Got my idea ready (not telling :P)... If you want an idea, check https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_video_game_genres and imagine type of games that are totally unrelated, like Joust and Rollercoaster Tycoon, or Street Fighter and Flight Simulator.

Fun combination. At first it feels exactly like it is, like being bombed by dozens of cannons. After a while you will get a hang of it and it will become easier.
I still would have prefered more responsive controls. The game is challenging enough that I feel it doesn't have to have hard controls too.
But good theme and very cohesive result for a marathon game!

Nice game! Graphics are really smooth and professional looking, and I like how it fits the theme.

I was unable to figure out, how to score points myself, I destroyed several cannons but i didn't seem to get points for that, and game seemed to be programmed to always stop at 100-0. Playing was quit fun though, after some time of getting used to the controls.
It's an okay game. It looks nice and the it has a potential to be addictive. But, i tried playing it but it's just hard to keep saving the net. Maybe try and start easy and then it gets harder. With a little more playability it can be really good.

@E-rvin You don't score, just survive the bombardment. Maybe I could put some points for every tower destroyed. And indeed it stops at 100 points or if you manage to destroy all the towers.
@Code Dream The game is intentionally really hard (I was thinking about old atari 2600 mechanics). I had some problems with the start of the game, I tried to put a countdown before the start to give some awareness to the player, but couldn't implement it in the end.
This wasn't fair at all! I want to score at least one times :) Nice game though :)
Interesting concept. It's really a shame you can't score points yourself (even for destroying tanks). There also wasn't any hit feedback on the tanks so at first I didn't know you could even destroy them.

Cool idea, could be improved by adding a mechanic allowing to score as a player, maybe by being able to add player's tanks and making the rules the same for player & computer. Good job :thumbsup:

Nice idea, just the goalie feels a lot floaty, I don't find that very good, but maybe it is on purpose?

@honey can you describe floaty? like he's hovering? or because it has a delay when you want to go to the other direction? I tweaked a lot the speed of the movement, but couldn't find a speed that kept me happy. In mobile the movement is more responsive than with the keyboard.

Nice idea. To me it felt like the best strategy was lining up until you hit an enemy and just sit there until he dies. Maybe add a little more variation in the shots to make it more about catching those balls. A little bit of sound would also go a long way. Cool to see a mobile first game in the jam :)

Fun little concept here, i enjoyed trying to figure out the best angle to deflect the balls. With a little refinement, it could be a really smooth mobile game. Nice work! :smile:
Looks nice and well polished. It might be nice to start out with less cannons and work your way up. Or perhaps have the goalie extend his hand towards the direction he's moving to add a little bit more impact to the movement. Fun little arcade game, could see it eating some time.

Fun mini-game! Why was there a difference in the moving mechanic between using the arrows on keyboard vs on screen? Curious :smile: I'd also recommend putting some HP bars over the towers. I wasn't sure if I had to hit them! An HP bar gives that insentive I guess.

Nice take on the theme! :) Simple, but fitting graphics. The player was a bit too inert for me and it made the game a bit hard, but I like the challenge.

@croewens the game was originally meant for mobile, it's more responsive there than with the left/ right keys.
Simple, but with enough randomization of shot trajectory I think you could get a pretty solid mobile game.

Good work! :D I really enjoyed this one. Super cool that it's quick to hop in without a download required, but you wern't kidding though, it's hard! Here's some of my pro strats, lol: in the beginning i stick to the right and take out some of the closest tanks, once they're gone you have more time to anticipate the shots coming from the back left. Also though it was funny that the goalkeeper was trying to stop what appears to be tank shells, rofl!
Game doesn't show players points, but if I killed all enemies it means that I won, right? :v: nice game, good to play on mobile. I appreciate that.

Controls on a keyboard are pretty bad in comparison to the mobile buttons. Character accelerates and decelerates which makes it pretty hard to reach the projectiles in time. The game is hard but not in the fair kind of hard since the projectiles move too quickly for you to deflect them not to mention that it seems that the time between shots are randomized. In the end you'd wind up camping and adjusting your character in one spot to deflect it correctly. The scoreboard is kind of unnecessary if the player cant get a score as well. Good work though, seems like it has potential as well.

@Iaaac I couldn't make the keyboard controls responsive enough to my liking on time. I'm currently redesigning the game to make it more logical and entertaining.
I had a blast trying this out. For some reason I couldn't score a single goal, even if it looked like my ball rebounded all the way to the other end, but it was still super fun. The graphics are great, too. Nice work!

The idea for this game is good, but it does not seem to be completely finished. But I had fun playing it, and with some sound effects/music and a bit more work on the gameplay, this can a even more interesting game to play. But overall a well made LD game.

Great graphics, but very, very hard playing in a browser. I think it needed to be much more responsive, and maybe a tad slower to start with. But, fun, and good looking, and well-constructed.

Yeah!! Lost the match 0-29. Life is hard and you can't always win. The only thing I didn't like personally is the slippery behaviour of the goalkeeper. He could take a dive to the side if the button get double pressed. Keep up the good work!
Love the concept, but the players weight is too much. It felt more like my character was on ice, and also, never underestimate the power of sound effects, even ones that you just find online. Good luck!
Nice idea, but the goalkeeper could be a little bit faster :) I really liked that you inteded on purpose to make the game hard and sticked with your vision. That's something that requires a lot of confidence from the designer, so congratulations on that too.

@Richard N Silva actually the speed of the goalkeeper is an issue on desktop. On a smartphone it behaves quite well. I couldn't fine tune it on time. But I'm creating a new version.

Neat combination of genres. The art is nice. It is definitely hard. It's really difficult to predict which direction the ball will bounce off your character towards.

Cool entry, the only shame is that any sounds are missing, but I understand that you can't fit in everything during such short time. Overall I liked this a lot despite the fact of how hard the game is. Good job!
The concept is good and with some great amount of polishing, it can become a great game
Lovely game, 100: 0. :sob: Add background music and sounds to spice it up. Maybe add turn of the tank and shots at different angles

@Rodrigo DenĂºbila yes you can destroy them by hitting them back with the ball 5 times. In the new version it should be use fewer shots but more challenging.
Fun game! Tower FC is almost my city football name (different language) so it was nice to play with them
Hmmm I really like the idea, but there are a few things that could easily be improved that would make the game more fun.
The controls are WAY too sensitive. I understand it's important to be able to move quickly from one side to the other, but it's too much right now, IMO. Also, the inertia is getting in the way as well.
The graphics look good and I had no bugs happening whatsoever. It was funny to see the score and how many goals had happened and I didn't even notice lol.
I think that the game is cool but with those fixes it will be a really fun game to play on the go on a phone :)
