Really wanted to give it a try but doesn't work on Mac OS 10.10
I must agree with DugelStudios, I have no Idea what happened there.
Oh man, you won me on the flies with chainsaw. hahaha. it was fun
Absolutely loved the pixel art and 8-bit music. The one thing that felt awkward is that when you hit a bird it doesn't fall, instead it stops moving completely! Great job anyways.
Great job on your first Ludum Dare game, may it be the first of many. The one thing that looked a bit off was the looping once you get to the "end" of the scene it goes back again. It looks a bit weird. Also, the can colliders are very unforgiving, you might want to decrease them a bit.
I'm assuming you're not coming from a game development background because the UI/UX is far from ideal.
Currently the game is:
1- spend 1 minute buying/waiting for resources
2- declare war on smallest empire, repeat.
Maybe that could be solved with an AI that reacts faster than the current, I'm not sure.
Interesting concept, though I think that the power bar takes way too long too charge. I'd like to see a post-jam version of it!
Does not work on Mac OS 10.10
Great humor and mood. I really enjoyed the story and the whole silliness of it. The only thing that put me off is that there's so much popping in the looping audio track. It might be just on my computer though it's unlikely.
Anyways, great great entry!
Oh my oh my. I think my brain melted after this one. Using the arrow keys to move in different directions than the usual is mind***ing. I'm not going to say I disliked it or the other way around, but I think it was a nice experiment. I'd definitely reduce the colliders size, it's a bit too unforgiving in my opinion.
Good job on the art and game concept!
Neat little game! There's a little problem with the difficulty ramping though. it goes from 0 to 100 in a split second. Great job, really like the audio and art style.
I think I can't play anything else after your game. It was visually stressful, particularly the main screen. Beware epileptics!
About the game itself, the shop randomized upgrade is a really interesting idea. I'd like to see that concept explorer on a post-jam, more polished game.
Really nice concept. I enjoyed playing the game quite a bit and found it quite challenging sometimes. The whole guardian thing at first and then knowing that your protege must also get some hits in order for both of you to succeed is really cool. I wish enemies animations were a bit fast though. Controls could also get better.
I really tried/wanted to understand the game but it was just way too much information at first. Games like this need a bit of on-boarding which can be really challenging for a game jam.
It took me quite some time to understand what was going on. I'm not sure the "Press up" "Press down" is enough. Once I understood the concept I found it really interesting. I'd like to see a post-jam version of it. Good job!
Looks like the links are broken!
but but but.. why? I could feel his pain.
2 little things:
1- ears look weird because they disconnect from body when pulling teeth
2- pressing down when pincer is on the bottom row, it's inverted.
I find it weird to vote on this. Does giving good scores mean I like torturing? haha. Good job!
Neat little game! The concept is really cool and I'd love to play it after you polish it a little more. The only thing I'd change is to give the player some points as reward when he goes to another wave. Great job nonetheless!
That was a neat little game. I liked the art and the concept. I also enjoyed how you tackled the jam's theme. One thing that really frustrated me was that pressing right moves the dragon left arm to the right. it was complete mindf****. Good job!
Oh man, you certainly made me remember the good old Lemmings day. Pretty cool little game, the monsters are related to the effect that they cause, which was nice. One thing that annoyed me was that the monsters bounce against each other which make things take longer than needed. Apart from that, job well done.
It looks like the game is procedurally generated which explains why it get's so hard so quick. It's pretty hard to pull off a balanced difficulty progression in the span of a jam. I really liked the tiny cops. The way they run away from you reminds me a bit of Jetpack Joyride.
Nice idea, needs more polishing, particularly on the difficulty ramping. Good job!
Interesting take on the theme. The gameplay was also pretty cool, making your opponents kill themselves. I don't really get why you need to press the SHIFT key to run faster though since there's no stamina bar/cooldown. It's just annoying to hold it at all times.
Neat little game! Good job!
Interesting concept but lots to improve there. What's the point in changing characters? If there's one it wasn't very clear.
The game was way too dark (apart from the guards flashlights, which was way too bright). The light model that you used for the flashlight didn't really match the art style. The movement of the NPCs felt a bit wrong, I can't really tell why.
Good job nonetheless. Stealth games are really hard to pull off. Keep polishing it!
interesting concept! i liked how you control the abducted people. I had a bug where it told me there was 1 human left though there was none.
One problem that I had is that the helicopter doesn't look threatening at all. I thought it would just help me kill the humans, but it actually killed me. Apart from that, really good job. I'd love to see that concept applied in a bigger game.
Nice game design concept there, I really liked it. One thing that annoyed me was that the walls don't block the cone of vision of the adventurers which makes the game a bit harder to play.
I'd love to see this game more polished. Great job :)
Nice intro, got me in the mood straight away. Nice music and art, although I experienced a lot of flickering on some sprites. Also liked how you tackled the theme, you're a monster to both zombies and humans.
I wish the combat would be a little bit less button mashing. I had to hit each zombies like 5 or more times. Also I don't see the point of opening the door with X and then Down to enter, why not just Down to open and enter?
I was sad when I saw there was no more game after you become a zombie :(
Good job, liked the game and had fun!
huh... that was a bit disturbing, hahaha. it's impressive how similar and completely different our games are at the same time.
i wish there was a bit more of gameplay to it, also I do not understand why all the babies clump up in a specific position of the map.
I had fun, good job :)
this was a very interesting take on the theme. I had quite a bit of fun! graphics are cool and also sound. I wished there was a bit more to gameplay because it gets tiring after a while. The beginning of each next subsequent wave is harder, but after the first crowd, it goes back to a slow paced game.
It was also a very forgiving type game, we could make mistakes, no upper/lower case distinction, no spacebar. Maybe instead of adding more words, you could make them harder by adding limitations like this.
Great job nonetheless. Had fun!
hahaha this was so much fun. love the art, story and audio. everything spot on! good job
Game was really cool! 5/5
I really liked the animations of the godzilla smashing the buildings, so cool! Good job!
I bet I'd have lot's of fun if I could only get what's happening there!
Mood, gfx and audio are spot on. I see some people have deciphered your game but it would be nice to have instructions. At least here in the description.
Good job nonetheless!
This was pretty cool! Really liked the shooting the window thing.
I wanted a funky background music loop!
Art is really good, a little bit of story in the notes.
One thing that I didn't really like was that you have to click on top of the thing you wanted to destroy. If you click in the same direction but farther, the bullet doesn't destroy/kill it, which is not really intuitive because it's just a bullet. This made the gameplay a bit clunky some times.
Great job nonetheless!
hahaha who said monsters need to be bad?
Great little game, lasted just as long as it should.
Nice job on art and music. Wish the gameplay was a tiny bit more complex.
Great job nonetheless! Pretty good for 1st game! :)
really neat game. liked the mood, art and audio.
Camera movement is a bit clunky when i change the movement direction. At one point I pressed escape because I got stuck. Then i pressed escape again, thinking it would return to game, but it took me to the main menu. I gave up on that point.
Great job nonetheless, would love to see what you could do with this game with more time.
hahahaha had lots of fun. I think that the wind changes waaaay too fast though.
Really liked how cute the animals looked like. I feel so bad!
Great job!
why no mac!! game looks so interesting!
I was having so much fun trying to avoid the other enemies, trying to get out of the maze only to find out that I can't, I have to kill them. The combat needs some more polishing and it wasn't as enjoyable.
Great job nonetheless, had fun!
I agree with other comments. The idea is quite nice but game is not that playable so far. i think it's worth to put some more work in it!
This was pretty cool. Impressive what you did in just 72 hours! Controls could use some polishing here and there. At first I was trying to kill every single cookie, it wasn't intuitive that I had to kill just the yellow since yellow and green look pretty much the same apart from colour.
Great job nonetheless!
ps. this is the second time i opened a game hosted in this website and it prompted me with an annoying advertisement. use some other hosting service that doesn't do that.
This was fun. It's interesting how all the monsters start completely aligned, as if it were a game of chess, and then it's just mayhem. I don't really see the point of using "Move" since "Attack" is more effective in every single way.
Would be nice to have a basic AI so we could play single player.
Great job nonetheless, I had fun!
this was an interesting little concept that i'd love to see more polished. Art was simple but good. Had some problems going from one planet to the other sometimes, the controls invert and it's not that intuitive.
I didn't really like the music, though.
Good job nonetheless! :)
Don't know what happened, but I couldn't open it on my mac. Gives me error: "The application “Nosferacula_build01.app” can’t be opened."
I didn't really understand what happened there. Every time i tried to play I got crushed really hard. I also didn't get what changes when the turn ticks.
Some UI would greatly improve it. The lack of story in the game doesn't help you to convey the theme of the game.
Good job nonetheless!
Such great mood and art style! Loved the parallax effect. I wish the gameplay and controls were just a bit tighter!.
Example:
1 - the player doesn't move with the platform, which is really weird in game standards!
2 - most of the times you dash right into another trap, though this is more level design related.
Great entry nonetheless. Good job!
Loved the art style and the theme is intriguing. Great mood.
Reeeealy missed sounds! :(
Nice entry, good job nonetheless!
Game was so pretty, but gameplay was a bit underwhelming.
I would love to see that visual on more polished mechanics. Great job nonetheless!
Super Meat BOOOOOY!
That was fun, but the beginning is a bit unfair. You should at least count down. If it starts with the button pressed down the player doesn't run until you release the key and press it again. I guess it was a bit too hard.
Also another thing that pissed me off is that it might happen that the player to go off the screen in the upper part sometimes during jump + collision.
It's more frustrating the hard I'm afraid. Couldn't see how it fits the theme either.
Great job for a jam nonetheless!!
Couldn't open the game on mac.
I'm sad I couldn't play, cause I'm on a mac.
I watched the video though and what amazing art. Is that Unreal? It gotta be.
Mood was good! Great job!
Wow, it got crazy really quick!
I like the concept but there are a couple of things that made gameplay less enjoyable:
1- there's no indication why i can't keep moving left/right. the monster suddenly stops after a certain spot
2 - some shots should clearly hit the targets but they don't. the opposite also happens some times.
Great job nonetheless!
Game looks so good, to bad i'm on a mac :(
That's Tibia right there. Gameplay was a bit clunky, i hope there would be hotkeys to use each skill.
Good job anyways, you certainly got the Tibia feeling there. Great job for a jam!
Can't get enough of them clickers! but it takes too long to buy stuff!!!!
Interesting concept and art style, reminds of atari games.
I think that it lasts for too long since you don't introduce any new mechanic.
Nice job nonetheless, liked it!
You had me hooked in the beginning but then it got too slow. It was just going from one point to the other with only few lines of dialogue,
I'd like to play this game with reacher story. Really liked the art style and mood overall! Good job!
I feel you @Cryptix!
Art was superb. Really solid and polished entry. Sound was also pretty good. Took me a while to understand that Z was the attack key, maybe put the controls on the description of the game?
Dying is really frustrating because it takes the player back to before the dialogue.
I'd like to the the gameplay more polished. Great job nonetheless!
huh, interesting take on the theme. wasn't expecting a monster in that sense.
Thought i was gonna play for 10 seconds but went all the way to the end. Really solid entry, amazing art, animation, particles. The sound was really in sync with game notes most of the time.
Good job!
Liked the art style and the main player animation is pretty cool.
I don't know if it was intended but the minimum amount that the player can move is really high. That make's it hard to go through some passages or to control the character properly at some times.
I don't know if it was design decision to make it look more like a puzzle or just poor control.
Good job anyways, i liked it quite a bit!
It's nearly impossible to look at the screen and at the bar that tells you what input to enter, made that bar should be on the top so you could see it better?
The speed ramps up a bit too fast, it's really hard at the beginning.
Didn't really see the connection with the theme though.
Track reminded me a bit of top gear haha. Good job!
I liked it, but i think it could be a little shorter for what it is. Good job though, I liked the art, the story and that you cam play the instrument with your creepy hands - nice touch.
it was interesting and... a bit disturbing ahaha
I think the dash is a bit too fast, because the light is very dim it's really easy to lose orientation.
Good job, I liked the blood voxel particles
haha you call this a game?
hahah this was fun. Liked how the tongue wobbled all over the place. Collision between tongue and flies could be better though!
Nice spin-off of a game that we all know. Good job!
The web isn't really web version, just another link to Windows.
Couldn't play it but good job, making a card game in a jam is not easy to do.
The minimalistic art doesn't help you portray the theme unfortunately. Even though it's just the beginning, I'd like to see it more polished. Good job for a jam!
Really liked the mood and the art.
Had a bit of problems interacting with stuff though. In the end I was just clicking everywhere until something happened.
Good job for a jam, would love to see it more polished.
Game looks really really good, too bad it doesn't play as good :( Couldn't really understand the camera control and it the game that looks really pretty from up above didn't look when zoomed. Good job for a game jam though!
Cool entry. Instead of most games, I felt empathy for the monster.
Nice graphics, music a bit repetitive though.
Good job!
ps Hahahaha the ending was very very very unexpected
It was interesting but there was something that is not that good for 2d platformers. You're relying only on acceleration, so if i'm stopped and press right, i barely move horizontally while jumping. that makes the game really harder and non intuitive.
Good job for a game jam!
I thought the game was loaded and clicked in the image *facepalm*
The soundtrack reminded me of Chrono Trigger and that's amazing. Really solid entry. Great graphics, great mood.
I was waiting to see how you'd turn the little boy into a monster and I was not disappointed. Intriguing!
Really solid entry. 1st impression, GTA I as a monster and it was pretty much that.
Really liked art style and the music was really good.
Things ramp up a bit too quickly though. Its binary, nothing's happening to OMFG WTH?
Had lots of problems running your game, I think you need some serious optimization on it. Took a really long time to download and once it got there it was barely playable, and i have an alright computer.
Couldn't really play it :(
hahaha i love the fact that the humans bounce against each other too. Very nice humour. Controls not that great though, felt as slippery as ice. It was fun anyways!
I think you had a major flaw on UI. the first button on the top is the one that doesn't help you at all. I kept trying to click it but i could not beat any of the Heroes.
Afterwards I understood that I had to spend my money on the other stuff first.
I didn't see any difficulty progression. I couldn't get to the point shown on the screenshot. Nice job though. Pretty cool for first game!
hahahah I love how silly this is. Exploding the poop in the litter box and the epic "Monster Agenda Complete" music. made me laugh quite a bit. Suited the theme very well. Good job!
When I saw a OS/X version I was expecting a .app, but it's just the web player version.
I liked the character art, reminded me a bit of Don't Starve. But the way you set the collision in the trees wasn't good at all. It should be in the trunk, it ruins completely the perspective.
Also there's a problem in the first "door" (the two boxes pushing part). If you push the 1st box a little bit down, it get's stuck, and you can't continue the game.
Good entry overall, nice mood.
All links are pointing to a Windows version if I'm not mistaken. Couldn't run on my Mac
Couldn't play on my mac. Says that the application can't be opened.
Took me almost 5 minutes to understand how to play the game, and once i did, it was actually neat. needs in-game instructions, it's really to hard to get it.
That was a very nice game! Some improvements, if I may:
- The big snake that comes from the walls. There's no way of knowing if you're damaging it or not. It would be nice if the snake flashed when you're damaging it.
- Sometimes, when I'm trying to avoid bullets, I "touch" the sidewalls and the player changes orientation and the controls get all messed up cause I wasn't expecting it. Perhaps make the hitbox with the walls smaller, i dunno.
Great job anyways, I really like the animations and the cell shading art style! Awesome!
Very interesting game. Awesome pixel art, animations and music.
Comments:
- The introduction of the game is a bit too long, perhaps there's a way of shorten it a little bit?
- It seems like the telephone deals are a little broken, I've got an offer of 0 gold for 4 of my iron which seems not a good deal at all.
-I think I'd like a more sad song to go along when u're deciding on someones life
Nonetheless an awesome entry for LD41, one of the best I've seen so far.
Very nice mood indeed. I love that you can turn off/on the lights detail. I wish there were more stuff in the room to interact with, though. Great job nonetheless. Very interesting approach to the theme
Nice mood and graphics. Since this is more of a virtual experience rather than a game I feel like the lack of music really hurts the entire experience. I'd like to see it with some awesome background music. But... what happened to the entire game on one screen?
Nice concept. I felt like sweeping my room but in a fun way.
A couple of comments though:
-I think that it gets too difficult a bit to quick.
-It's also very hard to control the character.
-One thing that really annoyed me though is when I was able to throw something in the lava and it spun right back to the platform! Perhaps just kill straight away any other block when they touch the lava
It's a nice proof of concept. There are still a lot to improve, especially regarding the UI/UX. This types of games are already quite slow, making the player drag and drop 4 squares every single time to attack causes it to be even slower. Keep on polishing it, could become a nice mobile game.
Having a hard time to find words for this game. But that's a good thing! The art, music and story create a great atmosphere. Really left an impression on me. Good job!
Awesome twist when it turns night. Great graphics and sound, too!
Cool setting and music :)
Good concept. Liked the aiming controls, even though they were confusing at first.
Really liked the adaptation of the theme. Also, nice twist on typical platformer controls.
Interesting concept, the simplistic art style suits the gameplay perfectly. Especially liked the quick and dynamic pacing of the game. Balancing is very unforgiving at the moment, though. A small indicator when gravity changes would be nice, too (e.g. some sound cue).
Awesome entry. The game is well flushed out, I can't believe that it even has save and load game. The art also is very impressive (props to the jumping animations particles) The screen wrapping on all sides was also a nice idea.
I like the setting and minimalistic art style. gameplay seems to be too minimalistic, though.
Very polished graphics and sound effects. Solid controls for a variety of game modes. Good job!
Pretty interesting but gets monotonous after the first thirty seconds. Nice setting though.
haha, had some fun in this crazy physics sandbox. Didn't really understand the purpose of the flies though.
Really liked the minimalist art style. Very nice outcome for 72 hours game jam
Wow, superb art! I'm not so sure about the gameplay though. It would be very nice to see this game with more polished mechanics! Keep working on it!
Really liked the art style. I had some problems understanding the controls though. Keep polishing, looks promising!
Graphics are very very nice. I think that the game starts way too hard. It would be nicer to have a slower start. The controls are not very intuitive though. Good job overall
Nice level design. Good idea. Nice job on the graphics.
Wow. Really appreciated the pixelated graphics. I felt like the gravity was a bit too low though. It would be nice if the player fell down faster. Nice job overall!
Had some fun but got bored after awhile. The graphics are simple but nice. Add more hazzards!
There's no end. But still had fun!
hahahah fun fun fun. so much fun. True story! I love when the guy flies!
Nice idea. The 3rd level killed me though, cause I knew what I had to do but it's just so boring to move all the squares to the position. Keep polishing it, the idea is good
Takes a while to get hold of the controls, but it gets fun after that. Nice job.
Nice cookie clicker. Art style is very pretty and awesome music too! I don't know why u removed those 2 categories for your entry. With some more polishing in the game balance I could spend some time clickin!
Nice idea, but the UI is not very intuitive
fun fun fun fun!
Such an amazing art style! Awesome. With some more polishing you could easily publish this to the mobile market!
:'( Could not get Dorothy to love me. I'm so sorry. Please fix that. Baby come back. ='(
With some extra polishing this could become a great game. I don't understand why you die when you touch the side of the walls though.
Nice start for a hockey game. Would've loved to see the finish game. Really like the Atari graphics!
It made us giggle a couple of times! Interest take on the theme.
It's very hard to get a TD working in 72 hours. Nice start!
Requires some polishing in the physics. The art style when the lights are turned down is very pretty. Nice idea though.
LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres (4)
Shipwrecked on Robot Island by Bitten Toast Games 2018-04-27T04:17:01Z ♥ 1
Great stuff as usual! It was quite fun dodging the enemies attacks, just wish there was a bit more on the offensive side, maybe a combo or different attacks.
Art was great and so was the music. Good job!
Type n' Jump by Richard N Silva 2018-04-25T19:07:32Z ♥ 2
Great presentation and use of the theme. but wow, incompatible indeed! I'm a lover of hard plaformers and the tight control is what drives that genre. One comment is that typing games usually have you typing different words to execute the same action. Typing the same word for each action is not much different than pressing a single button. LEFT is always the same as the arrow key left and so on.
Nice polish, music, art, aesthetic. Good job!
YOU LEFT ME. by Angela He 2018-04-24T07:52:02Z ♥ 1
Really unfortunate we also got stuck in the fridge, not sure if it's an intentional ending or not? Amazing graphics and mood overall! Agree with @Rayne, I'd like to see a finished game.
Rythm is Lava by egordorichev 2018-04-24T07:43:01Z ♥ 1
Great entry, everything fits so well together, music art and gameplay. Impressive level design, usually there's not much time left for that in a game jam, but you pulled it off. Really good game!
