Great job with the multi-level parallax, works wonders for underground locales.

ix 2014-04-28 03:11

Great tuning on the jetpack!

mental-atrophy 2014-04-28 03:11

Hey, we nearly made the same game. The zoom really helped with finding the gems.

valgriz 2014-04-28 03:21

Your game came out very nice!
I like the generated world as well as the dynamic background.

deadarius 2014-04-28 03:33

The best I have seen so far, well done:)

renatopp 2014-04-28 04:13

Good job on the procedural generation and the multilevel parallax. Also Loved your artwork. Just missed the challenges.

drprettypatty 2014-04-28 04:45

Very nice graphics and sound! The controls were perfect too!

priorblue 2014-04-28 05:11

Nice and fun little game, with a goal and more enemies, it would be more interesting in the end.

terraco 2014-04-28 05:34

Great work. That jet pack was a god send!

techblogogy 2014-04-28 05:57

Good! What else can I say

dreii 2014-04-28 06:18

Hah, my game was very much like this in the begining! I realy DIG it...heph heph heph, really nice though seriously really like the paralax, I wasnt able to get it into mine :)

pheonise 2014-04-28 06:47

Really neat game! Visuals were consistent, audio matched well, and the parallax really made for an interesting scene.
Good job!

monsterkillu 2014-04-28 06:53

Great game and nice audio-visual Feeling..Smooth controls. I wish there was some form of levelling up/refuelling stations/upgrades/more enemies/treasures etc :)

angelk 2014-04-28 07:11

Parallax looks great, and I really love that the bullets can destroy parts of the level. Seems like the random level generation works well. I did notice there was no game over condition when I got swarmed by bats :)

rincewind_cz 2014-04-28 07:48

It took me some time to figure that I have jetpack. Pity that it's unfinished and lacking some objective. Next time.. ;-)

theholychicken 2014-04-28 07:50

Very awesome for a first Ludum Dare!
The parallax works brilliantly to avoid feeling claustrophobic.

codehat 2014-04-28 08:36

Nice game with great gameplay.

jools64 2014-04-28 11:28

This game is neat, really cool looking parallax effect. The cave generation seemed to work really well and I liked the extra zoom feature.

It would have been nice if you could have added more enemies, guns, etc, but it's understandable with the time frame given that the content is pretty limited. Also when I ran out of hearts I didn't die. I'm not sure if that's a glitch or it just wasn't implemented.

All the same, fantastic effort for your first LD! Well done!

pietro-ferrantelli 2014-04-28 15:26

Great job ! Gameplay is awesome :)

ninjacharlie 2014-04-28 20:25

Nice job!

The bad things:
- The bats were a little hard to shoot
- There wasn't much progression (it would be better if there was some objective i.e. Escape the caves with as many gems as possible, or something like that).
- Walking was a little slow

The good:
- JETPACKS ARE AWESOME
- DESTRUCTIBLE TERRAIN IS AWESOME
- It was pretty polished
- The parallax was cool

I had a lot of fun with this one. Kudos to you, especially since this is your first LD :)

griz 2014-04-28 20:37

Pretty funny if you play it with a mouse macro on. Great job for your first entry!

figglewatts 2014-04-28 21:23

The parallax was really nice, and the controls were pretty slick. Nice work! Solid game.

dragonxvi 2014-04-28 22:07

Nifty little game, and who doesn't love jetpacks? Good base for something, worth keeping at to see where it goes!

ryannielson 2014-04-28 22:29

Great little game, quite simple, but the aesthetic really makes it stand out. The parallax effect is wonderful, good work!

bonedaddy 2014-04-29 00:56

That screenshot looks so good, but unfortunately I cannot play it. It won't work on my PC (Windows 7). Nothing happens when I click run... :(

fyberoptic 2014-04-29 01:14

@BoneDaddy It could mean that you don't have Java installed on your system. Even the EXE version of the game will need it. I hope that's all it is, at least!

And I really appreciate everyone's positive and constructive comments! It's definitely made my first LD experience feel worthwhile.

archaeometrician 2014-04-29 03:30

Nice work I love it :)

unixxnova 2014-04-29 06:13

Love shooting enemies while using jet pack great game could have had a bit more story

nicolashognon 2014-04-29 11:44

the game does not start on my imac (osx 10.6.8)

conormn 2014-04-29 12:22

Really like the style you have for this. The parallaxing is great! Also works great on my mac OS 10.9.2. Thanks for making :)

doubstract 2014-04-29 12:54

It's so simple, but i love it! Jetpack is amazing here!

binary_girl 2014-04-29 15:15

nice jetpack and parallax..good job :)

aaronjbaptiste 2014-04-29 21:37

Awesome bro! Really liked the jet pack, none of this limited fuel business! Visuals are stunning too. Perhaps missing a little more depth in gameplay, but you done a terrific job in the time.

oddly-shaped-pixels 2014-05-01 12:09

Parallax scrolling!!! Yeah! Really impressive work for 48 hrs, it's so fun to just wander with the jetpack and destroy all the tiles. Would be better with some kind of objective or real difficulty!

anbreizh 2014-05-01 19:45

Nice little game, too bad it's unfinished (no goal, no way to die)

nanolotl 2014-05-04 03:42

Really liked the destructible terrain and the parallax background.
Bats seemed to stop showing up after a while though.

myyyvothrr 2014-05-04 11:21

Nice game, I especially liked the depth of the cave and the destructible tiles!

pinkmonkeyhead 2014-05-04 18:35

amazing mechanics!

csanyk 2014-05-05 21:20

The bats flying through rock that I can't shoot through is really unfair.

thaaks 2014-05-13 19:09

I liked the parallax scrolling and the player, rock and bat graphics.
The controls are not intuitive, WASD would have been easier for me.
I think the level is too big and I didn't know if there is another one, where to find all the gems and how many are remaining to collect.
The jetpack was fun and I think if you finetune the game a bit it will be a lot of fun!
