Camera pans wayyy too fast, but I really enjoyed the game. It's like fast-paced Risk!
Phenomenal game, I see comments about it being too easy? I played the patch and man it's definitely not too easy. If I had any criticism it would be that the UI rotating makes it tough to just glance over and check health quickly, so maybe it should be fixed in place. But seriously, loved the graphics, loved the sound, loved the gameplay. Feels correctly balanced, now at least!
Very strong game. Was hoping for a touch more feedback as to what answers were right/wrong as I was going, but that's a small problem. One of the better entries, really strong tie in to the theme and fantastic mood-setting!
Cute idea. The cooldown on abilities is painfully slow, though, and that's what actually makes the game fun. I'd relax those so you can use them more frequently.
Runtime error as well :(
I wish I could make pixels explode half as well as you - really fantastic animations and physics. Good amounts of chaos. LOVE the leaderboard.
Hooray for point and clicks! Enjoyed this game, felt a little "The Cave" inspired. The ending tie-in to the theme felt a little forced, but good job on puzzle design!
Platforming mechanic feels good, screen shake is an excellent touch. Consider a score different than the seemingly random blue dots - some games I'd go a really long time before seeing blue so my score was low but I thought I had done well.
I like the idea of a reverse TD, but for the life of me could not figure out the objective. Made it to the left side and nothing happened. Didn't know where to go from there, didn't know if I was clicking buttons in the planning menu and, if so, what they were doing.
I think some of the reviewers didn't read the HELP menu on how to play. Once I did, I found it straightforward. Nice job on using different characters to do different mechanics. The jumping noise got a little annoying, and the platforming mechanics were occasionally sticky or strange, but there's a lot of fun nuance here in switching characters, some enemies attacking you only if you have the bonus, etc.
Mmmm clicker games. Love 'em to death. Unfortunately, these puppies rise and fall on the ability to keep unlocking new things, and once you start getting employees, the game kind of breaks. Awesome entry, just needs some super expensive things that aren't upgrades! (Maybe super-powered employees qua different color dinos?)
Pretty dang good game for a weekend! Consider flashing or exploding a shot when it hits the tank so I know it actually hit the tank and is dealing damage.
Sadly just one person here, but LOVE the art!
Love the clunky controls, it feels like you're moving a giant sea beast.
It seems like no matter what I grade, my bad meter goes down. No feedback on why, for example, grading someone an F means I'm less bad.
Having trouble closing the tutorial window :(
Strong aesthetic! Would've loved a little pensive music to fit the scene.
REALLY strong soundtrack. Would love some player feedback on killing an enemy - a little graphic or sfx so I know I'm doing it right. Same when I'm attacked - didn't realize I had health!
Could not run, even with the "install from here" folder :( Just keep getting "Abandoned Monster has stopped working."
A cute little platformer, but the end message isn't really connect to the rest of the game. Love the art style, and platforming mechanics feel good!
While I love the look, occasionally the text is tough to read.
Good concept, but the platforming mechanics themselves are really tough to use. Collision detection and shooting felt...off? Somehow? Loved the monster himself though!
Cute little matching/memory game. Even though it's useless, happy there is jumping. Text could be sped up just a tad!
Th actual shooting component is great, but the max speed vs. playable space area is a little off the charts. It's easy to speed way beyond the enemies in a level, and I spent most of the game trying to find them rather than actually fighting.
Good concept, but never made it very far. The laser graphics cues show strong game design ideas - just show me them a little longer before the missile comes!
Bugs: typo in game over message, start button doesn't actually work on the button, exit button doesn't seem to work.
Spent more time playing this than I thought I would for such a straightforward game. Really enjoyed hearing the different instruments get isolated depending on who I killed. Kudos - now let's get a leaderboard or win condition or something!
Nice! A really engaging platformer, well done on controller tutorial, sfx, player feedback. Enjoyed it!
Bugs prevented me from killing the last person :(
Good setting tone, platforming mechanic is OK. Buttons feel a little off from where they're actually clicked.
Hey @Ceosol! If you see this, I'm curious to know more about the problem you're experiencing. All of the other bugs etc. we kind of knew were in the game, but you've described a problem I've never experienced before. If you see this, it would be awesome if you could email me more about your set-up and what was happening - dean@vidarthegame.com
Thanks so much for playing, and hopefully we can get it fixed for you!
Cute! Jumping could use some love, that's where I'd focus my efforts for next time :)
One of the best I've seen so far, particularly from a music and art standpoint! Love the "juice" in the game. Unfortunately found a number of bugs - climbing to the top, then falling down, immediately kills me. Then, when I hit restart, it doesn't reset the camera so I can't see anymore.
So far, one of my favorites I've played!!
Every time I try to download it tells me it's not a valid archive :(
Tried to download and got "not a valid archive" error :\
Really, really strong audio design.
Music really sets the mood. There are a lot of "stealthy games" for this LD, but the power mechanic really adds a great new twist. Found it incredibly challenging.
More of an animated short than a game, sorry the theme didn't inspire you!
Loved the sprites for the people, really good work on that front! Found myself craving feedback on the size of the rocket explosion - just a single "boom" graphic telling me the size when it hit would have really helped on this front.
Holy cow. This is gorgeous, this is innovative, this is really something else. TREMENDOUS kudos to you.
Really, really great game. Audio is superb. Visually stunning. Mood is wonderful. Consider after the first areas adding a new "mechanic" so it doesn't become too monotonous. I'm floored, seriously, this is amazing.
Sadly won't install for me! Some kind of .NET error?
Movement feels a little slow to be enjoyable, but I like the delay on the attack!
No real reason to care that you're doing such allegedly horrible things. Would anyone ever actually take the left path?
Fun little space shooter! SFX when something happens (score increase, damage done, shooting) would give some nice "player feedback" when they do something right or wrong.
I was kind of middling on this game until the judging at the end. And then I was like "whoa! it's tracking all of this??" and got really excited. The problem is, the build up isn't terribly "fun." But super cool concept.
Best I've played so far, strong puzzle mechanics and innovated twist on a common puzzle theme.
