This is really good! Funny yet awesome to play along with. Good job!

primaerfunktion 2014-04-28 07:12

I didn't expect something like this to come out of the theme. Really surprising and cool!

eldog 2014-04-28 07:23

I digged the narrative and the poetry. What a lovely character too.

Great SMS scene.

You've got a "hear" instead of a "here" in there, but that is me just being a smelly spelly.

colorvade 2014-04-28 07:24

Nice stylization of things. 'Bout all I have to say on that.

farfin 2014-04-28 07:30

I don't think rocky learned anything!

rylgh 2014-04-28 07:41

very cool, not what I expected. (also the font for Rectum Ranger Heroes is great, which is it? or did you make it yourself?)

paperblurt 2014-04-28 07:44

Thanks eldog for spotting the typo. Something is always missed it seems!

rylgh: The font is from Google Web Fonts, Trade Winds and Metamorphous is used for Rectum Rangers :)

finefin 2014-04-28 07:48

great use of the twine engine! the story was kind of disturbing - but funny. the porn titles made me laugh out loud :)

lewisw 2014-04-28 07:52

It was pretty interesting. I played until the end at least. I think it felt a bit "railroady" though.

dreii 2014-04-28 08:15

Man, not sure if there where other paths or something but that was heart wrenching D:

tomboogaart 2014-04-28 08:22

haha i had some laughs playing this

micdoodle8 2014-04-28 08:52

Funny, creative and graphically pleasing. Great job!

lacaranian 2014-04-28 08:55

A melancholic tale on the surface, and a hilarious one below. Good show!

allurious 2014-04-28 08:55

I really liked this, especially the phone conversations between Rocky and God/Satan. Neat.

hypnohustla 2014-04-28 08:55

Isn't this edgy and cool. :)
Really great use of theme, now I know a lot more about retired porn stars.
Love the overall aesthetics!

mortl8324 2014-04-28 08:57

wat? This was great. I didn't understand a lot of it, but great anyway.

mess110 2014-04-28 09:00

got sucked in the story :)

fluidvolt 2014-04-28 09:03

I love twine games, another rad one to add to the list. This was well-written and had a good story. And it stayed funny all the way through, always great. Nice job!

techblogogy 2014-04-28 09:03

Boom! The best!

customphase 2014-04-28 09:17

Heh, that was, um, unusual :) Not a big fan of a text driven adventure games though :)

theholychicken 2014-04-28 09:34

I just love your entries!
So much enjoyment from such minimalistic delivery.
Also the typos add to the fun. Leave them in man.

gabbsson 2014-04-28 10:23

At first I thought, oh no.. one of "these" games. But was pleasantly surprised at the depth of Rockys thoughts! Well done!

delca 2014-04-28 11:17

I was not expecting something this funny from the theme. Good job!

donan 2014-04-28 11:30

Really original xD. Awesome game.

snoother 2014-04-28 15:05

Not what I expected, but nevertheless good. Nice use of graphics and timed scenes. The prose was a bit bland at times, but overall it's pretty well-written.

icereci 2014-04-28 16:10

Funny. But need MOAR..

snoother 2014-04-28 17:06

Played it a second time: upping my score slightly. The prose works better than I originally thought and, on reflection, it really is a bloody good premise.

chrisamaphone 2014-04-28 18:39

what a super weird story! props for your use of twine and extensive content development.

ioboi 2014-04-28 19:44

i love it :))

attractivenerd 2014-04-28 19:45

WTF haha, charmingly offensive idea. Never slipped into the role of an ex porn star. Ending was sad somehow.

lars-faust 2014-04-28 20:16

Very cool and visually pleasing.
I like these sort of choose-your-way games.

senordiablo 2014-04-28 21:50

ahahahaha very very funny but also got so dark. Nice one 5/5 humor

conormn 2014-04-28 22:38

That was unexpected :)

kbm0 2014-04-28 23:27

This was a really funny, interesting, sad experience. Thank you for this.

iamspencer 2014-04-29 01:53

haha I had fun with this. Once I saw Schindler's Fist, I knew I was in for something unique. Good job :)

godeatgod 2014-04-29 07:16

Pure enjoyment

crowbeak 2014-04-29 08:55

I saw a few typos, such as "With an empty fridge you are a too busy to find the time to cook." (Extraneous "a".)

I had trouble identifying with the first part, being female, but it was interesting. Lots of good storytelling techniques used.

daneestar 2014-04-29 09:46

Not bad. Full of cliches.
Its pretty cool that you can replay parts of the game by changing the URL.

teambrookvale 2014-04-29 10:22

Haha that was fun! Love the art style

nonentheless 2014-04-29 10:43

That is great! Nice job!

blazingfanfish 2014-04-29 11:00

Like how the story told. Not sure if Twine support sound, but it would be great if some background sounds are added. :)

ammorechicks 2014-04-29 11:41

Ah, ah! A little bit extreme but very original! I saw a lot of Twine functions I didn't know...

superizzo 2014-04-29 11:56

It started funny then it got sad, but it got me following the mood trough out. Exquisite narrative.

papygaragos 2014-04-29 12:30

Had a good laugh, thank you

binary_girl 2014-04-29 13:44

haha i like it ..well done man :)

robotparking 2014-04-29 14:18

ARRIBA

mrspeaker 2014-04-29 14:36

Funny? You guys are fucked up man! It was awesome. Thouugh, the end did make me lol out loud. That's a lot of lolols.

darkmeatgames 2014-04-29 17:44

Great stuff. Well executed choose your own adventure book that Chuck Palaniuk would probably enjoy. Nice work! Great visual style considering it was 90% text

garygreen 2014-04-29 19:55

That was so well done. Disturbing, thoughtful and funny in a black-humoured way. Really nice work.

oddly-shaped-pixels 2014-04-29 21:44

I normally dont like text stuffs but this one is good, really well written, it catches you. Great game!

udellgames 2014-04-29 22:04

Woah, that was deeper than expected. Kudos!

dmcfarline 2014-04-29 22:29

Something about the minimalist presentation really drew me in

The ending was a bit unexpected!

katamori 2014-04-29 23:35

"i have a fucking galaxy to run." LOL

tobiasw 2014-04-29 23:56

Well, that was pretty cool! Well-written and humorous, with a few really surprising scenes (especially heaven and hell). And the best thing: Great execution! I don't think I've ever seen a Twine game that had so many changes in style - and all of them fit well here. Really good job!

jupiter_hadley 2014-04-30 01:00

Kind of a weird/funny game. I included it in part 2 of my LD29 compilation video series, if you'd like to check it out :)

v3games 2014-04-30 02:38

Your rating is more than the sum of its parts. It's a good idea though.

paperblurt 2014-04-30 07:07

Thanks for all comments so far!

spotco 2014-04-30 09:26

lol wut

randoman 2014-04-30 11:31

Poor Rocky! Very nice entry! Finished 2 paths, I don't know if there is more but I'll keep playing to find out!

ken-ichi 2014-04-30 14:41

Nice game!

Love the God on cellphone ;p~

triplevisiongames 2014-04-30 16:59

I listened to Lovage http://youtu.be/Od8FfT1U820 while playing this. Once the talking stops it works pretty well.

The piano intro song kicked in just as I clicked onto the highway.

The game is fantastic. Your use of colour is perfect and the pacing is brilliant. Every time I play one of your games I think I really want to make something like this but I just don't have the skills!

triplevisiongames 2014-04-30 17:00

I've always wanted to go to *spoiler* !

arrogant-gamer 2014-04-30 17:17

Pretty neat for the first bit, but it kind of lost me when he tries to steal a kid. And then I think I got stuck in the guard's office, trapped by the number of choices.

gazok 2014-04-30 23:15

Hey, thanks for pointing out broken images on my game. Now to return the favour :P

At http://rocky.paperblurt.com/#1l.3.p.a.b.c , "resides" "needs" and "hits" shouldn't have those 's's.
http://rocky.paperblurt.com/#1l.3.p.a.b.c.t.1q.f.c.1g should be "fridge has been"
http://rocky.paperblurt.com/#1l.3.p.a.b.c.t.1q.f.c.1g.s.c.1p.o.7.1m "lived has given", "elderly existence"
http://rocky.paperblurt.com/#1l.3.p.a.b.c.t.1q.f.c.1g.s.c.1p.o.7.1m.1f.1e.5.1e "just not to oblige you"

As for the rest of the game, "Schindler's Fist."
That is all.
But seriously, I really liked a lot of the jokes.

jacob-peltola 2014-05-01 10:19

Humorous and awesome, I just wish it were longer

teamflare 2014-05-01 14:48

Hahaha, I didn't expect this. Great one :)

javifugitivo 2014-05-01 23:53

Lol!

madflame991 2014-05-02 10:51

Funny and sad story with some nice graphics. One of the few text adventures I've played to the end. Arriba!

jacklehamster 2014-05-03 13:58

I'm rarely into text based game, but this one drew me in. The story was somewhat interesting, and the pace didn't feel monotonous. Nice job!

thorig 2014-05-04 18:25

Ariba! (I let 'm go)

frogcheese 2014-05-04 18:48

Humorous, sad, then creepy. But you kept me involved in the story from start to finish. I didn't expect much when I started, but I was sure shown what for - good job! :)

christina-nordlander 2014-05-05 16:08

Unique, involving story, and great use of colour and graphics. A bit linear, but you can't have everything.

Definitely one of your best games. (I may have enjoyed "Alone/Awake" more, but that's because I'm more of a science fiction fan. This story has better visuals, though.)

javadocmd 2014-05-06 16:56

A very interesting mix of funny and sad. The visuals really add a lot of flare.

edibletoaster 2014-05-07 11:01

Well done

kyatric 2014-05-09 19:06

Unexpected and well written.
An interesting interactive story.

Good job on making it and submitting to the compo !

cardboard 2014-05-11 08:05

Interesting. The artwork and overall style was very nice. I'm not used to playing games in silence, but it worked for well for this game.

ilo 2014-05-12 19:50

I always find myself underestimating and then being super impressed by the ingenious stuff people can do in Twine. I really ought to try it some day...

This was, in turns, bizarre, darkly comic, disturbing, surreal, pathos-inducing, and probably more adjectives that I haven't learned yet. :D I agree with the person who saw similarities with this and Chuck Palahniuk's work, and I sensed a bit of Hunter S. Thompson in there too in the way the story itself seemed to go off-road and make a dash for the border (probably to bat country). I'm just glad I'm came along for the ride! :)

thingostudios 2014-05-17 22:35

Everyone's said everything that can be said about this game, methinks. Gross and hilarious while never losing its heart.

withoutpillow 2014-05-19 14:49

hej PaperBlurt!

wilbefast 2014-05-19 21:28

Not sure categories like "fun" really apply to this game, but that you for this... "experience"? Something strangely profound a melancholic, but also very funny on occasion. I'm not sure I have the emotional intelligence to did that far into it, but it gave me a moments pause and quite contemplation about life the universe and everything, even if I'm not sure I understood exactly why it did. Good job sir :)
