This was a great little game. I played the entire way through. Nice progression, nice level design. My favorite so far.

This was a great little game. I played the entire way through. Nice progression, nice level design. My favorite so far.
Hey we really did make similar games, eh? But yours is really fleshed out. I like all the various weapon upgrades, the barriers you have to figure your way through while fending off baddies, and the destructible environment. One of my favorites so far.
Visually it's beautiful. And the music goes along well with it. It's just unfortunate that there's not a lot of gameplay to do inside this well-presented world! I think it could definitely fit into being one of those relaxing casual puzzle games if it were fleshed out a bit more. But nice work overall.
This was really good! Plays well, looks good, sounds good, and the visible/functional upgrades to the miner are a really fun mechanic of the game. A lot of games just offer essentially statistical upgrades, but yours actually changes the way the miner behaves. You got a lot done, and made a pretty solid title out of a simple concept. Great work.
This is a really clever concept. It took me a moment to catch on, but once I did I kept on playing. I thought the simple black and white graphics were great, and the sounds and music fit perfectly. Great job all around!
Well visually it's great. And I did enjoy roaming and bouncing around, checking out the environment. It's a shame you weren't able to get more gameplay in. But good work nonetheless!
Cool concept for a tower defense game. Great artwork, music and sounds. The workers are designed in a way that would let them have some nice comedic reactions. It'd be fun to see where you take it from here. I can imagine that as it goes onwards that you'd unleash worse and worse things from the ocean trying to stop you from drilling, so you'd need bigger and better weapons to deal with it, as in any good tower defense game. Anyhoo, good job!
I like the concept of this game, and it looks really nice. Other than the controls taking a bit of getting used to, I enjoyed it.
It may have been short, but it was definitely fun while it lasted. I enjoy that Spore aspect of gameplay, of getting larger and being able to consume the things that were once huge to you. The graphics were really nice, and I like how you confined the mole within the circular planet. Gives you a fun sense of scale of how much you grew. I would be interested to see how this concept could evolve. Great job, regardless!
This is a really well-implemented version of a simple concept. I like the ability to upgrade, and it kept me playing for several minutes. Attractive visuals, appropriate lighting, good music, and an overall good job!
The graphics and audio were well done, definitely contributed to setting the theme/mood. The controls work well when traveling through the caves, but they're a bit awkward when trying to do the platforming elements unfortunately. But with some polish it would be interesting to see where you take it. Nice work!
The use of vector style graphics, the sound effects, and the overall gameplay gives it a very nostalgic feel, while all the animations and movements give it that modern spin. Locking the player to the water line is a good mechanic, especially when enemies can drop mines there. Good job overall!
I like the artwork, and the use of the darkness around the gameplay area was a nice touch. I did have some collision issues, but trust me, I had my share for a while too! There was also a bit of a graphics glitch around certain textures, but that most likely just needs a tad bit of padding added to the UV coordinates (I had to do the same). Not everyone will necessarily even see it depending on video card and settings. Overall though it was a fun game, and I was able to finish the level. Good job!
Great graphics, great audio, and a really neat concept. I felt myself being a bit awkward with the controls when trying to navigate to shoot stuff, but other than that, one of the best games I've seen so far.
You made a lot of progress on this, it turned out pretty well. I always like a game like this where you can upgrade as you progress. It's a bit difficult in the sense that the limited thrust can make it hard to get the miner back to the base, but it's probably nothing that a bit more planning ahead of time in regards to where you dig wouldn't solve. Graphics and audio are nice, and the caves being procedurally generated is a plus. Good job overall!
There aren't enough games about moles!
Really nice game, had a good sense of design and progression. I like the upgrade mechanic. Losing all those upgrades definitely makes you want to avoid falling into any holes! Nice graphics, nice audio, and I had fun playing it. Good work!
It's all about making something, and you accomplished that despite losing some time. I like the graphics, and it looks like you could take the game somewhere. Good effort nonetheless.
This was fun. It's good that your idea evolved because you ended up with something a bit unique; like a puzzle and action game combined. Little things like getting stuck in the seaweed was a nice touch, it gets you worried that you won't get out in time. Took me a few tries, but I finished it. Good work!
Excellent game! The graphics are great, the physics and voxels give it a very polished feel, the music and sounds work perfectly, etc. But most importantly, it was fun! The growth and weapon upgrade mechanic really keeps you wanting to play to see what comes next. I also enjoyed the aspect of shooting out blocks behind you to fly. Not to mention it was a pretty good shooter on top of that stuff, with a nice progression of difficulty. It was a very solid game, you did amazing work in the time limit. Have a bunch of high marks, good sir.
Nice job on the lighting. The shadow mapping in particular worked perfectly, which I've noticed other games have had some minor trouble implementing. Nice soundtrack to help set the mood, too.
Really nice! Bugs aside, I enjoyed just swimming around, seeing how far I could get. I like the graphics, and the music was good for setting the mood. I could see this game getting some polish and being pretty good. Nice work!
I like these kinds of games, but similar to others of its type, they can be hard to control. I think with some tuning you could make it play pretty well. There's definitely potential, especially since I don't believe there's a cooking game like this yet. I could see a lot of people making entertaining Let's Plays, much as they have with Surgeon Simulator and the like. Not on theme, but nice work nonetheless.
This was a fun one. Felt like it had a good progression, and the difficulty was primarily a result of doing badly or being impatient rather than just being impossibly hard like some can be. Good work!
I've seen several games involving drill machines, but this is the first submarine one. I definitely like the combination, especially with the style of graphics and good audio backing it up. You made a lot of progress, but like someone else said, with a bit of polish this could be pretty cool. Good work!
The graphics are excellent, and the sound effects work well for the style. I like the use of lighting to set the atmosphere. Things like hanging on ledges was also a nice touch. But like someone else mentioned, I had trouble with a bat knocking me into the ground right off the bat (pun intended!), although that's the only place that it seemed to happen. I also kinda wish you could attack while moving, as that might help alleviate some of the difficulty. But all in all, a very good game. Great work!
Beautiful graphics, really cute concept. I could see this game getting developed further into something bigger.
Normally these kinds of games are played with a keyboard, so I enjoyed playing one with a mouse for a change. Being able to pan ahead makes it handy to see where the crystals are. And jumping out to get the people is always fun!
I ended up enjoying it a lot more than I initially expected. Good job!
I saw some people saying that the game ran too slowly for them, but in Chrome for me it was the opposite; it ran too fast! Sounds like just a timing issue rather than a performance one. Looking beyond that, though, it looks like it would be a fun game. The wall grabbing and digging and everything seemed like it would have worked well. And the graphics are certainly nice. It runs a bit too quickly for me to play but I can definitely see that it's something to look back at once that's worked out. Nice job!
I really like the diving mechanic. Like others have said, it plays smooth. Good job!
The physics of the balloon are nice and floaty; I enjoy the idea of sailing through the clouds with something like that. I also like the concept of people living above the clouds, seeing things oppositely than us. It'd be interesting to see where you could take the theme and story.
This was really good. Physics-based games are usually fun, and the graphics and lighting went a long way to making yours more impressive. There isn't a lot to do, but I still played for a few minutes, which is a sign of a good game. I'd like to see other gameplay elements added to this one. Good job!
Great job on the presentation. The opening sequence tells you everything you need to know, presented in an exciting fashion. The artwork, sounds, and music just all go well together. I did have an issue with trying to get back out of a hole, and I don't know if wall-jumping was intentional or just a collision detection artifact, but I was able to use that successfully sometimes to escape. With some polish you could definitely take this game further. Great job!
Really nice to be such a simple game. It feels solid, has great visuals, appropriate sounds/music, and offers a fun little gameplay mechanic. Good job.
This was a great concept! I really like the idea that you don't actually have control of the character, but of the internal battle of decision-making. The one downside is that it ends up being short since you have to script everything, but you still got a lot done in the time limit. Good visuals, good audio, and an overall fun little game. Good job!
It's a fun little game, but like someone mentioned, it's not very forgiving! I do like the graphical style though, and the sound effects go with the pixel art theme. I also like the use of interacting with the environment to kill baddies. Good work overall!
I really like the mechanic of having to go underground to avoid the guards. It lets you employ a bit of strategy in avoiding them!
I really liked the look of this game. The graphics and lighting were well done. Exploding into voxels when you die was also pretty neat. I could see this getting developed into a pretty fun puzzle/platformer. Nice job!
This is really excellent. It's an old concept which you've managed to make fun all over again. It's the kind of game that can be unforgiving, but it's made well enough that you realize it's just you that sucks at it, so you keep on trying. I still haven't landed it, but you better believe I'll be going back to do so! Great graphics, great audio. Great job overall. One of my favorite.
There's not a lot of multiplayer games here, so you definitely get credit for that. You may have been short on time but you still made pretty good progress, and you apparently learned some things along the way. That's what the competition is all about! Nice going.
There's a lot of games on here, but not necessarily a lot that keep you interested in playing for very long. I enjoyed progressing the several levels before finally getting clobbered. The music also went well with it. The gun fires a bit slowly, but since you implemented the upgrades mechanic then that wouldn't be an issue. That upgrade aspect would definitely keep people playing, to see what they could unlock next I also kind of wish jump was on spacebar, but that's probably more of a personal thing. It definitely has potential from here. Good work!
The graphics are great, excellent use of shadow mapping. It has a definite Hotline Miami feel, with a better visual style in my opinion. Just a shame there's not more of it to play! But you've got a good start to take it further. Good work.
Really inventive use of the theme, and a gameplay mechanic I don't believe I've seen before. Great graphics and animation, too. I think this has a lot of potential. Good work!
Really nice concept. Not many games you see with a mole as the protagonist! Great artwork though, and the shadows are very atmospheric, fitting for the character you play. Would be interesting to see how you develop it from here. Now if only moles had longer arms!
I did have a visual issue with the game though, unfortunately. Looks like a case of "shadow acne" as I've heard it referred to, where the shadow mapping results in lots of lines.
The title and theme of the game made me laugh out loud. The way the snakes bounce off of one another makes for some real challenge, preventing you from just remembering or waiting for patterns like most other games. Plus, it's a chipmunk, and how many games feature one of those. Nice job.
Really nice graphics, and a neat concept for puzzle kind of game. As others have said, there may be a collision issue here and there, but it would be interesting to see where you could take the idea. Nice job.
@BoneDaddy It could mean that you don't have Java installed on your system. Even the EXE version of the game will need it. I hope that's all it is, at least!
And I really appreciate everyone's positive and constructive comments! It's definitely made my first LD experience feel worthwhile.
Really nice animation and artwork on the main character. It's a cool concept, too. It has a Flappy Bird appeal, in that it's fairly unforgiving but also keeps you wanting to play to break your high score. Nice job.
This was a really nice puzzle game. I like the concept of being in perpetual motion and deflecting off of surfaces. The graphics, sound, and music were all perfectly good. The difficulty ramps up significantly after the first couple stages or so, though! But overall it's a fun game. Good work!
The graphics are gorgeous, and I really like the destructible terrain. Nice work!
The presentation here is terrific. The graphics worked well for what you were trying to accomplish, and the music was perfect for setting the mood. I just wish that there had actually been more to do with it! But good work, nonetheless.
I really like the modeling on the vehicles. I think you could develop this into a pretty addicting shooter. Nice job.
Great game. You've come up with some neat mechanics, which go along well with the visuals and gameplay. I also enjoy the sense of humor. I've never been a prouder owner of a vintage coat hanger.
This game has a lot of potential. I really enjoy the combined concept of digging and tower defense. And the graphics are just gorgeous. With some sounds/music, and a bit more fleshing out of the gameplay, I think you could really be onto something. Great work!
This is pretty nice. You did a great job on the graphics and particles. The audio worked out well too. I did get some stutter out of the sound at times, but it's nothing that affected gameplay. It's also kind of a small window by default, which made it hard to fully see your nice artwork, but luckily that's easy to resize since it's HTML5. Nice work overall!
I really like the feel of this one. And it looks great. I'd love to see this game fleshed out a bit more. Good work!
I like the combination of being a shooter and dealing with underwater tasks at the same time. Like others have said, it has a good nostalgic feel to it, especially with the music and sounds. Despite the nostalgia, the controls are perfectly modern, very smooth, and the physics of the bucket and everything is a nice touch. Good job all around.
I really like the mechanic of pre-determining the route to take. The possibility of rocks falling was unexpected but definitely adds to the thought behind solving a map. This was really nostalgic of the kind of computer games we used to play in school. I could definitely see something like this being used to teach kids logic, while still being fun for adults. Nice work!
To be such a simple concept you managed to make a pretty fun game out of it. It kept me playing for a few minutes, which is always a good sign! I like the style of graphics, and the music sets the mood well. Good job overall!
I've rated a lot of games, but this one is absolutely brilliant and probably my favorite so far. It seemed like it would just be a cutesy game about a dog, but it ends up being so much more than that, telling a story that the dog could never understand but that the player certainly would. If the controls were refined a bit, it got some audio, and a proper ending (at least, I assume there's not actually a win condition other than getting the bone?), then it would be perfect. Excellent job!
This is a pretty nice game. I really like the graphics, and the mechanic of upgrading your miner would keep you wanting to play for a while. It's like a little bit of Moon Patrol and Minecraft mixed together. One of my favorites. I just wish you could skip all the intro text!
I liked it. The concept of going underground to avoid obstacles is fun, and having to get the gems to recharge that makes you think before wasting it. Graphics were definitely good, and the music helps with the mood. I think you could still flesh it out into a pretty good game. Nice job.
Trust me, I wasted time trying to deal with my own share of Java applet problems, so I know the feeling. I finally cut my losses and decided I would just pack it up as a download when the time came. I probably should have experimented with that BEFORE the competition, but I didn't even realize I was going to do it until the last minute! Anyhow, what you've got here turned out well, the artwork is good and the animations are smooth. It's just unfortunate that you couldn't get any gameplay elements added. Nice work nonetheless!
Some great artwork went into this. The dash mechanic could certainly make for some interesting puzzles compared to simply jumping. Nice audio, too. Good job overall!
