I Contemplated the Sun of Limbo by Evilion 2014-04-28T19:54:00
The graphics and the sound ambiance are just amazing!

The graphics and the sound ambiance are just amazing!
Really polished and super ambiance! Impressive work for 48hrs.
Amazing Benjamin! All of this in 2 days? Chapeau bas!
Nice atmoshpere but could't get used to the controls. Mouse pointer kept on exiting the frame so it was really tedious moving around...
Impressive design! Too bad controls are that sluggish... And I think I didn't get the point of the game but nice experience!
Fantastic job!! So much fun!! One of the best entries I've played so far!
The concept is just really great and what a gaming experience! My fingers are hurting now but I survived... :)
OMG it looks incredible, I love the parallax scrolling, the animations and its overall really addictive. Great entry!
Really great idea, I love the concept though I didn't go really far. I will go back on this definitely!
Impressive art and ambiance but it's way too short. We want more!!
Nice little runner, impressive art! Controls feel sometimes laggy, especially when trying to duck just after a jump.
Great concept, really well put but damn that message at the beginning of each level is killing the fun! Put it only on the first (or first 2 levels), then the player understands that the goal of each level is always the same. And if your game is keyboard controlled, having to switch to mouse only to kill that window is really tedious... Aside from that, great little game!
Really nice game but incredibly difficult! I like the mechanics though. Maybe you should remove the fadein/fadeout after dying so that action is more continuous, just a suggestion
Incredibly beautiful, it really feels like diving. The sound is just perfect.
Just wandering around was a great pleasure, super entry!
You found a nice concept! Nice interpretation of the theme!
Didnt understand anything at the beginning but after a while I got it! Innovative mechanics and the game is really fun to play, really challenging to but in a good way!
Really nice interpretation of the theme, and I like the mechanics. Maybe the player could stick a bit more near the holes cause I passed lots of them due to the inertia.
Amazing work for just 2 days! Really well polished!
The only thing is that I only built towers leaving the 3 guys gather crystals and I made it trough Wave 10 on my first run no problem. You definitely can make it more difficult!
Really nice concept!! I like the idea and the mechanics of having to hit the rock to change direction. The only thing is that the bouncing felt a bit random and it's frustrating not being able to change the course of the mole in those cases...
Nice concept and really polished! I just can't seen the relation with the theme...
Really interesting, the concept is really cool and I love the fights.
After defeating one enemy, I ended up fighting myself (or someone with the exact same name), bug or feature?
I dont get it....
Just gorgeous and impressive work for 72hrs! Too bad there's no audio...
Chrome+ Mac OS 10.8 and it immediately crashes... :(
One of the best entry I've played so far. It's so cute, those voices, those drawings... 5 stars to everything!
Impressive pixel art, animation and ambiance. That's the pixel art I like!
A bit short though but worth the experience!!
Really fun and polished, the pixel art (especially the dolphin) is amazing. I also wish the rings could count in final score.
Nice concept, the scratching is fun! Not to sure about the message though :)
The most addictive game I've played so far! The upgrade mechanic is just top notch :)
Really nice little game and I love the aesthetics! Maybe you should put some stuffs that kill you just to make it more tense!
Incredible art, animation and overall look and feel but that difficulty ruined it for me...
Simple but really well put. I was able to play a bit with somebody and you can truly feel the teamwork!
Nice idea! A bit hard though...
Dont get the relation with the theme but it's a nice clone of Asteroids except for the inertia. It makes the game too hard!
Nice art and interesting idea. Maybe gameplay needs more depth though, felt a bit monotonous...
So fun!! And that sound!! It actually made me hungry... Nice little game!
Nice little game! Super smooth controls and really nice look and feel. Cant say I see a relation with the theme though....
Really fun and addictive!
The game is really nice and you made a good job on the level design but please, get rid of that jumping sound!!!
Just one word: impressive! This Metroid feel is just perfect, it's super polished, super addictive. Congrats!
Its actually pretty fun! I love the sprites and their animations.
Great participation, congrats!
Nice concept, interesting idea but too long for me, got bored although I tried to fight it. "Music" doesnt help either although it's made to serve the concept.
I like the combat mechanics and the two levels system.
Love the concept and the art but not the execution. Controls are frustrating and the game lacks rythm. A bit of polishing and you'll have a great fun game!
Gameplay would gain a lot with faster movement but anyway, it's a really nice entry, perfectly fits the theme and the mechanics are innovative, great job!
Fun little game! I like that rainbow power up!
I like the idea and the visuals are great. After playing a while I wonder if there's a end to the game? I try to gather stuffs but the points don't seem to show, maybe some feedbacks (visual or with sounds) could help.
Fun little game. Maybe needs some polishing on the controls, but anyway, was fun blowing everything up!
Innovative concept and pretty addictive little game. I can't say I'm fond of the graphics or the music :(
So cute and the gameplay is really great! Only thing is that it doesnt really relate to the theme.
Impressive graphics and great work on the animations!
I couldn't do much since my keyboard doesnt have a page down key but I enjoyed wandering those dark caves!
Thanks for the updated remapped controls! Now I was able to enjoy it fully and rated it better :)
Super polished game, fun but sooooo hard!
Really well polished! It's a nice variation of the inifinite runner genre and it fits the theme. I like the ray model, it's a really good job overall!
I'm the wiener!!! Yeah!
I like the concept but graphics are too small and I can't see any projectile. Besides, its hard to tell when you hit some turrets.
Nice art, impressive music! But damn that's hard when the worm starts coming out. Great entry!
Super idea it's really fun and original. Congrats!
Great grafx and animations! Couldnt get very far but the idea is definitely innovative, great work :D
Pretty cool game and well polished but I think it needs more challenge since the beginning. It's too monotonous to only dig, maybe some enemies?
Awesome entries guys! Nice animations and the concept is simple but addictive and well executed! Congrats!
Nice exploration game, the mood is great although it will gain with a little bit more of contrast (I ended up playing only with the minimap cause I couldnt see the rest).
Nice concept! It reminds me of Canon Fodder.
Next step: improve IA!
Really great, the ambiance is fantastic! Sometimes it's hard to know where a pattern begins and where it ends but I managed all 4 totems and it felt great! XD
Excellent, narration is just perfect!
This game is sooo fun!!! Really great art and I love how you can keep on without any legs left :) Reminds of that famous Holy grail scene with the black knight!
Nice little game, its like submarine Frogger. Maybe difficulty could be more progressive ( less fishies at the beginning) and you could make some powerups to spice up the gameplay a bit :)
Really cool, one of the best (if not the best) puzzles of this LD. Smalls bugs here and there (laser not updating especially) but nothing too heavy. I like the fact that for some levels there are multiple solutions. Great work!
Incredible art, I love it! The concept is top notch. My only critique would be about the controls, don't feel really accurate and a bit frustrating at the end. But anyway, great entry!
Really nice concept, really challenging but rewarding at the same time.
I figured out the mechanics but maybe they could be clearer. Also, a visual feedback to know that your holding a cube would be appreciated. Great work!
Really fun little game, super polished and addictive! The boss is a tough one!
Simple concept, well executed. Maybe you should add some aiming system.
So relaxing!! Ant it's really well balanced, I had a nice time playing your game, great work!
The idea is just great!! Really great humour and super polished. Great entry!
Fun idea! I like the day/night cycle and the title nailed it!
I normally dont like text stuffs but this one is good, really well written, it catches you. Great game!
Have mixed feelings about this one. Content is impressive for 48hrs and there are some nice level design ideas but on the other hand, it needs a bit more polishing I think. Don't understand why touching the hooded guy makes me going back from start for example.
Nice concept, great ambiance!
Impressive amount of content for 48 hours. The ambiance is just perfect but I think the slow controls take the fun away...
Impressive art and overall content. Gameplay is a bit frustrating though. As mentioned, weapon range is way too small and makes the game really difficult.
Fun little game, nice mechanic!
Some nice ideas, feels like Prince of Persia meets Wolverine.
IT's quite hard but the wall jump mechanic is enough fun to keep you busy!
Nice first entry!
Nice art! Attacks definitely need some animation and feedback and controls are just unintuitive. You should get rid of the mouse interactions.
You need to put some feedback on those buttons cause I don't know if my actions have had any impact on the course of the game...
Nice idea and artworks, J-RPG just arent for me...
Strange moods, the sound ambiance is really great. Maybe the controls and collisions need a bit of polishing but that's really good work for 72h.
Nice little game, reminds me of Rampage :)
Really fun game and nice graphics. It's hard but overall well balanced.
Super relaxing, the music is really nice. Gameplay is a bit monotonous though
Nice game overall!
Pretty solid game, great execution. Its quite hard but really fun.
You should give the option to invert controls though, it's sometimes a bit confusing.
Impressive, as always :)
One of the weirdest entry but strangely really addictive!
Man, you've got something there! It's simple yet super fun. More interactions/weapons and a "moves" counter for each level and that'd be a great game!
Took me a while to understand that you have to find zones where small lightning to fish but after that, incredible experience. You made this in 48hrs?? Congrats man, it's impressive, and this windwaker mood.... brilliant!
Nice aesthetics although the pixel art could have been more consistent. The ambiance is great but gameplay could be a bit deeper. Nice entry anyway!
Like the concept but I couldn't go back to dropping bombs after the spawning the adventurer. Have I missed something?
Simple concept but nice execution!
Excellent, the ending is really fun!
Cool game man! Well balanced and fun to play! Maybe you should had some damp time to the camera scrolling.
Simple game but really fun and I like how everything is consistent (except maybe the energy drink but who cares?). Great work!
It actually scared me, and Im not easily scared!! Really nice ambiance!
It's really tense ! I like the mood.
But giving the controls when you only reach the exit?? Bug or feature?? XD
Nice concept. I didn't understand everything but I reached 80% mole satisfaction so I'm quite happy with myself :)
So much content for 48hours! Well done.
Maybe controls need a bit more polishing but that's really good entry!
Beautiful and impressive sound atmosphere. Maybe you should add some sound/visual feedback, especially when you're about to run out of oxygen.
Nothing happens for me neither :( Maybe its because my keyboard doesn't have a Numpad?
Great concept but gameplay is too tedious. Maybe you should had some hints!
It seems nice but I didnt know what to do... Can you open the chest or dig upwards? Got stuck a bit on the walls also, don't know if it's a bug or a feature XD
REally like the looks and the music but the collisions are too strict and some feedback when you die would be appreciated. I may be touching some spikes but sometimes it feels like random death. Great idea anyway and cool puzzles!
Great idea!!! And great minds think alike :) I really like the simple fun of the firing mechanic :) And yours is better in-game explained than mine :))
Interesting concept, I really like all the options you give the player, it's a pretty solid simulation (dont know that much about moles though).
But as others have said, it feels a bit monotous as a game as it is right now.
Fun little game, really like the animations. Is there a way to upgrade jump height that I haven't found? Cause it seems that some platforms are impossible to reach.
Thanks to all of you for the great feedback!
For those that find it difficult, here's a tip: try not to rush to get the artefacts, gather some resources first and then go and get them!
I've made a Post Compo version with alternate controls, especially to select the machines so now you can use the arrow keys or the 1-4 keys.
@pansapiens I wanted to do that but didn't have the time in the 48h. But it's now done in the Post compo version, thank's for reminding me of that!!
Thanks again for all the feedback.
I've tried to explain the mechanics better in the game description but the ingame indications are indeed not really well detailed.
@Therrato
Also, from the beginning <R> restart the game but I forgot to mention it in the description!! Sorry
Super addictive! The simplest mechanic for a great game, really well done!
Nice characters and it's a great interpretation of the theme. Damn that scream when you die is spooky!!
Nice physics and level design but controls needs some polishing, they dont feel natural. Also I dont see the relation with the theme...
Feels like a mix between Sword&Sorcery and Octodad, great idea although I haven't ccaught the relation with the theme.
It's fun destroying stuffs and small people!! (in videogames of course)
Couldnt run it :( Im on Note 3, Chrome and Android 4.4.2
Interesting game, at first the controls are unnatural but you get use to it. Didnt go really far though, need to practice more :)
Nice game... the only thing that bothers me (and I don't know if it was intentional) is that it's a clone of RogueNoodle's 9.9 that he made for the Cyberpunkjam...
Catching that green thing is hard!! Nice work on the mood and the graphics!
Nice little game! Too easy for sure but 5hours only??? Great work!!
Great idea! I dont know if it's possible to win but only making her answer something feels pretty rewarding... Just like in real life!
Nice polishing on this one! Difficulty goes up really fast but nice one.
Excellent, really fun idea!
OMG incredible graphics! We almost had the same idea (at least for the presentation), but your game definitely looks better and more fun than mine XD Congrats guyz!!!
Really nice little game. As always said, him turning left after each ladder is a bit unintuitive but apart from that, great work!
Wow, super idea and really addictive. I didnt solve it, seems really hard but if you could make more levels with a more graduate difficulty that'd be great. You definitely have something here!
Nice little game but a bit too punishing for my taste. Sometimes it seems impossible to pass because of the slow velocity of the miner.
Sooo fun!! Crazy idea and nice execution. I think if you want to work on polishing a post compo version, you may have a future hit!
Nice mechanics and fits innovatively (is this a word?) the theme.
Great entry!
Can't get past the "Press SPACE" thing... I'm on Mac OS 10.8, strange
Nice retro feeling and amazingly polished for 48 hours!
Too challenging and disorienting for me but I love the idea!
Whaaat?
Super innovative! Must have been a lot work to come to this. Impressive work!
Nice entry, really innovative. Maybe you should add some sound or visual feedback, and as already mentioned, if you click tons of times the match just stay there and consumes itself
Impressive art and animations but I got stuck after the first monster battle. Also, controls are not consistent cause arrows make you move on the map but not during the battles. I think with a bit of polishing you'll have a great game!
Super polished controls and gameplay. The persistence and seeing your family grow is a super idea! Great job!
OMG, best creative thing I played in a while!! Well done!
I love the graphics! It's a tough one but I keep getting better XD Nice entry!
Really good game, its fun and polished! You should change the instructions cause it says that SPACE is to attack (and to jump) and doesnt mention the LMB.
Such a dramatic music!! Random death without radar is a bit frustrating but I love the concept and it's well put, nice job!
Really well done but I wonder if there's any goal or it's just about infinite money making (which is not a bad thing in itself!!)
Really nice cell shading, exploring the ocean is really relaxing. Impressive work for 48hrs!
Really nice concept, the ambiance is really well put and overall its super polished.
But the controls? I dont understand why O and P, it makes me watch the keyboard everytime I want to shoot and complicates unnecessarily the gameplay.
Nice castlevania clone, a good amount of work for 48h. But why having a recoil ?? It's not a fire weapon, it's supposed to be a whip and it doesnt bring anything to the gameplay I think.
Great work and impressive ambiance and music!
Really clever and impressive execution! The models and the physics are just great!
Parallax scrolling!!! Yeah! Really impressive work for 48 hrs, it's so fun to just wander with the jetpack and destroy all the tiles. Would be better with some kind of objective or real difficulty!
Innovative as hell! It's simple but super fun and oddly addictive. Great work!
Really great concept! Besides it's a great game to see if your monitor is properly calibrated XD
Couldnt beat level 5 though... :)
Stange little game, not sure about how it relates to the theme but it's really well put for only 48hrs!
Amazing art, a bit confusing though. At one point, all the ants stopped moving and I didnt know what to do.
It has a lot of potential!
A really interesting experience!! Like others, I like the background and the music is so hypnotic, well done. A nice first participation though it may lack a bit of challenge.
And also, please put a disclaimer that player shouldn't get up from their chair right after playing!!
I really like the idea but I couldn't designate anybody to kill. I'm on Chrome on MacOS, maybe it's a bug?
I dont know if its my computer but controls seem like really slow. But except from that I really like the gameplay, really addictive and the behaviour of the enemies is really well coded!
Nice graphic and the "push-your-luck" mechanic is interesting although it seems entirely based on luck (at least on the first try)
Impressive game the story is amazing and everything fits well.
The drift is just rad!!! I had fun just destroying things, good concept!
Interesting idea and presentation. Needs more levels!
Incredible game, super concept. On a couple of levels I thought: "Wow, genius level design". And I managed to finish it, feels so good :D Maybe the inertia of the ball could be lower cause it can get frustrating really fast...
Nice little game but a bit monotonous. Youd shoul add some powerups, other weapons. Maybe you did but Level 1 seemed to be forever...
ahaha, nicely done!
I actually ended wandering through the desert for like 10 minutes: a blissful experience!
Nice ambiance but gameplay is a bit boring. I spent minutes digging everything and couldnt pick up any gold.
Nice idea and good execution, some puzzles are really well designed. I would love to hear some SFX feedback.
Nice ambiance and aesthetics but I can't see how it relates to the theme and it definitely needs some tutorial or better explanations.
Incredible! The smoothest controls I've experience so far and the idea of having to jump out of the water to reload is just brilliant!
Nice little game! A bit short though and you could add more enemies to spice it up a little bit.
Awesome visual and jelly animations. It's super addictive but gets hard pretty fast! I didnt quite understand it all though, sometimes same color jellies kill me, sometimes they don't, sometimes it's opposites ones that kill me... Strange!
Cute game! You definitely have a good basis, just need to find some gameplay mechanics and it could be a great game!
Really like the concept and destroying things is just fun! Love the controls!
Maybe you should add some variety, enemies under the water too that can replenish your health for example
Nice game, really complete and deep. Dont see the relation with the theme though but a great game anyway!
At first I didn't know about the arrows but after finding that, I really enjoyed it!!
Nice visuals and gameplay although it's true that collisions are sometimes iffy.
Great idea, simple and effective!
Brilliant! Really great atmosphere. For some reason it reminds me of the Mako phase of the first Mass Effect, but under water!! And thank's for the game idea, I'll start working on this "Flappy consultant" theme as soon as LD voting is over XD
Really good start, maybe the difficulty should be more progressive.
Dont take it bad but it reminds me of the game VLambeer uses as en example in the "Art of screenshake" speech. Now you just need to Vlambeerized it and you'll have a great game!
Super fun!! Smooth controls, nice mechanics and a lot of content for 48hrs!!
If I didn't know you already, this game would make me want to be your friend for sure :))
I just dont understand why eating your own poop makes the fun meter drop, shouldn't it be the exact opposite?? XD
Nice little game. We need more levels!!!
Maybe also the jump could be a bit higher cause I was sometimes moving crates by not jumping high enough of them (or make that pushing crates is only available if your character is on ground).
So clever, really nice take on the Sokoban genre. I'm usually not a big fan but I must say it's a great game and I had fun playing it :D
Nice little game although I suck at shmups!! And the ship doesn't get stuck at walls and obstacles ;)))
The funniest entry I've played so far! Reminds me of King's Arthur World on Snes, really great entry!
Took me a while to get used to the controls but once you get it it's pretty addictive.
Original idea and nice execution!
Nice idea! It feels oddly fun to mess with people mail :)
Funniest entry I've played!!
Well executed, simple yet addictive and super polished as always...
What more to say?? :D
Nice take on the theme and on the endless runner genre, I think it's great mixing one touch keyboard with the mouse.
The post compo already shows some great potential. One thing I miss from the LD version is how the characters "fell" to a lower platform when they missed.
Had difficulties seeing what they were interested in but had a great time anyway.
The art and presentation is just top notch and the idea is super original!
Nice little game although level 4 was for me a bit of a downer. I didn't understand why I was dying, even when I didn't collide with the enemies. Maybe you should add more visual and audio feedback.
Really like the overall look and feel but I dont understand what the constant delay in the player attacks is bringing to the gameplay.
Dialogues should be skippable too imho.
Super idea and incredible execution. The art is beautiful and has its own personality. Really loved the magic bean planting mechanic to go to an other planet, really innovative!
Nice concept idea but I think you should rethink the waiting mechanic because it's not for everyone to like.
One of the greatest entries I've seen. The ghost mechanic is super cool and you've added lots of audio and visual feedbacks to everything (screen shake, remaining corpses...) a la Vlambeer ;)
Great idea and I love the retro pixel style!
Couldnt play it a lot cause it kept on crashing (Mac OS 10.8 with Google Chrome) but the aesthetics is just gorgeous and I like the idea of having to "mix" colors to match a pattern. Great job!
I've managed to play them both at the same time!!
Really great entry, I love how simple yet fun it is. And I looove the awkward small talk at the end, totally connects with one's experience :D
Beautiful and eery, great ambiance. I guess the controls could be a bit more responsive and the waves have a faster effect on the "ball".
Fun little game but controls may be broken because most of the time I couldn't move diagonally. It wasn't also very clear which hero I got to use to defeat a given type of enemy. Thought it was color related but apparently not.
Aside from that a solid entry, fun and addictive!
Sooo polished! You should add some twists in the gameplay to make it even more addictive
Thanks for the feedback.
Sadly the game is definitely buggy, I rushed it too much I think... I'd like to know more about your bug cause I haven't experienced it.
Is the color always dark blue?
I know there's a bug between Chrome and Unity WebPlayer that forces you to switch tab or to resize the browser window for the game to work properly...
Thank's a lot for all the comments!
Sometimes picking up the right colors may be a bit tricky and I'm still looking for a better color recognition algorithm. What helps is spawning lots of the same objects so that you can have different light exposures and be able to easily pick the color you want.
Thanks for all the nice comments, I' m really pleased to see that people also like calm and relaxing games :)
@Stasss I'd be glad to send you the source, although it's lots of "jam" code, that means not really commented and not really optimized :) Contact me by mail!
@Scott Baker The theme is indeed in the multiplayer aspect and the "connection" that you can establish with a stranger without any words.
@SteveSalmond That's maybe the best and most rewarding comment someone could ever make, thanks!
The aesthetics is just remarkable, in a totally unique way and even playing by myself I had fun with it! Great job as always!
Super polished, nice idea and great (technical) execution.
Mouse controls were a bit frustrating though but still a very pleasant experience. Great work!
I had a hard understanding that the noise was generated were the other character was standing. Maybe you should explain it better because apart of that, it's a great idea and a nice execution!
Super idea and great art! The problem for me is that it's imposible to see where the grandfather is taking the son so the mechanics is losing its interest cause you have to randomly try to hit space to see if the son will land on a terrain cube.
With a bit more polishing on the gameplay it could make a great game!
Great idea and I love the 2D/3D mix!
Great concept and super polished execution! A bit frustrating sometimes but not undoable. Well done!
Incredible entry! Awesome art and crazy story, I love it!
Nice entry, really interesting concept although, as it's already been said, if you manage to shoot everything on the first world the 2 others are a bit useless :)
Great idea and cool level design! A bit short though but you definitely have something!
Really nice look but I found the controls a bit hard to master. I don't know if it's only me but the mouse pointer wasn't staying inside the game frame and I clicked a lot outside the game, forcing me to click back on it again to resume playing.
Really nice ambiance and overall look and feel. It's challenging but not too hard, really rewarding!
Impressive art, super music and a great amount of polish overall. You should add a scoring system and a higher difficulty and you have a great game!
Nice portal-like game, especially for only 48 hours. Had a bit of trouble with swinging also but it's really a great start for a more polished post compo version.
Congrats!
Great game! Really fun and well executed. Good job!
I like the different mini games idea and it's a lot of content for only 9 hours! Good work for your first entry!
Great graphic and interesting idea. The gameplay is really deep for only this amount of time. One suggestion is that in some cases, you should use more contextual menu and less modal windows cause it breaks the flow a bit imho.
Nice little platformer. It's a good basis to start building on it for a bigger and more polished game. Good work!
Great little game! You should add instructions on the Wifi meter part cause I had a hard time figuring why I was sying without any obvious reason.
I think it's a great start. You should try to build from it, adding more visual feedback, easing the controls cause it could make a nice little game. Congrats!
Super polished platformer. It's a lot of content for 72 hours. Great musics too!
Some collisions bugs but not game breaking. It's a great idea and a nice execution. I've enjoyed more the levels where the connected controls were meaningfull because on the first levels, you just move alternatively the colored beans without any real difficulty.
Super fun, I had a great time with it and the twist is just so unexpected and innovative. Great entry!
Cool card game idea, I'd like to see it developed!
Nice idea and cool aesthetics. I ended up doing the same actions without knowing what else to do. Keep up the good work!
Nice little game, I really like how the rooms connect between each other. Maybe the checkpoints could be closer from one an other cause it sometimes get a bit frustrating.
That's a really clever take on the infinite runner genre. The fact that you score double with both dinosaurs makes it really interesting. If it'd hit the Playstore/AppStore I'm sure it'd reach its audience!
Great entrey as always! Gamefeel is great, feedback is there. Maybe the gameplay mechanics could have been a bit deeper or the complementary between the 2 mechas more gameplay-wise appealing.
Great entry, nice graphics and good mechanics.
The only part that bothers me is to have to reset the level if you do something wrong. It cuts the gameflow a lot.
Maybe if the player could rollback what he does or if the level design was a bit more adapted (climbing on the green growing beens instead of jumping on it a la Plant Cat), it could help.
Great entry anyway!
Really interesting game mechanics and nice use of the theme, very appealing also, a really good job done here, congrats.
Really great mood, great graphics and tons of mechanics.
What I dont get is the night/day cycle because except adding to the gamefeel (which is good), it doesnt give or take anything. As a player I just have to wait 3 seconds every x in order to play again. I dont get the purpose of the "sleeping" pause. Maybe just being able to play on night but with less visibility or other gameplay "limitation" could be enough?
I also felt a bit lost and although the purpose of the game is clear, I felt without a sense of progression towards my goal.
Anyway, the game is great and the gamefeel impressive.
The infinite zoom effect a la Pix the cat is a really nice touch, gives a lot to the game feel. Well done!
Sooo great, the concept is just perfect, the execution flawless: great pixelart, great feedback, cool mechanics.
The best arcade game I've played in this LD, congrats!!
Really fun, and super extra good gamefeel. The scoring system is a nice addition because without it, the jump was a bit pointless. Great job!
Really like the writing and how the situation and the mechanics tightly fit together, like only whispering to the one character next to you or exchanging the objects. Really great, congrats!!! :D
Impressive as always... I still don't understand how you can come with such a perfect level design that explores so creatively all your mechanics' facets in just 2 days. Talent, simply :)
Nice concept ans execution, I really like the behavior of the enemy, almost feels like A.I-like.
Teh game could use a better difficulty progression of course and enemy bullets could be another color because it's really hard to dodge when in a shootout with all those grey pixels flying around.
Besides that, a cool entry overall :)
Love the concept and the vibe :)
Great concept, super polished!
I just don't see why hiding the buttons and icon when the deck is full, it makes the ensemble more tedious.
But great game nonetheless!
Nice little entry, special kudos for the music!
Nice Nuclear Throne vibe but I guess it could use some more feedback especially regarding HP and ammo, like more info on the character maybe.
The music is too present for my taste but apart from that, a solid entry.
Funny idea, and the music is top notch.
But I thinkg the game is missing feedback a lot, on player's actions and also on your roomates' detection ability (range, when they spot you...)
.
Really addicting and I like all the small details, like the parts being deflected by the guy on the ladder, the inverted controls when you're hit on the head.
It reminds me of the dual screen game and watch games like oil panic :)
the fact that it's procedural is impressive, giving the time. But I'm not really a fan of the mechanics, just roaming a maze with reduced visibility is not really interesting or fun for me. But it's a good basis and with more time you could make something out of it!
Simple but very effective idea and well executed, even if I can't see the relation with the theme. Your music is super cool too!
Really great entry, super polished.
Not my type of game but I can see all the ard work.
My only complaint is that I found the dialogue system a bit confusing and didn't get who was who or against who.
Cool concept but I dont know if it' a bug or intended, but when the dad enters,I can't click on anything.
Keep up the good work!
Fun to play but a bit too punishing imho, you could use some more feedback when an enemy aproaches you or you're next to some spikes.
But for a first game, that's really some good work!
You have cool ideas there but I think the controls are ruining it. You're mixing too much keys, and locking (not moving) to attack is a bit frustrating (but maybe intentional). Melee attacks didn't seem to have any effect too.
The music is quite cool also, nice kob on that!
Superb mood and work onf the SFX.
Sadly the gaemplay isn't obivous and it's quite strange that all the tools and the stuffs are without gravity and the player is. It makes it really difficult to catch anything.
Your game proves that even with no art or sound, the cookie clicker mechanics works! Not so sure about the patience once but that's a good effort for your first participation, keep up the good work!
Impressive art!! There's really a good mood here, well done.
I think the collisions with what is interactable should be improved, and I don't see the point of using the mouse just for one mini game if the rest of the game doesnt use it.
Apart from that, nice little game, congrats!
Nice polish on the aesthetics, and quite addictive gameplay, you had me smashed my space bar :)
Amazing polish and execution, the game is immersive right away and the writing is pretty good.
One of the best entries I've played, congrats!
Really nice effort.
The game could really use some better and stronger feedback but for your first game, that's a good start.
Keep up the good work!
Great aesthetics and super fun to play!
I'm not sure I fully understand the rules but the fun wins anyway :D
Cool idea, I like to watch the fights and consequences of my actions BUT:
- the rules of who likes who are not clearly defined
- you should zoom in because it's hard to distinguish the different etnies with the actual scale
- once the brawl starts, player should be able to fast forward
A cool idea and good execution, you should just work on the randomness of it. Good job anyway!
As I don't have any VR device, I'll only comment based on what I saw in the playthrough.
It seems really polished and has a lot of content for just 72 hours. I also really like the mood, really soothing
Really cool idea and with almost no production, no asset, you manage to convey a strong message.
Nicely done!
As already mentioned, if you do the tutorial, the game doesn't work later.
Cool concept and frantic action, it'd be a blast in multiplayer.
It doesn't really fit the theme and it could use some other mini games.
I didn't see the point of sleeping except make the player wait a bit more in order to go to work again.
But I like that you spent time building a context around the one mini game.
Really nice aesthetics and music.
The concept is not really original but it fits the theme perfectly.
What I missed the most is some feedback on the inputs and scoring. Besides, it gets boring quite fast and I guess you could use some combo mechanics to spice it up a bit.
Nice entry overall!
Nice idea and execution. The sound design is amazing, it makes you want to play more.
The concept is fun but after several levels, I felt it was more based on luck and trial/error than real skill. Some rebounds felt really off too.
But anyway, a great entry, nice work!
Cool narrative experience, I really like th writing and the point of view twist at the end, it's well done!
Impressive ambiance and graphics, it reminds me of Towerfall.
But man that jump mechanic is killing your game, the jump height is not adapted for your level design. You should also use way more feedback, especially when you're hit by enemies.
You got a great basis, just tweak the controls a bit and you could have a cool little game in your hands!
Nice little narrative game. I guess you could improve the colliders and some objects that are highlighted and don't trigger anything (the chair) but apart from that, great game. And that's your first time, congratulations!
Fun one to play, the controls are pretty responsive.
You should build on that and try to improve the feedback and make more gameplay variations, like power up, combos, random stuffs.
I really love the mood, the aesthetics and the sound.
Once you get the controls, it's pretty fun to move around, but you should exlpain how to pick up and deliver things because that's not obvious at all :)
That's a great little game but there are 2 things that bother me:
- I can't seem to understand the rule to make the arrows go in the direction I want. It looks totally random and I have to click a bunch of time to make it looked the way I want
- the sound is horrid!!! Please change it, unless you actually want the player to experience the postal syndrome :D
Apart form that, cool puzzle game!
Impressive gamedesign, nice progression, astonishing aesthetics.
I can totally picture this as a game like Monument Valley, just add a nice narrative around it.
Really polished, the visual style is amazing and the idea interesting.
I dont find the music particulary fitting the game but that's my opinion :)
A nice and fun game, congratulations from an other Renaud :D
Impressive! You had me hooked up till the end.
That's so much content for 72 hours and the writing is very good.
Maybe the best game I've played so far!
That's a great start! The aesthetics and mood are really well done, I like the design of the enemies.
I think the cooldown time of the arm is not necessary, you should be able to aim right after having thrown a stone, it makes the game difficult without any purpose.
Super cool mood, the music is fantastic and your pixel art great as always.
A small interactive experience, really good for what it is, congrats :D
Interesting idea and fun to play, nice take on the theme too.
Left click didn't seem to do anything, maybe you could use a bit more feedback (sounds for instance) on the player's actions
Impressive polish on all aspects, I really like the randomness of the whole thing. Pretty clever and nicely done, congrats!
So cooool, great minimalist concept, perfect execution. The narrative is a neat plus, really impressed by your work.
It kinda reminded me of Braid's levels where going right makes time goes forward and left backwards.
Congratulations, that's one of the best entry I've played1
The concept is so coool, and the twitter feed is super fun and a nice touch.
I really like the idea, now I found myself waiting a bit too much for the adventurers to gather stuffs, maybe it could be improve.
The most innovative game I've played, well done!
Really polished, I liked the mechanics, it's pretty intuitive and the controls work well.
The music is really nice too, congrats for your great entry!
The quality is amazing!!
I love the concept and the execution, it's really well done, fits the theme and it's a lot of fun to play!
Congrats on the music to!
The best entry I've played so far!
It'd make a really cool screen saver! :D
Not really a game but I like the "play outside of it" thing.
Fun idea although it's quite difficult, too bad there isn't more to explore.
Really neat entry as always, super polished.
I found it a bit hard but the mechanics are really cool, I like the Lost planet (the first one) vibe.
I found the controls a bit confusing at first but I guess I'm not used to jump with the up key :)
Really great entry!
Great concept and neat execution.
The whistle sound is a bit too much lo-fi for me and goes against the cleaniness of the rest but apart from that, a super entry!
Really cool idea and design.
I guess it could be less penalizing to fall in a hole and the game could use a bit more feedback (highlight maybe) when you can pick up or drop off somebody.
But great little game anyway!
@wowa_u Thank's a lot! I forgot to put that you can look up&down when not moving, pretty useful when switching floor :)
@Diplodino You can!!! :) You just have to jump just after breaking it.
@pmarincak Thank's, that's a great idea!
At first I wanted to make 2 kind of rats, one you can kill by dashing into them, the other one only with suitcases. But even for the postcompo I thought it was to much to add as it was not intended in the compo design. But that should definitely be in the game if it were to be extended
I was not hoping such a good narrative and well written dialogues. I like your take on the theme and the idea is really promising!
A great entry, congrats!
Impressive, as always.
The only remark I would have made has already been taken in account by the postcompo so, congrats on that too :)
Amazing idea, I didn't expect to get so hooked up.
One of the best entries I've played so far!
A cool base idea and a decent production but I guess you should add more and better feedback. Watch 'The art of screenshake', it should give you lots of ideas.
Cool entry and a lot of work and effort for just 72 hours, impressive.
It'd be great to have a bit more feedback on how the rooms are occupied. Also, I ended up playing on fast forward and it was still to much to wait :/
Aside of that, great entry!
Impressive amount of work! Everything is perfect, the graphics, the sounds, the controls. The retro vibe is spot on! Really well done!
I guess that's a bit to much for me, but you've captured the essence of a real escape the room game: turning everything upside down, and that is FUN! :D
Great little game, I like the simple but efficient mechanics and how you build up on that.
Sooo polished and tons of content.
I really enoyed playing it and I'm not a big fan of turn by turn combat but it was quite easy.
The art is amazing, that's a superb entry, congrats!
Great idea and execution, I love the aesthetics.
I got some weird jittering camera movements when I was heading to the ceiling. Ah, and also, as a "flight simulator", I was expecting an inverted Y behavior, maybe you could add the option.
Great game!
Really cute game, I find the mechanics simple yet interesting to play with. You had me hooked up, and that's rare! Really great work!
Great game, tight controls and clever use of the theme.
I think that sometimes, the collision with what kills you when going offscreen should be a bit more permissive because it makes the rules harder to understand.
The dificulty curve is a bit odd too and the tricky platforming levels are not really necessay imho.
Great game anyway!
The base idea is interesting and you've managed quite a lot in few time.
I guess you could iterate on the bombometer mechanic to make it a bit more interesting, like a radial scan pulse slowly reloading for example.
Cool entry anyway.
That's a really good basis, I like the retro feeling.
If you already have the procedural generation working, now you can expand with combat and exploration mechanics, that'd make a great game.
On the side: the sound for opening a door is a bit annoying :D
I love it! I don't have anything to say, it's just perfect, a cool concept, a great execution, impressive !
(Oh yes, just one little tiny thing: if there could be some audio feedback on the music like in GuitarHero when you're doing bad or great, that'd be icin on the cake!)
Awesome work, the audio is great!
Could be great if you could swith players too.
Super fun little game.
The idea is simple but the excution brilliant, you've put the right amount of feedback and I like the little details like the boundaries bouncing, the cute SFX.
Super polished, great work!
Man I feel so dumb no being able to escape :DD
Great game, cool humor, nice concept, superb work!
Reminds me of the golden era of my Amstrad CPC 6128 :)
The idea is interesting and I like how wave after wave, you start exploring the cave.
Great mood!
A simple and nice idea.
Too bad the game doesnt have audio,I guess it could user a little bit more feedbacl to the player's actions.
That's a really innovative idea, and I love the art and the music. But the game is a bit too harsh in its actual state. Not really clear at first, especially because of the keyboard mapping, a bit weird. I guess you could use a bit more feedback also on the player's actions and to reinforce the tension.
The game I had the more fun with.
Just impressive, the game design is perfect, really cool grinding/upgrades mechanics, really gives the player a good feeling of progression.
Superb entry, 5 stars!
Great art and message, good work!
Great little game, really tight controls and cool level design.
If I had a complaint, I'll the say that you could add another key for jumping (space, z) because all in one hand ends up hurting a bit. Ah, and also a bit more screenshake and feedback when you die :D
Great entry!
That's a cool little game, for 48 hours it's really decent.
I love the fence sfx :D
I guess the game could gain quite a bit if you could fire and walk in different directions.
Really cool idea and implementation, I like how it's easy to play but hard to master.
Nice simulation, good work!
Really great work! I love the mixed style and the music.
Controls were tight but jumping from one platform to another was sometimes hard, mainly because the character's shadow seemed to pop out.
You could use some extra feedback on enemies, and I think the bfxr-lioke sound for jumping and landing are a bit to harsh.
But apart from that, super entry, I had fun with it!
Neat little game, really polished and the music is top notch!
If I had one critic, it will be on the physics: the controls are a bit floaty with the damp time of the run, and having the pickable items as "strong" colliders makes it a bit difficult to move when the room is full.
But anyway, great game!
Not a huge fan of the concept but I like the details like the parallax and the general asethetics.
I didn't see the "close window" action as really useful, as when you're standing inside the house, you have less probability to get shot anyway.
And I guess the sfx and music could serve the mood a bit better.
Nice entry anyway!
Interesting concept, reminds me of Keep talking and nobody explodes a bit, except that you're on your own.
Cool little game and surprinsigly addictive.
The boy's narrative is a nice touch. Too bad the checkpoint are not really well put, you should put one after the vent part.
Really cool concept.
Sadly the controls are too odd for me to be able to enjoy the game. You should try some grab and rotate mouse controls, it should probably do the trick.
I also think that the physics could be a bit less floaty.
Nice little game, I guess it could you more feedback (especially audio) but other that that, a great idea. I like how the claw is used for everything.
I had to play a few times to understand how the game worked. I guess the instructions could be a bit clearer.
I really like the aesthetics and the concept, plus it has multiple endings and it gives the game a great replay value.
I'm sure that when you had sound feedback, the whole gameplay will be a lot more intuitive. Ah, and also, for the dialogs, I guess it's always better to have a portrait of the person speaking (and a left/right alternance), it's always easier to understand what's happening and make it less painful to read :)
A really good entry, congrats!
Nice little entry, fun to play.
Imho, you should make the player moves faster, maybe add a roll (with invicibility frames), and put more feedback on enemies death and shooting (screenshake).
Sadly, the controls and physics are not precise enough for a game solely based on platforming.
But I like the idea of the level building up piece by piece after showing it to you entirely at first, and there are some nice level design ideas. Keep up the good work!
Impressive mood and music, it's goregous.
I just find the maze mechanic pretty tedious, especially with such slow movements. If you could spped them up a bit, I guess the game should gain a lot.
