Way cool. My crappy typing skills hurt me a bit but I was able to finish the game.

Holy crap, I never thought I could hate ssh... :sob:
Great job, the ASCII-artish graphics is lovely, the sound fits, awesome mood.
@swarrly, thank you! I didn't test it much with other people, so I'm glad to read the game is not impossible.
@mshopf, well, I hate ssh every time the connection is lost even when it's something else's fault. =D Thank you for the feedback!
I love this idea! It is pretty hard, but very satisfying to finally complete a level! Awesomely done!
Really fun game, made me feel like a hacker typing all those commands :) Climbing stairs was a challenge though since you need to type alot of stuff fast and stop and the right time. Reminds me of old MUD games a bit, great stuff!
Super cool entry, I  the terminal as control input, good mix of platformer & command line, the game is challenging but well balanced with a good level design, the graphics & sounds re-enforce properly the game style, everything being well integrated. You could constantly display a small reminder for the help command, it's pretty expected when you're used to use a terminal but it can be a bit disturbing at the beginning. Very good job
Whoa, Somehow I messed up my comment, lets fix that up:
Great work. Graphics are stylish, game plays well, and it's challenging, concept is cool too.
I think you'd benefit a lot of a more carefully crafted level design. You can make your game itself teach the player how to play by making the challenges progressively more difficult and leading the players into what they are supposed to do (like the first ladder, there's no reason for it not to be on the end of the corridor xD)
Good job!
@nidup, oh, thank you for the warm words!
@gustavo-manchae, thanks for a suggestion! I didn't think of this approach to difficulty control.
I love the art for this, it feels like a hacking sim but with this awesome ASCII platformer interface on the top. Very dear to my heart. Great job on this.
Pretty funny to watch, not so fun to play. I like the ideas but way too frustrating for me
When I tried to start the game I got a black screen after the Info-Window. The console of Firefox reports the following: ``` Error: WebGL warning: linkProgram: Programs with more than 16 samplers are disallowed on Mesa drivers to avoid crashing. Error: WebGL warning: useProgram: Program has not been successfully linked. Error: WebGL warning: getUniformLocation: `program` must be linked. ``` The last message then gets continuously reported.
I try it on a different system tomorrow as my PC is running on integrated graphics at the moment but may it's something simple to solve.
Great job! I had a lot of fun playing, and I like the look a lot as well!
very challanging game for me! like very much, very simple and well implemented project.
@gagapete, ooh, that's unexpected. As a workaround I can suggest turning off WebGL in your browser to make a game degrade to a canvas rendering. In fact there's nothing GL-specific in the game. I will try to fix it later today. Sorry for the inconvenience.
@gexalmighty, well, nothing's fun for everyone, I guess. =) Thank you for the feedback!
Great game. I found it very difficult which made me want to play it again and again. The graphics i found were very fitting to the game. This is a great game, well done.
@Yngvarr No problem at all. I used another PC to play and finish it. That's a great implementation of the theme very well executed. I hope to see more levels in the future.
HARD HARD HARD!
A good and simple game :) Just a bit hard because the lines you need to type are too logn for me x)
But still fun to play :)
LOL! This is fun. But incredibly difficult; I struggled to even get past the spikes on the second platform, couldn't type fast enough :( Great idea though
Awesome entry. Reminds me of old dos games like zman. Good job!
Daaamn son! Initally is freakin hard but when you get used to it cool af. The art fits so well with the mechanics.
I'm bit of a slow writer but i still manage to finish the level ! Great job fun and simple :)
Made me hate my mechanical keyboard. 5/5
Wow... That was... hard. But I managed to finish this level.
Was a bit confused about the pre-loading Up/down commands. Tried to pre-load it before sarting to run... without realizing that run command will cancel going up.
Wow, that was more fun than I expected! And frustrating! I'm not as good typer as I thought.
The game could benefit from more levels, starting with easier ones. But I know, I seldom have time to make more than one level for my LD games. (That's why I generated them procedurally this time.)
I especially like the hints. I never understood the hint about icons in the corner though.
Good job!
Like @Sapazu, this game made me question if I should have bought the heaviest switches for my keyboard.
Really enjoyed it. I'll echo everyone else and say that more levels would be very welcome. It's such a solid game already, the only thing missing is more! Well done.
Really liked the approach you took on your game! The art is very functional, yet simple enough to not distract the player.
Congratulations on the project!
This was rather enjoyable! I certainly enjoy the choice of aesthetics, for one, and it looks really polished for such simple art and sound. The one thing I was the most impressed about was your level design and balancing. At no point did I feel too frustrated, and the checkpoints were spaced out nicely, allowing you to try again quickly after a particularly tricky section, and reward you for clearing it. It's rare to see a properly crafted experience like this in a game jam; you must've done a reasonable amount of playtesting. All in all, great job!
Very nice! I instantly took to the graphics as they triggered many buried memories of staring at VGA screens in text mode and move an @-sign around a dungeon ;) The test chamber is nicely designed, slowly ramping up the difficulty and I enjoyed the subtle animations such as the faces blinking. The sound was also spot on; I half expected it to come from my PC speaker ;)
I found the genre-mix very original as it turned how to approach platforms on its head: It's not so much about pushing a button for an instant action but rather planning ahead first, typing fast, *and also* push a button the right moment.
Overall I had quite some fun with it, well done!
@vilcans, level generation is not always an option, but makes a lot of fun when relevant. As for a hint, it's just a reminder of this green ones:

They may be useful when you need to check what side you are headed to or if up command is holded. It had more use during a debuging stage, but can also be handy in a game.
@fitz13, @sapazu, strong fingers are so brutal! =)
@justinooncx, your words are such a relief for me because it was the first time I did level design and this part was the one I was pretty unconfident about. But, as you can see, all the gaming experience and some knowledge from a stuff I read before in the Internet did the trick. I'm glad you enjoyed the result!
@philstrahl, you got the right feeling, just as it was planned _(actually it wasn't, I had no idea about a mood and just tried to act natural ;) )_! =D Thank you for a feedback!

Thank you, everyone! I really appreciate all your feedback! Your words are heart and soul of Ludum Dare itself!
Really fun, challenging platformer! I included it in my Ludum Dare 41 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHFQFxHlU6Y
Yay! Thank you very much, @jupiter-hadley, and thank you for showing us all the wonderful LD games! =D
Loved this! (And I'm saying this even thoug it took me ages to finish).    (All my thumbs up)!
Is it inteded for 'run' to cancel 'up'?
Also, I unintentionally cheesed the final key by jumping too early on the second jump, hitting my head on the ceiling and fall to my death, but pick up the while falling by just brushing the platform from the side. Maybe it could be just a bit more to the right to prevent that?
P.S. -p 144t seems super secure
Hey Yngvarr I'm a linux nerd too haha awesome game. It's the best platfomer controlled by text input I've played so far. The up arrow to access history is awesome, only a true linux nerd would have added that hahaha.
Congrats on the entry!
Woah, this is cool! It feels incredibly polished, fun, and I loved every bit of it! All of the mechanics felt great, and even the more awkward ones, like "up", made the game even better. The physics felt smooth, and the game introduced mechanics at a perfect pace. Everything about this game was amazing! Phenomenal work!
@secretpocketcat, yeah, any command (except `up`, obviously) cancels it, that was the idea. Talking of the final key, being too sleepy I didn't playtest that one much. I remember some doubts about its place... hmm... Anyway, glad you found the game fun! =)
@rombus, yay, thank you, fella linuxoid! At the beginning I thought that the command history will make the game too easy, but then I tried to play and realized how wrong I was. =)
@chaseplays, so enjoy reading this! Thank you! =)
Really great game ! There is a few typing game /platformer during this LD but this might be the best one so far. Is quite engaging and challenging, but the fact that you can use previous command is very useful and make a lot of difference. I love also the ASCII artstyle, it works very well with the theme of the game. Congratulation, this game is one of my favorite so far !
I really liked the look and feel of this game. I'm sure that with practice this would have gotten easier and I would have learned to queue up the orders and execute them with up and down, but I never quite got there. This gae made me realize how inaccurate a typer I really am, so thanks for that.
I liked the little things like the way that the @ turned around when you typed turn. You could have just made itinstantly switch, but instead you tweened it. I think that adds a lot to the game.
Well done!
Really hard game. Fitting theme. Good job.
Very challenging game. Only pre using the commands to use them in the command history made me advance. Very cool idea and approach to the theme.
Very good work!
Nice idea but not for a slow typer like me. Reminded me why I make short aliases for my frequently used terminal commands. The ascii-like visuals looks pretty nice and fitting for the game. Great job.
Very hard, but not because of the bug (everything is going well), I'm just bad at this kind of games. Good work!
This game is awesome, I love everything although it's harder than I thought.
Theme 6/5 just amazing concept you thought up as platformer that relies both on strategy and reflexes/timing. Also the sound is great and I like how the red cubes seem unhappy when they kill you. No complaints form me, great effort.
This game is freaking awesome, I dig this type of games, if this gets a post-LD game, I'll be definitely sure to check it out with more levels, although I do not reach the end of the game, this game is still very fun, it is very very challenging and difficult, most of the time forgetting the commands, but very solid game!
Here's the video again of my playthrough again :) https://youtu.be/UoxXOgp40t0
Very cool! Absolutely infuriating, but also kind of satisfying. Lovely graphics.
It is a cool mix, and I really like the console setup which is more original and justifies the theme better than a "regular platformer". Frustrating sometimes, it's still good to have the stop command to have a second to think
Neat game! All though hard and slightly frustrating xD It's cool though, just wish i could type faster at times. I feel like the real challenge here is remembering the chain of commands you need to finish a level
Very cool, one of the better typing games I've seen this jam!
Good job! Cool game! Very hard this mix!
I left my rating of your game, if you can leave your feedback in our game, Witch's Escape.
I hope you continue with the project.

It was too hard for me. But cute lil` game :)
Good job, indeed this feel like two incompatible genres mixed.
I had a good time playing it
I've played a few games with the same idea, but this one really excels with the command history feature. Much of the frustration of typos and needing fast typing is taken out, well done!
Little games are so cute. It will be nice if there is no continuation.
Awesome game. It was really hard but I couldn't stop playing. Great job. If I think about what constructive feedback I could give you, nothing comes to my mind :) Congratulations! It would be really cool, if you left some feed back for our game (https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/cartds), thanks!
