I like the color and pacing.

Grats on completing for the first time! A few suggestions for future games: make the projectiles much bigger, they should pop and be super noticeable. Have autofire on mouse button down instead of mashing fire button. Lastly, when you distribute, name the zip file the name of your game! Be proud of your accomplishments! :smile_cat:
Simple but effective shooter. The music was nice but some sound effects would have been even nicer :)
I did not expect it to be a shooter) Good implementation of known mechanics
I've found some ester eggs)))
I like the music, and super good job on completing. I'd recommend adding that when you hold the mouse you fire rythmically, it helps from getting finger cramps :) Good job
Awesome for a first game! Love the little story elements. I would hide developer output though
Was a very fun game. I enjoyed they colours and art style. I think the enemies could have had a smoother spawn. Other than that it was a pleasure to play it.
Good for your first finished game. Could use some variation to the enemies and the collision felt a bit off, but it worked for the most part except after you kill 100 enemies this happens: Save the last Plant by westmave - Google Chrome 20_04_2020 15.59.24.png
Good gameplay and art style. Could have more bullet feedback though (bigger bullets, sounds, etc.). Otherwise great start for your first game!
@pronomicalartist Thanks for your honest critique, I had some Problems with my scope. There was another Enemy I designed but I couldn´t get the movement, the way it satisfied me: MeeleeEnemy.png I tried fixing the bug in the last Minutes of Compo, but couldn't get it done. I´m amazed by your score :D
Really fun game, one thing that a lot of people are saying is that the bullet could be bigger and pop out more, which i totally feel like it could do. But great job!
In the web version I cannot aim as I want to :(
@mudlee played the Webversion again, couldn´t reproduce the bug.
@westmave tried again, now it works. I don't know what was the problem :)
A well made classic shooter and i like the idea to protect the last plant on earth
Nice and simple. I like it :) Had a bit of a trouble with the web version though. The game screen wasn't correcty sized
Simple, but very enjoyable, a fairly standard idea of protecting the plant bit executed well, the music was enjoyable, the controls felt nice, it could've done with some more complexity but it was very good.
Nice game especially pixel art! I really tried to save the flower. And will try again :)
Congrats on finishing a game!
Nice shooter with cool graphics.
I would make the robot shoot with a constant stream of bullets when the mouse button is held (when holding maybe slow down rotation or movement to balance this out), mashing of the right mouse button is not much fun :)
Really like the end note when you lose
Pretty basic concept, but well executed!
Ooh, the music is boppin' nice work!
Nice audio, great pixel art and a nice concept. Good job, thanks for the game!
Congratulations on finishing your first ludum dare game, I hope you return many more times and create many more great games! I liked the music. As others said, I wish I didn't have to click the left mouse button so much :).
A classic gameplay but fitting perfectly to the theme! Nice music and visuals!
And what a really interesting intro speech, very fictional ;)
Cute game, grats on completing it! The idea of protecting the last plant on earth was also on my shortlist of game concepts, but I went with something different (but still plant-based) in the end - so in a way, it was good to see someone made it a reality!
Good job, game play was solid and easy to grasp what i've supposed to do.
WOOOOOOP! Congrats on making a game!! It's no easy feat, so take some time to appreciate the awesome work you did. Then come back and make another one in the fall. And another one. And another one. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
I liked the back story and the artwork. The music is quite nice too. I've seen several other top-down shooters where the player is trying to protect a plant so I can't say it's the most original but I like the concept. The controls and gameplay were clear, high scores are a nice feature, and you even had a Quit button (a rarity on compo games). Some improvements could be made, for example holding the mouse instead of rapidly clicking would improve the player's "quality of life" a lot. The itch.io page is cropping the HTML5 version of the game so you can't see the UI -- I think you can fix this on your itch.io page settings. Oh, and don't forget to loop your music. Nice work, I hope you keep making games!
Good job! Overall it was pretty fun. I think it could benefit from health bars and some varied enemies, also the aiming seems to be a bit off, but given the time limit, what you have is great. The gameplay and concept were fun and the artwork was very well done, too. Congrats :D
Basic game concept is good. I liked the music it made it more stressful and I think that was what you aimed for. Great start for your first game!
Bigger bullets ! Autoshoot ! Also the music was not looping, I don't know if it's a bug on linux or it was designed that way :P
"P. S. if you are interested in any of the Code: Be aware it´s messy." Don't worry, it's Ludum Dare. It will ALWAYS end-up messy. You are trying to implement things before a deadline, not trying to make a maintenable game. Once LD is over, it's over :D
