What the hell, this is super fun! Getting more powers is awesome!

zatyka 2014-04-29 01:37

I really enjoyed the game. Graphics, music, effects, controls, and the other gameplay elements really fit together for a great experience. I liked that there wasn't a lot of hand-holding, and I had to figure out how to proceed on my own. Later "forms" really felt powerful and beating the shrine really gave a sense of accomplishment.

My only major complaint is the text was often-times away from the action, and the first time I played through, I often missed what was said.

You're games usually have some eastereggs, or alternate endings, but I didn't see any in this one. Did I miss any? I'll probably play through again later just to be sure.

Overall, really nice job. Keep up the good work. I always look forward to playing your LD games.

rowdyghosts 2014-04-29 02:06

Awesome work! Expending pellets as a mechanic is cool, and I like that the pellet type persists.

bugninja 2014-04-29 04:42

Really clever and unique, great use of the theme. Found it a little hard to figure out what I was trying to accomplish.

xrxr 2014-04-29 04:44

Wow! really polished! The physics on the boxes are really great

agdg_reject 2014-04-29 04:45

very clever and pretty fun

pvwradtke 2014-04-29 04:46

Very cool entry, the mechanics to manipulate the blocks and attract them towards the player is really well implemented. Congratulation, from the comments, its worth taking a look on your other games as well.

tyruspeace 2014-04-29 04:46

Wow, that's a great gameplay concept! It really works well; I love how your powers expend the fragments, too. It helps convey their worth/power in a way that the bar and z wouldn't have gotten across. I also found picking up all of the fragments after dropping them pretty hilarious.

biscuitdough 2014-04-29 04:48

great tiny self contained experience. Had a real wow moment when the big enemy started to move. Rare to see ludum dare games with a beginning middle and an end

ditto 2014-04-29 04:49

Holy damn, that's awesome! I can't really find the theme at all(?) but gameplay is freaking amazing! Love the final upgrade, feels really powerful!

fyberoptic 2014-04-29 04:50

Excellent game! The graphics are great, the physics and voxels give it a very polished feel, the music and sounds work perfectly, etc. But most importantly, it was fun! The growth and weapon upgrade mechanic really keeps you wanting to play to see what comes next. I also enjoyed the aspect of shooting out blocks behind you to fly. Not to mention it was a pretty good shooter on top of that stuff, with a nice progression of difficulty. It was a very solid game, you did amazing work in the time limit. Have a bunch of high marks, good sir.

liens 2014-04-29 04:51

That was really solid. I enjoyed it, although losing all your fragments in 1 hit was a bit harsh

buriteam 2014-04-29 04:52

This was impressive. The mechanics alone were awesome! And then you throw at us that sweet giant enormous boss! Cool music and clean graphics. You should be proud.

kmakai 2014-04-29 04:54

Great job, awesome use of particles, and I was very pleased to see that they stay around after you lose them rather than blinking out of existence. Definitely one of my favorites so far!

landosystems 2014-04-29 04:54

You take this game, and you develop it. I would love to see more of this game. The penalty for getting hit once is a bit harsh (maybe you only lose half of your resources), but even with that frustration this is one addicting game.

Oh, and the subtle shift in music with the addition of more power was a great touch. Thanks for sharing this one.

friken 2014-04-29 04:54

This is good. I like this quite a bit.

hburd 2014-04-29 04:56

Wow, definitely the best game I've seen so far

Magnus 2014-04-29 05:01

Very nice and original mechanic - seriously refreshing :)

illugion 2014-04-29 05:02

That was incredibly fun ! Reminds me of knack even tho i never played it haha really cool to evolve the character and the powers, nice job

graf_grun 2014-04-29 05:14

Fantastic.

lissar 2014-04-29 05:19

I quite liked this game! The gameplay was quite unique, it controlled well and was just fun to play. The visual style was also cute!

bunn1e5 2014-04-29 06:57

Just one word: "AWESOME!"

landosystems 2014-04-29 14:31

Can you please update the source link? Looks like both the web and source lead to the game. Thanks!

zillix 2014-04-29 15:31

@LandoSystems: Oops, thanks for the heads up! Updated the source link.

I appreciate all of the wonderful comments :D

FYI, there's only 1 ending and only a few small easter eggs (check out the top corners), but more are coming in a post-compo version!

muhmarigo 2014-04-29 22:00

Just one word: "AWESOME!"²
REALLY FUN!

the-nameless-kompany 2014-04-29 22:04

I liked. It's so funny to attract the boxes, and the music very good

gfm 2014-04-30 01:19

This was really fun!!
I enjoyed growing in power as I destroyed the enemy, and it felt fair that I lost mobility when more powerful. The boss battle was really well made! Every part was fun and different.

Great job!

yo_milo 2014-04-30 05:50

BEST GAME EVER!! FULL 5 STAR!!!

I cannot think of anything that would make this game better.

halbernacht 2014-04-30 06:20

This is amazing fun. I could see this turned into a full fledged game easily.

pierrec 2014-04-30 11:24

I didn't get I could absorb the fragment at first. And you can actually go pretty far without knowing it. (until it retreats in the core). Il fact you can jump really high by hitting the wall continuously. It might be something you want to fix. This aside, this game is great. I felt I was in Gurren Lagann or something.

tomvert 2014-04-30 11:52

I was lost very quickly and didn't know what to do after the game said something about breaking the shrines, I broke everything and notihng happened... Too bad it seemed interesting judging the screenshot.

crocantidepollo 2014-04-30 12:58

This is brilliant!

bebopbraunbaer 2014-04-30 20:59

THE POWER IS MINE! what a game, much power so wow! i am really impressed and i had a blast playing it. this was awesome and i hope you will continue to make such games!

frozencow 2014-04-30 23:44

God, that was an awesome experience. I really love how you combined music and visuals to show the progression. Slurping up the boxes was great too and (basically) a tutorial with a long boss-fight was a nice way to get the most bang (game) for your buck (time) in 48h.
One of the best I've seen yet.

theholychicken 2014-05-01 01:22

So original and fun! I haven't been this excited since the NES days, where everything had been new and awesome.
I wouldn't mind playing this all day if it were longer.
Definitely my favorite entry so far!

ltyrosine 2014-05-01 01:37

I'v been playing it for the last 20 minutes and I have to say that was fun.
What amazing game here and nice soundtrack as bonus.

sestren 2014-05-01 01:43

Although a bit short, that was a lot of fun to play. Loved the sound and the look of it, as well.

asotelo94 2014-05-01 01:47

Darn, so lag!I enjoyed the most of the little I could play; after the 3rd transformation I just couldn't play anymore.

valid4life 2014-05-01 03:53

This was a great game! I really enjoyed the whole thing!

elforama 2014-05-01 03:59

Had a really fun time playing this. Great job!

greg-power 2014-05-01 04:23

This is a perfect little package. Cool core idea of absorbing/spending your power. I also liked how the boss was a level in itself. It was a little frustrating entering the first boss part and zonked with a bullet straight away, but otherwise, pretty much flawless.

drnick 2014-05-01 04:43

Very creative usage of physics engine! You have accomplished well the goals you set to achieve this LD. The boss battle is the best I have seen in a LD game. Quite epic. Reminds me of Shadow of Colossus.

zephyr 2014-05-01 05:13

Wow. Masterfully done. The most well executed entry I've seen by far. Just looking at something like this reminds me of how far I have to go. Bravo sir!

primitiveconcept 2014-05-01 05:15

Wow, that was awesome! Loved everything about it, keep up the good work!

catman 2014-05-01 08:32

A really good entry. Attacking the blocks and amassing them is quite satisfying in itself, and the boss battle adds to it. Great job!

arcturusdeluxe 2014-05-01 14:17

Great game! Love the mechanics. I appreciate how the music grows as you get more powerful. Really cool.

detective-pixel 2014-05-01 18:32

Incredible! It was very fun to play. One of the best games I have played in the jam!

soupwithbits 2014-05-01 18:54

Freaking awesome!

marsbar 2014-05-03 05:13

This game is awesome, however in my opinion it had nothing to do with the theme. That being said, this was very fun to play, the controls were fantastic and the gameplay was easy to pick up, it offered a fair amount of challenge and the progression was perfection XD

anoarith 2014-05-03 16:33

Awesome mechanic, congratulations this is a really nice game :) !

rico-albe 2014-05-04 22:30

I didn't quite get where to go sometimes, but the spending/earning powers was a fun mechanic.

javadocmd 2014-05-06 23:49

I love the concept! Gaining powers, fighting the boss stage by stage, all fantastic. The little tutorial stage did a good job of introducing some really new game concepts. I would have hoped for a little higher jumping power, and maybe a wider field of vision would have helped defeating turrets that are very difficult to fight up close. The speed at which you re-acquire fragments after getting hit feels really slow, though. This means you can spend a lot more time recovering from getting hit than actually playing in certain portions. Perhaps as you attain higher levels, the speed at which you gain fragments could be increased and stay increased even if you get hit. I also would have liked to see more of a discovery/story behind what it really means to invade this world and start stripping it of its fragments, and who this is you're attacking, but it felt like maybe you were leading in that direction and just didn't have the time to pull it off. In any case, this was really fun and I'd love to see a full version.

wertle 2014-05-07 04:16

I love this mechanic! It is so different and yet it is very simple to understand what's going on with your feedback. I also like how it inherently controls progression. It was very clever how everything in the world was a square except the enemy projectiles, nice job on that :) REally well done!

striwx 2014-05-14 13:09

Very cool concept and fun !!!

dustoutgames 2014-05-15 04:11

Wow that was cool. The player's evolution of power and play mechanics as you collect fragments is really interesting, and the subtle bit of story that's there gives the game a good sense of intrigue and discovery as you play. Played more than once. Would play again. Very well done!

zebi24 2014-05-17 20:26

Really good, one of the best I've played in this LD! :)

badpaul34 2014-05-17 20:39

Excellent concept game, graphics and audio! Minimalist, clever and super fun. Great ^^

quantumpotato 2014-05-17 21:04

FIVE STARS

teesquared 2014-05-18 00:17

Very innovative game and it keeps you playing.

depp 2014-05-18 08:40

Fun, I managed to beat it! I like that I didn't get sent back too far when I got hurt.

elefantopia 2014-05-18 09:11

The potential of this game mechanic are very interesting and there are many surprises but I feel this game isn't exploring them enough.

jimanzium 2014-05-18 10:20

Well that was fun

sk16games 2014-05-19 21:06

One of the best games so far :) very original gameplay :D
