LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Age Of Asteroids by Wevel 2018-04-24T17:58:44Z

It took me some time to figure out how to play, but once I managed to understand the mechanics I could see a lot of potential on it. Even with simple graphics it has a Stracraf-like feel!

The lack of audio and tutorial hinders the overall experience, but it's totally understandable, since you did everything by yourself, which by the way it's impressive!!!

Congratulations on the project!

Last Stand by glimaleite 2018-05-15T12:30:08Z

At first I thought this game would be too complex for my taste but boy was I wrong! It has a really nice balance between risk and reward and I have played it for about 40 minutes without even noticing! I liked the little touch you added at the beginning, when you say the game is supposed to be hard. I feel it's important to communicate your intentions as the creative mind behind the project :)

The Beamer was such a nice feature! Very clever idea, it felt really useful during the gameplay.

Overall I didn't have trouble figuring out how to play and the control scheme felt natural. The ship speed and maneuverability are perfect! I have some feedbacks on what I feel that can be improved though:

- The first alien waves seems too strong, maybe you should consider increasing their power (attack, patterns and hp) progressively.

- After 5 minutes of gameplay a small bug occured and my ship kept dying randomly, even though I wasn't receiving any damage.

- A small audio feedback for damage received would be really helpful, specially when the player is multitasking.

Overall I had lots of fun and the gameplay feels really solid and polished. Congratulations on the entry!

Abraços da galera do sul do Brasil! :)

Flowdrive by Dustyroom 2018-05-01T18:58:30Z

The art style is really nice, I loved it. It's simple yet very funcional. The music is also pleasant and didn't feel repetitive. There is also a good sense of progression on the learning curve, well done!

My only complaint would be regarding the car controls. I was expecting it to be more responsive, especially during the curves, but maybe it's just a matter of getting used to it.

Great entry, congratulations on the project!

Remote Bot by Yngvarr 2018-04-25T23:48:32Z

Really liked the approach you took on your game! The art is very functional, yet simple enough to not distract the player.

Congratulations on the project!

Text-Gen Platformer by agentparsec 2018-04-24T11:43:11Z

Hey, small world! We made the same mix between Text-based games and platformer. Check it out: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/type-n-jump

I've tried the WebGL version and I wasn't affected by bugs :) Really nice work, congratulations dude!

Strategysphere by gamepopper 2018-05-01T18:52:03Z

Such an interesting choice of genre mix! I can see potential of this game as an actual board game. It feels well polished and the art is simple yet very functional!

My only complaint is about the game speed, I was expecting the game to be faster, to resemble more a traditional shmup.

Congratulations on the project!

Jeff From Accounting by Almax 2018-04-27T17:11:38Z

Wow, I really liked the concept! The visuals and presentation are just gorgeous! You guys nailed it, one of the best games I've played at LD41!

We also did a typing game (mixed with platformer), if you are interested you can check it at: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/type-n-jump

Congratulations on the project!

4F - Faith, Forests, Fire and Floods by KayZ 2018-04-24T13:19:05Z

“A group of settlers found a nice place to die and drowned” 10/10 Great job! I really liked it, specially the fire and flood mechanics. It has a type of dark humor that is essential for a God game :)

We are looking for feedbacks for our entry, “Type ‘n Jump”. Please consider checking it out too :) https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/type-n-jump

Wreckless Rally by Flaterectomy 2018-04-24T12:17:26Z

The visuals are simply amazing! Really liked the concept, the "look and feel" and the controls. Think about making a full mobile version, this game has potential, guys! :)

Hot Meals by Thygrrr 2018-04-25T18:26:18Z

Great job guys! It really seems that you manage to keep a realistic scope, the game looks really polished. Like you suggested on the information about the game, it really shines when played with 2 players. My friend and I had good laughs during our play session.

There are good references (especially the PUBG one) and it plays just like a party game.

I had trouble controlling the car though, it keept rolling over and over again, so I would suggest to add more "weight" to the cars. I have noticed a small typo on the Checkpoint flag too, but maybe it could be intentional too just for the sake of the joke :)

Congratulations on the project!

Soccer Racing by reuno 2018-04-24T11:50:39Z

The controls could have some tweeks but overall I loved both the concept and the visuals! Really good job!

We are looking for feedbacks for our entry, "Type 'n Jump". Please consider checking it out too :) https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/type-n-jump

FishOut by auxC 2018-05-01T18:32:08Z

Really nice concept! I can totally see this as one minigame from a post-apocalyptic themed party game full of other minigames! The art is really polished and the gameplay feels really solid. Unfortunately I couldn't test it against another human player, but I can see the potential of fun there is on a 1v1 duel against a friend :)

Great job!

CONFESSIONAL by Rodrigo DenĂșbila 2018-04-24T17:01:17Z

Really nice concept. I always wondered what a "second person" game would look like and this is the closest I can think of. Awesome visuals, the game is really polished. The audio could improve a little bit though, to make the experience more unique. Also, the framerate was very stable on my browser, nice job!

Congratulations, the final resuls is impressive!

Flatformer by Nick Rafalski 2018-04-26T00:00:40Z

Man, I really really reaaaally liked the mix you made between those genres. I haven't seen any other game with that premise. Congratulations on that!

Also, the audio is super fun, there is something about mouth sounds that really gets me everytime.

My only critique is regarding the jumps, since it took me some time to figure out which jumps would be able to reach specifics platforms. Overall your scope seems very good and the gameplay has lots of potential.

Congratulations!

Winning Condition by Yondermore 2018-05-03T12:27:14Z

Hey, this game is one lost gem I found!

I am winner #16, I'm proud of myself. Congratulations on the entry, I enjoyed it and also learned about toothpastes :)

Jump N' Shoot Man Ludum Dare 41 by jessefreeman 2018-05-03T23:20:32Z

Awesome graphics and sounds, I loved them. The control scheme could be improved tough, if feels strange to restart pressing 'A' instead of 'R' for example.

Congratulations on the project!

Super Bass Racing by isaaclopinho 2018-04-25T23:51:15Z

I've played with my girlfriend and we had a blast! Such a fun experience. You should definitely work on an official release, it's a very good party game!

Congratulations on the project.

Schankboi by lexi 2018-04-24T11:32:42Z

Nice job! I really liked the controls and the visuals! My suggestion would be to rebalance the times, making them a little slower :)

A Quest for the Musical Fruit by johnnysix 2018-05-01T19:35:22Z

Event though the game isn't finished I can see lots of potential here. The animations are smooth and juicy, the sound effects are pleasant to hear and the control feels just right. Wish I could see more of the content, but I understand that time was short.

Congratulations on the entry!

Ballistic Skylines by invader 2018-05-07T13:02:07Z

Nice concept! I've played the post-jam version and I can say that the game pace didn't bother me at all. I think it lets the player to explore and understand what is going on, so there is a lot of space (no puns intended) to try new things and to explore.

I used Shift a lot, it makes things waaaay easier, really nice touch by adding this command in the game!

Lastly, I liked the visual feedbacks the players receives as the city starts growing, like more cars flying over. It's subtle, but adds up to the atmosphere.

Congratulations on the entry, you have managed to create a fun game, with a good scope and a nice level of polish!

Combo Maker by TheMadPangolin 2018-04-25T23:53:59Z

Really good use of the theme! The art is super cute, I liked it a lot! The sound feedbacks are a little bit distracting, but nothing game-breaking. Overall the gameplay is smooth and really well done. Congratulations on the project!

Platform Hero by Rombus 2018-04-24T20:42:51Z

Really liked your artstyle, simple and functional. I have encontered some collision issues on level 2 (top platforms) but nothing game breaking.

I would suggest to add a timer before the player turn. Right now it starts really fast, and it's easy to miss the first movement. Overall I liked the theme, and it seems that you managed to keep your scope very realistic, since the game feels polished :)

Congratulations on the project!

We are looking for feedbacks for our entry, “Type ‘n Jump”. Please consider checking it out too :) https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/type-n-jump

Lost Without You by jackrugile 2018-05-01T19:20:39Z

Good concept! The idea has potential for a deeper experience, something like "Thomas was alone" meets "Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons". The sound design helps to set the mood, really well done. The gameplay, yet simple is very polished and well done. It seems that your project scope was very well managed.

Congratulations on the entry!

Goal Defense by Mau 2018-05-01T19:15:39Z

Nice idea, but the goalkeeper could be a little bit faster :) I really liked that you inteded on purpose to make the game hard and sticked with your vision. That's something that requires a lot of confidence from the designer, so congratulations on that too.

Good job!

Witchbeat by dragonxvi 2018-05-04T19:43:21Z

Amazing entry! So far, one of my favourites of this jam. Both the music, gameplay and graphics (I am a fan of Pico-8 graphics) were greatly done! Congratulations on the game!

Plane Fishing by Belga54 2018-04-28T11:51:17Z

Hi @belga54, I'm one of the devs of Typing 'n Run, alongside Eduardo. Did you see someone else claiming to be the dev of our game? If so, would you mind sharing more info?

I'm asking you because you have commented on our entry. Here's the link:

https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/type-n-jump

Thanks!

Plane Fishing by Belga54 2018-04-28T18:43:14Z

@Belga54 Thanks for the information! And by the way, congratulations on your entry. Tha gameplay is smooth and athe sound effects are pleasant to hear. The fish with big teeths is my favourite one. Really well done, keep the good work!

Chungholio Tower by SlimothyJ 2018-04-24T11:55:14Z

I really liked the controls, it feels lime Quake (the classic). Maybe it was my pc that was slowing down things a bit but I feel that the pace could me even faster :)

Awesome job overall!

We are looking for feedbacks for our entry, “Type ‘n Jump”. Please consider checking it out too :) https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/type-n-jump

Dance Fu by MicDoes 2018-05-03T00:08:10Z

Nice idea! The gameplay has potential but consider introducing the gameplay mechanics little by little to the player. When I started the game I felt a little bit overwhelmed by the rhythm :)

Keep up the good work, congratulations!

Beat Em Shmup by CaptainDreamcast 2018-04-26T00:13:35Z

At first I was like "That's strange, this game seems like just like a Shoot 'em up game, where is the twist", but then I puched a ball and everything made sense!

Nice approach! It really changes what you expect from a shoot'em up. Instead of dodging the bullets I found myself going straight to them!

Good work!

PS1: I couldn't help to notice on your profile that you also code for Dreamcast. Is that so? I didn't know there were people still doing this kind of thing! Incredible!

PS2: Your world record on Type 'n Run was beat... The new record is 83 commands and I don't even know how this is possible!

From the Breach by erebus 2018-05-01T18:35:45Z

Nice job guys! At first I had trouble controlling the car, it felt too slippery, but after some minutes I got used to it. Congratulations on the entry, team!

Graveyard dates by Adrien Dittrick 2018-05-01T19:26:03Z

Nice concept! I felt multitasking exactly like I do in real life when I am playing and texting my girlfriend!

The platforming is really solid and it feels nice both to attack and shoot the enemies. Congratulations on the entry, great project!

ACCIDENTAL EXISTENTIAL by slovnoslomo 2018-05-03T17:00:59Z

This is one of my favourite entries so far!

Jing & Jang delivery Co. by Sanguis 2018-05-01T18:46:41Z

Nice concept! I really liked the art sytle and the music. The gameplay is easy to understand but hard to master! It's interesting how such a simple chance of pace due to character transition can have such a huge impact on the difficulty!

Great job, congratulation on the project!

Rhythm Jump by _benhumphries 2018-04-25T23:49:46Z

I really liked the music! I found the first level to be the hardest one. Great game, congratulations on the project.

'Meme'bumps by Chetan pant 2018-05-02T16:58:14Z

I really liked the concept but I couldn't play it very much because I have problems with jumpscares, but that's just a personal taste :) The atmosphere was really well done, the music helps a lot to set the tone. The graphics are very functional as well.

Congratulations on the project guys, keep up the good work :)

Super Slime Slasher Ultra by sebastianscaini 2018-05-03T00:02:41Z

That was a really nice game! I wasn't expecting a voice-over, that was a pleasant surprise too!

The graphics are super cute, the sound effects and feedbacks are juicy and the game is polished. You guys did managed to nail the project scope! The mouse controls were not so precise but I get it that the intention was to play it on a controller.

Congratulations on the entry, one of the best games I've played at this Ludum Dare!

Last Girl On Earth by Reality Blind 2018-05-01T18:27:52Z

Finally I've played it! Smooth animations, great feedbacks and solid gameplay. That's one of the best LD entries I've played so far. I really liked the "juiciness" of the game, like how everything has a feedback and the screenshakes.

Really nice job, congratulations!

Bomb In Rhythm by finalspace 2018-05-01T19:12:09Z

First of all, congratulations on the project!

I was expecting something totally different, but gladly I was wrong. You managed to address such a sensitive topic with beauty, respect and delicacy. The music is gorgeous, and contrast really well with the bomb-related sound effects.

Amazing experience, great job, loved it!

Lost in Spacetime by zeMenno 2018-05-03T11:51:47Z

Great job on your first jam! You should be proud!

What I liked the most about the game was the ship maneuverability, it feels natural and it is enjoyable to navigate through the map, which is something important in a dungeon crawler. The shooting pace, both for your ship and the enemies is nice too, not too fast or too slow.

What I think you can improve in your next game or update: The control scheme is a little bit confusing right now for my taste, since I can turn my ship with the arrow keys but I can't move forward pressing the up arrow. But hey, maybe you just forgot to put another statement on the movement script (those kind of mistakes happen). Another issue I've faced regarding the control scheme is that I can only shoot using the mouse and my first intuition was to use the "space bar" to shoot. Maybe you could give more options for the player, or let them choose the control scheme.

Overall it was a nice game, the idea is very interesting and the exploration of the map feels natural. Congratulations on the entry and keep up the good work!

One-Sec Bullet-Hell by rainysolar 2018-04-24T18:34:34Z

Loved the concept! At first I was confused but after trying a little bit it was so much fun! The visuals, despite being simple, are very functional. There's something appealing regarding geometric shapes shooting things :)

The game is indeed hard but it didn't feel unfair. I couldn't get past 300 points but I think it's just a matter of practice. As others pointed, amazing work of the theme.

Lastly, I would suggest you to include credits inside the game, so others can find your previous works more easily.

Congratulations on the project!

Flower Hero by Curt 2018-04-26T23:34:14Z

I really liked the visuals of the game! Once you get into the flow of the beat things go smoothly! My only nitpick would be on the music itself, I felt that the highs were way too loud. Fortunately you set an volume option inside the game, so it was not something that has disturbed that much my game experience.

The game was not that hard and was quite balanced to be honest :)

Congratulations on the project!

I'm Just Cuming by DesertHawK 2018-05-03T22:57:03Z

Not my type of humor but I can see what you did there :) The controls are responsive and the game itself is functional.

RTSChess by Kylman123 2018-05-03T23:03:59Z

I liked the idea, mainly the fact that it is not turn based like regular chess. Don't forget to add a feedback for the player, whenever he chooses a piece. It will help to make the gameplay feels smooth :) Congratulations on the entry!

Wrong Priorities by Bela Bohlender 2018-05-02T20:40:52Z

Nice atmosphere! You really tried to innovate, choosing to make a VR game at Ludum Dare! It was very spooky indeed, you really nailed it.

The art is simple yet very functional. My only nitpick would be that the ceiling height felt a little bit too low. Great entry, congratulations!

By the way, here's our entry, if you are interested:

https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/type-n-jump

We made an text-based platformer :)

Click for Speed by Borodar 2018-04-25T13:51:20Z

Really gorgeous artstyle! I felt that the game should be a little fast-paced though.

And lastly, I know that the audio is not being rated but the volume was a little bit loud for my tast. Congratulations on the project!

Change of Pace by DoctorMozart 2018-05-03T23:24:52Z

Hahaha that was the best mix of genres I have seen so far! Such a pleasant surprise! I really liked the concept, the humor, the mood and the artsyle!

Really clever idea, congratulations on the entry!

KEYBOARD WARRIOR by croewens 2018-04-26T23:37:32Z

I really liked the controls, I was expecting something way "heavier" to control but it was quite functional and precise.

I liked the color choices too :)

The UI texts fades way too fast sometimes, but that's far from game-breaking. Nice job!!!

Dead man's hand by ItPlay 2018-05-02T23:42:30Z

That game was a pleasant surprise! It feels polished and also has great potential.

I like how the more stuff you carry, the less freedom of movement you will also have available, due to less movement cards in your hand.

I have faced 3 minor problems while playing though:

1- When I click a card, this card is used automatically. That means that the player can't change his mind after clicking a card.

2- I can use a card even when it's impossible to use it. For example, I can use a Search card even if I am far away from a searchable object. The same applies to melee attacks.

3- When a zombie touched me, it my character was pushed outside its grid, making it disaligned with the rest of the world.

Anyway, the game was really fun to play, the atmosphere was done just right and the grid feedback was very responsive and functional.

Congratulations on the entry!

Here's our game if you are interested, we made an text-based platformer:

12Slash by Nikaoto 2018-05-01T19:05:12Z

Nice concept! I was hoping to see more gameplay-changing objects like traps or other types of enemies, but I can totally understand that the time was short.

The confirmation sound feedback is a little bit too loud for my taste, but that's just a small nitpick.

I really liked the game pace and the look and feel! There's definitely potential there!

Congratulations on the project!

Speed Shooter by spenn 2018-05-01T19:31:18Z

Nice concept, but the difficulty is way high right now :)

Congratulations on the project!

RogueFarm by jmw327 2018-05-02T23:50:57Z

This entry has one of the cutest graphics I have seen in this Ludum Dare! The music helps set the atmosphere too! Overall it is incredible the ammount of work you done in 72 hours.

The gameplay feels nice and sometimes I felt almost like dancing with the enemies, trying to hit and not take a hit (which was super nice) :)

My only 2 nitpicks would be that the enemy attack (when he hits you) is lacking a better feedback and also that I wasn't able to restar the game after the game over screen, so I had to refresh the itch.io page.

Great entry though, congratulations on the project!

We made an text-based platformer, if you are interested here's our link: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/type-n-jump

MiniGame Racing by Deprecat 2018-04-25T14:54:07Z

Had so much fun playing it! It is really challenging and it could be used for a more serious topic like text and driving. Even though the art is simple, it is really functional.

Great work, congratulations on the project!

Type n' Jump by Richard N Silva 2018-04-24T11:45:20Z

Thanks for the feedback @finntastico! We put a lot of effort on the look and feel of the game :) We are glad you liked it!

Type n' Jump by Richard N Silva 2018-04-24T16:21:25Z

Thanks for the feedback @Wevel! I wish we had more levels too but our schedule was tight so we decided to keep the scope small to preserve quality.

About the mispellings, our goal since the beginning of this project was to avoid player frustration caused by our chosen input method. So, based on our own typos, we created a list of acceptable mistakes. The original idea was to have a kind of health bar that would decrease whenever you mispelled something, but again, due to scope we chose to discard this idea. Honestly, looking back now, I'm glad we did it :)

Type n' Jump by Richard N Silva 2018-04-24T17:18:41Z

@rainysolar Thanks for the feedback! We tried to balance between challenge and frustration. Hope you had fun playing our game!

Type n' Jump by Richard N Silva 2018-04-25T11:41:39Z

@agentparsec Thanks for the feedback!

@Eudes Franco Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, we are not 100% satisfied with the audio as well but we didn't have a "sound guy" on the team so we had to improvise :) 198 commands it's actually really good for a first run. Our current record is 96 commands, but since we are the developers we don't count :) The current record from a user is 140 commands.

@Yozamu We tried to keep challenges and frustration in balance :) We hope you had fun during your play session! Thanks for the feedback!

@Rodrigo DenĂșbila Thanks for the feedback! I've played your game as well and it's really polished! I left you a more complete feedback on your entry page. Good job!

Type n' Jump by Richard N Silva 2018-04-25T16:31:04Z

@Yngvarr Thanks for the feedback! I see you did a game with a similar idea too! Will play it soon and leave you a feedback too. We're glad you liked!

@benhumphries Thank you! We're flattered by your comment, it really meant a lot to us. There are so many great games on LD41 and to be compared with the best ones is really meaningfull. Thanks for that, we're glad you had fun! Help us spread the word and get those 20 ratings!

@isaaclopinho Thanks for the feedback, we'll check it for sure!

@TheMadPangolin Thank you for the feedback! We are not 100% satisfied with the music either, but since we had no much time we had to improvise a lot :)

@Nick Rafalski Thank you very much for your feedback! We don't have words to describe what it feels like to be compared to the best games at Ludum Dare. We did our best to deliver a pleasant experience and a fun game. We are glad you liked :) About the timing, we are currently reviewing some choke points were players have more trouble getting through. Lastly, help us spread the word and get those 20 ratings!

@CaptainDreamcast Thank you very much for your feedback! You are currently holding the commands world record on Type 'n Jump, congratulations! The previous record was 114 moves from a friend of mine and as one of the developers my record was 96! So you beat us at our own game, congratulations! :)

Type n' Jump by Richard N Silva 2018-04-25T17:43:33Z

Type n' Jump by Richard N Silva 2018-04-25T23:35:08Z

@Flaterectomy Thanks for your feedback! Your performance was above the average! Most players finish the game in 10 minutes and over 200 commands! Hope you had fun during your play session!

@croewens Thanks for droping by! I'll check out your game too, I see you took a different approach and I'm curious to try it!

@caspila Thanks for the feedback! We're figuring out how to rebalance some things and let the gameplay as smooth as possible, but yet keeping the platforming interesting!

@Reality-Blind Thank you for the feedback! Hope you had fun during your playtime. We'll check out your game later too!

@aux Thanks for reaching out! Hope you still like us after those raging moments :) We're glad you liked our game!

@Bernardex New World Record! Hey @CaptainDreamcast, **HERE COMES A NEW CHALLENGER!**

@Deprecat Thanks for the feedback and thanks for noticing those design-related stuff. We put a lot of effort on this topic, in order to avoid player frustration due to our unusual input system. There are lots of things that are easy to miss when you get through but if those same things weren't there the player would definitely notice, like you mentioned. Hope you had a great time during your playtime!

Type n' Jump by Richard N Silva 2018-04-25T23:37:05Z

@erebus Thanks for the feedback! We hope you had a fun time during your playtime!

Type n' Jump by Richard N Silva 2018-04-26T16:31:10Z

@TomPK7 Thanks for the feedback! We are working on some small bug fixes and we plan to add more funcionality to our commands due to many requests, like "turn left" or "jump right" :)

@jin9310 Thanks for the feedback! We hope you had a good time during your play session!

@gamepopper Actually there is an STOP command but we see that many players finish the game without noticing it. The good news is that we are working on that and we plan to add other commands like "turn" or "jump right". Thanks for your feedback, we hope you had a good time playing our game! :)

@Dustyroom Thanks for your feedback! That's an interesting feature we did consider to add but in the end it didn't make into our scope. Since the level is fairly small we didn't consider it essencial for a full playthrough, so we had to discard it. But in a "full" version we would definitely add it. We hope you had fun with our game! :)

Type n' Jump by Richard N Silva 2018-04-27T12:27:27Z

@Nikaoto Great feedback, thanks! We're glad that you enjoyed our game :) We tried our best to avoid player frustration, so I guess your feedback is a good sign that we are on the right track!

@rombus Thanks for the feedback! We're working on some small improvements on the controls :)

@finalspace @Mau Thanks for the feedback!

@jackrugile Thanks for the feedback! We tried to come up with a game that was challenging yet fair :) We hope you had fun during your play session. We totally agree with you about the music. We don't have a music/sound guy on the team so we had to improvise with our limited knowledge on sound design.

@BlakeMcDeezy Nice to hear that! That's something that usually happens and we're glad players are having this kind of situations of "almost dying but managed to type on the last second". We hope you had a good time during your play session!

We tried to balance challenges and frustration in order to create a smooth learning curve. We hope you guys could enjoy it :)

Regarding the music and sound effects, we totally agree that those are not our strongest points, but since we didn't have a "sound guy" on our team, we had to improvise. We hope our players understand that limitation :)

Thank you again for all the constructive commentaries!

@soylalluvia @lexi @ElGregos @Ruslana Thank you for all the feedbacks! We hope you had fun playing Type 'n Jump

@D-Studios Thanks for the feedbacks! We tried our best to focus on the level design, it was our number 1 priority during the jam and we're glad you liked it. Our rule of thumb while designing the level layout was to introduce new mechanics, train the player and add a checkpoint. Repeat over and over again, introducing slightly more difficult challenges. And lots of gametest too :) We hope you had fun!

@eToThePi-i **Wow, we have a new WORLD RECORD!** Congratulations on your run! And mostly, thanks for your feedbacks! We considered adding those types of commands but in the end we had to left them out of the scope of the project due to the jam time limitation. I totally agree with the music being too repetitive, specially if you play the game over and over again, but we didn't have a sound guy on the team so we had to improvise, unfortunately. Regarding the url bug, we have identified what is causing it! Thanks for the report! We hope you had fun playing our game and thanks again for the feedback!

@invader Thanks for the feedback! During development's brainstorm phase we thought about the possibility of giving a series of commands for the robot but we decided to stick with one command at time for two reasons:

1. We wanted to focus more on the platform part of the game, so precision and agility should be the main type of challenge.

2. I've played Quadrilateral Cowboy (a great game btw) and it has this type of mechanic but I didn't want to use it in Type 'n Jump. Even though I like the concept, it gets complicated really fast for my taste and I would have to wrap my head around to create interesting level designs. Due to the time restraints, we decided to take a more conservative approach, with something we had more experience, in favor of quality.

Thank you very much for playing our game and taking your time to leave us a feedback, we really appreciate it! We hope you had fun during your playtime! Btw, take a look at [Quadrilateral Cowboy](https://store.steampowered.com/app/240440/Quadrilateral_Cowboy/) if you don't know it, you are problably going to like it :)

@Kanacell Thanks for the feedback! We hope you had fun playing our game!

@eToThePi-i It should be fixed now :)

@lexi Hey, that's amazing! I see you have posted a new screenshot at the post we made with 70 commands in 01:42. Can you post it here too?

@elHombreBanana @Ratherjolly Thanks for the feedbacks! We hope you guys enjoyed our game! :)

@eToThePi-i Wow, you nailed it again! I've just updated the world records. Very interesting strategies! Congratulations again!

Type n' Jump by Richard N Silva 2018-05-11T01:53:24Z

@eToThePi-i Yes, it is intentional in order to mantain the registry of the older posts and also because Ludum Dare posts feed is quite non-user friendly, so it's easier to create a new post to spread the news to other people :)

@goffmog @Corbak @Flatterp @celmer89 @tamara188 @Gizmolo Thanks for the feedbacks! We hope you had fun playing our game :)

@flying-cat-of-the-pepes Thanks for the feedback! Regarding your question, we added a small list of the most frequent typos we had during our game test but some variations may have gone undetected by our checking due to the jam deadline pressure :)

@Ethan-Kennerly Thanks for the feedback! We are still figuring our next steps, we'll see how it goes :) We hope you had fun during your play session!

Type n' Jump by Richard N Silva 2018-05-15T12:44:03Z

@glimaleite Obrigado pelos feedbacks! Deixei minhas impressÔes no seu jogo também :) Abraços do sul do Brasil!

@Ava-Skoog Thanks for the feedbacks! Indeed, we added some new commands post-jam (Turn, Jump Right, Jump Left) due to several feedbacks :) Regarding the audio, that's where we had most trouble, since neither me or Eduardo (the game programmer) have experience with sound design, so we had to improvise and the end result wasn't as satisfying as we wanted it to be. We totally agree with you.

@MestreRothLD Thanks for the feedback! We wanted to add easter eggs like typing "Finish" to finish the level or jokes whenever the player typed "bad words" but the time was against us and we didn't manage to fit them on our schedule :)

@maysick @Merlin-d Thanks for the feedback! We hope you guys enjoyed playing our game :)

Dungeon Typist by the_noffs 2018-05-02T23:27:13Z

Really nice concept! I liked the art style, very retro but still polished. The feedbacks are well done too, but I couldn't help to notice that the text sometimes is "inside" objects, like when you try to open the door, causing a flickering effect.

Another interesting aspect of the game is the exploration. The environment feels mysterious yet threatening.

Congratulations on the project!

We also did a game using typing mechanics. If you are interested you can check it at https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/type-n-jump

Super Golf Zombie Survival 2018 by tokkiseul 2018-04-26T23:51:13Z

I really liked the art style! Those zombie icons and the UI are super cute! I don't know if there was some problem with my browser or something but I couldn't hear any audio.

Overall I had a good ammount of fun, the gameplay is quite challenging sometimes.

Good work, congratulations!

Witch's Escape by cristiano.m.garcia 2018-05-04T14:32:04Z

Great concept and mix of themes! I liked the art style, it has a personality of its own. I had problems with the audio though, it didn't play any sound whatsoever, even after refreshing the page (I'm using Chrome btw).

I would suggest to add a mana bar or some kind of limitation on the spell usage, since I kept spaming the spells over and over again and destroyed the obstacles for about 8 minutes, before they even appear at the screen.

Leaving aside this "exploit" it has lots of potential, it can be tricky sometimes to react fast enough. I've got some Temple Run vibes :)

Congratulations on the project! Great entry!

Adventure Pong by TomPK7 2018-05-01T18:42:16Z

Nice concept! I got a sense of urgency seeing the text going up fast and that's something I would also get while playing Pong, so I think that's some great achievement there!

I see potential in this idea, maybe on a Visual Novel environment, with a setting like the "Prince of Tennis" anime or something like that.

Congratulations on the project!
