LD29 — Beneath the Surface

Generic Adventure Game by Jezzamon 2014-04-28T06:42:00

Game slows waaaaaaay down for me when I enter dream mode. Which is a shame because this game is gorgeous and I want to play all of it.

Generic Adventure Game by Jezzamon 2014-04-28T16:46:00

Tried again with the less intense web version and everything ran great :] One of the best entries I've seen so far. Charming, beautiful, challenging and really fun!

ScubaBear by _Rilem 2014-04-29T01:40:00

Yes am bear, but always wondered: "Why am bear? Is there more than bear?". No longer! Am bear for scuba! Am bear for good game! Am more than bear. Am ScubaBear!

Doomsday Bunker by ZYXer 2014-05-01T00:58:00

This was great. There's an almost dwarf-fortress level sense of impending doom the whole time you're playing, it's balanced just so to make it seem like you have a chance. Fun play. Good entry.

The Valley Rule by Raiyumi 2014-05-02T00:39:00

Apart from being beautiful and sounding great, this game does a great job of building on itself as it plays. The pacing and learning curve are both well implemented, the puzzles are great. Really nice game!

Jetpack Caverns by Mental Atrophy 2014-05-01T14:19:00

Fun game. And hard! The physics of the jetpack feel just right, and destructible terrain is always a nice touch. It really adds an extra level of depth to a shooter like this.

A Glorious Escape for A Lich King by Benjamin 2014-04-29T18:59:00

I love when tower defense games add resource management that's more than just "Kill all the things to get more things". Good use of theme, and it's just really fun!

DEEPER by _adamturnbull 2014-05-01T00:46:00

I think the slow pace really adds a lot to the tension and mood of the game. Yes, it can get a little bit frustrating if you're in a hurry to get to the end, but the atmosphere was so gripping I didn't feel like I needed to rush.

Dig Hard by petey123567 2014-04-29T01:47:00

So good. 5/5

Ripple Runner by DDRKirby(ISQ) 2014-04-28T04:52:00

This is. . . This is so good. Can we have more?

Threading by fakeyou 2014-05-03T19:11:00

This is a tough puzzler. Very well done. Really good incorporation of the theme, and fun to keep playing.

Please Come Back by PapyPilgrim 2014-05-07T04:20:00

You really blew it out of the water in theme and mood. I didn't really find this "fun" in a typical game sense, but it was a very impactful experience, and I'm glad I played it. The frantic mouse wheel scrolling and clicking really makes you feel the desperation of the player character's situation.

SUNK by GeorgeBroussard 2014-05-02T00:57:00

Wow, this is a great example of getting as much as possible out of a simple concept. It's impressive how much depth (haha) is here for just using one button.

Meddle by Pitʶik4 2014-04-29T03:26:00

This was pretty cool. I think it would help anyone having a hard time to mention that once you inspect an enemy, you can then move away while you look through commands. It was kind of tough to figure out, but once you get it, the command swapping mechanic was really interesting. Good entry.

The Show Must Go On by Sestren 2014-05-05T03:15:00

This is funny. Like I laughed out loud reading the directions. I love your idea, and the graphics work well with it. I do think the controls could use a little tweaking, but overall, quite well done.

Refuge by MunkeeBacon 2014-04-28T05:06:00

Well done. It's pretty, and it's fun.

Project Tethys by vilya 2014-05-13T04:59:00

Well made game. The controls were smooth and responsive. The graphics looked good, and the sound and music was great. I found it a little too easy to just stay direction above the base and strafe up and down, but when I made myself actively hunt the enemies, I had a lot more fun. Good job!

Alamogordo by csanyk 2014-04-29T03:49:00

Oh man, so many points for that E.T. The functionality and use of theme are very impressive considering how quickly you put this together. I did find the "move all the way to the right to win" mechanic a little difficult to grasp though. Was that an E.T. game reference? (I haven't actually played the worst video game ever made)

It Came from Beneath the Surface: Wormgun by BoneDaddy 2014-05-03T21:28:00

This strangely reminded me of ecco the dolphin. The controls really felt like how I remember it was jumping out of the water. This is a good thing. This game plays very smoothly, and it's very challenging for how simple the core mechanic is. Well done!

Helevenium by alvivar 2014-05-10T02:45:00

Incredibly difficult, but the kind of difficulty that hooks you and won't let go.

The Drowning Man by stoo 2014-05-02T13:04:00

Well done. It's simple, and easy to pick up, but fun to keep playing as well.

Oh My Oilrig! by manabreak 2014-04-28T05:23:00

The way I constantly had to keep rebuilding towers was an interesting spin on the tower defense formula. Fun game!

Switcher by ehtd 2014-04-30T04:39:00

Damn those rocks! Good game. It hooks you and makes you want to give it one more go.

It Came From The Sewer by Catman 2014-05-03T21:59:00

This made the little sociopath in my so happy. Solid pipe puzzler with charming graphics and fitting sound. Good job.

The Mine by Almost 2014-04-28T17:14:00

This is very interesting in concept, and well executed. I like how you managed to take a fairly complex system and boil it down to a few clicks.

Carnival Warfare by pinkmonkeyhead 2014-05-08T18:58:00

This was a lot of fun, and the graphics and sound were really top-notch. I had some minor text issues (text outside screen even with my monitor's resolution selected), but nothing that was more than a tiny distraction to an otherwise charming and fun game.

Beneath the surface by devince 2014-04-30T04:37:00

Very strong use of theme, having to figure out everyone's loyalties/intentions beneath the surface. You really get a sense of time and urgency from seeing the planet get closer with each click, and it made me really stop to think about what to say.

Asteroid(s) by jonsul 2014-05-01T04:29:00

Very arcadey. I feel like I should be playing this on a cabinet in a dark room smelling of pizza and quarters. Nicely done. The ship looks cool, and the geometric-looking asteroids keep the screen looking interesting.

Treasure Orgy by NukeTheBunnys 2014-04-28T04:41:00

I honestly have no idea what I just did, but whatever it was, I loved it.

fall by starpixie 2014-05-01T05:25:00

You had me at "parachute" and you completed me with "grappling hook".

A boy and his Hellworm by orangepascal 2014-04-28T06:50:00

Oh orangepascal, you always deliver!

Wolfy Blast by Logan 2014-05-03T21:38:00

I found the audio pretty grating, but the UI was really nice, and platform shooters like comfort food to me, so I had a good time.

Heaving of the Depths by Christina Antoinette Neofotistou 2014-05-16T00:27:00

Fun game with a good story! Kept me interested the whole way! Good job!

0x1D by bitnenfer 2014-04-30T05:31:00

I'm seeing this idea of altering object components come up more frequently recently, and I'm in favor. This is a cool idea, and 0x1D does it very well.

Down by SonnyBone 2014-04-29T06:08:00

Interesting little experience. It's moody, and a little depressing. The graphics very well done, but it seemed like the sound was a little unpolished. Not the music though. Music was very well done.

Escape from the depths! The ascension of the almighty one! by randoman 2014-04-30T05:11:00

Simple, but well executed. I think it would have been nice if the camera would recognize when you're getting ahead and speed up a bit to keep up with you.

Watch Your Step by nka 2014-04-28T04:36:00

I love well executed minimalism, and this game is the perfect example. Every individual piece is simple and well crafted, and they all come together to create an experience that is very engaging.

Wormhunter by Thorig 2014-05-02T04:26:00

Worm only showed up once in four plays, BUT killing the worm was a blast! I'd love to see a full release of this. Good job.

Under the Ice by Dohan 2014-05-03T22:11:00

Cute. The graphics are good, and the music is really nice. A little pathfinding in the walking code would have been nice, but it worked okay without. I found the ending hilarious for some reason. Good work.

Friend of the Fisherman by rubna 2014-05-01T02:18:00

This game made me so happy. I played atari games as a kid. These graphics. These sounds. They made me happy inside. The controls are good, the game looks great, and it's a lot of fun. I'd like to see this developed more post LD. So much potential!

Cave Survival by CryoGenesis 2014-04-28T07:00:00

This was extremely well done. The sound design especially. I wish there was more to it than those freakin' bats.

Fellow Mole versus Raccoons Thieves by ramoncb 2014-05-03T21:35:00

Cute game. I like the look you were going for, and the mole and raccoon models are pretty good. I feel like this was a little too ambitious though. It feels like it needs more polish and balancing. The controls feel a little muddy, and the camera was a bit annoying. However, it was fairly challenging, and the level layout was interesting.

Kitsuni by SecondDimension 2014-04-29T02:43:00

This was beautiful. Excellent use of the theme in a literal and metaphorical sense, and foxes are neat!

Deep Sea by admung 2014-05-02T04:46:00

It's very pretty, and the sound is great. It felt like it was over too quick, but what was there was really nicely done.

Escape From Guardian (Fixed link!) by Pheonise 2014-05-03T00:02:00

This game terrified me. The screen shake and the sound effects of the stone beasts made did a great job of creating a sense of paranoia. The camera angle wobble while moving made me a bit dizzy, but it was worth it!

Inside Look Activity Book by rylgh 2014-05-05T05:36:00

Very good use of theme, and extremely innovative/unique. It felt a little janky on pc, but you some things just work better on tablets. Good job, and that was a rad alligator.

Eiradirian Wormfare by blay09 2014-05-03T00:16:00

There's a staggering amount of content in this given the time constraints. That said, I think it would have benefited from scaling back a little bit. All the individual aspects are well done, but it's pretty overwhelming from the start, although the help screen is useful. I'd like to see where this goes if you decide to work on it more.

Go Below by GagaPete 2014-05-02T16:09:00

Good idea. Good use of theme, and great graphical style. That was fun!

Mithril by FalconGames109 2014-05-05T04:23:00

Generally, I think it's safer to have LD games run in windowed mode by default with the option to full screen if you want. Niggling point aside, this wasn't a bad game. The controls were mostly smooth, and you can tell the sprites had some good work put into them.

Insane Grandpa by jahlgren 2014-04-30T04:47:00

Fun little game with tight controls and beautiful pixel art. If you actually get through the whole thing, you see how amazingly well it fits the theme. The ending was a little depressing actually. Excellent use of emotion in game.

FedIt! by zedutchgandalf 2014-04-29T05:23:00

Well done on ramping up the difficulty curve. It really felt well-balanced.

Enderscope's Game by Arakade 2014-05-03T20:50:00

I just jumped into this without reading the description first and will now have nightmares xD Seriously though, this is a really unique idea for a game, and once I tried it again with a little context, I really enjoyed myself. I'd like to see this fully developed eventually. Well done.

Tenkosei ROBO by radmars 2014-05-01T17:20:00

This was incredibly silly in the best ways and I love it!

Wriggle Worm by gikdew 2014-05-01T02:12:00

This was so much fun. It's really refreshing to see pure and simple gameplay done this well. The controls are tight. The graphics are charming, and the action is pretty addictive. The hit sound was a little grating, but don't get hit bro. Non-bleeding ears is the reward for being good! : D Well done.

Gubble Quest by Somfunambulist 2014-04-28T04:13:00

Incredibly charming and well executed. GUI seems to have a bit of a depth issue with one of the table tops. I want a gubble.

UNDER by ENDESGA 2014-04-28T05:42:00

Considering you cut 40 hours off your allotted development time, this is quite impressive. Considering the end result, there isn't really a whole lot there. I liked the bit I got to play though.

Dark Soils by Grieve 2014-04-29T05:33:00

Great atmosphere. Great art. I wish there was a little more to do, but what's there is well done.

Upper Crust by dylanwolf 2014-04-28T03:44:00

Excellent use of theme, and I'm a sucker for a game with unconventional combat.

Damn Sharks by notajetski 2014-04-29T03:38:00

Good game. The mushiness of the controls make your sub actually feel like a big, underwater, missile firin' submarine instead of just a little sprite. Also solidarity points because the final boss in my game is also a shark.

Life story by gmaker 2014-05-03T22:08:00

The goal was made very clear right from the start, and that's a very strong point. I like the pixel art, and the water looks really nice. After the initial goal though, I found myself pretty lost. Jumping around was fun, but I had a difficult time figuring out how to progress. A little more polish and direction would really make this game shine.

Hughes by SnoringFrog 2014-05-05T06:07:00

Hughes was pretty fun. The collisions are a little funky, but it doesn't really affect gameplay that much. Thanks for pointing me to that chrome extension!

The Longest Way Down by fullmontis 2014-04-30T05:06:00

Very well done. Good writing, and beautifully somber mood. I grew up on myst and riven, so this was like a bit of childhood for me. Good job.

Bellhook by Colorvade 2014-04-28T03:55:00

It's beautiful to look at.

Series Of Choices by joe40001 2014-05-12T19:53:00

Good concept. It wasn't quite what I was expecting, but turned out pretty enjoyable.

Mine Story by donan 2014-05-08T19:04:00

Intro scene was very well done, and the graphics were clean, if a little simplistic. The music was great, and really added a lot to the experience. The only thing I really didn't like was the constant reclicking to dig. I think it would have been less frustrating to just be able to hold the button down to drill and having drill speed affect a timer. Overall though, this was very well done.

The Underkeep by DaanVanYperen 2014-04-30T04:30:00

Once I figured out what to do, this turned out to be one of the most unique game mechanics I've seen in a long time. It feels like a tower defense, but kind of plays like tapper. I think a little more clear guidance would be good, but overall, it's a great entry.

Spunk Spelunk by ChuiGum 2014-04-28T17:03:00

Addictive. It's really nailed that "just one more" motivation and keeps you wanting to try again.

Surface Tension by frankbsad 2014-04-30T05:23:00

Oh man, this was great. I love seeing an entry that isn't afraid to be simple. You picked a thing, and you did it really really well. This was so relaxing, I'm keeping it in my "kill some time" folder on my desktop.

Bomb Breacher by Outbreak 2014-04-28T05:47:00

I got the same error, but just running the SWF seemed to work fine for me.

Bomb Breacher by Outbreak 2014-04-28T05:49:00

Gameplay-wise, this is a pretty old formula. That isn't a bad thing though. The mouse controls feel pretty good, and the graphics show a good amount effort. Pretty good entry.

Beneath The Surface Integral by SlamBlasta 2014-04-28T05:39:00

There's a bit of a lack of guidance. I wasn't quite sure what I was meant to be doing, but the graphics are beautiful, and it handles nicely. Good job.

Soulitude by bitserum 2014-05-03T00:36:00

Very nicely done. The use of theme is really strong, the graphics are good, and the sound is really effective. The stark contrast between the two worlds sets a really trippy mood for the game which makes the whole experience that much more interesting.

AHH LAVA! by Dreii 2014-05-06T03:10:00

The randomization was a little frustrating at times, but the randomness of it really adds to the "just one more try" mindset of it. The controls worked pretty well, and the graphics were pretty nice. Good job!

denudation by zillix 2014-05-15T04:11:00

Wow that was cool. The player's evolution of power and play mechanics as you collect fragments is really interesting, and the subtle bit of story that's there gives the game a good sense of intrigue and discovery as you play. Played more than once. Would play again. Very well done!

Nuggets by 0Creds 2014-05-14T03:04:00

Good little match game! Smooth animations and pretty good sounds. I think it could benefit from a more hands-on tutorial. It took me a bit to figure out how to make color fusing actually do anything after reading the instructions, but it all came together eventually. Well done!

Beneath The Memories by StuffBySpencer 2014-04-28T20:58:00

Very atmospheric, with good controls and a very good sense of scale. Solid entry! I like it.

Elder Sub by IndieKylo 2014-04-30T05:27:00

I would be all about a more developed version of this. The fight animations were awesome. so full of life and character. The game felt a little empty, but I can see so much potential for this. Good concept.

30 Days Remain by koe415 2014-05-05T01:55:00

Amazing! This was so good. It looks simple on the surface, but it's challenging, interesting, and intense. I got so far, and then lost on day 30 >< so close. Well done!

Beneath The Lab by Techblogogy 2014-05-07T04:27:00

There's an impressive amount of polish on this game. The puzzles are interesting, and the controls are effective, if a tiny bit oversensitive. I think adding some subtitles would have helped since I had a little trouble understanding the audio at times, but that's a nitpicky point for this sort of thing. Well done!

QP : Fix the leak! by ElStevo 2014-05-06T03:52:00

The swinging mechanic is what saved the gameplay. The graphics are good, and the sound is good other than the damage effect being too loud compared to the music. Music was really nice. The swinging mechanic took a somewhat tired gameplay formula and made it interesting, challenging, and fun. Good job!

SUPER ROBO GARDEN ARENA by nxT 2014-05-05T06:17:00

Fun game! That deadly blast of arrows just feels so satisfying. Your graphics are really nice, too. I'd play more of this if you make an enhanced version later.

Gold Submarine by Slader16 2014-04-28T05:55:00

It's cute, and I found it very relaxing. The slow pacing, and gradual controls make just moving around and exploring feel pretty satisfying.

Damn It, Rabbit ! by okkolobr 2014-05-01T00:51:00

Fun little game. You've made me hate rabbits xD It took me a bit to figure out what I was doing, but this is pretty addictive once you understand how it works. Damn rabbit. . .

Darkness Shines Through by Empyrealhell 2014-04-28T05:34:00

It's a little bit overwhelming at first. I would have liked a little bit more guidance through the game at the start, but once you get into it, it was a fun playthrough.

Kraken by Kate Kligman 2014-05-03T00:54:00

I used to play Seawolf on Atari as a kid. This really brought me back. Well done.

Scuba Sam by Boodog 2014-05-05T04:34:00

I felt like this was a little light on content, but it was cute, and interesting. That piano, man. That piano xD

Kraken's Island by GreenyUk 2014-05-15T03:55:00

98 seconds. Man that was fun! Honestly my only critique would be that the game gets a little bland fairly quickly. I'd really like to see a more developed version of this with difficulty ramping and some more content. This was a legitimately awesome concept though. Very well done!

Volcano Dave by acehk 2014-04-28T03:36:00

I see a lot of potential here. Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but I couldn't seem to get past that first switchback.

Mine Explorer by Joe Williamson 2014-05-06T03:32:00

Very nice pixel art. This game is beautiful. Your sound effects are simple, but effective, and the music was great! I love when a game takes a simple mechanic and really runs with it. You exploited the hell out of "don't get hit by fire" and the result was a good game. You should develop this more.

Pixel Draw by zebi24 2014-05-13T05:05:00

This was very unique, and very fun. It's one of the most unusual, and unexpected ideas I've seen, and I really wasn't expecting it to be so enjoyable when I saw what it was. I was very pleasantly surprised. Well done!

Sail by DrPrettyPatty 2014-05-16T00:10:00

Game was cute and the music was nice. The squid was helpful in moving the game forward, but I wished there was more direction.

Beneath the Surface by FistBumpGames 2014-05-01T19:40:00

Very cool. One of the best looking pixel art entries I've seen, and I love the minimalism of the audio. It really makes the world feel more haunted and dangerous. I feel like the hop-back could have been pushed a little bit farther to make the best use of it, but the combat was fun, and challenging.

Bitmite Blitz by Coin Flip Games 2014-05-01T03:50:00

This is a really nicely made arcade game. When the audio of me playing "CRAP! *restart*" more than 3 times in a row, I call it an addicting success. Lots of fun, and it's impressive to see achievements implemented in a game with such a short development time. Well done!

Beneath your feet by Druid 2014-05-06T03:25:00

Oh man, this was CREEPY! Great atmosphere, tons of tension. This was scary. Well done.

Moletube by johnhackworth 2014-04-29T17:40:00

Great entry. I love resource management/strategy games, and they seem to be a bit of a rarity. The graphics are great, and the concept and mechanics are solid and well executed. It was a little bit laggy in places, but never un-playable for me. Nicely done.

Moon Harvest by sharpcoder 2014-04-28T03:32:00

There's a lot of good things going on for this entry. I did have some issues getting it to load properly, but once I started, I had a good time.

The fight beneath the surface by Caridorc 2014-05-03T00:30:00

I had a good time with this. The voice acting was pretty goofy, but it came off in a fun way, and gave this a lot of character. The controls were clean, and the graphics were simple, but consistent.

Deep Calls To Deep by Romko Pidstryhach 2014-04-30T04:52:00

I found the randomization to be a touch game breaking, as it would very rarely just block your path completely or not put a reachable bubble some place where it's needed, but that's forgivable for how beautiful and atmospheric the game is. Good presentation on a simple, but very functional concept.

The Creature Beneath by Otrora Games 2014-05-05T05:45:00

The music was very good. I was a little frustrated by the eel, but this game was full of interesting puzzles and charming graphics. Solid entry.

IO - Reflection/Puzzler by oranebeast 2014-05-03T20:42:00

This is a really solid puzzle game. The pieces are all useful, and most puzzles seem to have more than one solution which is great for a logic-based game. Graphics look good, and the audio fits well. Good job!

Digable Planet by Oddly Shaped Pixels 2014-05-05T05:51:00

Oh man. I love tower defense, and every time I see a game that's tower defense AND other stuff, I get excited. Digable Planet did not disappoint. The mechanics were well-designed, graphics and sound were nice, and it was just fun!

HYPERHYDROSIS by Craig Smye 2014-04-28T17:20:00

Simple and short, but fun and well designed. Good job.

Hair Spirit Adventure by messthem team 2014-05-06T03:18:00

Cute game. The controls feel like they need a little more refining, and some more audio would be nice, but the graphics are charming, and well done, and the levels are nicely designed.

Beneath Colossal by Liens 2014-04-30T04:24:00

I'm afraid I'm really really bad at this lol. I didn't actually progress very much, but man did I ever have a blast just flailing around and breaking stuff xD

Divernaut by Garris 2014-04-28T06:14:00

Looking into the block sticking thing. Thanks for the heads up.

Divernaut by Garris 2014-04-30T03:53:00

That was part of my "D'oh! Ran out of time!" list. Seaweed drops air bubbles, but there's nothing in game pointing to that.

Atomicle - LostAutumn.net by AutumnGuy 2014-05-03T00:22:00

One of the most unique entries I've seen so far. Clean and simple graphics and sounds make this fun little puzzler just feel right.

tell my story by mjrevel 2014-05-01T04:08:00

I don't really get it. It looks really good though, and the fact that I didn't get it did sort of create a sense of mystery. That combined with the graphics and writing gives it a strong mood. A little confusing to me, but still good!

Bloodbath by Lacaranian 2014-04-28T17:18:00

5 stars in humor for "Heart pounding soundtrack". Congratulations, you have pun.

Captain P by Ryan up in here 2014-05-05T03:01:00

I love that Captain President is wearing a presidential suit. . . and flip-flops.

Siren Song by mark.goetz 2014-05-07T04:56:00

That escalated quickly! I really enjoyed this unique concept for a game. The controls were well done and eating a ship full of sailors was really satisfying xD It did feel like the difficulty ramped up really really fast, but this was really fun.

Frack You by Candyhandy 2014-05-05T04:18:00

This was great! I haven't played a good pipe game in a long time, and the addition of planet spinning and protester satiating was a great feature to add.

Greys by ccglp 2014-05-05T06:01:00

This game felt like it was smarter than me haha. The concept was interesting, and I really liked the greys. I didn't manage to get every last secret, but it was fun. It seemed like there were some little collision issues, but other than that, it was very smooth and well put together.

Beneath The Clouds by Skipi 2014-05-01T04:21:00

Neat idea. I think it needs a little polish to truly shine, but the concept is strong, and it's a very unique game.

Descent by camlang 2014-05-06T03:40:00

This art is gorgeous. The combat was a little bit janky, but it worked, and I had a fun time exploring/getting lost. Obviously time constrains don't allow for the level of polish a game like this deserves, but for the time limit, it's very well done, and I'm excited to see where it goes, post ludum dare.

No Eyes Willy by blockbot 2014-05-05T05:41:00

Heh :] this was fun. And cute. And well made. And silly. And I liked it. I think some goofy music as a soundtrack would have made this even better.

Running Blind by Balloonsfor600 2014-05-01T02:22:00

This was very well done. I'm a little surprised at how few endless runners I've seen so far this LD, and I love a good endless runner. Good job!

In search of an Artist by suurin 2014-04-30T05:20:00

Great music, and interesting graphics. I didn't quite see the need for 2 different movement speeds, but the game was a fun playthrough.

Here's Dirt in Your Eye by BeeintheCarGames 2014-05-18T03:19:00

Very well done. The writing is great, and throwing people in holes and burying their awful, awful faces made my day. Some animations would have been a nice addition, but this is a solid game, first time or otherwise. Good job!

Sink by RPWhitaker 2014-05-01T05:09:00

This was hard. Like megaman hard. It also had super tight controls, and challenging level design. I found the audio to be a little grating, but the destructible terrain was a cool addition, and every time I died, I wanted to try again so I could shoot first next time. Good job! I'd also recommend compiling as a standalone executable. Saving that step gets a lot more people to give it a shot.

Escape to the Surface by Zephyr 2014-04-28T03:49:00

Spiffy mechanics, nice atmosphere. A bit too all-the-difficulty-right-away for my taste.

Foundation by riv_roy 2014-05-01T05:13:00

Neat little game. Explosives as a weapon in games is an idea I really into. The controls felt a little mushy, but it wasn't too difficult to get the hang of them. Your tilesets are really interesting to look at. Good work!

Sandworm Rampage by bchan 2014-05-05T01:08:00

This was good! It's been a long time since I've seen someone make a reference or variation to Snake. You took something old, and gave it a very effective new twist. I'd say this was a great success.

The Crypts of Fire by Norse Games 2014-05-05T02:05:00

Lots of fun. The controls feel a little wonky, but the idea is fun, and the enemies are challenging. The magic is a blast to use.

Thrown Below by furriKira 2014-04-28T05:12:00

Clever puzzles. Good graphics and sound. I wish it was a little bit more clear who's going to go which way when you hit a direction changer. Would totally play more if you make more levels.

Cave-In Jumpin' by BasselGaming 2014-04-28T06:12:00

This is well done. It took me a bit to figure out how it works, but this is a cool idea, and I really don't think I've ever seen this done before.

Subocula by DrMelon 2014-04-29T18:05:00

This is truly excellent for a first entry. Strong use of theme, simple, but clean and consistent graphics, and really spooky and engaging, to boot. Well done, Dr Melon. I'd love to see an enhanced version of this with more exploration of the theme and story.

Kill or Kill by GreatBigJerk 2014-05-02T04:02:00

This seemed pretty buggy, but it was still pretty fun, and I can see what the intent was which helps a lot. Overall, it's a well designed game that just seems to have had some hiccups in execution. If you plan to work on this more, I'd really like to see what it turns into with a bit more development.

Dungeons of Dragorath by killthealias 2014-04-28T04:25:00

Strangely addictive. This game looks very simple on the surface, but it's the little touches that really make it shine. There isn't anything particularly revolutionary here, but the graphics are consistent, the sound design is solid, and the controls are tight once you get used to the movement system. Well done!

ExploitedMiner by awanegenebayo 2014-04-28T04:02:00

Good pixel art, interesting puzzle aspect. Gravity felt a bit extreme.

Spelunker Boxing by NTR 2014-04-28T05:52:00

I am absolutely terrible at this game. I love it though. It's simple, but with just enough complexity and speed you keep your brain in panic mode. The graphics look a little MSPainty, but they're consistent and all the pieces go together well. Solid entry.

Relica by Kino333 2014-04-30T04:17:00

Cool concept, messing with gravity. It's surprisingly challenging for how simple it seems.

Deep Water by nagual 2014-05-05T03:08:00

Good concept, good graphics, great audio. That deep tone that runs while you play really gives a sense of danger. The difficulty could stand to scale a little slower, but overall, this is a lot of fun.

Scary Ugly Face by Jonochrome 2014-04-28T17:26:00

It's amazing how much personality and character fits into this little game. Excellent!

River Raid 3d by harko12 2014-05-05T05:55:00

As a concept demo, this was great. I love river raid and making it a multi-level 3d shooter is awesome. It would have been nice if a couple more core features had been finished, but not ever LD48 goes as planned.

Upstream by Viza 2014-05-17T12:48:00

That was a ton of fun! Solid puzzler with good level layouts. I found the bubbles to be a little bit glitchy occasionally when trying to push them around, but nothing game breaking. Well done!

Blind Path by Gameness Monster 2014-04-30T05:37:00

Neat idea. I found it a little frustrating at times, but I liked the music, and the graphics were nice.

Focus Shift by ForeignGuyMike 2014-04-28T17:09:00

Well done. There's a solid sense of style to the graphics, and the levels are challenging and engaging.

Hell Jumper by xergin 2014-05-05T04:26:00

Very challenging. Very rewarding once you get it. Good job!

Demon Shanker 2 by demonshanker2 2014-05-05T04:36:00

Can't seem to get the game to load right now :[ This looks fun.

God Hunter by iJohnF 2014-04-28T19:25:00

It looks really nice. It's easy to pick up and play, it feels a little bit more luck-heavy than I usually prefer, but at the same time it has a bit of a slot machine feel to it that makes you want to try again when you have some bad luck. Overall, a great entry.

Shootmarine by elmoGames 2014-05-05T04:39:00

Innovation points for multiple perspectives! Bonus points for having voice work. This was really tough, but fun, and good looking.

Geology Rocks by theengineers 2014-05-02T03:55:00

Pretty good game : D the dick more is too much fun to not do though. Even with that exploit, there's some really solid puzzles here. Well done.

Cybs Submarine by Cybs 2014-05-05T05:24:00

A brilliant first try. The game is very simple, but well done. The controls are smooth and responsive, and it's fun!

RAW by ekun 2014-05-15T03:45:00

This was really cool. I didn't really get how/if it used the theme, but I had a blast playing. The controls were smooth and the graphics and animation were good looking (and full of nudity?) Chiptune music did a good job of staying interesting through my tons of deaths. Well done!

Underwater Mech Fighter by Lafolie 2014-05-05T05:29:00

Controls seem like they could use a little work, and there was a bit of unexplained floating, but this was a fun game. The mech customization was cool, and the music and graphics were very nice.

Drowning in Problems by Notch 2014-05-01T17:25:00

This is a really interesting core concept. I'm not really much of a fan of being this heavily text-based, but it really made me take a look at life in a different way. It's as if a computer is running life.exe, and I'm watching the console log. Very thought-provoking, and very unique.

Indie Game Developer Simulator by naxum 2014-05-14T05:55:00

Man, I am REALLY bad at being an indie game developer. Free movement would have improved this a lot, I think. It isn't necessary, but I think it would really offer a great opportunity to simulate the shambling, sleep deprived, hopeless gait that goes with the profession. Very clever game.

Shovel Quest by Nanolotl 2014-05-10T02:57:00

Good. Game. Would I play again? The short answer is yes. The long answer is yes, please. I'd like to see some music added, but this was a really fun, well-built game.

Toxic Below by dertom 2014-05-03T21:03:00

This was really hard! It's tough to pull off such a precision skills based game without it feeling unfair, and Toxic Below did a pretty solid job of it. The controls are responsive, if a bit difficult to master (I played mouse only version) and getting the timing right to hover over a spill just feels great.

COVERUP by SFBTom 2014-05-02T04:33:00

This is good! I think it needs a little bit more depth to really shine, but as it is, it's still a great little memory/strategy game. The graphics are well done, and all the sound effects really seem to fit.

Down by Lost King 2014-04-29T03:33:00

I'm not sure exactly what it is about it, but I love the graphical style here. The MSPaintyness of it doesn't hurt it because of the interesting poses the characters have and the great color pallet used. Also the music is neat.

Kontroise by edibletoaster 2014-05-01T23:51:00

Very well done sound and music. Good sounds really pulls you into a game. Drifting was a cool idea, and seemed like it worked pretty well.

We Can Build Together After We Have Gone to Sleep by WBojangles 2014-04-28T03:21:00

I really enjoyed this. I don't quite get it, but it was a very relaxing experience.

Inspector Badass by ElisƩe and friends 2014-04-29T04:09:00

Very nice. Good use of theme in story and atmosphere. I am very bad at this game, but I want to keep playing anyway. That's good stuff right there.

Beyond The Surface The Chaos Rises by kibertoad 2014-05-05T01:20:00

I didn't quite understand the rules, but I managed to stumble through. The cards were well drawn, and the music was nice. Card games are tough to make interesting, and this was interesting to me. Good job!

Super Surface Shape Shifter by sP0CkEr2 2014-05-01T05:19:00

Very cool idea. Who would have thought that just matching shapes could be so much fun or interesting. It's fairly addictive, and the music is a big help there. Very nicely done.

Coin Diver by VDZ 2014-05-02T00:46:00

Good game! The controls are nice, the graphics look consistent, the music is good, and there's a lot of incentive to keep trying even when you die a watery death.

Hell Hole by TheGreenTie 2014-04-30T05:34:00

This was absolutely ridiculous and I loved every second of it.

Candyland by yokcos700 2014-05-02T00:52:00

Excellent use of theme in more than just the obvious way.

BENEATH the SURFACE by soy_yuma 2014-04-29T21:21:00

This is very well done. The difficulty is ridiculous (not in a bad way) and the running narration creates a great mood. It got a little too frustrating for me later in, but I'll be coming back to it later. Well done!

Sub Terraria Zero by Photon 2014-04-29T04:18:00

Like a 2d Tomb Raider with a lot of snow! This was tons of fun, and just the right kind of difficult to really make me feel stupid every time I died, thus making me try again. Well done.

Drill18: The Mars Project by quill18 2014-05-03T00:48:00

I found the music very catchy : D That's in addition to how well put together the rest of the game was. I'll be coming back to play this more.

Debris by sudojess 2014-05-01T01:02:00

Dizzyyyyy. I felt drunk the whole time I was playing this. This is not a bad thing. The controls kind of felt like my enemy, so when I actually got it to cooperate for me, I felt a deep sense of satisfaction. Well made control system. Solid game.

Beneath the Trolls by Dreauw 2014-04-28T05:00:00

It's very pretty. It's very smooth. It's fun. I like it.

LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

Postman Ninja by Nikteddy92 2015-04-23T21:41:00

Liked the idea, but it felt really hard to control. Even though I was jumping and dodging, and shooting, I was still hitting a BUNCH of stuff. I did really like the music, and using mail as an origami weapon was neat!

JOHN CENA'S WRESTLEQUEST 2015 by Kortuga 2015-04-20T05:01:00

I really enjoyed this, but I can't quite say why. Couldn't stop laughing, and the whole "fall over whenever you attack" thing was pretty interesting.

Gunception by pikmin4000 2015-04-20T05:22:00

This. . . I dunno. This was fun. Weird in concept, and well executed. I enjoyed it!

Porcupine Dogfight by BMacIntosh 2015-04-21T04:52:00

Nice looking graphics and cute sounds. I would have liked some music accompaniment, but the concept was good (and hilarious) and a lot of fun. Good use of theme too.

With Kindness by cdgugler 2015-04-20T23:28:00

This game was quite silly, and that was a good thing. Hugging was a very unconventional way to fight, but I liked it. Very nice.

Ninja With A Teddy Bear by agmcleod 2015-04-20T23:25:00

I was a little confused about what I should be attacking at first, but once I figured it out, it was fun. Loved the teddy bear idea. Unconventional weapon for sure.

Cassette by Noah Ratcliff 2015-04-23T23:54:00

Really nice graphics, and the music was cool too. Nice game!

Melter by Mase 2015-04-25T19:02:00

Negative first: Controls and performance felt pretty sluggish, BUT this may have been my computer/browser's fault so I don't weigh much on that.
Positive: This game is beautiful, and have one of the most unique graphical styles I've seen so far. The concept of bridging and melting took a bit of getting used to, but really made what would otherwise have been a fairly straightforward platformed into a more memorable experience. Good job!

BoozeHound by Havacore 2015-04-20T05:36:00

It started with a giggle, and then it was a fun game as well! The controls felt a little clunky in places, and the BoozeHound felt a bit floaty, but it all worked.

Saber Disk by Neonlare 2015-04-20T04:07:00

Very well put together. Graphics and sound were excellent, and controls were smooth. It was a little hard to see what was going on when the screen had a lot of enemies on it.

I CRUSH YOU by grillaface 2015-04-23T22:18:00

This game was really creative, and I love the actual hand being used to crush the animated enemies. The voice acting was hilarious, and the game play was smooth. Wish it had more difficult levels.

Close Quarter Time Distorter by Lord bobyness 2015-04-20T05:30:00

Good idea and concept. Everything runs pretty smoothly. It would have been nice to see the concept taken a little bit farther than survive until you die, though. Music was really nice.

The morning type by Liam :D 2015-04-20T22:52:00

I liked this game, but as you said, the theme wasn't really there. Music would have been a good touch, but it was a fun game for someone who was learning to type. Nice job.

Planet Cleaner by hypothete 2015-04-20T22:38:00

This game flipped out on me a little when I found my ship again, but it was fun. Using cleaning product as a weapon was quite unconventional. I liked it!

bloodshot by rogueNoodle 2015-04-25T19:41:00

Excellent entry! This game was polished, engaging, and original. The idea of blood as a weapon, and "your health is your ammo" turns a twin-stick shooter in a precision experience, and I had a blast playing.

Dwarf Launcher by loadsofmana 2015-04-23T21:15:00

This game was fun, but I felt like some of the controls were confusing. Upgrading my cannon didn't seem to actually help speed up the process at all. But this game was really fun, and the theme was quite present. Nice!

Frisbee Training by ChuiGum 2015-04-25T19:21:00

This game was ridiculously hard by itself, HOWEVER as a multiplayer experience, it's pretty much the best thing ever. Kind of made me think of co-op lethal league. Passing the frisbee between two players as a weapon is just great on so many levels. Excellent work!

Billy McMath Solves Problems by Manky 2015-04-20T05:52:00

Break out the five cannon! Seriously. This was great in pretty much every way.

Le Roman de Goupil by Luke Magitem 2015-04-20T22:00:00

Loved the art. Once finished, I think it would be fun!

Doctor Dropper by internetpaulicy 2015-04-20T21:19:00

Loved this game! Use of the theme with pianos as the weapon was really clever, and the character design was really nice! This was a fun game!

Mad Maddie by Boodog 2015-04-20T03:57:00

I like sticking my tongue out. . . BLEP! Some more sound effects would have been nice, but the music was good, and my wife couldn't stop giggling, so bonus points for that!

DATAWIN Lite by sorlok 2015-04-21T05:48:00

I died pretty quickly. The music and sound was really well done, and I did really enjoy that everything was dancing. While turn-based combat isn't really my thing, it was an impressive system to have put together in a LD game.

Pizzocalypse by mystakin 2015-04-20T23:17:00

This game was really fun, and the graphics were really nice. I liked the flying cows. Both sides of this game had unconventional weapons. Well done.

How I Escaped The Dungeon of Torment by EpaceGames 2015-04-23T21:56:00

Loved this game! It was clever, cute, and fun! The graphics were very nice and the music fit the feeling of the game. Really enjoyed attaching different garden tools to my hose, and seeing how it affected my hits! Great job!

Savior by CarlsonAndPeeters 2015-04-21T05:12:00

::gross sobbing:: so sad! My only complaint would be that the controls make me feel like my character weights 600 pounds and is covered in butter. I'm impressed with the number of levels, and the humor is. . . humorous. Good job!

Inkling by Pixel_Reaper 2015-04-23T22:10:00

I liked the idea of this game! I agree with above comments that a goal would be nice, but even something as simple as a points system would fix that. The sound was good, and the mechanics worked well.

Manriki by FistBumpGames 2015-04-23T22:40:00

This game was really pretty, and the music was very nice.

Lets go Bananas in outer space by Smiley 2015-04-20T21:26:00

I liked the music and of course, the bananas! Having a banana gun instead of a laser gun felt pretty good. Good use of theme.

The TV Remote by Leandrus 2015-04-20T05:57:00

Presentation is really nice overall. I found some of the sound effects a little bit grating, and some guidance would have been helpful, but the concept is really interesting, and the bits I did manage to figure out were fun.

Unconventional Time by OccamsRazor 2015-04-20T20:58:00

I liked the music and it was a fun and challenging game! The use of time as an unconventional weapon was neat, and defeating the enemies with time was clever!

Light'em Up by CodeNMore 2015-04-21T04:59:00

I felt like the laser was a bit of a crutch that kept the other weapons from truly shining (haha). However, the graphics and sound were consistent, and I had some fun killin' monsters. Well done.

Can You Reach the Sun? by Garris 2015-04-20T03:57:00

Link fixed! Thanks for the heads up.

Can You Reach the Sun? by Garris 2015-04-23T07:48:00

That's actually a pretty good idea Davikin92. I may give that a shot for the post-compo version.

Can You Reach the Sun? by Garris 2015-04-24T00:59:00

High five! :D

Bully Simulator by Pantelis Petsopoulos 2015-04-20T21:58:00

Interesting idea. Could have used a little more variety of insults, or a more clear way to determine which ones we were using.

Mouse Roller by DMajor 2015-04-24T00:41:00

This game was confusing but adorable! I had a lot of fun playing it, actually!

Ridiculous Bird Hunting by eastes 2015-04-20T21:32:00

The blow horn was hilarious and it really killed those birds dead. Fun little game, good use of theme.

Pillow Fightin'!! by shyupuff 2015-04-20T03:37:00

That ending line, though. This game was hilarious, and I enjoyed every second.

Freddy's Challange by Shimone 2015-04-20T21:54:00

Love the graphics and the art! Very nice! The spikes seem a little too unforgiving, though. I liked the idea of the game, and how his weapon was a pencil.

Cornflake Capers by peejaygee 2015-04-23T23:57:00

This was a weird one haha. I enjoyed it! The music was nice, and the theme was certainly present. Very odd, but still very fun!

Toilet War by SzRaPnEL 2015-04-20T21:47:00

Nice use of theme; toilets aren't often used as weapons to help save the world! Would have liked some background music instead of just beeps and boops. As said above, the cooldown would have been better if it was a bit faster. It's hard to actually use the correct laser in time.

Improvisational Assassin by Vantaug 2015-04-20T23:22:00

I killed a man with a plunger and that was pretty great, but it was pretty hard to squeeze my broad shoulders through those passageways. It could have been more fun if there had been a bit more music and also if my shoulders didn't always get in my way.

Love Bomb by Andrew Quartermain 2015-04-24T00:06:00

Very pretty game. The graphics were amazing. Music was soft and relaxed, which I liked. It seemed that no matter how many bombs I dropped, it didn't really make them love each other more. But Maybe I was dropping them in the wrong spots. Overall, I really liked the idea of this game!

The Legend of the Yo-Yo Salesman by seankimdesign 2015-04-20T23:14:00

This game is really nice. The music and graphics are good, and the interpretation of theme is great. It is really short, but it was enjoyable the whole way through. Good controls, making the yoyo do double damage was really nice. Would like to see this as a more full game with more levels and a storyline. Awesome job.

The War Dog by Xinelu 2015-04-20T03:42:00

I would like to have seen a couple more levels, but what was there was good. I liked the music, but it seemed like my browser was having some trouble playing it smoothly. Good use of theme.

Cheese Ball Warfare by QuexD 2015-04-24T00:25:00

The controls all worked well for me, and it was nice to have music, though it sounded a bit too intense for how slowly the enemies appeared. Pretty fun though.

Light by jthistle 2015-04-20T20:33:00

Nice concept, but the controls felt a little confusing, and the jumping was a little nuts. Would have been nice to have a bit more variety in sounds. Nice use of theme though.

Fencing in Wonderland by 6DownStudios 2015-04-25T06:34:00

So this was hilarious, but I didn't really get it. It was a blast jumping around, getting stuck and throwing cardmen everywhere, but it seems like the controls didn't always respond. Still fun though, and that's kind of the point. Good job.

Extreme Fighting Not Very Greedy Jews With Doner Kebab For No Reason. The Game. by daltostronic 2015-04-23T22:22:00

Fun game! And also really funny! The controls all worked nicely, and the use of theme here was pretty hilarious!

Frazzle Dazzle by hexdie 2015-04-21T06:08:00

My head was filled with Zohan quotes while playing this. I really had to stretch to come up with any critique or complaint for this game. The only thing I came up with is the jump key felt just a touch unresponsive here and there. Excellent work!

Dino Warriors by ito123456789 2015-04-20T21:04:00

I like the idea and the art is pretty cute, but it stopped working for me after the second battle. Right when I was about to hatch some more dinos! Wish it had music and sound, but I liked the concept and would have liked to play a few more rounds!

Pooper the Pig! by SelfTitled 2015-04-20T22:47:00

This game was fun, but it did seem like it took too long to poop, which got me eaten a few times too many. Also the pig was a bit hard to control. But it was really cute, and enjoyable! Good job!

Master of Music by Robinerd 2015-04-20T21:40:00

Original idea, and it was visually interesting. I liked the idea more than the play, because the controls were a bit hard to use. Enjoyed the music and use of theme.

Forest Hecate by Jordan 2015-04-20T05:11:00

I didn't really get it, but it seemed to be working pretty well. I beat a boss! And there were kittens. A net positive.

Friendly neighborhood parasite by nitrik 2015-04-20T22:05:00

Interesting concept, and good use of theme. Some kind of background music would have been nice, as well as a little more direction as to where we are supposed to end up, or where the target was.

Ob3se by ghostonline 2015-04-20T22:30:00

I liked the music, but it seemed like the fruits and burgers blended into the background just a bit. The idea isn't all that new, but it was fun, and it was a good use of theme.

Beermageddon by error031 2015-04-20T03:46:00

Man this was fun! Really bare-bones, and the controls felt just a bit clunky, you made up for it with humor and simplicity. Well done.

The Hand That Feeds by Skinny Jean Death 2015-04-26T00:10:00

I love seeing games that use an indirect approach to combat. Using bait to get your pet to attack was a cool idea, and the art was consistent and good-looking. I did find the music a little grating though.

Garden of Strife by Nanolotl 2015-04-24T23:22:00

Solid graphics and sound really make this. I see a pretty heavy zelda influence, and that blended will with the concept of weaponized plants. The attack distance was a little bit of an issue at first, but I fixed it by getting good. Well done!

Atled by Wow 2015-04-21T06:17:00

The idea was a good one. There is a pretty significant problem with clarity though. Music was nice though.

Snow Cones by Mechamew 2015-04-23T23:03:00

I really liked this game! The graphics were really cute and the music fit nicely! I thought the controls were nice, and they worked well. Had trouble considering the theme, though. As none of this really reminded me of any kind of weapon...

Mag Gunner by Phil Strahl 2015-04-21T05:39:00

Graphics were well done, and the concept and puzzles were solid. Also it's nice to see a ludum dare game with an end. It makes the whole thing feel more packaged. High scores are a nice touch.

Candy Defense: Legoes by Flygamer101 2015-04-20T03:31:00

Oh man, lego land mines. This was clever and made me chuckle. Excellent use of theme.

The Power of the Flower by Jungle 2015-04-21T06:33:00

Music was excellent. The game was well made, if a bit simple. I would have liked to see a bit more enemy variety or movement patterns. Good game though!

Freakish Revolution by vini60 2015-04-20T06:01:00

Pretty fun, and a funny concept with the unconventionality. Controls felt a little sloppy, but they got the job done. I shot a man next to a wagon and he became another wagon.

Sandwich Assassin by stuffedgravy 2015-04-20T20:53:00

Really fun game! Interesting concept, and well made! The music was nice, the theme was well executed! I really enjoyed the challenge! Good job!

Get The Cookies Back by Modoc73 2015-04-23T22:45:00

I liked the bubble gun and how you could create solutions to your puzzles by blowing bubbles into platforms. Collecting lost cookies that had been taken away by a monkey was a bit perplexing, but it worked, I suppose! Nice graphics, and the music was fun and bright :)

Sugar Lake Chronicles by ProgrammerSteve 2015-04-23T22:29:00

This is a really cute game! Reminded me a bit of Zelda, map-wise. It was a realllyyy big map, and not many enemies to kill along the way to finding Johnny. Also our character was a really slow walker for the amount of map to cover. But I liked this game! Really nice, smooth controls! And the lollipop was a really cute weapon.

Clashy Clouds by NCBRdev 2015-04-23T21:23:00

Loved this game! Very cute, and actually pretty challenging. I liked the specials we could use by saving up pink clouds. It was a game I wanted to keep playing. Nice music, and also really good use of theme!

Pow-Pow Pop-Pop by ctufaro 2015-04-23T22:01:00

I enjoyed the concept for this game! Using a tennis ball shooting grandpa as a weapon is hilarious. I was a little confused as to why my enemies were bros, but I guess pop-pop has no tolerance for the youth of today. Fun game, though the shooting control tended to stick a bit, I guess. Sometimes his walker would go up and nothing would be shot out.

Pebble's Bakery by simon.parzer 2015-04-23T22:56:00

This is my favorite game so far. All of the elements of it combine to make a hilarious and really fun game play! Love the graphics, love the music, and the use of theme here is perfect. Really well done!

Poop in the Park by thegypsyknight 2015-04-20T22:26:00

This game was actually quite fun, though it felt like it sort of set you up for failure on a few runs. Poop is indeed an unconventional weapon.

Color Nightmare by Arche-san 2015-04-23T21:36:00

This game was really fun, but I really was wishing there was some sound! Music would have made it really great. That said, I really had a good time playing, and I thought the mechanics of blending colors was clever and fun! Really an awesome game!

Ghost Prosecutor: Closing Statement by awestsecurity 2015-04-20T21:10:00

I really enjoyed the random tuba sounds as music, and the concept was good! The art was cute and interesting. Use of theme was well-played, but I was a little underwhelmed with there only being one level and the combos were a little confusing.

Jonathan Porta by Jonathan Porta 2015-04-20T05:44:00

Interesting concept. I felt the game needed something more to it. It may have been my browser's fault, but the laser beam only rendered for me using the windows download.

Anyone having trouble with the web player version, try a download.

Don't Choke! by Big Cow 2015-04-24T00:13:00

This game was really fun! I would have liked to be able to see my mouse on the screen before it was time to choose my rhyme. It threw off my timing on a few and made me lose. But I really liked this game!

Sivo: Trial of the Lava God by rattower 2015-04-20T22:57:00

This game was really unusual, but I liked it! I liked using music as a weapon, and the character itself was weird, but in a good way. Fun game.

SHAMPOO PLEASE by napedia 2015-04-20T05:15:00

Either you are correct and this was seriously hardly a game, or I was missing something. Either way, it's a hilarious spoof and I enjoyed myself. (I blew it though)

Deadly Attraction by Reisen 2015-04-20T04:10:00

I think maybe I didn't fully understand the mechanic for pulling, but I had fun squishing enemies with push. Good use of theme.

Breakfast Hero by pinkrobopanda 2015-04-26T00:05:00

I don't get it, but I laughed xD and that's cool.

Word Battle by cicanci 2015-04-20T23:01:00

This game could have been more fun if it had been easier to click the letters. Having to scroll by dragging was hard to accomplish while still having time to get your word in. Cool idea though, and good use of the theme.

Cheesy Defender by SledKnight 2015-04-23T22:32:00

This game is really funny and also fun. Loved the squeaks from the rats when you hit them with the paper planes. Nice job!

NO TIME TO EXPLAIN: GET IN THE LLAMA by Nidar 2015-04-20T04:03:00

Simple, to-the-point, and who doesn't love a good fart bomb?

Explosive Chickens! by zeejfps 2015-04-23T22:37:00

I wish this game had has some sound. It was really lacking in that department, which is sad because it was a really fun and interesting game! I liked the different chickens and it was a really smooth game!

Super Magiball Extreme Deluxe by jordyadan 2015-04-20T04:15:00

Wow. This game was unique in concept, used the theme well, and was a lot of fun! Excellent entry!

Celebrity Fart by lucien 2015-04-23T23:23:00

This game is weird but also fun. Simple, but pretty great.

LOVE: An Unconventional Weapon by Cherrymochi 2015-04-20T22:11:00

I liked the music but the other noises this game made were really screechy. It hurt my ears a little. But! Really really cute, and surprisingly fun to play! Nice job!

The Towel Club by team_towel 2015-04-28T04:36:00

This game's concept and presentation is laugh-out-loud hilarious. I wish there had been a little more variety in the move set, but the animations were so stuffed full of character and personality, I didn't really mind. Good game!

You're Toast by rosy_tucker 2015-04-23T21:07:00

I liked the concept for this game. It's a creative idea and I like that the weapon here is jellied toast! The music felt a little repetitive, but overall it was fun!

Wizard Words by HeroBiX 2015-04-23T23:11:00

This cart was really hard to control! That said, I thought the game itself was really original, and I liked the story! The music was really nice too.

Classroom madness by dizshok 2015-04-20T22:34:00

Wasn't really sure how to win this game. The directions were a little unclear. But visually I liked it.

Ah, Blast It! by Kronics 2015-04-21T05:57:00

This game was solid. It was simple, yes, but it did it's core thing well. It's a good shooter. A little more depth would have been nice, but again, solid core. Well done.

walkin' talkin' by justthestudio 2015-04-23T23:17:00

I managed to get through several enemies, but the farther I went, the more confusing it was to see how to defeat them. I did really like the graphics, and the music was pretty nice.

HUGO THE LASERCAT KING by TyrusPeace 2015-04-24T00:17:00

Really cute and really fun! I loved the music, it fit really well!

What Aliens Want by wmoschini 2015-04-24T00:31:00

I liked this game but with there was more to it. It was fun, but I wanted some music, or some scoreboard, or something else. Really cute graphics, and nice use of theme!

Legends of Kersalmon by tummyache 2015-04-23T21:28:00

This game is really cute! I love the lanky fisherman, and I love that I'm using a fish as a weapon. Really enjoyed the art. Nice job!

Thanks Guugle! by Kitch 2015-04-20T23:08:00

Very nice. It was a little hard to figure out if the order you chose was actually correct or not, but it was a really fun and cute game. Nice graphics and music.

ink by quill18 2015-04-26T00:03:00

Very nice. The environment and menu were beautiful, and the player and enemy graphics were consistent. My only critique would be that the ink attack mechanic felt a little clunky, but I got by. Thematically, this was excellent! You really did a good job of making all the elements complement each other.

Space Burger Defender by Raimonds 2015-04-24T00:35:00

It was pretty hard to stop the mice because they were going to fast, and it seemed like the cat was just spinning too slowly. The power-up I managed to get made my cat spin like the blazes, but when it wore off I was back to losing my burger. I did like the art though, and it was a good use of theme!

Math Mania! by SuperPokeunicorn 2015-04-20T03:52:00

Math R Hard D: Clever game though. really interesting idea setting up attacks beforehand and then running real time.

LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

Molly's Dreaming by flyingbear 2015-12-15T01:16:00

I launched the gophers into space! : D I liked that items in bubbles would let you collect fast things by hitting them with your noodley body, but I wish hitting an item with your head was an instance collect. But I LAUNCHED GOPHERS INTO SPACE! : D

Space Eater by kevin_pauly 2015-12-15T23:31:00

Love this game! It's so cute! The music was adorable, and the controls worked very nicely. The only thing I might add is different enemy types for the different levels. The level names seemed like they could have dictated what the enemies could have looked like, such as lollipops and lemon drops. Overall, this game was fun and looked great. Awesome job!

Growing Madness by WebFreak001 2015-12-14T23:25:00

Reminded me a bit of WarioWare. The minigames are interesting and there seems to be a lot of them :] I'd recommend some music, and a check to make sure keys that represent left and right are actually left and right of each other. I found that a little disorienting. Also I am the GREATEST at climbing that ladder.

Crazy Slinky Snake by oal 2015-12-15T23:00:00

This game was weird, but really fun. The timer made it more challenging, and therefore more addicting to play. The audio was pretty simple, but it fit nicely. Cool game!

Bloon by Paul Sinnett 2015-12-15T22:42:00

The two button controls worked, but they were pretty slow to respond, which made it hard to control the balloon once it was inflated past a certain point. I liked the music, although it got a little repetitive. Simple game, but fun!

UPSQUID by 01010111 2015-12-23T03:46:00

Very nice work. I like the minimalist, high-contrast graphical style, and the game is very easy to read in terms of getting the hang of what to do. The only thing I might recommend is maybe some rotation inertia. I think it would help a lot with precision movements to have the rotation speed start slowly and speed up the longer you hold down the button. I found myself running into walls a lot because I overturned slightly when I just needed a tiny little adjustment.

Backwards and Bonkers! by CartoonJenn 2015-12-15T02:27:00

Great graphics. All it needs is a little sound, and some powerups/downs! :D

Beardgrow by esayitch 2015-12-17T00:32:00

This was a fun game, and slightly harder than I was expecting! I love how his stubble starts growing the more manly items you collect! Really nice game.

Pigeon by euske 2015-12-16T09:17:00

Wow, this is a cool idea! Excellent use of theme. I haven't beat it yet, but it feels like I want to keep trying. I couldn't figure out if there was a method to whether the bird goes left or right, but that was the only bit that bothered me. Well done!

Harmony Bloom by Bensonance 2015-12-16T23:53:00

This game was really neat! I liked the incorporation of the theme, and the game play was smooth and interesting. Nice audio, and I really liked the little lady character and her bird. Very cute.

Tamagotchi Hell by Troyan 2015-12-15T09:11:00

Everything seemed to work for me. I haven't seen a tamagotchi in years! Great artwork. Great sound. The basket catch minigame could use a bit of speeding up though, I think.

Sweet Tooth Mouse by markusfisch 2015-12-15T23:13:00

This game is super cute, so it would have been fun to have a complete game from it. But what you did manage to make was really cute!

Rude Bear Recreation by Alex Rose 2015-12-15T22:54:00

This is a really fun game to play! The theme "growing" has definitely taken on a new meaning here, but it was still fun, and it controlled well! Bravo!

Flowershop Tale by Geti 2015-12-15T01:47:00

I really wish there was more to this. The graphics and audio are gorgeous! I wanted to play more.

Arc by ChuiGum 2015-12-15T08:43:00

GOOD GRAVY THIS IS HARD. I think my current high score is like 6? I'll be coming back to this again later when I'm more awake/less exhausted. Your presentation is excellent though! Graphics are crisp and smooth, and the music is catchy. Nice one :]

Hearty's Quest by LMT 2015-12-15T23:54:00

Really fun game! It's just challenging enough, and the graphics and music are nice! I really enjoyed playing!

Flutter by cudabear 2015-12-16T08:57:00

Very impressive. I love a good puzzle platformer, and there was some real head-scratching here. The music was relaxing, and I liked the cat's falling pose. good job!

Feed the Cat by Polona 2015-12-15T00:44:00

Cute graphics. I think a little movement or scrolling from the background would really add a lot to this game though.

Awkward Missile Command by herniewise 2015-12-16T23:16:00

This game is appropriately named, for sure. It was so fun, and so awkward using only my two buttons to save the land from a firey bomb death. Love the music, and it fit the theme well. Awesome job.

Hanabi by LittleThor 2015-12-16T00:06:00

This game confused me somewhat. I wasn't really sure that what I was doing was working, or that it was what I was supposed to be doing at all. I got 900 points, though I'm not entirely sure what I did to earn them. But it was very pretty, and an interesting idea!

Zen Jen by fluidvolt 2015-12-15T00:17:00

Jen graphics were cute, and the zen sequences were mesmerizing. A little bit more guidance at the beginning would have been nice, but I got it figured out.

Giant tree battle by jackolondon 2015-12-15T09:05:00

Taking a really simple mechanic like a clicker game and putting it online against other people also clicking just somehow makes the whole thing seem more epic. A very light game, but I had fun with it! Good job.

Wonky Ship by Slashee the Cow 2015-12-16T23:11:00

I like the way you used the two button controls here! It made the game a little more challenging because the arrow and the cannon weren't pointing the same direction. I had a fun time playing. The graphics were pretty simple, but well executed, and the controls were smooth. Cool game!

Drunkle by Andy Gainey 2015-12-15T23:23:00

This game was really clever! Love the name, and the audio was very nice. Good interpretation of theme, and it was a really fun game! Controls were good, if a little intentionally confusing :) Nice game!

When I Grow Up I Want to be by Lancelot Gao 2015-12-15T02:15:00

Cute! Also very well presented. I loved the depth of field effects, and the shoes really made it. I would like to see it a little faster on the pacing though. I found myself just waiting for the screen to scroll in a few places. Also creative use of theme.

BUBBLEGUM UPPERCUT! by Garris 2015-12-15T01:38:00

I submitted a little bit early specifically to give myself time to shade the rose : D

BUBBLEGUM UPPERCUT! by Garris 2015-12-16T15:37:00

YinYin, was the dash not killing enemies for you? Unless you have the glasses, a dash should 1-hit an enemy.

BUBBLEGUM UPPERCUT! by Garris 2015-12-20T01:51:00

A little. The whole thing was meant to be a bit creepy though.

Edo Arena by PowerSpark 2015-12-15T01:05:00

Great concept, animations are smooth. This is a lot of fun. The controls felt a little bit sluggish, and I did encounter that issue with enemies getting stuck in the player, but I still enjoyed it enough to play up through the sai and armory. The shop was a great addition.

The Super Bros (that are not Brothers!) by Xinelu 2015-12-15T03:01:00

Clever. Good concept, charming graphics. Frustrating. Very very frustrating, and a lot of fun!

Crusader Climber Quest 64 by SSJMetroid 2015-12-16T09:03:00

Best. Voice. Acting. Ever!

The Rap Game by Rocketship 2015-12-14T23:43:00

Really solid game! The art was great, and using record scratch to represent rap voice was a fun idea. The UI was a bit sparse. I would have liked just a little bit more indication of what was going on, but it fit the aesthetic well.

SAAAM by Ogniok 2015-12-15T02:57:00

I am really blown away by the quality and depth on display here. Really great job!

Oklahoma Tempest by Fanatrick 2015-12-15T01:53:00

As an art piece, this was beautiful. The graphics were top-shelf, and the audio was fitting if a bit sparse. Gameplay-wise, I wish there had been a bit more depth. I played this several times through just for the art though. Fancy!

Save the Oak by Givit Game Studios 2015-12-20T08:30:00

I like defense games in this style, but I think some more work could have gone into balancing. The game feels a little bit unfairly difficult at times. Maybe some power-ups or a way to help collect seeds. I think something might have been wrong with the shooting sound effect, but everything else seemed like it worked pretty well. Fun once you get the hang of it!

Panball by gillenew 2015-12-16T00:19:00

This game was super fun to play. Love the graphics and the audio, and the controls were easy. Theme was well represented in the panda's fatness and the two button control! Nicely done!

Sand Storm by pontooncity 2015-12-16T23:29:00

This game was really interesting! It was challenging to understand at first, but pretty neat. I like the music!

Eat & Grow! by vasylbo 2015-12-15T23:11:00

This game was really simple, but it was fun! I liked the color palate you used.

Hedgie The Explorer by Caspila 2015-12-16T00:28:00

This game was really fun, and super cute! Nice music, and the graphics were really good!

Litterlings by Yazara 2015-12-20T09:23:00

This was incredibly charming and took me completely by surprise. I wasn't really sure what the draw was at first, and then I accidentally killed my first litterling. NEVER AGAIN! D: Really, this was great and I'd love to see the concept explored further.

The Artifact by nunesbarbosa 2015-12-20T02:06:00

I really love this game as a concept. The control scheme was cool, and the graphical style is really eye-catching. I think the game would benefit most from being longer. You've got the setup for a great adventure and it ends so quickly. Such is Ludum Dare, but I'd love to see this as a full adventure.

Shoot Or Don't Shoot by Coomzy 2015-12-15T00:30:00

I like the concept, and it seems like everything works well. Alas, I am too slow to truly shine at this game.

Barber Chop by AngrySquirrels 2015-12-17T00:13:00

This game is so much fun! An awesome idea accompanied by cute graphics, and really great audio and controls. Love it, awesome job!

Floppy Joe by Team_Friendship 2015-12-22T22:11:00

This was a pretty fun game! I think a few more obstacles would have been nice, because it was a bit repetitive, but it worked well! I did have to restart it the first time because I fell backwards off of the platform and I just kept falling into the sky, but once I restarted and stayed on the platform, all was well. I really liked the graphics and the music!

Sushi Pit Cephalopod by kirbytails7 2015-12-22T22:18:00

This game was really fun, and cute! The controls worked nicely, and it made me really wish I had those joysticks. Cool game!

Rodger by Bailman03 2015-12-15T23:18:00

This was a fun game! The theme was nicely interpreted and the music was very nice. It would have been nice to have to audio accompaniment to the lasers and jet pack, but overall, this was quite fun. Well done.

Sushi Roll by adsilcott 2015-12-17T00:43:00

This was a fun game! The audio was fun!

Just Potato by Kakureta 2015-12-17T00:36:00

This game was really funny and cute, but it was so hard to land that darn potato on his platform. I loved the weird noise it made when you ate a golden potato, and the graphics were nice and potatoey.

Egggs by simon.parzer 2015-12-16T23:35:00

This is a silly and hilarious game, and I liked it a lot! Not sure how a tree can lay an egg, but it happened. Nice audio and graphics, and overall, it was just fun to play. Well done!

FLOW by Romixal 2015-12-16T09:36:00

Headphones definitely help. This was so atmospheric and relaxing after the initial spookiness work off a bit. The web version does seem to be pretty unbearably framey, but I had no troubles with the windows build. It's always good to see a really well done game in GameMaker. Good job!

The War of Japants by Blobo 2015-12-15T01:25:00

It is impossible to play this game without a huge, stupid grin. That said, the level generation felt a little trollish. Adding a double jump would go a long ways toward helping the player get through a tough segment. I greatly enjoyed the headband physics.

Lumberjack vs. Ancient Druid's Cybertree by anv 2015-12-15T02:48:00

I took a selfie while falling over dead and it brought me back to life! Great entry though. Graphics are good, and even stylish, and the sound and music fit perfectly.

Apple Pick by cybutek 2015-12-16T23:58:00

Nice game! I like how it gets harder with time, and adding the little apples with the worm to give us extra droppable apples was great. The graphics were simple, but cute, and I liked the music a lot! Well done!

High Noon Swinger by saucygames 2015-12-16T09:24:00

Aiming is really tough! But that definitely creates that feel of "I can do better. One more game" which is great! Your art is good, and the sound effects were fine. Good game.

TreePlanting Simulator by Cursed Embassy 2015-12-18T06:31:00

There wasn't really a whole lot here. Would have been nice to see some more to do other than plant one tree and walk around, BUT making a 3d game that looks this good and works this effectively in GameMaker is quite an accomplishment. The music was nice, and there was a good mood to the game.

Nunsaram by jangdan 2015-12-16T22:59:00

This game was cute, and I liked the sort of horror piano music, though I do wish it were more constant rather than just a few notes here and there. Also, it would have been nice to have some goal other than just getting points for being alive. Maybe eating the kids or whatever as you get bigger would be a better goal than just points for being alive.

aSCALErate by Strike 2015-12-17T00:24:00

This game was really fun! I like the variety of tracks you have, as well as the different power-ups, but I do wish there were some way of telling them apart. It would be fun to play with multiple people, too. Cool game!

Battle For Bedroom by monetai 2015-12-17T00:20:00

The graphics were quite nice, and I liked the music, too! Wish I had someone to be my player 2, because it seems like a fun game to play with an opponent!

The Crystal Thief by sichevoid 2015-12-15T01:07:00

The graphics look a little inconsistent with each other, but everything works. I would like to see a little more depth in gameplay, but the matching mechanic does well as it is.

Aukan and the Sacred Sprout by matiasbontempo 2015-12-15T02:23:00

Nice graphics and the music was catchy. I wish the enemies had a more clear indication of where their attacks were landing. It made it hard to dodge/counter when you can't see the hits. I made it past full-grown tree stage though! : D

Red Concert by tantumgames 2015-12-19T04:38:00

This game had some big ups and some small downs. I love the ridiculousness of it all, and the weapon variety and sound effects were great! However, the controls felt a little bit floaty, and the hitboxes were hard to figure out in place. Still though, it was incredibly satisfying beating faces in with a guitar.

The Quest Of The Two Buttons by AlmightyTuna 2015-12-15T00:24:00

Great game! I'd play this on my phone post-compo if I could.

Bridge Balance by blohod 2015-12-15T02:34:00

Fun builder :] Ridiculous looking bridges xD Kudos on using both themes. Good job!

Little Flower Big Sky by pinneh 2015-12-16T23:20:00

I like the art style of your game, but it seemed like there might be a few glitches, or I just didn't know I was doing something wrong. My little man kept floating off the flower and then eventually just biting the dust by being flung off...but nothing hit me. It fits the theme, though, and the music is great!

DeepHunt:Procedural gen. survival by Saivan 2015-12-16T23:05:00

This game is strangely addicting and very fun! I love the graphics and the music, and it fits the theme nicely. I can see myself playing this over and over again, trying to win. Awesome game :)

Turbo Tram Drift by Drury 2015-12-16T08:45:00

Great game! It did make me a little bit dizzy, but that's a risk in every game for people prone to motion sickness. I love the risk/reward system of speeding up, and that's the most stylish method I've ever seen for a tram to put on the brakes.

Bokusu Fightu ! (2 Players) by Rosain_f 2015-12-17T01:32:00

The game looks good despite having a simple aesthetic. I didn't get the chance to play it with another person, but I fiddled around with the 2 players myself and had a lot of fun even that way.

Geometric Battle by Indie L 2015-12-16T09:09:00

I won! Wooo! For what's here, you've done very well. I do think a couple more elements to gameplay would help though. Maybe some different movement patterns for enemies or level hazards or something like that. Your graphics are nice and consistent though.

Sentient Sewage by blakeohare 2015-12-15T23:03:00

I like the innovation showed here. I don't think I've ever played as sewer water before, and it was fun to reject those chlorine pellets. Nice game :)

Knitted Fighter by Usanio 2015-12-15T22:47:00

Very cute graphics and music, but I did encounter the same problems as Headmade. My timer stopped at 1 and I wasn't leaving any thread.

Tubutten Beetle by YinYin 2015-12-18T07:30:00

Neat mechanic. I like rain games with a little depth to them like this. your jump is quite satisfying, and I like tapping to speed up. I'd recommend adding a check to make sure that berries you need to pickup don't spawn right on top of spikes. Red berries are hella rad though :]

Where Are Meow Friends by RedBricksStudio 2015-12-15T23:47:00

Fun game! The way my cat friends stacked up next to me made moving around a bit of a challenge, and it seemed like sometimes, I was being caught by the wolf when he hadn't touched me at all, but the game was cute! And the audio was good, too.

Two buttons to save the city ! by LavWa 2015-12-16T08:50:00

Cute graphics, good sound, a little addicting. This was fun! I'm not sure how I feel about the extra numbers in later stages. When I saw the first 2, I thought the system was trying to trick me. Then I felt like that would be a pretty neat idea.

Spirit Serenade by Ardent Skylight 2015-12-15T23:40:00

Good use of theme, and the graphics and music were very nice. Cool game!

Astro Cat Saga by Astro Cat 2015-12-17T00:05:00

This was a cute game, but the response time on the box rotation as well as the hit boxes on those bombs made it pretty difficult to win. Once you got used to it, it was easier, but the controls could maybe use some work. I did like the graphics, and the audio! It was a fun game to play!

Frantic Farming by Fidrik 2015-12-15T02:42:00

Great growing simulator! I'd recommend consolidating the controls a little bit. Maybe E is context sensitive and lets you interact, plant or place sprinklers depending on what you're looking at? The game looks and sounds great though. Good job!

Thorn - The Dreamer by greenscreen 2015-12-22T22:29:00

I love the music in this game, and the use of theme was good! I do wish the plant would have been a little quicker to respond to the commands it was given for moving in either direction, but it was fun anyway. Nice job :)

Between Buttons by Xatpy 2015-12-15T23:07:00

Love the music, and the interpretation of theme here was cute, too! This game is a lot of fun!

R.I.D.B. (Robotic IceCream Delivery Bot) by RIDBers 2015-12-16T00:11:00

I don't think it quite counts as two buttons because movement still uses all four arrow keys, but this was a cute game none the less. I liked the audio!

Strong Like Orc by SpareWizard 2015-12-17T00:27:00

This game was a lot of fun to play! I kept trying again and again to progress more down the line. I liked your audio, and the two button controls worked well!

BikeNBlend by cryptlexity 2015-12-16T00:00:00

It seemed like the controls for the smoothie making portion were really difficult to use. It was cute though, and the music was nice.

Growth Industries by quill18 2015-12-18T06:27:00

I really enjoyed this. You put together a really solid system of mechanics that makes a fun and challenging experience. The only critiques I have are that I found the music just a touch repetitive, and I had an instance or two of a tile placing when I scrolled the map. I can't consistently reproduce that one though, so I wouldn't count it. Also it seemed like all your sound effects were vocal, and I thought that was a cool touch.

LD35 — Shapeshift

Ascent of Light by Rubel 2016-04-21T23:42:00

I love the graphics of this game! It's super cute, and just challenging enough! Awesome game!

Photagogue by ChuiGum 2016-04-23T20:50:00

I haven't beat it yet, but it's fun! I like that you've got more than a single attack animation. That keeps things fluid in a game with lots of punching. All I'd really recommend is making the dinos' attack telegraph a little bit more obvious. I had trouble telling when to jump in for a hit or move away a couple of times. Punching dinosaurs though; always a good time.

Glurge Purge by MiniBobbo 2016-04-21T22:16:00

I like the newer kind of take on a memory game, but it did get a little old pretty fast. Maybe having some music during game play or a different background for the different areas would have helped. It was fun, though!

Totem by Benjamin 2016-04-21T22:29:00

Love the graphics, and the interpretation of theme was great! It was fun to switch between the different animals! The sound was also really nice, though a little background music would have been good instead of just sounds for the different actions.

The Shapes of the Druid by BluShine 2016-04-21T23:26:00

I really hate puzzles, but this game was super fun! It was challenging, but in a good way, and the music was really nice. The graphics were also really great! Cool game!

Sheep Shift by Budda 2016-04-21T23:34:00

I didn't really think the theme was well represented, because there wasn't really any shape shifting, just wolves in costumes? But I really liked your audio, and the game was really fun to play!

I just want a taco by Garris 2016-04-19T04:04:00

I hadn't heard of Obake, but having looked it up, I see that they mention having taken inspiration from Kirby, which is the first thing I thought when the theme was announced.

Verdunfell by unit684 2016-04-21T23:05:00

I really love the graphics of your game! I was wishing the man moved as fast as the wolf, because I was more into his laser beam rather than the wolf's barky power. Good controls, though, and over all, I really liked it! Cool game!

In Artery by FurtherForm 2016-04-21T23:16:00

I enjoyed the audio and the graphics a lot, but it was a bit confusing, and once I did get it, it seemed my keyboard didn't always want to cooperate with me. Cool game, though!

Cube Shift by TriSquare 2016-04-23T21:39:00

Solid runner. I recommend making every play start with the slowly lowering ceiling as it almost immediately explains the mechanic, and gives you a moment to compose yourself before the game starts throwing death at you.

Were with Awwww by UncleChris 2016-04-21T22:57:00

I think the physics of this game were a little wacky, and disorienting at times. The graphics of your characters really weren't so great, but I did like the houses in the background! Some obstacles would have been very welcome, like maybe some dogs to chase the cat or something like that. Over all, there just wasn't really much to do, so it didn't really feel like a game.

Earthquake! by britzl 2016-04-21T23:12:00

I liked this game! It was really fun, and cute, but I was really really wishing to have some sound. I liked the art for the different animals! Super cute!

KIT and the 3 realms to Heaven by Catwheel 2016-04-23T21:35:00

Really beautiful game. Solid puzzle mechanics, and the platforming was pretty well done. I'd add variable jump height, and it would really make a couple places in this game less frustrating. Presentation is great for the time given, though. I'd love to see that post-jam version with more polish.

By The Light Of The Spire by Blobo 2016-04-23T21:04:00

I really like the concept, and Lequestrius' graphics are very nice. I did find the controls a little bit clunky in spots and it seemed like there were some wall sticking collision troubles in one jumping section, but the music kept me jamming, and the shapeshifting was fun!

ShmupShifter by TerraCottaFrog 2016-04-19T03:09:00

Disclaimer: I am very bad at shmups.
Solid game! I only barely got past the first boss, but I love how different enemies seemed to have vulnerabilities/exploits based on the forms. Good use of theme and mechanic!

Spamon by Sergioct 2016-04-21T22:48:00

I liked the audio, but the game play is pretty slow, and I was wishing for a little more variety in the graphics. I think it just could have used a little more excitement and fast paced combat, or more variety of enemy.

You're a Floor Lamp Now by blinry 2016-04-19T03:51:00

Being a floor lamp has opened my eyes to all of life's possibilities. Really though; fun concept that works *shock*ingly well (haha)

Geomorpher by teamross 2016-04-23T20:57:00

This game made me feel really good about myself xD Excellent arcade game. The controls are really easy to pick-up and your audio and graphics go really well together. Good job!

Relec Hunter by geekguy100 2016-04-20T07:41:00

Pretty functional little metroid-like. Like tentacode said I'd work in a little more animation, and maybe shorten a jump gap here and there to make some bits a little less pixel perfect, but you've got a good soundtrack and worms that die when you shoot them!

Soul Shifter by Tommyno222 2016-04-19T04:02:00

Presentation really knocks it out of the park with this one, and you've made a combat system with just enough elements to create some real depth. I found the vocal sound effects to be a little bit grating, but at the same time, they also gave the game a feel reminiscent of an old Gauntlet game. Does the game have an end? I played a few screens in and plan to go back for some more soon.

SpeedShape by Darenn 2016-04-23T21:11:00

That cloud will NOT stop judging me! I like how you freshened up the formula of a runner/helicopter game. The most frustrating thing about the genre is how quickly and randomly it seems you can die, and in your case, death is just a change of mode 2/3 times.

Soulshifter by toastedgames 2016-04-19T04:18:00

I don't understand the decision to make E the attack button while using WASD for movement. You might benefit from giving the option to use the arrow keys or switch attack to a different button. That said, the game kept me engaged through 10 waves so that's a plus! And your UI is pretty slick for a Ludum Dare game. I had fun :]

surfbaud.io by nhojrekrap 2016-04-21T23:09:00

I found it a little difficult to get very far because from the very beginning you are bombarded with sharks, and there's not really a clearing for you to get in the groove. But after you get over that fact, it's pleasantly challenging.

Dr. Epic: Final Battle by canblas 2016-04-21T22:51:00

I like your graphics and the audio is fun! Cool game!

After the 7th Day by okoto 2016-04-21T22:37:00

That was a really cute and fun game! I liked the theme interpretation, and the audio was really nice the way it changed as we grew more suspicious of our kitty monster. Awesome game!

Do-od by omlette.du.fromage 2016-04-21T22:24:00

I love the graphics and the audio of this game! And it was really really fun to play! I think it was a bit of a stretch for the theme, but I loved it anyway! Really fun game!

Rainbow Raiders by KristopherPeterson 2016-04-21T23:20:00

This game was really fun to play, and I loved the music and graphics. Nice way to stick with the theme and also have something fun and original! I really enjoyed your game!

LD37 — One room

BabyShooter by Sergeant_PL 2016-12-14T22:14:00

This game has nice sound, but I think it's a little too easy. The other baby doesn't try to attack at any point, so I could basically just pick whatever spot suited me and start chucking my bears at him.

Parts and Labor by Dynamic Panic Studios 2016-12-16T02:10:00

Your gameplay is solid and fun and the graphics and sound fit well together. The controls for the ladder climber felt a little sluggish, but I got used to it. Very fun game. Good job!

The Coffee Room by Rakart 2016-12-15T01:37:00

I haven't been able to reach the boss yet because the screen shake makes me a bit dizzy, but the knockback when hitting enemies feels pretty satisfying. I'd recommend adjusting the sprite origin for your attack pose. At the moment, it kind of looks like your feet move backwards when you punch. Adjusting the sprite origin would also probably give your punch just a little bit more range which I really think could help take away a bit of the frustration of getting hit by an enemy just as you punch. Still though, this is a fun, simple brawler. I like the setting and aesthetics, so I'd really like to see what you could do with a little more time and polish.

Christmas Time by Jon Reid 2016-12-14T21:39:00

This game surprised me! I have never seen a multi-windowed game like this! I managed to freeze it in the past when I sullied the beard with oil. Maybe I wasn't supposed to do that...but I had a lot of fun trying for all the different outcomes!

INSURANCE MAN, So you would like to make a claim? (SomeThing Different) by HeartOfTheFall 2016-12-17T02:33:00

To anyone playing, please stick it out and get to the ending. I honestly would have made the game a little bit shorter, because the ending was the touch that took this game to the "hah! wow!" level for me. The game crashed on launch for me once, but I think it may have just been a bug on my end because it's been stable since. If you continue developing this game, I highly recommend checking out "The Producers" and making your music sound something like the room full of accounts scene. Making this kind of a rhythm game to that kind of music would, I think, just be hilarious and really help add to the mood you've created. Good job!

One Cock at The Top by kn2322 2016-12-14T08:12:00

Concept and title are good for a giggle :] While I found the game a bit clunky in the controls, I did have a pretty good time with the first few rounds. The upgrades between rounds really help in keeping the player motivated. Also kudos on finishing a LD project without using Unity, Game Maker, or Construct. Really shows a passion for the process.

PacTwist by Prospero 2016-12-14T20:46:00

Loved the music in this game! It set a really cool mood and the game itself was simple, but clever. It was fun and I appreciated having more than one life!

zombie-tag by robert-barnhoorn 2016-12-16T01:53:00

It took me a while to figure out that the attack was only a knockback and the way to kill zombies was to push them into spikes or into pits. I love that. I can't get enough of environment based combat. I found the graphics a little inconsistent in terms of the sprites and environment fitting together, but I did like the character art, and the animations were cute. This is a fun concept and with some post-jam work, I would definitely come back to play more.

Snow Fort Defence by PotatoMasha 2016-12-17T03:45:00

The rapid snowball spawning was a blast and a half. I didn't really get the hang of actually killing enemies, so I made my own meta-game of trapping them with big snowballs. The game feels pretty unfinished, but I can see what you were going for. Aside from the controls being a little cumbersome (putting a little less controls entirely on the mouse by using a few different buttons could probably help) your system is pretty solid. I bet this could be a great defense game.

Unfinished Shaman Game Demo by alexmakovsky 2016-12-14T22:20:00

The graphics are really nice! It looks like if you had finished and managed to get an actual game going, it would have been really cool.

A Fortress Of Ash by C98k 2016-12-14T07:30:00

Congrats on your first time! A Fortress of Ash is pleasantly complete and functional for a first time entry. You did a great job of really creating a feeling of panic and pressure. Invoking feelings similar to a hopeless ship fire in FTL. That said, I found it a little bit too punishing to enjoy for long. A more controlled difficulty curve could really help out here.

My Son's Adventure by FlyingBokChoy 2016-12-14T21:04:00

I wasn't really sure if there was something I was working towards or if I was just supposed to keep giving my son what he asked for when he called...I was a little confused as to the end goal. It seemed to just go on and on with no end or indication that I was playing correctly.

Slumber Room by JackTheOgre 2016-12-15T02:27:00

Cute graphics and your resource management system with the light adds a good amount of suspense to the game. I found myself getting stuck on corners pretty frequently, but everything else seemed to work fine. I could see this being a truly addicting little action puzzler with a bit more polish.

Something to Hide by FuryAndMadness 2016-12-18T19:36:00

Your presentation is fantastic! I'm already picturing what a full scale version of this game could be. Like some kind of monster-themed, reverse ape escape. I do think a little more responsiveness on the controls could have helped the jam version. Movement was fine, but actions like shooting the dart gun or picking up and moving monsters felt a little stiff or slow. I won, though! Good game!

Pest Control by DoubtfulGames 2016-12-17T03:23:00

I had some issues with picking up weapons. The third weapon just wouldn't pick up for me no matter what I tried. Still though, the game made me giggle, and the move n shoot mechanics worked well. I had a good time!

BadRoom by MpowG 2016-12-16T02:01:00

BadRoom's presentation is excellent. Your graphics and sound are good, and I love love love the music. Gameplay was pretty basic, but it fit the concept well. It was a little buggy (I got stuck inside objects a couple of times) but the game's main loop is short enough that having to restart was a small irritation. Good job!

Save the relics by 60fingers 2016-12-14T07:40:00

Graphics and sound were very well done. I really like the game concept as well. You've taken the appeal of a puzzle game and given it the arcade element that dusty old quarter crusaders like me love.

Window Crawler by Chao 2016-12-18T08:41:00

Wow. This is cool. The concept itself pretty much carries the game. I would recommend some kind of soft mouse-lock maybe. I died a few times from accidentally clicking outside a window. And some tweaking on the difficulty curve because as a few have mentioned, it does seem really punishing up front, but man this is a refreshing idea. Good job!

The Wiggle Room by panurge 2016-12-14T22:33:00

This game was too much fun! I don't know why mixing models and chainsaws makes any sense, but it worked! I loved the little chainsaw noises and how you have multiple characters with their own unique descriptions. I played this many times and I greatly enjoyed it!

STEREOJO by ChuiGum 2016-12-14T07:50:00

A good walljump is hard to pull off. I really like the feel you've created with stererojo, and I think with a little more than compo time you could make the walljump feel just as fluid and silky-smooth as the rest of the game feels. I had a ton of fun with this and your puzzle element is one of the more refreshingly interesting things I've seen in a platformer in a while.

One Room Resort by MiniBobbo 2016-12-15T02:07:00

I picked up on how to play very quickly. Your first level being very forgiving while still showing the mechanics pretty wall was nicely done. However, I feel like it might have been just a little bit too simple. While it is a bit of a logistical challenge to keep everyone happy and awake, it feels a bit too much like just running a routine rather than planning and executing. Maybe some random events that can all of a sudden affect mood? (someone pees in the pool, injury on the tennis court, etc.) Having a panic moment to manage here and there could, I think make the routine of keeping everyone managed feel a lot more satisfying.

The Chore by cxsquared 2016-12-15T02:12:00

Good sequence puzzle. I only ever got the one ending, but I think I have an idea of what some other might be. I think a little more indication of what was done wrong or what was missed might help.

Heavens Inc. by komjaur 2016-12-15T01:50:00

Cool! I really like seeing interesting takes on the choose your own adventure/experience type game. We need more of these and this one was pretty fun. I occasionally found questions that just seemed like they had two wrong answers, and I didn't always understand or agree with the effects of my answers, but that's an issue that I'm sure could improve with more time and polish. Good work!

Elevator Panic! by Wefiends 2016-12-14T21:18:00

This was a really fun game, but I wish there were more reason to try to use the brake release button. There was no real hurry to get these people to their proper floor, so there was really no reason to risk using the brake release to get them there faster. I played this game for way too long! I couldn't stop! It was a little hypnotizing! Over all, I really liked it, but wish there were more consequences for being too slow.

Hotel One Room by runvs 2016-12-18T22:28:00

Your mechanics are solid. All the systems seem to work, and I had a good time building up my hotel and making money. I didn't feel particularly challenged though. Is there a lose condition? I think the biggest thing to add to really make this game shine would be a customer rating system. You could make it fun, too. Like maybe a fake Yelp with customer reviews procedurally written based on their room stats, and whatnot. Good game, good entry!

My Room by Gabe 2016-12-17T03:14:00

I don't really get it, but I feel like there's something underlying that I don't understand. There's a gripping feeling of mystery that encourages experimenting more than you might think for just a text entry game, though.

Ultra Violet Humanoids by seano 2016-12-18T09:06:00

I am won! This was a really fun little area fighter. Given the time constraints, I'd say it was executed very well. Things I'd like to see polished would be maybe some variation on attack animation, and either a block/dodge, or multiple different attack types so you can counter instead of just attacking at the same time as the enemy. Nice work!

I Clean Toilet by Flaterectomy 2016-12-15T02:21:00

I have never enjoyed cleaning toilets this much in my life. It was almost more fun to lose just so watch peoples' reactions.

ROOM by spacedoubt 2016-12-15T01:09:00

I love your camera system. I didn't manage to find the poster, but I think I probably could with a little more time into it after reading the hints. Music was very atmospheric and relaxing, and your sound effects were just the right amount of subtle. With more time for polish, you could make an awesome puzzle adventure out of this.

The Archwizard's Room by uheartbeast 2016-12-16T01:47:00

Very well done. I love the balance created by gaining magic back from kills. It really pushes you to plan your combat and use all your resources. I'm impressed by how polished this looks given the time constraint, and the sound and music fit well. I had to search comments to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong after I killed all the enemies, so I see that lack of win condition has already been mentioned. That's pretty much the only part I didn't thoroughly enjoy.

Snapped by karlipoppins 2016-12-15T01:23:00

I think this game could benefit a great deal from subtitles. The speech audio seems a tad quiet at times. Aside from that, this was haunting. You've created a creepy atmospheric experience with just a few pieces. I actually thought the walking animation, while a bit unusual, really added to the overall feeling of subtle discomfort the room is creating.

The last one standing by LeoM 2016-12-18T19:26:00

Seems like this would be a great party game, and that controller set-up looks like a hilariously good time. The game in its current state is pretty bland, but I can see what you were going for. I think going fully 2d probably would have let you take this as far as you wanted in the time given :]

Little Dreams by RockhopperGames 2016-12-18T22:00:00

Couldn't get anything to happen when clicking on the bed. However, the graphics are very nice, controls feel smooth, and I like all the little details in the room like the opening doors and drawers in the closet, and the stuff on the floor.

Final Boss by Karai17 2016-12-18T08:59:00

The presentation here is superb. Your graphics and audio for a 72 hour game are top-notch, and the atmosphere makes you excited right from the start. However, I found the controls to be pretty clunky and tough to work with. With some more time to bring the feel of the gameplay up to the same level as the presentation, you could have an excellent boss game.

Tamagogeek by dodormeur 2016-12-14T22:25:00

I wish there had been some music for this game, because it was a little stark without it. I liked all of the different options for how to change all of the bars.

Gogol by BeardyBard 2016-12-18T21:55:00

Appealing graphics and very nice aesthetic theme to the whole thing. I do think variable jump height in the controls would help a lot. Clearly a big chunk of the work here went into boss behavior, and it shows. The way the tentacle eye peeks out of the door before showing up was a very nice touch. With a little tweaking on the clunky feeling of the jump, this could a really great cratebox-like.

ShadowWall by Blobo 2016-12-25T04:33:00

That concept. The rotating room refresh is unlike anything I've played, and it was really interesting. I did find the feel of the controls to be a little bit awkward with having all the controls on one hand, and one-hit deaths may be just a little bit too harsh of a difficulty curve, but I really enjoyed my time with shadow wall. Good work!

I'M IN A BIT OF A PICKLE by j_peeba 2016-12-14T21:31:00

I liked the music, and this was a fun game! A pickle with legs was a little disconcerting haha! I almost wish the pickle was just bouncing around with no legs, because it would maybe have been less creepy, but then would the game still have the same charm? Maybe not. Fun game!

Dungeon Custodian by ursagames 2016-12-15T02:47:00

Very well done. Really the only thing this game lacks aside from the disband button already mentioned is polish. Excellent work for the time constraint. Please make a full version of this!

rotomanor by jelch 2016-12-14T22:41:00

This was a really good looking game! I wish there had been just a small bit more direction on which way to go to get to your different goals, and maybe less switches, because I was SO confused there for a minute. After I got used to the controls, it was really fun!

Bag of holding by kleinzach 2016-12-16T02:16:00

I probably would enjoy this more on a tablet or phone, but I played it on PC. Playing with the mouse feels a little funky, but it worked. This is a cool idea, but I think the basic mechanics of it need a little more depth to feel more like a challenge to overcome and less like a chore. Seeing the results of the items you move up is satisfying, but it started to get a little repetitive. I really liked it while I was playing to figure it out though!

Race-A-Room by Skoggy 2016-12-15T02:38:00

I am rubbish at racing games and this was no exception, but I still had a great deal of fun. I love that the car physics really make you feel like a toy car. It made this feel different from your average racer. I did have some issues with wall clipping and the occasional "car flips over for no apparent reason when I hit the brakes" instance, but this didn't really detract from my enjoyment. It mostly just made it feel more ridiculous. Nice work!

Goldoom by Peringo 2016-12-18T19:46:00

Good audio. Simple, but consistent graphics, tight controls. You even got a little story and set-up in there! This was fun :]

The One Room Experiment by Siegfried Croes 2016-12-15T02:58:00

Wow. Just wow. This is great. This game is an excellent example of knowing the limits of a gimmick. The very thing that makes this game interesting (the crane arms and room reset every time you go through a "door") could be come grating and annoying if the game were any longer, but the one room experiment has really struck the perfect balance.

I love it. The whole game feels deliciously arcadey and the puzzles are just challenging enough to be solved quickly with little to no frustration while still feeling satisfying. Your high contrast character and enemy art really makes the game fun to look at. My only complaint would be that the environment graphics look a little lackluster in comparison. I beat the whole thing and I might play again! Good job!

I found this game really hard to control. I wish the screen wouldn't move with the bear and instead just let you get up your blocks. That said, this game is SO cute. I love your bear, and the little fishes, and pretty much every visual aspect of this game.

I didn't want to stop playing this game, even though it was super hard! The fact that the kids can bounce each other out of their seats is hilarious, and challenging! I really wish there had been some kind of zaney music to go along with this, but it was fun even without it!
