Great aesthetics, love the low poly art. The game isn't challenging but I really enjoyed it as an ambient experience-- especially with the track in the background.

Great aesthetics, love the low poly art. The game isn't challenging but I really enjoyed it as an ambient experience-- especially with the track in the background.
Takes sensitive subject material and makes it into a game that's food for thought.
Really neat game, looks really polished! Love the graphics and the gameplay, great job.
Hilarious idea! It's a bit slow at first but then gets pretty engaging. I love that each 'hero' has their own effect on hit (like 'Sonic' losing his rings) and the sound effects are adorably hilarious.
Really cool idea! It took me a short while to get the hang of it, but I really enjoyed the experience (music was so calming) and it's a great interpretation of the theme. Simple, clean and fun.
Sanguine: You have to run behind the bar and collide with it in front of the lady-- it's kinda slapdash! Thank you for the feedback!
@all: Thank you so much for playing my game! Yeah, the collisions are AWFUL-- the layers got buggered up near the end of the compo and I ran out of time to fix them. Thank you all so much for your comments and constructive feedback!
Loved this!! It's simple but pretty addictive and relaxing. The graphics were nice and loved the ambient soundtrack-- great job!
It took me a short while to figure out I needed to interact with the statues to initiate my badassery, but after that this was a neat game. Who doesn't like shooting a billion arrows at an enemy?
Love the bullet-hell inspired boss! Nice game, great graphics. Audio gets a little repetitive but the game is challenging and I spent quite a lot of time playing it.
Great idea! Loved the wee rabbit running around underneath the farmer.
I really liked this, especially the phone conversations between Rocky and God/Satan. Neat.
Really cool concept-- the octopus is also super cute. The game was neat and easy to grasp, plus I loved the plant mechanic. :D
This game reminds me (in a great way) of DoubleFine's Hack 'n Slash. I love games that break the fourth wall and let you look under the hood, and this LD entry was executed really well!
Simple, easy to get into game! I thought the premise was hilarious, great job.
As usual, gorgeous artwork! I liked the idea-- neat and simple, while being fun and a challenge at the same time. Particularly enjoyed the spacecraft's various states of disrepair.
Looks like a great start to a game! Graphics are amazing, neat concept.
Clean, simple game-- liked it!
Really neat game! The audio really suited the theme and it was pretty fun paddlin' around to drill holes in the ships. Well done.
Loved the game, great idea. I often run out a load of scenarios in my head when in a stressful situation, so this is very relatable. :p
Really atmospheric, loved it!
Art is gorgeous, love the palette. Neat take on the theme-- loved the NOPE skeleton. Must admit I also nope'd right out of there.
Audio is neat, and obviously a lot of effort went into it. Game has a nice concept, love multiplayer stuff!
This is a really funny idea-- I loved being able to chuck people in giant holes and the expressions on the people just make it more humorous. I could make the buildings wobble, though. I think that's just from the PC's sheer awesomeness.
Very artistic game, loved the idea of the absorb mechanic. It's not that challenging, but it's beautiful to watch!
Great idea! I like that there are 'junk' items that can fool you into wasting your fire. I also agree with monsterkillu that the torch didn't scale down at the start and then it went down heaps, but that's my only complaint about the game. Great job!
This game is so relaxing! The music was a perfect choice for it and I had a lot of fun playing through. I did bug into a wall once, but it didn't lead me to my certain doom. :p
I really loved the mechanic and the stylized graphics, the game runs on a neat idea.
I love this game so much! There's a bit of a bug at the end when I played it, but the concept is amazing, the graphics are great and it was a bunch of fun to play!
Really enjoyed going pew-pew-pew in this game. Easy to get into, liked the random name generator. It seemed fairly easy to win, but that's my only complaint. Great work for 48 hours!
The whale is the cutest thing ever. Sad to hear you ran out of time, but awesome you still submitted!
Really calm game until it turns the tables on you. Taps into my inner sense of satisfaction for popping bubblewrap.
This game is amazing! I love the premise and it's super polished for a compo entry. Audio is really suitable, plus the orcas are gorgeous. Nothing wins me over like a hungry orca.
Great art and epic music! The levels were quick but engaging, really enjoyed playing this.
Nice game but no need for a lengthy description on how to play. I disliked the controls only because moving left and right is faster than moving forward. After killing all the guards/zombies I had nothing to do either.
Gorgeous game with a surprising amount of narrative for a jam game! Well done. (:
Confusing at the start, but I think the concept is really nice. Would like to see it expanded on!
For some reason the web version didn't run for me in Chrome. :(
The graphic style kinda works for this, and the audio is really neat! The gameplay isn't anything new or innovative but the game is pretty fun for a short while. (:
I really like the concept, the graphics and the music - so awesome! The bars take way too long to fill though and since you can't choose your actions, you end up sitting there for a long time.
Nice, atmospheric take on Simon Says. Could be quite a neat mobile game with a more polished UI!
Movement was a bit difficult, but this was a hugely ambitious concept to do for a 48 hour jam and I think you're on a really good track with the game.
I made all the kids sad. :( Really cool concept, there's a lot to micromanage for the player and while it took me a while to get used to the controls I think this is pretty neat.
Nice simulator, I actually felt like Santa. Really hard to play though.
Nice interpretation of the theme, nice graphics and a cool little concept. Also appreciate the difficulty curve! Unsure why you're in the audio category though, as there is none in your game. :p
One of my favourite games in the jam so far - why aren't there more comments here? SUCH a polished and neat idea, really funny, love the characters, the gameplay and pretty much everything. Please make it into a bigger game!
Really cool idea but the playing field needs to be a lot bigger to accommodate the different classes and their skills.
Thank you for all the constructive comments, guys! There are a few known bugs because our scope got a little big (i.e. fights lasting so long that you can't see the end because it doesn't scroll, an enemy without a name string etc.) and we didn't have time to make the Objective thing super clear - but you can keep playing after you beat the main quest! It's definitely something we want to polish and work on a bit more. :)
@Prox: It's supposed to be a game with short rounds! Ideally we'd like to show those stats somehow in the future, but it was a bit tough trying to find a layout for the screen that displayed everything but remained uncluttered. If the game is a bit too big, I suggest zooming out inside your browser window. :) The deaths are mostly random (and silly), like the rest of the game. Thank you for your comments!
The choose action menu bug is also known. ;_; Sorry about that, guys! You can always refresh, but yeah, it's a bit of a shit.
Thanks again for all the awesome comments! <3
Thanks for the comments, guys! <3 Addressing a few points:
- the race/gender selection is supposed to be locked after selection. We wanted to make it changeable after you died, but I'm not sure we got there in time.
- I agree the 'And' box is too small. We ran out of time and squished the text in, but making everything better laid out/visible would definitely be a crucial design point if we polished the game more.
- We are considering a mobile/PC release because we really enjoyed this concept!
- Quest log idea really good idea. <3
- I agree, not being able to see how you died is shitty (because there are a couple of random death scenarios in the game), definitely a design error. Again attributed to running out of time... aren't jams fun. :D
- More illustrations/better generated content would be a thing in a more polished version. I love drawing shinies.
- Quest was supposed to change once you finished it but we know atm that the slot machine images bug.
- We had an inventory/trade system also programmed, but couldn't implement it in time in any meaningful way (you would've just been getting the crown and trading it out repeatedly).
- I'm glad the gender thing was okay! I did a bit of sourcing on Twitter on how best to approach it, and while I didn't have much time to research it deeply b/c of jam time constraints, the least I wanted to do was make gender non-binary because, well, life is non-binary.
- Please feel free to suggest anything else you think would improve the game or you'd like to see! All this constructive crit has been great and we really appreciate it. <3
(Pug Queen is indeed OP.)
@badlydrawnrod: Give your wife a hi-five from us, the video was great! Poor Mum the Duck. :(
@ibilon: Put up Windows and Linux standalone builds! Hope you enjoy. (:
@klianc09: Thank you! We address all those issues some way up the page. Cheers for the constructive crit (:
Interesting concept, though I found it hard to plant new seeds. Liked the night to day animation!
The bagjump is way too hard for me, but this was a nice concept!
The graphics are really amazing - love all the designs! The music is great too and I loved the concept. I was pretty bad at the start but you get used to the interactions etc. Nice set of behaviours, animations and content, love this!
Awesome and catchy song, the sound effects bring it down though. The game itself was pretty hard and didn't have a lot of gameplay.
Great concept. Really good puzzle game. Quite hard, but that really fits the game.
I really like the concept, and am always up for a good game about cows. It was sometimes difficult to control which direction my head was shooting in, but I enjoyed growing my herd etc. :D
Pretty clunky controls making for not such a fun experience. Liking the idea though
Neat idea, I love mythological games. It's pretty fun but the controls were a bit difficult for me, as was the fact that the spears didn't despawn so I couldn't see much. It was really fun though and I liked Xerxes' trashtalk. :p
The gameplay is really fun and the graphics are great. Aiming is a bit difficult and I think you should be punished for jumping from person to person too quickly, but I had a lot of fun playing it! Also, the stapler is OP as hell.
I'm awful at puzzles so I got stuck fairly quickly, but I love the music and art you put into the game! The palette makes me drool it's so beautiful.
Really interesting interpretation of theme! Let down by the lag you have when streaming (unavoidable) but an interesting take. (:
I really liked the idea of having such a huge world, but the controls are really difficult (at least for me) and are a bit of a barrier to getting into the flow/enjoying the game. The graphics are really nice and remind of me the old DOS platformer days (i.e. Jill of the Jungle). :)
Neat game, lovely graphics. A bit slow but I really like the theme and direction!
Very beautiful minimalist game. I liked the approach of making it an unusual resolution, it really fits the game. The puzzle is very abstract though, causing quite some frustration.
I absolutely love the art direction/lighting of the game (holy crap in 48 hours!) and the concept is really cool! I picked up a bomb and couldn't left click to use it, but I think I might just have been doin' it wrong. :p
Really nice experience! The graphics, narrative and sound were all gorgeous, but there was little to no gameplay in it. As it is, I would call it more of an experience than a game but still an impressive, gorgeous piece of work for two days. :)
The theme was captured nicely, but the controls feel very clumsy.
Funny game, background music is very repetitive though and not very fitting to the game's mood.
I enjoyed the brake, gas, gas?! but oh my goddd what is going on
Cool entry! I kept pressing space to jump (instinctively) and dropping the books, but it's a neat little physics game and I love the lighting effects/audio.
I think the concept of this game is super neat and I know you learned a bunch making it, which is the best thing about LD. (:
Very polished game. Reminds me a lot of the party game Mafia but with more interaction. I would just like some more sound effects :)
Nice stylish game. Love the concept. Checkpoint is kind of far away for such a relentless camera. The exploding ragdoll is epic. Not sure how it's related to the theme though.
Not really an RPG but it's definitely for ants! Fun little game.
Really nice take on the theme! I had a bit of trouble controlling the spider attacks, but I love the concept and thought it was really well executed. Well done, team. :)
Simple little platformer, the sounds have a too high pitch for my liking.
A cool idea, to play as the boss instead of the adventurers! Agree with the combo multiplier comment, perhaps some screenshake. Neat. :D
It's a very simple game (and the hitbox for the pies is a little cruel) but I love the graphics & the little details you can see. :)
SO MUCH BUTTER.
First comment! I really like this game, it reminds me a lot of Wolfenstein-style and it's really cool you have a procedural dungeon. Neat use of space having both the dungeon map and attack screen on the same area!
Interesting concept!
This is a really neat concept, but it's a little difficult to know when to push the buttons. If you work on it further, I suggest putting a bar that indicates when you're supposed to hit it. (:
Really cool concept. Really like the photos on the cards and the combat system. With some balancing this could be really cool!
Really nice spooky atmosphere, loved the interpretation of the theme. Reminded me a bit of Five Nights at Freddy's! Loved the implementation of the TV shows too, you guys did a great job.
Reminds me kinda of the direction 'This War Of Mine' takes, in a good way. Really liked the audio and the idea, need more serious games. :)
I bugged it a bit when I asked for a cig and then the sprites wouldn't go away from the main game screen, but I really liked what you did with your game! Feels really old school and I think it's actually really cool you guys used Blender, an unexpected tool for a 2D pixel game.
Quite neat! It wasn't obvious where the wave was first coming from so I had to guess where to put my first turrets which was kinda sad, but it's obvious you put a bunch of effort into the game. Good job!
I think you guys did really well for three days! It's not super scary, but scary atmosphere is something that takes a lot of time/tweaking to cultivate and with the time you had I think you did great. Big fan of these kind of horror games :D
Can't run the game unfortunately, is the executable missing?
Nice concept, would be nice to see it worked out with more gameplay!
Love the style, gameplay is a bit clumsy but really nice concept. Nice audio too!
Not really a game, it's more of a story being told. It does have a good mood and the story is nicely presented. The major problem though is that a a certain point it becomes unplayable due to FPS issues
Loved the aesthetic, neat idea. Falling tiles really keeps you on your toes and I liked the sword mechanic. <:
Hahaha, I thought this was really cute-sy at the start, then the music changed and shit got real. Nice change of tempo, neat little game and concept!
I really like this little game! Big fan of Game and Watch, so I loved the style. (:
Nice small game, too bad the gameplay is really clunky, making the game not very enjoyable. The voice-over is quite epic though!
Nice small and simple game. Unfortunately no sound.
Nice simple game. Would be great to expand with some different enemies with different speeds, different shooting patterns etc.
Nice execution but I feel this doesn't really capture the jam's theme. I like the fact that you can control your summons. RTS movement and controls feel pretty slick too.
This is a really fun little game, love the humor and the concept! Really nice art/audio too.
Great mood for the game. Reminds me a lot of battleship. Would be a great concept to expand on!
This is more of an experience than a game, but it's a REALLY gorgeous one and I'm sad there aren't any other comments on your piece yet! The story book idea and visuals are neat (though a little bit too zoomed out for me, would've been nice to be closer to see the detail) and I think there's some cool potential there. Music was also lovely and whimsical, and wow, kudos for doing randomly generated levels! Be proud of what you did. :D
Gorgeous looking game! The learning curve with the controls is quite high but it's a fun wee game that's infinitely charming. Everything is so cute. ;_;
The voxel style was really lovely - curious what program you used to make them! Neat little platformer, well done. :)
Neat little game, but I got to a point where there were no more weapons around and I couldn't do anything. Also... you didn't write the music, this is The Entertainer by Scott Joplin, an amazing ragtime composer of the past.
