This game was really cool. It works well with the theme and is really fun to play. Great job, this is one of my favorite LD games that I've played!

This game was really cool. It works well with the theme and is really fun to play. Great job, this is one of my favorite LD games that I've played!
Very cool idea and well executed. I really like the gameplay and the graphics are simple but still stylish.
I found experimenting and seeing how all the different materials interact with each other really interesting. That combined with good level design kept me going through the game. The music is also nice and calming.
Great job!
This is a really neat little game. The graphics are really nice and the gameplay feels nice and smooth. I like the momentum, it gives the game some proper depth in the absence of manipulable jumping.
I did have a few problems though:
Some times the camera wouldn't follow fast enough when I was moving at a high speed. I also found that the camera shaking effect was a little too much and made it very difficult to see. I understand that you did that on purpose to make it challenging but the fake platforms are extremely difficult to avoid because of it.
I also ran into a bug where if I died many times on a level, especially if I got fairly far in, the camera would begin to miss align. After many deaths the player would completely disappear off one side of the screen which made the game almost impossible to play.
Other than those issues though, this was an awesome game with nice level and I really enjoyed it. I'm quite impressed with how many levels you managed to make within the time.
Good job!
This was a really cool game.
I loved the dialog, it kept me going through the whole game. It was really funny, especially the later stuff. The concept of smashing up things to minimize a nice take on the theme and also fun.
I'm amazed at how much content you managed to get in and also at the level of polish. Everything felt really smooth, from the transitions and text box animations, to the general movement and smashing things. The graphics where really cute and stylish too, I really like how many different sprites you made for the little people.
Good job!
This was a solid fun game to play and very pretty visually.
I found the controls quite interesting and different once I got used to them.
The only real fault would be the lack of any other enemy types. (From what I ran into. I got to stage 5.)
It would have been nice to have seen some variation. Also some sound would have been nice. ;)
Awesome game, well done!
Great for a second attempt at a game ever. I liked the art, it fit the theme well and looked fairly unique.
The game-play was not bad but I found I could pretty much stay alive just by holding right and mashing the jump key. Maybe obstetrical in the air too would have helped.
None the less, good job!
I think this is a really cool idea but I found it way to difficult to spell out words with such fast paced game-play and constantly moving targets.
The game felt good to play in general though, the controls felt good and the movement felt solid. I really like the simple look of the graphics too. The particles where a nice touch.
To summarize, this was a cool game with a nice idea but by the end I was just playing it like any other shooter and not even thinking about the spelling mechanic.
Good job!
I enjoyed this game quite a bit. It was short but sweet.
Good job!
This was a really interesting game. I really like the story it was telling and I'm amazed at how much scripted movement you managed to include for the people.
The graphics where however a little messy looking though and the lack of sound was quite noticeable in a game that focuses fairly heavily on atmosphere and story telling.
Having said that, I did really like the game up until the man started following me and I accidentally walked into a position where he was blocking the only exit. That made it impossible to progress any further into the game which was a real shame.
Good work all the same.
This was a really cool idea and I love the visuals. You picked nice colors and used simple shapes in a very pleasing way.
I agree with Ty Taylor however in that the lives system really hurts the game. It's very annoying to be set back. I'd rather have a shorter game with unlimited lives than have to play through the first few levels a bunch of times.
Other than that though, fantastic game. I really like it.
This game is super cool!
The level transition animations are awesome, I'm really impressed you managed to put together so many in the time given.
I really like the graphics too, very minimalistic but also very stylish.
My only minor complaint is that it was a bit too easy to breeze through. Only one jump ever gave me any trouble.
Great game, nice work!
This seemed like a good start to a game but there's really not enough there to be that fun.
The core movement was good and the basic enemies where nice but it was way too easy. I didn't even realize that the final enemy was a boss until I read your post. Un-pausing the game between each level was also quite annoying.
Anyway as I said, good start but needed a bit more. It seems like you had nice foundations but just didn't have enough time to make a full game.
Kudos for what you have managed though, I imagine writing a 3D OpenGL based game takes time.
I really enjoyed my time with this game. I found the gameplay to be pretty solid and the amount of variation in the enemies in combination with the shop upgrades kept it fun for a good while.
I do have a couple things that I'd like to nitpick about though:
I feel like the graphics where a little weak. I understand it's meant to be simple but they lacked some style. (Except the bad ass player with his top hat.) I also found that the particles often hid bullets, especially the little red lightning bolts which was pretty annoying.
The music was fairly nice but looped far too quickly and the lack of sound effects was a bit of a shame.
Other than that though I had a good amount of fun with this game and by the end I was the destroyer of all things. (I also think the game might have glitched and made me invincible.)
None the less, good game. Well done!
Wow, I'm in awe. Amazing game, great work. Pretty much flawless.
This game is great
Pretty funny concept and nice implementation. My main problem is that 10 seconds just isn't enough to do much. Maybe getting seconds back for eating virgins would help.
The graphics where very nice, great job on that. I also really liked the music and sound effects.
Nice effort!
Super fun and really hard.
The physics where great, the level design was fun and the difficulty curve felt pretty natural. The sound was fitting and I loved the gun noises. Made everything feel quite tense.
Awesome game, good work!
Very cool idea. I really liked the clever level design that had both puzzle and skill based execution elements. Felt like you managed to make good use of the concept and didn't drag it out to the point that it became boring.
The graphics are very cute and I appreciate the addition of music and sound effects.
All round, fantastic job!
Fantastic game!
I just wish it was a bit longer. :(
Great job!
This isn't the most original concept ever but it fits the theme well and is very well built.
The game-play feels very solid with nice controls and I like the interesting coin formations and switching rocket sequence.
The graphics are clean, stylized and overall very nice. They fit the game well. Finally the audio is also quite nice.
Great job!
Great game, very intense.
I really enjoyed the challenging levels, they felt hard and yet not so hard that I wanted to quit. The graphics where nice and fitted the game well and the sound was nice. I really liked the combination of the text and sound with the different rhythms.
Great job!
This game has awesome graphics. I really like the details like the number on the character's face actually moving around. Unfortunately the game-play was a little uninteresting. Just collecting white orbs and avoiding red orbs got pretty repetitive.
All the same, great work. I loved the aesthetic!
Very fun game!
I loved the controls and physics. Would have been nice to have a mouse sensitivity setting. The level design was also really nice. The game flowed nicely while feeling fairly challenging. Some help boxes would have also improved things a bit though such as for the boost pads requiring that you jump on the tip.
The graphics where neat and suited the game. The audio also fit well and sounded nice!
Excellent job guys!
I really liked the style of this game. It looks very interesting and had nice game-play. It was a tad bit short but all the same I really enjoyed it! The music was nice and gave the game a good atmosphere.
Great job!
Loved this game!
The graphics where really nice and stylistic, the music was neat and the sound effects fitted in well. The level design was great, I found the difficulty curve to be quite harsh at the beginning but it evened out nicely towards the end.
Great job!
This was a very cool game.
I really enjoyed the different seed mechanics. They made the game-play varied and very interesting. The platforming engine felt nice and solid. The only problem I had was enemy projectiles knocking me back really far.
The graphics where very nice and the sound works well with the game.
Great job!
The installer made me cry but I guess it was necessary if your game has dependencies.
I really like the game-play. it reminded me of Cook Serve Delicious. Sometimes it's hard to distinguish what some of the ingredients are without hovering the mouse over. I guess that adds to the challenge but I would have liked a picture of what I was looking for or something.
Good job guys!
This is a really fascinating game. It has a really cool concept and a very inventive use of the theme. I really like the way it plays, I just wish more people where online to play with.
Excellent job!
This was a very neat little game.
I kinda wrote this off as being a little boring right at the start but as soon as I ran into the other enemies and game-play variations I really started enjoying it. Overall I'd say the game-play is very fun and addictive, making good use of the theme.
The graphics are not fantastic but they do service the game well enough. It looks like you put in a fair bit of effort with the effects so props for that.
The sound was a little lackluster with just beeps and bloops but I appreciate any sound implemented in the time limit.
Good job, I enjoyed playing it greatly!
Very neat game,
I really liked that you managed to implement randomly generated levels within the time limit. Unfortunately one of the levels generated was impossible but I played quite a few and it only happened once.
The graphics where nice, it was shame you didn't have time to add sound. I really liked your use of the theme though. Dropping and picking up the bag added a layer of strategy.
Great work!
This is a really cool looking and sounding game but I found it very difficult to dodge anything considering the small area that is on screen in front of the car.
I did really love the car customization though, my banana car with pokeball wheels looked excellent!
Good job guys.
This is a nice engine for a digital novel kinda game. The game it's self however didn't seem to have much content at all. Maybe I'm missing something but I only got to make one choice and the game ended directly after regardless of which one I picked.
None the less, a very solid engine. I'd like to see a full game build with it.
This is a very cool idea. I really liked the upgrade system and the whole scouting out the map before hand and planning your route.
My biggest complaint would be the difficulty is quite random although that is also to be expected in a game including random generation made in 48 hours.
Good job!
This game is really fun. It's so simple and yet it continues to feel fresh as you upgrade. It goes from fairly slow and easy to very fast and intense. The curve feels very natural and well balanced.
Excellent job!
Very nice graphics and solid gameplay. I really enjoyed this game. My only issue was I felt like it went from a nice difficulty to very hard almost instantaneously at one point. A slightly nicer difficulty curve would have helped. Other than that though, the game is almost flawless.
Great job!
I BEAT YOUR HIGHSCORE AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.
I BEAT YOUR HIGHSCORE AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.
But really though, great game! Very addictive and fun. The graphics where not the best but they where very interesting and colorful. The sound was also nice.
Great job!
I am really impressed by this game.
I absolutely love the graphics. They are so nice, clean and stylistic. Beautiful, well done!
Same for the music. It's excellent and I'd happily put it in my music folder for repeat listening in the future.
The games engine is really solid and overall the game feels very solid with smooth transitions and nice controls.
The only thing that I find kind of disappointing is that it is such a standard shmup. I like the little shield element but everything else has been seen before many times. All the same, the game is still a lot of fun and I enjoyed it greatly.
Fantastic work all three of you!
I really like this game, it has very nice graphics and I like the 3d touch. The game-play was solid and very fun. Maybe slightly too strong gravity but otherwise great. The level design was also really cool and I felt like it showed off the games engine well. My only problem was at one point it just got way too hard with a laser that was flashing way too fast for me to get through.
Great job guys!
I loved the shooting sections but the corridor bits really hurt the game for me. It was so fun running around and killing the bad guys but mashing two random keys is not fun and exhausting.
Still a very good effort and I'd love to see future entries from you.
Good work!
I could not get this game to run I'm afraid. I came into the following error when I tried to run the exe:
"There should be 'Cave AstronautStandalone_Data'
folder next to the executable"
Madness. Carrots everywhere. So little time.
This was a fun game but a little to difficult. A nicer curve would have made things better.
I really liked the graphics, they where really neat. I especially loved the wave text made out of corn.
Great job! Very impressive for the time that you spent on it.
This seems like a cool idea but I could not manage to even complete the first level. It's a shame because everything else was really nice like the graphics and sound.
The fact that you had to restart the game every-time you died just made to frustrating to continue playing though.
All the same, good work. The game has some potential, I'd like to see future entries from you guys!
Really liked this game.
The Gameboy aesthetic was really neat and suited the game well. I thought the idea was great too, the platforming felt nice and solid.
My only complaints would be the lack of sound and the harsh difficulty curve. (I was unable to finish the game sadly.)
Fantastic job!
Beautiful game.
The graphics are excellent, the great sprites and tiles mixed with the cool lighting effects really make the game incredibly polished looking.
The game-play was really fast paced and fun. I thought the difficulty curve felt fairly natural although it did get too hard for me eventually. The implementation of the theme fit the game well.
The sounds where nice but it's a shame that the game didn't have any music.
Excellent work!
This game had very nice graphics and sound. I really like the game-play idea too.
I occasionally had some strange problems with the physics that made the game a little harder than it had to be. (Loosing double jump on moving platforms and loosing all horizontal speed when touching a platform.)
Cool game, good work!
Very funny game. Some of the combinations of words where hilarious. The idea in general was great and used the theme well. Both the graphics and the sound fitted the game well.
Good job!
I posted this on Newgrounds already but I'll just stick it here too. ;)
Wow, this game is so fantastic. I absolutly loved all of it from start to finish, sound, gameplay, audio, everything. The only one thing I would say is that the cliff climb was a little too difficult / felt a bit like game mechanic abuse. It seemed like I was being directed away from climbing up because it was so much harder than anything else in the game. That aside I'm totally astounded with how great a job you guys did. Amazing work!
I really liked this game. Fantastic graphics and really solid and fun game-play. The music was also very retro sounding and cool and the sound effects worked well with the game. Great job!
This game looks amazing, I love the art. It has nice sound and solid movement too. The only real problem with it is it's too hard because of the lack of checkpoints. Having to go back to the start everytime I get hit by one of the small fish was a real bummer.
Still, amazing effort on all other fronts, well done guys!
Amazing atmosphere and aesthetics. I did feel that the game played way too slowly though. It does contribute to the overall theme and feel of the game in terms of slow discovery but it also leaves the game without any interesting mechanics.
Awesome in terms of an experience but not so much as a game. Still, amazing work and great use of the theme!
The graphics are incredibly, I love the pixel art. The game-play also felt solid, it was just a bit too slow. Too much grinding for small rewards and I felt like my progress was slowing with depth rather than increasing because of the long climb.
Fantastic work on the presentation and solid game all round. I'd love to see this game continued and expanded upon.
This is a very cool game, great graphics, cool music and interesting game-play. I think it would have benefited from some more enemy types and weapon types but still, fantastic job!
This was quite a fun relaxing game. The only real problem with it was that there's no goal except buy upgrades so you can mine for upgrades faster. If you had some kind of boss to fight or some deep cave you have to reach that would be cool.
None the less, great effort!
Great game, very funny. I couldn't break through the ice though, much to my disappointment. I came close but not quite there. I'm gonna blame it on being on a rubbish laptop track pad and sitting in a bad position. I refuse to believe it's because I suck. ;)
This is a really great and fun game. I enjoyed it from start to finish and I really liked the secret based game-play. Really good use of the theme with the story as well. The boss fight was my favorite part. You don't often see decent bosses in Ludum Dare entries. Excellent Work!
Fantastic game, so damn smooth. I really love the animations and the variations in the enemies felt good. I did feel that after you stopped introducing new enemies it got a little less interesting, that's totally acceptable within the time limit though.
Excellent work, really solid game!
This game was really enjoyable, fun game-play and excellent graphics and audio. The ending was fantastic too. Great work!
This game is really cool twist on the classic snake gameplay. The presentation is great and I love the music. My only suggestion would be some kind of powerup that could temporarly make the whole area visible in order to extend the game a bit more for noobs like me. ;)
Great work!
Excellent game! Really enjoyable.
This is a really cool idea but the implementation is a little sketchy. I managed to immediately get my self stuck in the ceiling at the start by engaging the jump pad while standing under the wall. I also found falling in holes to be a bit odd considering you do not die, you are able to just keep moving.
Everything else was great though. The level design seemed quite clever and the graphics were nice. Good work!
Really cool game, reminds me a lot of a game called Death Worm. Good graphics, solid controls and nice sound effects. Great work!
This is a fantastic game, I'm really impressed! I love all of it, the sound, graphics and game-play. It felt like something quite unique that I've never seen before. The amount of polish with all the little animations is awesome.
Great job! One of my favorites.
Very neat game, had that kind of Gameboy Zelda feel to it. Nice graphics and solid game-play. My only complaints would be the enemy movement patterns. The skeletons just moving up and down seemed a bit redundant and the bosses projectiles were really hard to dodge.
This is a fun little game. The core game-play felt really good and enjoyable. I think a good addition would have been more enemy types or events to make you move in different ways in order to change things up a little.
The graphics where simple but stylish. I really liked the day night cycle in the background. Good job!
Very atmospheric and relaxing game. I really like it. The graphics where beautiful and the sounds fit the game perfectly. The game-play was a little simple but solid.
Great work!
Very cool graphics, I especially liked the monster and his chomping. The game-play was a little simple but definitely fun. The sound effects were also very neat.
Great work!
This is a really nice looking game, I love the look of the sky, it's fantastic. The gameplay was fun and addictive. One thing that I wasn't so keen on was the highscore calculation through. It would have been nice if the amount of rooms and staff had been taken into account. At the end I had a massive amount of rooms but only 20 score to show for it because I was spending as I was playing and that seemed like the most fun way to play.
Great work guys!
Very fun and fast paced game. The particle effects were really nice! My only complaint would be that the dash was a bit too easy to accidently perform. I would have prefered just a seperate key rather than the double tap.
Great work!
Pretty funny and cute game. I found the collisions to be a little strange at times. Touching the side of a wall seemed to kill my upward momentum which was a little annoying. Everything else was great though. I liked the use of lighting to enhance the visuals and the crying mechanic was quite interesting. I liked sacrificing life for bullets.
Great job!
I enjoyed playing through this quite a lot. It was fun, the graphics were pretty nice and there was a good amount of content. One issue I ran into though was falling straight through a falling platform. That was pretty annoying having to restart for that. Still, great work!
This is a pretty neat game but it has a pretty serious glitch, at least it did on my computer. As I played the frame-rate gradually died. (I have an i7 CPU with decent graphics card.) Eventually the frame-rate was completely un-playable and the enemies all glitched out and got stuck at the bottom of the screen.
I feel like this would be a pretty nice entry if it wasn't for that bug. At the start the game-play felt solid and the graphics all fit together. All in all, nice work but it has some issues that need solving.
I really enjoyed this one, cool looking graphics and fun game-play. I really liked the addition of a boss fight at the end. Great work!
Very cool game, I loved the idea of the narration as you progress. It was otherwise quite a simple game but the narrative kept me playing to the end. A very enjoyable experience, good work!
Excellent game, I really love the visuals. The game-play is very fun too. Sometimes however, the physics where a little funky such as really high double jump if you press it quickly and getting stuck in the sides of platforms.
Overall a great amount of content, one of my favorite games so far.
Very cool little game. I really loved the art work. Great job!
Very nice little game. I really liked the narrative aspect and the visuals where beautiful. Kind of simple game-play but changing up the patterns of things to collect and things that hurt you kept it interesting.
Great work!
This game was fun and funny. Good graphics and challenging game-play that ramped up pretty nicely. Great job!
The game wouldn't load for me unfortunately. I just get the Unity loader and it says: "Error launching Unity Player". If I click on error details it says: "Bad file length." The screenshots look really nice though. I'd love to play it if the issue could be fixed.
This is a cool idea, unique and fun to play. Good work!
Really nice polished game-play with a couple of neat mechanics like being able to play with multiple fish at once. The main problem with this game is the initial difficulty. I feel like I don't get very far at all before the game's over everytime.
Still, great work!
Very cool idea with this one. It was really fun balancing the two different game-play styles and nice how they impacted each other. The only issues I ran into was on my first play I didn't get any sound and it also crashed at one point and froze my browser when I hit a wall. Everything was flawless on the second playthrough though.
Great work!
Really nice graphics and music and solid game play. My only issue with the game was that it wasn't too interesting on a mechanics front. There wasn't really any gimmicks, it was just a very straight forward run around and shoot the bad guys and pick stuff up.
Still, fantastic job. Very polished experience!
This was more of an experience than a game for. I loved the voice acting, it was hilarious. As far as the game-play though, it wasn't too interesting. Still, this was the funniest game I've played so far and highly enjoyable to sit and listen to. Great work!
This is a neat game, it was very challenging though. I managed to collect all the keys but as I searched round I couldn't find anything and died. (I probably missed something I imagine.)
I really like the extra polish like the screen transitions on the menu and all the pixel art was nice.
Good job!
Really fantastic game, one of the best that I've played!
This seemed like a pretty neat game but sadely it crashes for me everytime I mine the mineral ore. It seems like it might be the sound crashing it or something. Could just be my computer, hope you find a fix if not!
My OS just in case: Windows 8 64bit
Great work for a first entry and I liked the idea but it was a little too slow for me. Too much time spent digging without any real action. Also would have liked a purchasable torch as the lower sections are very dark.
Good job! Definitely has potential. Also congrats on your first Ludum Dare!
This is a neat little game. I liked the idea of the little story points as you collected secrets and the graphical style was quite interesting. I liked that the player cycled through multiple colors so it could clash with the background in an interesting way. I'd say it could use a few more mechanics to make it a bit more fun but still a great effort. Good job!
This was a nice game. I found the game-play to be pretty solid but the difficulty was a little too up and down. The visuals where great and the audio was nice. I really liked the story too, it was pretty funny and the little cutscenes were a nice touch. Great work!
This was a very intense game to play in terms of themes and story. I thought it was very well done bringing up serious real world issues while keeping them in a very video game like world. It allowed you to get across a powerful message while still having a fun game behind it. I especially loved the initial subtlety with the little bits of dialog between them as I left one character behind.
Excellent game, the only two small issues I had were rocks not falling in holes very easily and jumping sequences between screens. The last jumping sequence was quite a pain because of the ground and the moving platforms being on different screens
This is a great entry, nice graphics, sound and game-play. The level design is really nice, made me think while not being annoyingly difficult. Well done!
I liked this game, it was a really cool idea. It really would have benefited from some more levels and more interesting applications of the core game mechanic.
Great job!
This game is neat, really cool looking parallax effect. The cave generation seemed to work really well and I liked the extra zoom feature.
It would have been nice if you could have added more enemies, guns, etc, but it's understandable with the time frame given that the content is pretty limited. Also when I ran out of hearts I didn't die. I'm not sure if that's a glitch or it just wasn't implemented.
All the same, fantastic effort for your first LD! Well done!
Very cool idea, I really had fun with this game. I wish it was a little longer but I guess you can always extend it in the future. Great work!
This looks really cool. It's a shame you didn't get around to implementing all the collisions and bullets and stuff. I imagine it would have been really fun to play. Hopefully you can expand on it at some point. Good work on accomplishing what you did in the time though!
Really nice looking game with a great atmosphere but it wasn't really very fun to play.
Still, nice job at conveying such a nice little world. Great work!
The menus were really nice and the little bit of game-play was neat, there just wasn't really very much of it. It's a shame you weren't able to finish it, I hope you keep working on it though. The idea seems really cool. Good work!
Fun little game, good idea but could do with a few more game-play elements to keep it interesting. Good job!
This is a neat little game and an impressive effort for someone of your age. I liked the little transition to night at the end. Well done!
I really enjoyed this. The gameplay was a little simple and a kind of frustrating because of the lack of check points but the funny dialog made it so worth playing through. Easily the funniest entry I've played yet. The graphics also had a nice asthetic to them and the audio was relaxing.
Great job!
This is a cool little game. Not too much to it but everything that's there felt and looked good. Well done!
Very solid top down shooter, great graphics, soundtrack and very fun game-play. I really liked the little messages on the ground too. Nice work!
This game has some nice graphics and pretty solid gameplay.
It did have one issue that made it less fun though: I found my self getting hit quite a lot due to slightly odd sword collisions and also occasionally enemies getting bounced forward into me by my own sword. That was a bit of a pain. After a while I decided just to run through the levels without fighting and it was actually a lot easier.
With that combat issued out, this would be a pretty fun game. Great work on what you managed to accomplish!
