Awesome art!
I love the graphics. Interesting level mechanics too.
Ah, I found your game! I think it's really well-designed in a deliciously simple way! Nicely done!
Pretty fun Zelda-like gameplay. The creature's pretty creepy, thanks to the sound! :)
Nice, interesting mechanics and really fun to play through!
Nicely designed enemy mechanics. The enemy models are really good-looking too!
Fun and challenging!
Simple and quite fun!
I've got to give bonus points for the title, haha!
This game is really marvellous! I really love the graphics, colour palette, character & enemy designs, animations, sound effects, mood and digging game mechanic. Great job pulling this together in 48 hours! It's incredible!
I'd say the only two weak points of this game are that the digging is a bit inaccurate and the enemies are ridiculous; enemies' movement is unpredictable and every enemy is really hard to kill without dying.
I really love the effort put into all the mermaid's animations! They're smooth, cartoony and really appealing. I love the sparkly pose she does as she flies out of the water. :)
It reminds me a lot of Half-Life 1!
The tension is excellent.
@ZeppelinCaptain: Ah, I thought the red asterisks beside the 'Web' field meant I had to have one link there minimum. I see that's not the case as I've edited the page so now the .zip is linked from 'Windows', appropriately. Thanks for pointing that out!
Everyone else, thank you so much for your kind words and your critique! I agree that my conveyance could have been a lot better but some things were cut short due to time. I intend to write a post about my LD29 experience this weekend and more about the meaning of my game and stuff just to clear up any confusion. As the game is, the story's kind of half there.
I'll link to the post of my experience here for people when I write it. :)
The game design is great and it's pretty enjoyable. The art is also good because the visuals are simple and things are colour-coded for easy object recognition. Sometimes the cat will grab the wrong item though which can't be dropped easily sometimes when there are stacks forming everywhere and that's a bit frustrating.
The sounds communicate information really well in this game. It's also really cool and fun! Great job!
This game looks gorgeous and plays really well with lots of replay value with the shop. Awesome job! :D
I just love the humour in the whole idea of this game. Perfect!
Nice, fun and really simple in design and simple to start playing and get the hang of.
Graphics are fit for purpose but it's hard to tell what some things are and what they do without watching your stats.
I really like the mood. The first time someone removed me from their friends list was quite a shock just as it would be in real life. It's quite moving!
I read your submission notes too and I must say I also really like the premise of your game. It's a depressing but yet natural event we all recurringly go through.
The dialogue is rather lacking after you talk to about 5 people though. Just as a thought - a couple other things I think would be good would be to call them up and hear somebody else on the phone explaining to you that your friend has passed away or is in hopsital. I've had people I knew from school who have been murdered and people whose quality of life is just plummeting - even just from young ages and its really hard-hitting.
But yeah, great idea! :)

Thanks everyone for your comments! :)
I actually worried the puzzles would be too hard! I was really struggling for time as I was learning GML as I made this game so there weren't as many levels as I would have maybe liked to be in the game if I had more time but I made as many levels as I could think up right away. I'm just glad people are getting through the game okay; I didn't want it to be too hard for people. :)
I do intend to develop on this into a complete game with lots more puzzles and a bit more world-based exploring as I really enjoyed this game concept.
...And with a better title.
I played this for way too long, proving that I really enjoyed completing this! :)
I really liked the puzzle-solving gameplay with how you have to work out how to access a new area by switching around from and to specific tiles on the world grid. It was really fun puzzle-solving. Saving the 4 worlds was also a fun end-game task.
The character walking animation was quite good in my opinion and I enjoyed the 4th-wall-breaking humour in all the dialogue. I like the way you did the music instruments as well with how certain instruments blend in and out depending on what worlds you're around.
Great job getting this done in time for the compo!
Obviously beautiful! I particularly loved how well the mood of the music fit in every situation during the gameplay. Well done!
Also, just to let you know, I always score entries very strictly and fairly and this is the first-ever LD game I've rated 5 stars for every category available. :) <3
Hahahaha! The art and the audio are just so brilliant. I loved the surprise gameplay change, especially regarding Junior's expression!
The garage creeps me out though....
(Thanks so much, Mr Torb, for your fanart! <3 <3 <3 <3)

The garage creeps me out a lot though.... I keep thinking something's going to jump out.

I really liked the graphics and audio. I think the cheery song is really good and I liked how it slows down to convey progress. Nice mechanic! I really appreciate the unforeseen rewarding ending too! :)
It may be unfinished but I still think it's a really good entry. They greyness and all the business people all in their fancy suits work really well together for the setting. Scoring you highly on Mood for this! :D
Hint for players who get stuck: After you're served, 'RUN'!
My download fails! :(
Ohhh, I love the personalities and the whole setting and the dark ending! It reminds me a bit of the game 'Eversion'. Great work! <3
So quirky! In particular, I love the vocals in the music so much! :D
Looks and plays great! It's too bad you couldn't finish the rest of the game but it's plain to see how good it was going to look, so great job on getting as far as you did with this entry! :)
I really like the music; it goes with the 'Cookie Clicker' kind of gameplay pretty well in my opinion! I also quite like the humour. :D
Ohhh, this is actually really fun! :D It's rather scary too; just opening the door to leave yourself vulnerable as the swarm of yellow cubes - the danger - slowly accellerates towards you. The audio is really funny too.
Well done! <3
I love this game mechanic: It's so simple, yet I found this to be a really, really challenging game.
Great work making the game mechanic have relevance to the following story and humour as well! Few games do it as well as this! :D
The humour as absolutely top-notch, by the way.
I quite like the music. I think you did well giving different playstyles for such a simple game mechanic. The graphics of the level progression is a really excellent touch too! :)
For such a short game I think I enjoyed this more than I should have... The ending was just too good! I love the dramatic zoom with the corpse's deadpan expression!
Just simply INCREDIBLE! I love the design of the game mechanics and I played until until I got to the end (with a pretty rewarding ending)!
I loved the enemy design too! All the different arms you could get were very inventive!
The only thing I didn't like was the inability to quickly restart the game whenever I got stuck!
Nevertheless, I easily score this game as a 5/5! :D Brilliant job!
I managed to murder them all! >:D Just had to be patient! I didn't think that 3rd guy was gonna be so easy so I watched his movements first carefully and that really helped!
It's a nice game and with a good 'psychopathic' atmosphere! The vision cones around the area were definitely a great help to communicate to the player how the campers' awareness functioned so I think that was a great thing to include! ❤
Thanks so much everybody for your comments, feedback and criticism! I'm glad you enjoyed my music and my art!
I'm really sorry about the collision problems too! In retrospect, I don't think I really focused on the programming side of it as much as I should have done. I put in the collision/chasing coding and thought 'Eehh.... It functions, I suppose!' It seems like the collision results in freezes a lot more often than I anticipated it would too, which isn't great!
I really really love the mood in this game! It's so eerie.... The colour usage, the textures, the environment and the music all go together to create this excellent, twisted mood! I like the 'storytelling' effect the room gives as well! Although nothing happens beyond shooting, the shooting effect (audio & visuals) itself is really great; its so dramatic and a bit scary too (I was a bit anxious during my first shot anyway)! Fantastic presentation of this concept!
Oooohh! Great game! I really enjoyed the narration! Even though it wasn't super-professionally done, it was great that you still put your all into the voice acting and the story because the enthusiasm shows and it just works so well!
The first time I was investigating, I didn't know how the game mechanics worked so when I clicked 'Leave Scene' i was suddenly to convict somebody and I was like 'Oh, I didn't expect this so suddenly! I don't remember anybody's names!' so I had to just skip a day, jailing nobody! To prevent confusion, either a tutorial kind of thing would be good or even just simply a 'back to scene' button would have sufficed!
On level 3 I saw the direction it seemed to be going in and only then I remembered the theme and felt like I knew how it was going to end! I spoke to the witness at the end and her voice level raising in my face made me feel quite tense, like someone was actually suddenly yelling in my face with all her heart and with absolute certainty that I was a murderer! Pulling the player out of the level so suddenly as her dialogue ended was a really nice effect and a good twist on the game mechanics. I thought that was done really well!
Overall, the game was really engaging and enjoyable! I really enjoyed the audio too! Well done, everybody!
Really lovely and fun! The audio was funny and I just simply enjoyed being able to destroy everything! I particularly loved how the buildings were all made up of cubes! I was a bit saddened by the fact that there is a timer though (I would have loved a 'survival' mode just to see how long I could last)!
It is a really fun game though! Well done!
This game made me laugh so much and, at times, so loudly! I really liked the music and how it was continuous throughout the different scenarios; it made the whole game seem so much more chaotic (for lack of a different word)!
The only issue I had with the game was that, when choosing what to say, it was hard to tell who I was speaking for. It took me a few scenarios to realize that the protagonist's portrait was speaking as the speech-controlled person in each scenario.
But yeah, I really had fun with this game! Even when without graphics, the scenarios were quick to understand and the game mechanics were very simple to get a hang of. I loved the writing so much and the fish obsession was just so funny and you handled that concept so excellently! Great job!
(Also, the name is, indeed, amazing!)
The graphics are soooo good! The game mechanic is very cute, and has a good balance between 'Should I go faster and rougher' or 'Should I go slower and more precise?'
Pretty fun! :D Well done, guys! ❤
Woooow! Such a fun game, with a great game mechanic! I feel like replaying this just to try out other ship combinations and find new techniques!
For critique, I feel like the game was a bit too easy for my tastes, and the art was a little too bland (grey everywhere), although I only noticed this in retrospect!
But yeah: Great art, great audio, and great presentation overall! Rating this highly! ❤
The game thumbnail absolutely had my attention. After playing the game, I wasn't disappointed: This is a really really funny game! Just the whole concept itself is just so silly; I love it!
The gameplay definitely takes a bit of getting used to first; it's not easy to keep your eye on all 4 of the tubes starting out!
The music was nice and, personally, I'm a sucker for rhythm games, so I quite enjoyed the level provided! I feel like it got too complicated too quickly though. You need to make sure that you give the player enough time to practise the game mechanics so they can be sure they know what they're doing! When the difficulty began to ramp up I was still in that stage where I was thinking "I'm pushing the buttons... am I doing this right?"
But anyway, yeah, really good presenation overall on the game! Nice graphics, audio, and gameplay! Very fun! Going to rate this highly! Well done!
Also, my highscore was 150! Not sure how good that is though! :P
Super cute game!!!! Really nicely polished! You did a great job getting all this together!
Also, the voices are so on-point! ❤
