I really enjoyed this as a nice original idea for a puzzle/defence/survival game. Visuals are simplistic but pretty and it took me a while to figure out what every effect did, but its good once you know what you are doing!
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD31 → Hex Defender

Interesting game! I lost quickly the first couple of times, but then I got the hang of it.
I won, but I felt like a cheated a little. I just found a spot where no enemies ever came, and I put my core there. Then I just sat back and watched the stuff go by for a while, and finally the victory screen came up.
The audio was nice, the right level of relaxing.
Oh, and toward the end I discovered I could click on a blue swirl I hadn't noticed before and then on my core and it shot little things that healed me... was that supposed to be central to my play? Once I lost most of my hexes it didn't seem like I could have won if I didn't find that safe spot nobody ever hit.
I took a screen shot of the safe spot in case that was not intended: http://i.imgur.com/Yxvpjmg.png
Once there I did nothing the rest of the game, but won.
Super pretty! Awesome artwork. Didn't quite get how to play, and was a little overwhelmed.

the visuals are nice and clean. i was confused what the defeat status was. a couple times i got defeat very quickly with the red hex still up and almost all white hexes still up. introducing new missiles at a slower pace would have helped me learn better, as right now it's very fast and confusing.
The game is really too difficult to get into. Also considering the rules and graphics are really abstract... The idea is neat though, I like the ambience and theme, but I hate the controls.
Interesting concept and aesthetic. But I'd like to have more options at the beggining to watch this game as fun.
Graphics are very very nice. I think that the game starts way too hard. It would be nicer to have a slower start. The controls are not very intuitive though. Good job overall
Strange concept with strange mecanics. Neat ++
Seems like it would be better if you could click and drag the turret piece to aim it
Nice game
The controls aren't very straightforward
