I really loved the concept, could develop into a much larger thing, it even has some clicker/idle feels about it, combining yet another unusual genre. I hated that there was a timer going down, I was really really enjoying myself in the game and suddenly I saw a timer going down and knew my fun was going to be over. But exluding that I thought it was an amazing entry!

I liked this a lot, even the tutorial tolding it will be frustraiting, I didn't feel frustrated at all. This game have a lot of potential if you work more on it.

Please, take a look at my game too: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/confessional

yep, good concept, good potential, if you continue it :)

Really good game! I did get frustrated at times, but hey! That's what was great about this game!

Hey really cool idea i'd love to see an updated future version of this with everything ironed out. There was quite a few bugs, to name a few the respawn timer glitched out and was saying like 9,8,5,9,4,10,7,3,9,1,etc very annoying also i died twice without actually having lost any health so that was abit disapointing but i could see this concept being very fun after bug fixes and and with some upgrades. Overall great job! :)

It is actually really fun, and I would love to see the build where the bugs are fixed (the respawn bug especially is quite frustrating to go through). I would suggest spending some time adding some simple feedback like when hitting enemies and when you get damaged.

**I like it**

It's bullet hell management/RTS game.

I didn't think game is frustrating. it's really :sunglasses:

Control are responsive. Good visual representation of bullet (I can clearly see red bullet speed is more than yellow)

Nice RTS concept to build tower by using ore and metal so player needs to constantly searching for enemy and kill them and collects ore to upgrade.

Advice: Take few screen shots/GIF of the game and post it in feed it's really help to get reviews. it's really fun game.

Phew. When you said this game was hard, you weren't kidding. Juggling RTS tasks is a whole lot harder when you're dancing through a hail of bullets in order to do it. The graphics are great for a compo entry, really top-notch stuff. A few areas for improvement:

1. Better feedback when you hit an enemy or when you get hit, instead of having to keep an eye on the health bars. 2. Sometimes I drop metal on a building and it misses, so I have to go pick it back up and try again, all the while getting shot at. A wider collection zone would be nice. 3. I think it would help the difficulty a bit if the ore-to-metal conversion was automatic, but gradual (say, every second or so the factory will convert 5 ore into a chunk of metal). That way, it's one less thing to do, and you can go off and shoot enemies for a bit rather than sitting there and mashing the E button.

Great concept though, I really liked it.

OMG. This entry is pretty awesome. I think it can be a start point for a great game. Keep the project on. Great work 5/5. Congratulations.

A very fun game. I liked getting the collector and factory upgrades going as I prepared to attack the enemy base.

Unfortunately I hit a strange big in the last two minutes of the game -- my character started dying randomly every 5 seconds or so. I don't know why. He would always have a full healthbar. Was it because there was so much ore on screen? Was he being hit by beaming ore? Did some bool fail to get reset when I respawned my first two legitimate times?

annie-owl 2018-05-14 21:01

Really interesting concept you've got there. Reminds me "Divinity: Dragon commander" a little bit. But i don't like that your projectiles collide with the projectiles of your enemies, i think that kinda breaks the bullethell element of the game.

Interesting idea, I thought the controls were a bit overly complicated. Would have rather had the ore automatically pick up when flown over, and drop off automatically when flying over buildings, and in general for things to be done in a bit more automated fashion so I could focus on flying and shooting, while still doing the RTS-stuff.

At first I thought this game would be too complex for my taste but boy was I wrong! It has a really nice balance between risk and reward and I have played it for about 40 minutes without even noticing! I liked the little touch you added at the beginning, when you say the game is supposed to be hard. I feel it's important to communicate your intentions as the creative mind behind the project :)

The Beamer was such a nice feature! Very clever idea, it felt really useful during the gameplay.

Overall I didn't have trouble figuring out how to play and the control scheme felt natural. The ship speed and maneuverability are perfect! I have some feedbacks on what I feel that can be improved though:

- The first alien waves seems too strong, maybe you should consider increasing their power (attack, patterns and hp) progressively.

- After 5 minutes of gameplay a small bug occured and my ship kept dying randomly, even though I wasn't receiving any damage.

- A small audio feedback for damage received would be really helpful, specially when the player is multitasking.

Overall I had lots of fun and the gameplay feels really solid and polished. Congratulations on the entry!

Abraços da galera do sul do Brasil! :)

I don't find the game itself hard. Honestly it's even kinda easy since you respawn automatically.

What makes it "hard" is solely that dying/respawning bug. For me, it ruined the whole game. :(

I was having fun, then on my first death, it went downhill. I kept dying whenever I touched a building, making it difficult to upgrade. I kept respawning/dying at random. The respawn counter does weird things. Etc.

In that matter, I would have liked more communication on this page. Please let us know that there is a game breaking bug so that we don't feel as confused/surprised when it happens. It felt more frustrating than it already was (i mean, it's already super frustrating on its own) because your page doesn't acknowledge it. A bit of transparency on this regard would have been great. (it also shows you're aware of the issues, potentially avoiding comments being only about that)

Really though, without the bug, aside from the lack of general sound (and more defined graphics), it would have been super great. I was enjoying myself before the bug happened!
