LD46 — Keep it alive

Flower Dreams by BradCode 2020-04-21T14:01:18Z

Very cool game, the sound feels great, but could use some background music. The graphics are really pleasant and the way it grows feels very natural. It is satisfying to get rows of flowers and I like how there is some difficulty to chaining up combos. There really isn't much I don't like! Great Job!

Trizzy Bee by niborious 2020-04-21T14:17:13Z

I loved the graphics, sound, and atmosphere. One thing I noticed was that the music didn't seem to play all the time. Anyways, great submission

Abidance by Kriss 2020-04-21T16:48:13Z

I think you have a great basis or an absolutely amazing horror experience, but it's just missing some balance. First of all, I think supplies are way too common. I ended up having like 15 medkits by the end of the game. the only think was really balanced was the batteries, as I only had around 2 by the end of the game. I think the encounters should actually be way less common, as it makes more terrifying when it happens. After I understood the game enough, I didn't use the bullets once. There was just no reason to as the light would ward them off anyways. Maybe the flashlight could slow the enemies and the bullets could actually scare them off? I think the light beacon was way too powerful, and using it was just boring because I'd just sit there for a few minutes while I was completely invincible. I also don't really get how this is related to the theme (not that this means the game has any less potential) I hope my criticisms don't come off as too harsh, and I only bring them up because I absolutely love the atmosphere and base gameplay, I just think the balancing needs some work. Great job on this game!

Good Squire by Eli Delventhal 2020-04-21T14:28:06Z

The game is very polished and quite pretty to look at, and the audio is all around good except for the somewhat repetitive voice lines. The levels kind of feel samey to me so it wasnt enough to keep me interested through the harder levels. I think if it was shorter (10 levels?) I probably would've played it to the end. Good job!

You Live Like This? by LurkinMcClerkin 2020-04-21T15:17:10Z

One of the best entries ive played. You got me at bendoverXD because I'm immature. Great stuff

8-Bit Soul Eater by Sebity 2020-04-21T17:18:04Z

Fun game. I wish playing the sound effects didnt cut off sound effects that were already going on. Sometimes jumping off vines didnt work. Good job on the graphics!

Keep It Alight by Lamasaurus 2020-04-21T21:48:54Z

solid short platformer with amazing lighting and atmosphere. I am personally not a fan of sappy inspiration quotes but it didnt really impact my enjoyment of the game

Chromasphere by Vladadamm 2020-04-21T15:06:56Z

All around an extremely well put together game with excellent feel. I liked how you can use your own body to protect the sphere, and it was interesting balancing protecting both sides. so far probably one of my favorite entries.

Press Flail to fail by Rafael Vital 2020-04-21T04:10:08Z

This was really fun, and I loved the art. Great job!

Friendship Simulator 2020 by ConnorH 2020-04-21T18:16:57Z

I can tell a lot of time was spent on the messages sent between the player and others haha. It could us another action needed to be done because the game is kind of repetitive. the scrollbar doesnt really work and is kind of frustrating to use. anyways, good fun for a short while.

Green Dream by Trusty 2020-04-21T16:17:10Z

I really liked the art style, but it was kind of hard to understand why certain plants were dying. eventually I did figure out. It was fun for a short time but there isnt much substance to it. Good job with the art!

Frozen Skies by ThorPalsson 2020-04-21T17:11:14Z

The graphics and atmosphere were really amazing, but there just wasn't much to do. Once my backpack was full it was permanently full so I was unable to keep playing. Anyways, good job with this entry!

Pet Sitter! by Sockyman 2020-04-21T14:56:04Z

Nice game, but I wasn't able to survive past 2 days because the pet kept dying after it ran out of happiness. I really liked the chiptune sound effects, they seemed very fitting.

Neighbor - a spooky pixel adventure by kristinamay 2020-04-21T03:45:54Z

The feeling of the game was good and I liked the music, but i couldnt really figure out what i was supposed to do.

Keep The Runner Alive by Life_Lich 2020-04-21T16:06:06Z

Good puzzle game, its fun and the UI is easy to use. I did get stuck on the third level because if you hit the yellow button and then leave, the yellow gate stays closed and its impossible to progress, even when quiting and loading.

Don't taste the lava by mira 2020-04-22T00:36:36Z

I am a fan of tetris, so I thought this was a cool puzzle game.brave_JTc5bEsbAo.png However there are two things that kind of irritating to me. First, I don't think there was a real need for the time limit. It just kind of made me restart for no reason. Second, there is no reason to not display all of the future blocks. it makes it so I just had to guess on the first try and memorize the blocks on subsequent tries. Despite that, this was a fun entry, and you had a good diversity of levels!

Need for Feed - High Voltage by slam0 2020-04-21T14:42:47Z

I wasn't able to drag stuff with left click to feed the power plant. I don't want to rate it poorly because I didn't understand how to play the game, but @ me if I'm being dumb and missing something simple. I will rate it on graphics and mood for now, because I liked what I saw

to Leave by 5imon 2020-04-21T17:56:21Z

I like the music layering on top of itself. Some of the tracks don't really mix into well and are louder than others, but since I can just turn those off it doesnt really matter. good stuff!

Rock' em All by Yigit Doruk 2020-04-21T17:45:33Z

Don't let rock die!

good music, good graphics but the gameplay was kind of lacking. Where your cursor is is kind of off from where you are actually shooting which is kind of frustrating and hard to get used to. Anyways, good job!

Infini-Train by haruzusi 2020-04-21T22:09:04Z

Fun game. I think that the player should be rewarded with extra km if they deliver the coal sooner, otherwise the best strat is to wait until you are almost out of coal and then dump it which is boring if players are going for a high score. it could also be nice if you only had to walk over one train car on the way to the coal and the train cars spawn in when you enter the coal car. Anyways, great score game!

Rusty Spaceship by VersatileSponge 2020-04-21T18:04:15Z

Really good feel. I like the idea of working on a shitty old spaceship, honestly this game could be really amazing if worked on. It would be interesting to see how this develops!

Creature Coraller by brzyrt 2020-04-21T04:55:05Z

@niborious ill do a mac build real quick

Creature Coraller by brzyrt 2020-04-21T05:12:35Z

@niborious did the mac build, but youll have to tell me if it works as i am a windows user

Creature Coraller by brzyrt 2020-04-21T05:21:47Z

@tritun yeah, that was probably the most iffy descision i made. What i like about it is it rewards players for pinpoint accuracy, as consecutive shots dont have the cooldown. It also allows the reload to not have a cooldown which is way more fun. The player could just shoot and then reload otherwise. Unfortnuately its a tad awkward, so it could go either way for me.

Creature Coraller by brzyrt 2020-04-21T13:29:04Z

@yyz the game does ramp up in difficulty after a little while. Balancing right was not easy for me, and I kind of hit a spot where the player has time to learn the controls for a minute or two before the difficulty starts picking up. One thing i shouldve done was put the enemy spawner on the player instead of the map because the difficulty is kind of delayed because it takes a while for the enemies to reach the player. I did intend on including controls in the game but i had work 3 hours before submission hour so i just didnt have time to add finishing touches like that. I do wish i couldve added some extra objects around the map so the map wasnt just barren like it is as of now. About the click killing. The mechanics are based around the fact that you both have to protect something that wonders around but you also have to use your slide ability to keep up with it while firing. This isnt really necessary until the difficulty picks up. Anyways, i might do a post jam build where i add controls before the game, tweak the difficulty and add misc stuff around the map

Creature Coraller by brzyrt 2020-04-21T17:46:28Z

@dianacalistru yeah i kinda forgot about that when uploading haha. am I allowed to change that? lol

Creature Coraller by brzyrt 2020-04-21T20:55:29Z

@3ago the reasoning behind that decision is that if you have a 1/4th delay between when you start a volley of bullets it encourages the player to expend bullets in chains rather than shoot then reload then shoot then reload. Shooting just one shot is much less effective than shooting all 6 rounds which adds more skill ceiling to the game. Anyways, thanks for the feedback

Creature Coraller by brzyrt 2020-04-21T21:41:20Z

@lamasaurus I wanted to do a sliding animation but this was the first time ive ever used the unity animation editor so its a miracle that I even got the shooting animations working lol. Thanks for the feedback!

Creature Coraller by brzyrt 2020-04-22T21:17:37Z

@scott-steffes You can slide allowing you to both move and shoot at the same time by pressing shift. Thanks for the feedback!

Creature Coraller by brzyrt 2020-04-27T15:48:47Z

@interpixel i didnt specifically code anything to make the npc run away from danger but i should do something like that like average the position of all nearby enemies and then run away from the point. another thing i wish I did was have the npc bounce off walls properly because right now it just travels towards the center of the map which is kinda hacky.

@kayahr yeah that was an issue that I just didnt have time to get to, despite how much i really wanted it in. It will be one of the first things I fix in the post LD builds

Dungeon Farmer by TheQiwiBoy 2020-04-21T03:59:54Z

got a 404

Imagine by AndreiOlenic 2020-04-21T17:03:23Z

Nice game, the graphics and sound fit together very well. sometimes its hard to hit enemies due to quirks of the game but with some polish this game could be very awesome. You did a good job on implementation of the move set. Great Job!

Keep The Planet Alive by Tbrax 2020-04-21T18:31:05Z

Fun, but wayyy too forgiving. The difficulty needs to ramp up a bit faster I think. other than that, fun time waster

Meet God Under the Neon Lights by Systematic 2020-04-21T03:59:21Z

The sound is fun and graphics are both very good, it could use some ambient background music though. the gameplay wasnt there to keep me going for the entire game, but good job on the atmosphere

BEATSMITH by Patsui 2020-04-21T17:27:23Z

Graphics and audio are the best part but there really isnt any amazing gameplay here. it really only works if you have easy mode on, because in normal mode I feel like you literally just have to guess when to click. The sword dipping really didnt make any sense to me. I'm sorry for being harsh, but I do find it really amazing how much good art and music you finished in 72 hours. I wouldn't be surprised if you win either audio or graphics.

Life of a Homeless by Marcel Grolms 2020-04-21T16:54:37Z

I could tell you put a lot of time into the design of the town, as it all looked really good. The movement and camera was kind of awkward, nothing that cant be fixed though. I could only find one item of food on the map. You should develop this a bit more, its a good start!

Bacteria Attack by Nikos1304 2020-04-21T18:25:12Z

The game is fun but the controls are not intuitive. like one commenter said, it could use keys to select color. The music is good
