This is really fast! My empire perished quickly. Love the music.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD33 → Aetri

Interesting submission! It was so fast that I could barely play it, but I did enjoy what you had. Reminded me of classic board games and stuff like that.
cool. contratulations for this game
Great game, fast and has good music, would be easier to play if you could make all new ships move to a certain tile
This game... is just amazing! job well done! Music, Idea, Art well done! libGdx or just java2d ?
Thanks everyone for playing! :)
Tips if the enemy is too fast, there's a pause option (either click on Pause in the menu or press key 'P' ingame) that allows you to take actions in peace!
Good luck!
>libGdx or just java2d ?
Java Swing :)
Impressive stuff :) again great job!
Thanks a lot! Your game was great as well!
can't run that on mac :(
nice game!
Game looks nice and with potential but it is quite hard and things happen too fast
I didn't really understand what happened there. Every time i tried to play I got crushed really hard. I also didn't get what changes when the turn ticks.
Some UI would greatly improve it. The lack of story in the game doesn't help you to convey the theme of the game.
Good job nonetheless!
Nice entry! Does the game end? Can you win/lose? Or every time you get crushed you simply respawn somewhere else?
>Nice entry! Does the game end? Can you win/lose? Or every time you get crushed you simply respawn somewhere else?
Every time you die or you eliminate all enemies a new map is created. A ending exist though. :)
Camera pans wayyy too fast, but I really enjoyed the game. It's like fast-paced Risk!
Very nice music, but hard to understand
Nice game, I liked the music and art style. Was a bit confusing though, I was not entirely sure what was going on.
Once you figure out what to do, this is a pretty fun fast-clicking strategy! It can be a little hard to keep the focus on the ship you're using sometimes, but until reliable 6 directional controls can be found, I guess that's unavoidable.
I would suggest checking to see if the enemy has any planets or ships left as an end condition, though, since cleaning up the last few enemy squares is a bit of a dissapointing way to finish a well played game.
Epic music! The game makes my head spin, maybe disable the auto screen scrolling?
I got the hang of the game quite quickly even without a tutorial or help screen, it's a nice simple game and I love the idea of an action board game. I found the difficulty wasn't balanced as it was very hard to get anywhere when the game was unpaused, but if I paused it then I could just take over the map unopposed. Very interesting mechanics though, a lot of potential here!
Really good game but really hard! I managed to win once but I had to be really quick and lucky.
The sound design and art are neat and bring a nice tense atmosphere.
Thank you for this submission.
I'd love to see it a little more polished. With smooth camera moves and animated ships :-)
Great job!
The tactics you can put into place are nice(like guarding bottlenecks) however sometimes you lose against enemies that are less than you(I nearly won but lost because of this several times, 400 vs 380 in the last game), while that is annoying, comebacks are frequent which is good.
Overall nice entry.
Your java didn't like my java, and I love coffee. (sad panda) Maybe next time you might have a mac friendly!
Damn nice!
IT has been a little too difficult to get in the peace of the game.. but then it was funny and challenging!
Ultra fast control battles! Nice!
Well done!
Nice game, it took me a while to figure out, but once I got it, it became a fun game about territory control. The only thing I never quite worked out was why I sometimes seemed to lose to weaker fleets - there didn't seem to be much indication of why this happened (ie, was it randomness or tile-based bonuses etc?).

Each number represent a dice, making the game similar to Risk - there I added a bonus to the larger fleet in each battle, making it more likely to win.
So yes there's a random chance of loss, though the larger your fleet is compared to the other the smaller the chance to loose the battle is!
Good job! I had to play with pause because my brain was too slow for this
Love how fast-paced it is. Really enjoyed the music too!
Nice game with the hexagonal grid system but hard to get into.
I didn't get the idea with the rounds, should I unpress the pause for the AI turn or not? And moving camera with each move looks weird. But thanks for the borad game, i like to see them here.
Interesting idea to have a real-time turn-based hybrid. It's a bit difficult to work out what's going on though and I don't really know how it fits the theme.
"Aetri is a real time strategy game that's inspired by the classic board games of it's genre."
You should have tried to simply make it a turn based strategy by default - yes I know there is a pause button - and it would be good.
Other than that, the game tries to rush and I know what was your original destination, but you didn't reach that. Summing up: this isn't the next clickfest of the era.
This strategy game is too fast paced to be enjoyable by default for anyone who likes strategy games in the first place.
