of the theme in gameplay! I also liked the low-poly graphics.
I found it really hard to hit the enemies because I couln't really say where exactly I was shooting. A crosshair or some other indicator would have been very helpful.

LD30 — Connected Worlds

Meld by argontus 2014-08-25T19:23:00

I'm currently working on a very similar game (not for LD), except with only two instead of four players.
If you're interested, you can check it out right here:
http://w7games.bplaced.net/html/dyo.html

Funny to see how you had almost the exact same gameplay idea :)
I'd love to see you continue working on this as well!

Betwixter by buckslice 2014-08-29T16:58:00

This is great! Definitely one of my favorites so far. Good job!

LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

Entire Screen of One Game by Tom 7 2014-12-09T11:40:00

Brilliant!

S.I.N.E by FloatingGhost 2014-12-14T16:15:00

Great concept and really nice take on the theme. Good job!

Sprotzel by Waterman7 2014-12-08T21:31:00

Source code added now. Totally forgot about that...

Daddy Ghoul by Maxom 2014-12-08T13:30:00

Too dark. 10/10

True Dark by ranseur 2014-12-08T21:37:00

Innovative and challenging gameplay, and an interesting implementation of the theme. Good job!
The ammo counter could be more obvious, I almost didn't even notice and was often frustrated to run out of bullets at the wrong moment without a warning.

Btw: I added the source code to my game now, thanks for the reminder! :)

Call Center Sim by nuiguy 2014-12-08T21:55:00

This was way more engaging than I expected. I loved finding out more and more about the company by trial and error and getting more and more competent at the job.
Funny idea, well done!

Oceanite by Yazara 2014-12-08T21:44:00

Most accurate jellyfish disco simulator I've played so far.

BombardeAlien by Igor KinGamer 2014-12-17T19:29:00

Great concept, I enjoyed it very much!
Needs a bit more visual feedback as to what your inputs actually do. I didn't figure out what the difference between the laser and the water gun was until I read it in the description afterwards.
Apart from that, good job! Hope you continue working on this, I think it has some potential :)

Blockade Runner by Kopeph Developers 2014-12-28T21:54:00

Good job, really liked it!
The level generation didn't always work out so well, sometimes I couldn't even reach the room with the goal in it. Also, finding yourself and the goal in each new level was sometimes a bit hard.
The color-blending is not only really gorgeous looking, but also an interesting and innovative mechanic once you figure out how it works.

Silverwarrior by jangler 2014-12-10T20:35:00

Lovely little game, well done! Great choice of weapons, too :)

Fadin by XTremEive 2014-12-17T20:13:00

This was really fun!
Simple but fun concept, well executed. Great music too.
Only thing that bugged me was the movement, would have liked some smoother control over my ball, not only the 4 directionals.
Anyway, great job!

Lights Out by Forge 2014-12-24T12:33:00

Both links are broken for me :(

To Fight The Sea by BretHudson 2014-12-09T17:57:00

Crashes on startup for me :(

LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

Fungual Sizing by Maxom 2015-04-20T22:12:00

Bin nicht weit gekommen weil ich groß bleiben wollte. 10/10

Lagman by reiknight 2015-04-22T17:01:00

Really funny concept, it just LAGS some variation.

(Sorry, I just couldn't resist that one :D)

roadtrip by PlasmaErnst 2015-04-21T21:51:00

Great rabbits!

Llamaism by Diventurer 2015-04-22T16:46:00

Sadly, I can't seem to run the game. :(
When I start the .exe, I just get a white screen and some music playing. Then after a while it just crashes.
Running on Windows 7 64 bit.

Nice music though! ;)

LD33 — You are the Monster

M.M.O.C.E by D3zmodos 2015-08-27T14:47:00

Crashes after a few seconds. :(

MOTHERTONGUE by dmcfarline 2015-08-31T10:45:00

This was great fun! Definitely my favourite entry so far. Flinging around humans with your tongue never gets old...
Sounds got a bit annoying after a while and the Game Maker standard particle effects were somewhat out of place imo, but apart from that I very much enjoyed it. Good job!

Monsters always finish last by Reyn 2015-08-29T19:50:00

Great mood and personality even though it's only blocks. Really enjoyed it!

PS: Thanks for commenting on my game! To answer your question: Yes, it's solvable ;)

Disco Arachno by Thingo Studios 2015-08-29T19:03:00

Cool concept. I would have liked to have some additinional incentive to move around except dodging the currents. Maybe score-pickups or something. Apart from that, it was quite fun. Good job! :)

Office Hours by valid4life 2015-08-29T19:37:00

Well, that was surprisingly satisfying. I didn't quite get how the rage-mode worked but it was fun nontheless.
Loved the music and visual feedback. Great contrast between "boring"- and "rage"-mode. Good job!
Also, that bullet behaviour is amazing :D

haPe by lauchsuppe 2015-08-25T17:31:00

love it!

Minotaur by cirpig29 2015-08-30T16:36:00

Cool concept. Loved chasing those little people around. Too bad I couldn't do anything to them (I think?)

Soup by JoshDBB 2015-08-31T18:38:00

Great visuals, I'd love to see how you did those...

Dissident by michidk 2015-08-30T16:32:00

Surprisingly, I was not a monster.
Cool concept, I like the idea of basically two different games in the same framework. Too bad there wasn't more of a challenge to either of them.
A nice entry nonetheless!

Sick Sheeps by Simaflux 2015-08-31T10:15:00

This game taught me to appreciate how important wolves are for our ecosystem. Good job!

A cup of tea with my Aunti MICROPHONE REQUIRED by Team Klappermann 2015-08-27T14:42:00

That was fun. :)
Sadly, I couldn't make it to the end (supposing there is one), because I got stuck in front of a wall at some point.
Great mood though, good job!

The 74% scientifically inaccurate cheese fabrication process by SiMouth 2015-08-27T14:57:00

My cheese got stuck on the board, so I couldn't get it to rest in the mould. Would have loved to see the ending :(
Apart from that, great job!

Cave Sweet Cave by scorched 2015-08-26T19:10:00

I really liked the music and overall feel of the game, good job!
There are some nice gameplay ideas in this, I would have loved to see them explored in some more challenging levels.

Bear fury by Freebios 2015-08-31T10:06:00

Love the bear sprite and animation. Brilliant mixture between mad and derpy.
Nice to be able to destroy everything, even trees. Could be a bit more challenging though.

Going For A Walk by PlasmaErnst 2015-08-27T15:48:00

very good!

Buddies for Baldwin by weirdway 2015-09-07T21:22:00

This made my day. Love it! :)

Invading Space by Paivictor 2015-08-29T19:08:00

I had trouble hitting those tiny and fast Invaders with the mouse. Maybe a different control scheme would help it. Since it's only three invaders anyway, you could easily bind each of them to its own key.
Apart from that, it's a nice concept. Good job!

They Came in the Night by kakuremino 2015-08-29T19:22:00

Really interesting concept, I enjoyed it very much! Also loved the mood set by the abstract graphics and music. Well done!
I didn't finish it though, having to wait for a whole minute for each word got tedious pretty quickly. :/

LD36 — Ancient Technology

Invent the Wheel by Delicious Code 2016-09-01T21:35:00

Looks like we had a pretty simmilar game idea :D
I really like the visual style on this one. Looks really polished. Good job!

The ZIGGURARK by glisk 2016-09-05T21:35:00

Cool concept. I liked the intro and the commentary by the god. I had a hard time with the control-scheme, using WASD and the arrow keys at the same time took some getting used to. But after a while that worked, too.
Nice pixel-art & animations, too!

The Museum of Time by DesignerNap 2016-08-29T22:46:00

This was very fun to play!
Great atmosphere & level design. Really enjoyed that ending too :D
One minor thing I noticed was that the camera was a bit slow to follow my character at times. Maybe that was intentional? To me it felt a bit awkward though...

Taxi No Roman by Nichii 2016-08-30T15:30:00

That intro was hilarious :D
Also, really simple yet solid gameplay, I enjoyed it. Good job!

Sentinel by Ilseroth 2016-08-29T12:38:00

I loved the mood in this, really well done!
Only minor thing I noticed was the camera cuts when toggling targeting mode where a bit harsh and disorienting at times. A little bit of lerp would have helped a lot I think.

Where Is My Boat by PlasmaErnst 2016-08-29T16:44:00

How to walk left?

The House on the Right by WERT Studio 2016-08-31T17:07:00

This is one of my favourite entries so far! I enjoyed it very much.
Just watched your post-mortem video. I like how you managed to sidestep programming and focus on art while still having some kind of gameplay (figuring out what happened)
And it was really fun to speculate what could have happened. There were enough clues to get the imagination going, but not so many that the solution was immediately obvious.
Only thing I kinda had an issue with was the "shooting through the wall" part. I spend some time trying to find an explanation as to how he could have accurately shot both of them from behind a wall. But I guess he just got lucky :D
Anyway, great entry! Looking forward to seeing more of this!

This was a lot of fun to play! :)
I like how you explained just enough about the mechanics for players to figure out the rest themselves. Getting the hang of how the sailing works just by experimenting a bit was really satisfying!

Also, thanks for your comment on my game. I didn't know about the LD-map, but now I'll have to check it out! :)
