Hey, great game. The graphic style is realy nice and I love the sound design. A great experience!
Great atmosphere and chilling sounds.
The game concept and graphics was great, Love the Idea!
I really like the mechanic, the audio and atmosphere is great. It would be great if you improved the communication of the mechanic better make it more tense as you run out of space. A reticule would be nice but it makes sense with the mechanic why you didn't have one.
I love this. The atmosphere it creates with the sound is awesome. The whales are freaky too... Great game :)
Loved the atmoshpere, the visuals, the sounds! It was great! Maybe I'm really bad (that's possible) but i found it really hard. My Highscore was only about 1 minutes but I died way earlier most of the time. It was a bit frustrating because I really wanted to stay longer in this weird place! (The random color option was a really good idea!)
Really cool game. How did you manage to do the lighting? I'm very impressed with that. The game is very unforgiving though, the balloons can come from behind fast, and kill you very quickly. I think it would more forgiving if touching a balloon also shrunk the arena size. The whales were really good for mood, and changing the colours is a really nice extra feature.
Glad I got a chance to play your game!
@qkerguelen the difficulty was the most challenging thing in this game and I didn't quite succeded at balancing it =( Thank you so much for your feedback!!
@zachary-granger The lighting is just a really simple shader trick, the mesh color is a lerp between 2 color (the far color and the near color) based on the distance from a point ( (0,0,0) in that case ) I've added the source if you want to see. The shrunk on touch is a really nice idea!! I tried to warn the player of ennemies positions with sound but I didn't have the time to do it properly.
The gameplay is very simple; it's not bad, but it's not as engaging as it could be due to the lack of variation. Also, you should probably have a crosshair, since aiming is apparently so important. The art style is great, though. It's cohesive despite its simplicity, and I really dig the color changing stuff! Good atmosphere, too.
@monetai thanks so much for the reply, I'll take a look at the source code - I have no experience with shaders so this will be a good start :)
I love minimalist but well put games, specially jam games, and boy oh boy, does this one knocks most of them out of the park! Great job, great mood, great implementation! Really well done! Congrats
Nice entry! The ambient sounds and sound effects fit perfectly. The color changing option is SUPER cool! Kind of tricky, but fun once you get the hang of it. Great job!
nice project man, i like it
I really liked the mood and the visual of it! I'd have spent more time on it if the difficulty was a little lower, but it was awesome! very good work!
Really good)))
Wow, this has to be the creepiest game I've played so far! The mood, sound and art all create this sinister atmosphere, which is just great. No complaints!
Such a great mood ! You got me there, I love this kind of zen and eery feeling, like it's kinda weird, but cool in its weirdness. However, the UI isn't pretty, and the game is unforgiving ! You loose fast. BUT, original and nice concept, and popping balloons is ALWAYS fun ;)
@raivk thank you for your feedback. Yes I'm definitely not an UI artist =P
Nice, a little hard to last for very long. Also the edge of the platform is not very clear, it's hard to tell where I have to be before I fall off. But nice, a little creepy.
Cool game, the art style is great and I loved the sound design! It's a little too hard for me tough, my best time is 1 minutes x) I don't really understand sometimes why I lose, maybe an enemy behind me (and the border of the map is not clear, I fell a lot) The random color is a cool idea and a nice touch!
Good work!
Amazing artstyle!
I really loved the way you arranged simple form in order to build a minimalist but gorgeous game. Props to the sound design too, as it greatly contributes to the creepy atmosphere of the game. On the gameplay side, the shooting works well. It's though, but not unenjoyable, due to the said atmosphere and to the fact that ballons are such a joy to pop. Great work !
Super cute, but also super unnerving, kind of like a cute horror game, the best part is when all the enemies spawn behind you, and then you turn around to find a bunch of them!
This was great! I felt like I was being chased by by the location markers from Google maps. The presentation and sound effects were great and really worked for the mood.
I couldn't get much over a minute, because apparently I stink. You stink for making a game where accuracy counts a ton and then not giving us a crosshair
Amazing mood, the ability to change colors was fantastic. The best part though for me was the sound design - I loved the varied pitches the sound made when the balloon things were shot. I think that was the reason the mood was so good for me.
Super devil daggers vibes, really cool submission! Congratulations! The sound design was superb. Super fun to engage with! Looking forward to seeing more from you in the future!
What a wonderfull experience and (for me) a perfect game experience.
It has maybe not such much playable content in it like in other games here because you run only in circles like in these call of duty zombie mode games and shoot enemies but it reaches a lot of fascination through his simplictic style, atmosphere and soundscape. Make the player wonder about the world is a the best plus for a game.
These whales were my first highlight. Their first appearance drives me to play the game longer and longer only because I wanted to see and hear them. The slow shrinking room was also good because it gives the player the time to enjoy the surrounding whithout a constant fear of a fast and near end.
And than I took my headphones and I was surprised again. I heard footprints. That was a highlight for me too. And I like it that you have the option to change the colors in the menu. This gives the player a specific amount of control about the upcoming experience.
I've created in this LD an atmospheric experience too but I think yours is better than my. Simpler and more easier to read (in gameplay aspect). Well done. Thank you for this and keep doing such cool games. :D
Really cool visuals, super awesome sound design, love the atmosphere. I liked the idea of the space shrinking when missing, but I feel like crosshairs would have helped and I feel like the balloons shouldn't hurt you, the disadvantage should only come from the space shrinking when missing, because runs are too short and I just want to bask in the glory of the atmosphere while I play for a longer period of time haha. Overall a really cool game though!
I really like the game and dynamics. Graphics are nice to see, sounds matches very good with the atmosphere. You definitely can feel the stress coming with the "anamy balloons". And it does not feel repetitive, i feel challenged each time. Great game !
Whoa there's a whale? Never managed long enough to see them, I guess..
Anyways I found that the fog could be reset by pressing Escape. And does it reset correctly after death? I felt like it's much farther if I went to the main menu first.
***Edit :*** After playing again a couple of times I also found that I didn't even need to move as the enemies won't kill me if I just stay still. Combined with the aforementioned Escape exploit, I became kinda invincible.
Oh and I realized that I could also move on the lower ground, not just the center pedestal. Bummer. Those majestic whales though...
