Super fun with levels that make you think, looks and feels like a Nitrome game!
super fun and super hard, although it seemed like the special word was very important and yet almost impossible to get?
it is very buggy, I played the jam version, and where is it looks appealing, and sounds funny, the game itself is very broken, the jumping is delayed, I keep glitching into the ground, Its super difficult to get up to the top from the bottom, and then even with all these bugs the game is too easy, for future jams, focus on bugs when they come up, art is one thing but I have played some very fun games this jam that look terrible, just look at this game https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/trade-man-out-of-space
SUPER FUN!! this needs to be a full game, that you can get for consoles, with multiplayer, story modes, and more, this is my new favourite game this Ludum Dare!!! (although the mermaid came out of nowhere) if there had to be a critique there is a bug where if the two babies reach the cannon at the same time, both cannonballs get taken but you get only one shot, not sure if its a bug or intentional.
Super cool looking and super fun! wish there was a more clear goal
Super fun, super cool, it reminds me of a .io game! but the controls confused me as you can rotate with A and D as well?
Super funny, both courses caught me off-guard, I kept going back to see all the different outcomes, although it is a slog going through the menu, the space bar speeding it up still felt somewhat slow, it wasn't really a traditional game, somewhat boring at times, but fun nonetheless! This game deserves more ratings!
Really nice although found multiple bugs, sometimes I would run into invisible walls, I think where the corrupted files where, and I went with the first version so the boss bug of course
Super fun and super hard! if only during the game the cards had descriptions or tooltips, and the health/speed/attack etc had icons to remember
Thanks to everyone who has commented so far, The papers please style was definitely intentional, I don't have that I badly want it, and I agree with the needing music, the only problem is I am no good at music, so I just used non-copyrighted music in the title screen (credit in credits)
@tinykidtoo I'm really glad you liked it, looking back the Tetris afterwards could have worked a bit better!
@darkmonkey-inc I'm torn about going back to it, its already one of my best games, and I am pretty sure if I went back to it I would need to re-write it because code gets real ugly in a hurry, but I am glad you found it funny I was going for that!
@yilian Dang, I don't know why it froze... I'll try to look into that.
@awix Thanks, I agree yes the music department is lacking, but I made everything but the audio myself, and that's because audio is my one weakness, also your game looks cool, I'll have a look now!
@disco Thanks, I meant to add instructions in the menu, hence the huge gap between play and exit, but suddenly realised I didn't have time to do that, I'll add better instructions in the Itch.io page
@m-dam any suggestions on how to make it less boring (apart from making it more fast paced)
@raivk Thanks so much, although I can't take any credit for the sounds, I just found them online
@poffle Super glad it comes off polished and fun, I myself did notice some bugs that I didn't have time to fix, but they were very minor
@happyhour I can understand the box loading stage being too slow, I thought that myself, one of my ideas was you click and it drops, but at least you didn't have the pain I had, when developing one of the first things I do is set it from 30 FPS to 60FPS, I must have forgotten, and on the last day I realised and luckily fixed it!
To everyone who said it was slow, I actually agree, that's half the reason I made the "story mode" (if you don't know the difference its basically no difference but the story mode has a cheat) If I was to go back to it, as I said before I am not sure I will, I will definitely try to make it more intense, and stressful, I do like stressful games, also I will actually play papers please before I start work again.
@busy-games Thanks for playing it :v: also music is something I'll look into
@notlivingpool Thank you so much :)
@g4mr Those are really good ideas, I'm going to steal them!
@star-garden As I said in my previous message I think that's a really good idea!
@le-slo Wow you had a lot of text, so I might as well have a lot of text back! A lot of the points you made do have reasons for why I didn't put them in Ludum Dare, Mainly time. But that doesn't mean they are bad ideas. (the list is replying to your list with each point in the same place)
-I agree, I probably had time to make some kind of transition
-Okay, that one didn't have a reason for doing, I could probably think of something!
-There was a good reason for that, originally I was going to do that, but because of certain problems I had, I, of course, didn't, now I am thinking of it I could always make it so you can't place it if it's in something!
-Yea thank makes sense, around 15-ish packages it becomes impossible, and I was trying to prolong the game, but keep an increase of packages per day.
-That is only because of Ludum Dare, it would have taken ages to figure out how to make it go back after things stop moving, I had ideas but GameMaker doesn't like those ideas, hence why I am starting to move to Unity.
-Seems music is my main problem, I'll figure something out for a later release!
All in all thanks for playing and let me know if I should continue, at the moment I have a different long-term project that you can keep up with here: https://twitter.com/MicDoes
Its such a fun game, too bad its missing levels, I would love to see a full game of it, with a story, and maybe more clear rules, it was hard to tell what was vegan or not, I ended up realising gray wasn't vegan, but then when I was "feeding" A, I didn't even give him everything else and I still won the game? also, I love the art
It was so well made, whenever errors came up I was scared they were for my computer, not the game, and it just added to the experience
Really cute and I like the fast-paced speed of the game
The game is very cute, and it was super fun, but when it started getting interesting it ended, wish I could see more!
Simple but difficult! plays well, and looks good!
very hard but the feeling of success when you only just finish a level is awesome!
Really nice, I just wish it had a proper next level or restart screen after you win.
This was genuinely fun and hilarious, I can't stop playing, although for constructive criticism, the art style as much as it fits the game it didn't look overly good, and the running out of space is a problem at the start but as soon as you upgrade the width and height once the space problem is gone, also its hard to tell what is more valuable, as everything is around the same price. but otherwise one of the most enjoyable games I have played so far
Really cool to play, gets suddenly difficult randomly which is both good and bad, but the music and animations are so polished and so cool looking
Super cute, but also super unnerving, kind of like a cute horror game, the best part is when all the enemies spawn behind you, and then you turn around to find a bunch of them!
