LD46 — Keep it alive

The Olympic Flame: 2420 by Local Minimum 2020-04-21T18:07:12Z

I had to really laugh out loud playing this game, everything about it has a comedic feel. The way the robot looks, how hard it is to control him, the inspirational quotes in the corner. I think music and sound effect would have made it a lot better. Keep it up!

Keep the King Alive by Noxalus 2020-04-21T20:55:28Z

You did all of this alone in 48 hours? That is insane, very well done! The art is very cute, the controls are solid, although clicking on moving targets was sometimes hit or mis. The music was one of the lesser things in this game. Keep this up please!

Is it wrong to feed haterz to my plants? by khaotom 2020-04-20T09:33:08Z

Nice little game! The vector graphics and animations are really beautiful and vibrant. It is a little hard to figure out what to do in the beginning, but ones you get the hang of it, it becomes pretty funny but certainly a challenge! Keep up the good work!

That guy by baylej 2020-04-22T17:15:08Z

Well executed meme sir  wished there was more to it though, some extra mechanics/different monsters would have been nice.

Egde Fault by crazyrems 2020-04-20T12:36:47Z

Love the Runscape-are graphics! It misses some key features to be a complete game, but it is still a cool concept!

Madagascar Simulator 2020 by Echo Team 2020-04-23T09:03:55Z

Interesting game. But it is pretty unclear what vessels are save and which not. First I was only letting in the grey/white boats because the others where red and I associate that with bad things. But then I suddenly got some corona cases. Maybe adding pictures of which boats are cargo ships to the instructions screen would have cleared things up. I like how you have to time the ships coming in and that they do not all stop on the same distance from the port, this gives them some character. Keep up the good work!

8 Degrees of Being Charlie McCandless by Simukas 2020-04-20T11:54:52Z

Interesting puzzle mechanic! The art looks very solid. It might be somewhat to easy, al little more challenge would be appreciated. Keep up the good work!

NOTHING by shubart 2020-04-23T08:51:04Z

Well, it delivered on what the title and description promises, I give you that.

Food Chuck by PeachTreeOath 2020-04-22T06:26:57Z

I love that these tough looking cars order ice cream and cacti 🀣 that was a lot of fun, although it quickly became an overload of cars and orders. Got to level 3 or 4 I think. Amazing work overal, keep it up!

Feed me! by Liam 2020-04-20T08:54:57Z

This is a fun concept! I like how you feel pretty desperate to feed the Vizbig, it is clear that the plant is the center of the game. It is hard to juggle between feeding it and getting the fruit to your house. Certainly in the end when the time to get resources is shorter than how fast you can walk back and forth to the source of the resource, but I have the feeling that was a design decision πŸ€”

Whalestrom by aevek 2020-04-21T20:00:05Z

Like any good whale-god-owner I called mine Hans. This game is epicly beautiful! The music also really fits and got me real hyped up. The flight controls worked pretty good for me, though it was sometimes hard picking up resources to a point where I stopped bothering. All in all an awesome game, keep it up!

Keep Sweep by Invixel 2020-04-22T22:00:22Z

Loved the voice at the start of the game! Funny stuff! Got pretty far into the game, it became pretty hard when there were less houses to stack on currency. So all the money I had went to repairs instead of upgrades until I died. Cool idea, well executed, but could still use some polish

Comboboy by Peter Jonsson 2020-04-21T18:42:10Z

Cool puzzle mechanic, but got a bit stuck on level 3 (I think). Maybe I'm missing something, but educating the player more on how the game works would have made the puzzle part pop out more

Claude Van Clamme Presents: The Pet Snake Chronicles by The Enigma 2020-04-21T20:47:38Z

Lovely idea, I liked how the snek chomped the apples  Was disappointed that I could not ride the snake around. I like how you guys created a backstory for each snake! Keep up the good work!

Lich Clicker by Fictions 2020-04-20T10:49:38Z

This game is amazing! Love the art, love the voice acting, love the story. I really got hooked, please more of this! πŸ˜ƒ

Just in time! by Oleksandr Rogovskyi 2020-04-20T22:20:34Z

The concept of this game is hilarious! Some of the puzzles are a little hard, but man do I like me a good Tetris!

Chonk Simulator by Bradalli 2020-04-21T20:12:13Z

The art is just lovely! Really like it when the troll is thinking about what to eat next πŸ€— It is hard to control the farmer though, he randomly gets stuck here and there. The interact action does not always seem to fire, which makes it a little frustrating. In the beginning everything seems to work fine, but it gradually gets worse. I think that with some extra polish this could definitely be a fun game I would enjoy! Keep it up all of you!

Ultimate Kick Ball by Random Thoughts 2020-04-23T09:22:57Z

Fun game, the controls are pretty solid. I also like how the ball gets more oval when it has a higher velocity. The walk animation looks really funny. Maybe a larger variety of modifiers with which the ball could collide would have kept me engaged even longer. Keep up the good work!

Keep It Alight by Lamasaurus 2020-04-20T09:20:22Z

@arcus had some of the same feedback for that jump, so it is not you πŸ˜‰ clearly have to check it out if I want to create a full game from this concept πŸ˜€ Thanks for leaving feedback!

Keep It Alight by Lamasaurus 2020-04-20T09:22:51Z

He deserves a better life, like we all do @landerack πŸ˜‰ Thanks for checking it out!

Keep It Alight by Lamasaurus 2020-04-20T10:39:49Z

I'm glad you liked it @vex, I put a lot of effort in the atmosphere in general 😁

Keep It Alight by Lamasaurus 2020-04-20T12:07:26Z

@westmave thanks for the kind words! You are nearly there, from Elie Wiesel you only have a quarter of the game more to go πŸ˜‰ hope you will like the resolution of the game!

Keep It Alight by Lamasaurus 2020-04-20T12:51:30Z

@wet-band-aid wow awesome you consider a replay! Is this something you would like to see a full game of?

@qazikol hope is something found in the darkest of places, so I wanted my game to be one of these darkest places

@siegmayer thank you so much! I will have a look at your game after work (and I'm on a Mac right now) and see if I can give some tips on mood and atmosphere

Keep It Alight by Lamasaurus 2020-04-20T14:55:47Z

@sibebleuze for me they represent close minded people who try to get your hopes down. But they are whatever works for you  thanks for playing until the end!

Keep It Alight by Lamasaurus 2020-04-20T20:21:23Z

@mykola sorry, I did not have time to include secrets (although I would have loved to add some), mainly focussend on the core game experience and it's atmosphere because that is what most players will experience in a jam like this  thanks for sticking around till the end, put a lot of work into that sequence πŸ€—

Keep It Alight by Lamasaurus 2020-04-20T20:43:17Z

@steambrain thanks for the kind words! woops that should indeed not happen, will look into that when working further on it, thanks for reporting this bug

Keep It Alight by Lamasaurus 2020-04-21T10:25:43Z

@narom42 yeah, sorry for that, maybe should have blocked that path off, but I just wanted to show off that there is a bright sky after these dark times  Mastering audio is still something I could improve on, had difficulty with that because silence is also an important part of the game. Thanks for the feeback!

Keep It Alight by Lamasaurus 2020-04-21T22:27:02Z

@brzyrt yeah, me neighter to be honest, but I felth like I needed some kind of story or dialog throughout the game. I will probably change out the quotes for little character development snippits. Thanks for checking it out, I appreciate it!

Keep It Alight by Lamasaurus 2020-04-22T07:50:45Z

@shaolin-dave that would be awesome yes! 😁

Keep It Alight by Lamasaurus 2020-04-22T08:33:53Z

@shaolin-dave you are a hero! I updated the link, next time I will have to learn to do this myself πŸ˜… thank you so much for doing this and checking the game out! The controls are clearly something I could improve on, someone also suggested that, if I use the arrow keys, space should be jump. Just multiple control schemes would have been a good idea I guess.

And yeah those guys are meant to do that  but there are multiple ways of getting rid of them!

Keep It Alight by Lamasaurus 2020-04-22T22:02:54Z

@steffo anything could be watching you in my game 😜 thanks for checking it out and leaving feedback!

Keep It Alight by Lamasaurus 2020-04-23T20:12:52Z

@robcozzens2 I'm so glad the atmosphere change came over as intended! I thought it was insane that I spend 5-6 hours on art, animations, sounds and systems for a section in the game that would only take 10 to 20 seconds to experience πŸ˜… Without these the game and story would not have had a proper conclusion! But I agree that giving the character color during hugging the person (I flip-flopped back and forth between letting it be a guy or a girl) at the end would have been a very strong, character defining moment! Will definitely add that once I pick this project back up. Having different control schemes is also a valid point! But I don't have anecdotes about that :stuck_out_tongue: Thank you for checking it out and taking the time to write your feedback down!

Keep It Alight by Lamasaurus 2020-04-24T06:30:37Z

@marxy-37 I knew this was a problem when finishing the game, the 'outdoor area' begins right of the cave, that is why you get this Cave athmosphere wen going on top of it. I just wanted there to be as much blue sky as possible, to show that everything is kind of alright now 😊 but people like to experiment more than I anticipated on πŸ˜› thanks for playing and pointing it out!

Keep It Alight by Lamasaurus 2020-04-25T06:49:51Z

@baylej thanks for trying it on Linux  Godot is an engine near and dear to my heart

Keep It Alight by Lamasaurus 2020-04-27T21:31:48Z

@molpe thanks for sticking around at the end, I thought you might give up, you were so close! I'm happy you got through it  This is the first time I see someone play my game and I am glad to see all the right reactions. The monsters are scary, the ending gave you a lot of relief and some of the parts are hard. Thanks for playing, providing feedback and creating a video about it! I really appreciate it!

Some of the quotes are indeed about the next or previous area. The first one was meant to provide context and meaning within the world of the game (Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness). Others are just quotes about hope to keep the player going and feeling that there will be an end to all the darkness

Mi vecino Rogelio by FranVadillo 2020-04-22T17:06:51Z

Hahaha I like how the nazi zombies spawn in swastikas! I would be handy to know my own health though  great game overall!

ECG - Electro Cardio Goblins by samot.cebukaj 2020-04-20T19:28:37Z

The idea is pretty innovative, but it trajectory of the ECG feels a little random and it is hard to predict how it will move around. Maybe a little more player feedback would help here, sounds when the arrow was right/wrong and stuff like that. I had to laugh with the 'radical' healing methods! Keep it up!

Alien Inquisitor by bsdrago 2020-04-21T18:15:14Z

I can see the Reigns influences, very cool concept. Defining scope can be hard, but we learn by doing  Keep it up and next jam will certainly produce something awesome

Peculiar Farming by Arcus 2020-04-20T10:38:35Z

I have the feeling something's not right here πŸ€”πŸ€£ I love the music and how random it is! Maybe the buy and sell menu could have been easier to accesse if they were in the ui, don't want to be away from my birds for to long πŸ˜‰

Peculiar Farming by Arcus 2020-04-20T12:52:41Z

@arcus oh! Will have to check that out!

Cosmic Felk is Dead! Long Live Cosmic Felk! by Qazikol 2020-04-20T11:22:00Z

This game is genius! Love the mood and wish it would have lasted longer. I really felt like a space cashier trying to spread the word of cosmic felk. Thank you for this game and please develop it further!

The Great Return by Attala 2020-04-20T07:46:02Z

I made it while my farmer died. It was hilarious to watch how the chicken did better without me πŸ˜… Well done!

Wayfarers by Tednesday 2020-04-20T19:10:52Z

This game is a real gem, the mechanics are simple and clear. The graphics are beautifully vibrant. The music is epic and the effects are very fitting to the medieval theme. Please develop this game further!

Dance Dance Unicorn of Magic! by Kagerowo 2020-04-21T08:51:23Z

The art in this game is very well done! After some experimentation, my game loop quickly became: 1. Search weapon upgrade 2. Camp on the 3x score area 3. Repeat. Which was fun to do, but became stale after some time. While the enemies have beautiful and varied art/animations, it would have been more interesting if they also would have different behaviours πŸ™‚ The highest score I could get was 40000. Certainly a game with potential, keep it up!

Life Light by Madbarron 2020-04-23T21:16:05Z

Cool little survival game. I loved the animation of the fire and the flickering lighting effects! Really gave a nice atmosphere. I got rescued after having this massive bonfire, but I would have much rather just sit near it and stare into the flames :stuck_out_tongue: Some game explanation in the beginning would have been nice though, I had to come over here and read the comments before I knew what to do. Cool that you used the theme two fold, because I had to keep the fire and the boy alive! Keep up the good work!

Branch Out by Thermacon 2020-04-20T15:38:52Z

This game is pretty addictive, when everything goes according to plan it is a blast to play. But it is also pretty hard! You need sunlight to remove bugs, but bugs decrease sunlight, so once the bugs take the upper hand there is no way to save the tree. Love the low polly graphics! Overall nice work!

Beerloose starring Beer Bearer Bob - Keep the Party Alive! by loganthemanster 2020-04-24T11:11:43Z

This was fun to play! You really had me laughing out loud with the music and the little lines all the characters say! Even had to laugh when the DJ stole my beer πŸ˜‚ It is pretty hard though, it feels like it is impossible to keep all 4 ladies stocked up on beer at the same time. Maybe some kind of sprint mechanic would have made this possible. Awesome game and keep up the good work!

Stay home Gramps by jxavier 2020-04-20T15:43:12Z

This is a simple game with an important message! Love the chilled out music. I also found that you can shake the house to bounce the people around and get extra points πŸ˜›

Pull The Levers! by jaoel 2020-04-20T21:13:41Z

This was so much fun! Very well made, everything just fits. I like that there are a lot of randomized modules, makes each playtrought unique, makes me think of Keep Talking And Nobody Dies. Though sometimes there is an Error and I am not totally sure what is going on, a little more guidance would have been nice. Thanks for this awesome game!

Alfred's Box by Dgames_Crew 2020-04-20T15:52:17Z

The end did not disappoint! Well done, I think I broke my mouse clicking so much πŸ˜… One thing that put me off a bit was the window size, I kept clicking next to it and focussing another program having to scramble to press Alt+Tab.

A Tree by ditam 2020-04-22T22:22:31Z

On the first go I shed my leaves in the first month, not realizing what I had done I just carried on until I noticed that I was not able to buy anything πŸ˜… did not do to bad that play through to be honest, got more than a year. My second attempt went a lot worse. This taught me something about plants that is applicable to my room plants: don't give them too much attention, they will die if you over water them :stuck_out_tongue: intricate game, seems cool, but there is so much information right into your face. Would love to see this more broken down. You could just introduce a couple of systems at a time or something. Keep it up!

The Core by EggCartonGames 2020-04-22T06:17:31Z

Got 2000 points! I love that you thought about lighting, that directly brings in a lot of atmosphere. Some feedback when hitting enemies (or getting hit by an enemy) would have been nice, something like another noise, an animation or some recoil would have done the trick there. The music got me hyped thought, really energetic! Keep up the good work!

The Cave by Gonzako 2020-04-20T19:42:50Z

Cool little experience, the 2/3D pixelated art style is just lovely! I would pretty much see this fleshed out as a complete game with some more mechanics.

Beached by Andre Fremaux 2020-04-21T20:21:50Z

Hey man, that was pretty funny! The graphics are on point, just like the audio. Took me some time to realize I had to push the turtle down the beach, but he is a free boy (or girl) now. Keep up the good work!

Fire Is Life by Lakshya Maurya 2020-04-22T06:32:36Z

There is something here, but unfortunately this game is not developed enough to be really playable. I played the first 3 levels, after that I did not want to reload the page anymore. Please keep on developing and I hope to see you next jam!

Devil Egg by devilskeyStudio 2020-04-20T17:40:35Z

There is something here, but it get way to hard early in the game. I restarted multiple times and every time I died before I was able to even read what upgrades were available. My tactic became to randomly click on as much upgrades as possible and then just wing it. I think it would be better to ease the player into all the mechanics of your game. That being said, there is a lot of content. Multiple upgrades and enemy types. The graphics also look decent. If the game was beter paced I would certainly have enjoyed it more! Keep up the good work!

Baby on board by steambrain 2020-04-20T20:09:15Z

I love the voxel graphics of the game. Really feels like slapstick comedy with that music. It was pretty hard to control though, I feel like a slower camera speed and more closely placed control-terminals would make it less flimsy. But all in all a fun game! Beautiful concept art by the way!

Earth Protector by Riadazz 2020-04-20T18:18:22Z

Pretty simple game, but a fun one. Call me Earth Protector!

Don't Kill The Messenger by Koolruz 2020-04-22T11:26:18Z

Cute artstyle, love the animations! I also like the mechanics a lot, but I think that if the player knows the mechanics up front, they are able to think more about the puzzle at hand and less have to wonder what is going on. Keep it up!

Keep Jeff Alive by BenG 2020-04-21T21:10:58Z

Man I wanted to keep Jeff alive, but I kept dying myself πŸ˜… eventually got to level 3 or 4 I think, fun game! Cool that you made a game together, keep up the good work and see you next jam 😁

Keep the Earth Alive! by ColeHorvat 2020-04-20T09:39:24Z

Love how the meteors look like cookies or meatballs 🀣 The intro is really funny, was really laughing out loud, I wish you would also have written something funny for the fail state πŸ˜‰ Keep it up!

This Fire Burns by Thrawn911 2020-04-20T09:57:43Z

Fun little survival horror game, the atmosphere is certainly there, but it might be a little hard. Over the course of 3 retries I only managed to find 3 sticks. A little more variety in trees/backgrounds would also make it more interesting. I love the sprite for the player with these glimmery highlights, he really seems to be in a dark forest with only a torch to light him! Keep up the good work!

Creature Coraller by brzyrt 2020-04-21T21:04:46Z

I forgot that reloading was a thing. So there I was, just a cowboy pushing enemies away with my full body to protect my creature :stuck_out_tongue: After finding out space was the reload key it went a lot smoother, still got to 8000 something points. I got hooked for a moment. Really like the sliding mechanic, although I have the feeling he should slide on his knees. Keep it up!

Save the last Plant by Westmave 2020-04-20T11:28:34Z

Awesome for a first game! Love the little story elements. I would hide developer output though

Robot Walk by tmpvoid 2020-04-23T09:09:14Z

This is amazing! You nailed the character movement and the feeling of controlling a big robot! I love how the camera zooms in and out around the robot. Please develop this more and keep up the good work!

Robot Walk by tmpvoid 2020-04-23T15:19:51Z

@tmpvoid it feels like there was put a lot of time put into the movement of the robot and it clearly payed of  I really like how the rectangles that make up the legs grow bigger and smaller to give a sense of depth. But nonetheless should we not underestimate what an impact these `quick` to add changes could have, the camera zooms make it really juicy and satisfying to change controls.

Feed The Panda by Takase 2020-04-20T18:44:25Z

The art is very beautiful! I love how random some of the burgers are, my panda liked to eat burgers with only cheese πŸ˜… the game itself is pretty simple, but that is ok. Keep it up!

Untitled Tree Game by Raphaeltan 2020-04-21T21:23:42Z

Very relaxing game! First thing I thought was "Man thats a lot of controls" but luckily you just pick the ones that work the best for you  unfortunately my tree broke down at 9000 points while there were no branches growing. Oh will it already got pretty big. Keep it up!

Aliveness by L3GlON 2020-04-21T19:31:01Z

Fun game, thanks for the tutorial! You certainly put a lot in this game. The sprites are very well done, though a little flat sometimes. The controls where a little clunky from time to time, but luckily there was not that many precise jumps to be made. I hope the sun will be litt for a long time now

A story in the desert by Brain in a Bowl 2020-04-21T21:16:08Z

Awesome experience, those are some next level 2D wind effects you implemented there, very impressive! I agree on the fact that the controls could have been beter explained in the beginning, lucky they are pretty simple. Keep up the good work, would definitely love to see more of this!

Dinder Rush by PotatoWu 2020-04-23T21:30:22Z

The art in this game is very well done! The goal of the game is very well explained through the little tutorial. My main issue is that there are sometimes these unfair combinations of hazards that are impossible to circumvent. I think this could be partially solved by varying the jump height depending on how long space is pressed. Overall very awesome game, keep it up!

Dinder Rush by PotatoWu 2020-04-24T06:33:37Z

@potatowu I understand! But it is possible to controle the randomness to some extend by disallowing certain combinations, that would probably have been out of scope of a 72hour game though πŸ˜…

SeaTurtle Safety Squad by PrimalShadow 2020-04-22T22:09:27Z

The turtles were my babies and I failed them, I feel so sad  cool game! Love that you have to run around for the scare mechanic to kick in, really gives it a chaotic feeling  would have liked some music though.

Sadness by siegMAYer 2020-04-20T17:28:43Z

I love the idea! You really tried to incorporate the theme of depression in every aspect of the game. The music is sad and slow, the background is dull, everything seems off. The game mechanic that the outcome of my actions is uncertain gave me the feeling of not being in control while trying my hardest to be happy. Don't think you failed to capture the feeling of despair because it is certainly there! Well done and keep up the good work!

FurBall by Plutonium Powered 2020-04-24T07:24:41Z

Had a blast playing this. Felt bad for hitting the cute kitten with a racket, but that how it is in the wild I guess :stuck_out_tongue: The music gives a nice calming atmosphere. Keep up the good work!

Human Apocalypse by Fathy Basha 2020-04-20T17:55:59Z

The pixel art of the characters is insanely well done! And the music fits the story by adding this feeling of kindness and compassion. Apart from a number of bugs I encounter (that were easily looked over), it was not always clear what to do next. Luckily there were these prompts in the bottom left corner, but ideally the player should know what to do without those. All in all a well delivered story!

It's Just Human by MomoLala23 2020-04-21T09:10:24Z

A simple 'manage multiple subsystems at once' game, but a funny one at that. The voice acting is hilarious, though I missed some extra voicing at the failstate. The UI elements are clear and easy to understand, was not confused at all. Keep up the good work!

Why did you throw the baby? by airwaffle 2020-04-20T19:51:44Z

This was a lot of to be honest! I just kept throwing the baby, wondering by myself, why did I do that? πŸ˜…

Type it alive by Adry 2020-04-20T10:09:17Z

Cool concept, I love me a good typing exercise! Although a tutorial would indeed be nice as I forgot to move with the arrow keys and watched the first wave of monsters just crash into my heart πŸ˜…

Mothership by Wet_Band-Aid 2020-04-22T06:49:25Z

Was laughing out lout with the 'meeps' of the aliens in the beginning, it made me sad to seem them die! Cool intro. Unfortunately I had to resort to button mashing because the first level already is very difficult at the end and I loved to see what more the game had to offer. The art is fun and intricate, you put some nice detailes in there, like the pods with your dying kind on the ship. Keep up the good work!

The Dark Cave by Tom Stephenson 2020-04-21T20:40:03Z

Cool sound based mechanic! I was really on edge around the spider things. I would try to refine the movement though, it felt a little dry. Maybe a little variate in the sounds that would be awesome, hearing the same click 100 times in that last corridor was pretty harsh :stuck_out_tongue: Certainly something I would love to see more of!

I LIKE FISH! by Rikitaner 2020-04-20T20:41:30Z

Love the minimalistic style, the characters are just so cute! I think the music fits the overal theme, also like what you did with the menu. Keep up the great work!

Eco Therapy by Slurp1e 2020-04-21T19:10:47Z

Let me start by saying that the graphics are gorgeous! Maybe a little to much motion blur. It was hard to uncover what items where intractable, this is mostly due to the fact that you can't select a new item while the menu for another one is open. Also please add a`controls` and `how to play` section to the description page itself and the game, not just the comments. The music was very pleasing and relaxing, exactly what I would suspect from a game like this. Overall well done, keep it up!

Ding by jdalida 2020-04-20T08:04:35Z

The boss is harder than I thought πŸ˜…The platforming is solid, I would try to give more feedback to the player though, sounds and animations for when the player/enemie get hit and things like that. Overal fun game πŸ™‚

Life Ablaze by Gerbo 2020-04-20T11:05:13Z

The game is actually really fun if you get the hang of it  The sprites look very sharp and vibrant! But I agree that the mechanics could be explained better in the beginning. "You must feed the fire essence with your magic" is pretty vague. What is the fire essence? Is the thing I shoot "my magic"? Does "feeding it" mean shooting it? Music is on point though, feels really energetic. Keep up the good work!

Organ Simulator by mneubrand 2020-04-20T20:17:12Z

This game is genius! I like how each organ has a different kind of task to perform. I feel like the difficulty spike when you have to start typing words could maybe get softened a bit by making the words shorter. Good concept, awesome graphics, well executed, just a little hard  thanks for the game!

Keep Math Alive by BrotherByto 2020-04-20T10:03:39Z

Cool concept! Really keeps you on edge. The music is also very fitting for the school-ish theme you are going for. Very well done!

Controller by XdSilentStorm 2020-04-23T09:32:15Z

Awesome game! The first level was kind of hard because the player would stick completely to the right of the screen, making it hard to keep hold of platforms sometimes. But after that the other level had the player run in the middle and that made it a lot easier  I love the minimalistic graphics and the player animation is really well done. Keep up the good work!

Feathers, Fur, and Fury by frompdx 2020-04-21T18:18:43Z

I like how the little cat can't handle the recoil of the gun :stuck_out_tongue:

Feathers, Fur, and Fury by frompdx 2020-04-21T19:04:00Z

@frompdx Oh how I love it when a bug becomes a feature!

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Kiwi Intergalactic War Initiative by Iak 2020-10-05T19:01:15Z

I'm sorry but I don't get it. What do I need to do? A little explanation about the mechanics and goal of the game would be awesome. The art looks cool and the mechanic of the simulated solar systems looks interesting though. I think I finished one level, not really sure though.

Rail Gun by jharler 2020-10-05T18:13:14Z

I like how it is a non-violent shooter, very creative. Completed the game in 11:07 minutes and 548 shots. In the star level one of the green balls got stuck behind the speed up turret and my rail-gun ended up so fast that it just staid in place in the middle, that was interesting πŸ˜… Good job, on the graphics too, they look very retro-neon, keep up the good work!

Cool mechanic, it is pretty hard to finish a lap though πŸ˜…

Loop Industries by Simone 2020-10-04T22:10:59Z

Short game, had to play it twice because I pressed the red button before reading the complete sign, so did not know about the portals πŸ˜… Everything is well modeled and animated, good job for only 48h! The movement is a little stiff though.

Rat Inc by Wouter Deferme 2020-10-05T07:35:53Z

@james-clark we also loved recording the β€œmemememememe” πŸ˜‚

Rat Inc by Wouter Deferme 2020-10-05T09:23:39Z

Wow @iluvatar thanks for the kind words! We are so happy to see that our little jokes caught on!

We tried to aim for a game experience of ~7minutes, so we balanced the prices toward that number. We were hoping people would be hooked enough at the final stage to see it through and would be able to hire a bunch of extra rats.

Thanks for the feedback, we really appreciate it!

Rat Inc by Wouter Deferme 2020-10-05T18:21:41Z

@thebooksnail aaah our trap worked! πŸ˜‰

Rat Inc by Wouter Deferme 2020-10-06T07:28:43Z

@bukkaketears we wanted that the player noticed how their influence started growing in the company with every new promotion. Maybe we should have made this more clear by removing the offices that you are not able to see  Thanks for the feedback!

Rat Inc by Wouter Deferme 2020-10-07T08:31:47Z

@cesargary Meme me mememe me (Thanks for playing!)

Rat Inc by Wouter Deferme 2020-10-07T08:37:53Z

@rhoff95 the wheel is kind of an optical illusion where some people see it in one way and others the other way around. Depth perception on circular objects is a tricky thing in pixel art

AudioLoop by Hyohane 2020-10-04T22:01:22Z

Interesting concept, these ar definitely two genres that are rarely combined, well done on that part! Would be could if there was an end to the track and that you get points based on the 'musicality' of the loop or something. Sometimes I died without really knowing why, which was strange. Keep up the good work!

GLITCH LOOP by ZakAmana 2020-10-06T11:37:51Z

This game, please make more of it! I always look up to people who decide to create puzzle games for a jam, but most of the time these are way to hard or to easy. You just created one that makes every stage achievable with the right amount of brain power, but that still has a lot to offer if you want to go for all the crystals. It is very well balanced. Also adore the art! Awesome entry, keep up the good work!

O by Thomas_Bringer 2020-10-05T08:06:07Z

This game works because of its simplicity. Very well done, certainly nice results for only 3 hours of work!

Eat your cereals by Harksa 2020-10-06T19:09:34Z

Lily The Bee by Vivien Fargette 2020-10-05T17:48:19Z

I got an error saying `There should be 'Lily_The_Bee_Data' folder next to the executable` when I try to execute the .exe :(

Lily The Bee by Vivien Fargette 2020-10-05T18:32:40Z

Ah yes that worked, I'm not very familiar with Unity. Lily must be the most bad ass bee ever! Protecting her hive in the face of so many enemies 🐝 I really enjoyed the plot and art of this game, very lighthearted and fun. I was never able to shoot an enemy on the first 'bounce' that the enemies made because Lily did not move fast enough. I think if Lily started in the middle of the screen, that would have made it easier to manage. Overall a very fun game about the epic little bee Lily, keep up the good work!

Just in Time by Pietrek 2020-10-05T07:59:44Z

Cool concept! Once I got it it was a blast to play. But jumping was kind of inconsistent. It felt like jumping while moving made you jump higher, but then you had to account for that and not bump into anything. Keep up the good work!

lΓΌp blaster by bramreth 2020-10-06T16:18:20Z

This was so addictive to play! Very simple, but the mechanics really carried the game. Automatic shotgun is clearly the way to go

Nugget by plloyer 2020-10-05T20:49:12Z

This cycling mechanic is very creative! Also good that you placed singes indicating what stage to use, this made it mor user friendly, although these may vanish after some time. The music also had me dancing along πŸ˜…

Lucky Lefty Loves Loops by TheBookSnail 2020-10-05T19:54:38Z

21 days by CodeForJoyCaro 2020-10-05T19:10:42Z

Unfortunately the dialog screen gets drown over the complete game πŸ˜• so it was very hard to play, still tried though, but did not get far unfortunately.

21 days by CodeForJoyCaro 2020-10-05T19:16:45Z

@codeforjoycaro oops typo, it gets drawn over the game like this:

Capture.PNG

That is how the game looks when I try to play it.

21 days by CodeForJoyCaro 2020-10-05T19:31:43Z

Ah yes, that worked, was not really clear though. I managed to get to my new life as a candy kicking martial arts master! Liked the weirdness of it all and the end sequence. It is a little clunky that you are not able to move and kick at the same time though. Keep it up!

Crocodial by David-Liddelow 2020-10-05T17:57:45Z

How I hate it when my neighbor lizards start shouting profanities at me πŸ˜… fun game, the control over the rolling lizard is very smooth. I did not get to the end, at some point the amount of information just becomes to much. Enemies and bullets flying from every side, spells for which I did not know what they do, it was pretty hectic. I think that a slower introduction of elements would have made that a lot easier. That being said, there is definitely a lot here, had a lot of fun replaying it and trying to beat my high score 😁

The Monkey Weekend by Paulsams 2020-10-06T20:42:47Z

I loved exploring the little city you build! Very interesting that it was a circular platformer, this definitely works. I did not really knew what I had to do though, threw over some bricks and paint pots, but the last 2 - 3 days I just hung out there, not knowing what to do. A little more guidance would be cool. All in all a very cool concept!

Roll A Loop by Tristan10Cats 2020-10-05T18:54:13Z

Cool concept, once in the flow it was very fun. I think putting the 3 kinds of pieces on different buttons on the keyboard would have made my reaction time faster, now it was sometimes hard to look back and forth from the pieces and navigate the mouse toward the right piece. A little sound would also have livened it up. The difficulty rise was pretty good, I did not feel pressured at the beginning to learn the mechanics. Keep it up!

Leave the yard by dyguests 2020-10-06T19:29:27Z

The art is very wel done, cute and lovely. The game aspect is a little easy though, completed it 3 times within a few seconds. The logic behind the appearing roads is not very clear, maybe if there was a button or timer it would be less confusing.

Stuck in a Day by Franci 2020-10-05T20:56:01Z

What a fun lighthearted game! Kinda reminds me of the old WarioWare games. It was a lot of fun to do the little tasks and there was certainly enough diversity. Keep it up!

Stuck in a Loop by RameshBlue 2020-10-05T19:43:20Z

Cool little game, I survived for 81 seconds. The graphics are just gorgeously lowpoly. There was this bug that made my corsair misaligned with the direction I was shooting in, which made it a little hard to aim. Keep it up!

The Song of Spiral Sam by Ashley Koett 2020-10-05T07:23:04Z

Ah man this game made so much sense 🀣 I had a good chuckle and even a laugh at times, the end is just glorious. The one dark environment with the toad is a little to dark though.

T.A.P.E. Acquiring Proof Expertly by p-brighenti 2020-10-05T19:35:52Z

I like your humor! Did not get far to be honest, although I really wanted to get further. The shuffling and bonking puzzle was a little unclear to decipher. The text speed was not to slow for me, English is not my main language and I'm dyslectic, so slower is better for me. Or maybe faster speed and a button to continue to the next bit of dialogue? All in all a very good first entry, keep up the good work!

T.A.P.E. Acquiring Proof Expertly by p-brighenti 2020-10-06T12:28:33Z

@p-brighenti don't worry, game jams are the ideal learning opportunities. Don't focus to much on the bad, because your game definitely is within the best 10% of games I played here

YOUR TIME by m7rk 2020-10-06T19:15:07Z

Cool cutscenes! The art in general is pretty great. Love the old school Zelda like style. It is a little annoying that you are not able to return to the previous room though.

Nirvana by dranjohn 2020-10-05T18:45:29Z

Cool concept! Love the bright graphics and voiced sound effects. I really wished that characters would have something to say about my choices though, that would have made the interactions a little more meaningful. Also had to lach with the 'Nananana' sound of the skeleton. Oh and adults do take naps sometime πŸ˜…

Star Loop by rickdearman 2020-10-05T07:31:21Z

Very good for a first game! Awesome that you used Godot. Also nice work on the parallaxing background. But man this game is hard. I think the movement is a little slow, so it is hard to follow the egg when you throw it.

Nothing To Hide by Pseudonclide 2020-10-06T19:22:01Z

Had to laugh a lot with this one, running around throwing everything over. In the end my tactic was to keep the item in my hands and run around the officer while they scanned the room :stuck_out_tongue: After the scan I was able to just hide it without time constraint  keep it up!

CardDunTris by jcwelgemoed 2018-04-24T12:13:23Z

Deal 'Em Up by James Dunlap 2018-04-24T11:44:57Z
