LD33 — You are the Monster

HanniBall by snooze82 2015-08-24T17:38:00

A fun little game, feels a little shoehorned into the theme maybe?

Swarm by Cosine 2015-08-24T17:16:00

Good concept, but I need a little feedback on what's happening. When I...I guess change levels? I don't know but sometimes I teleport.

Aetri by oskardevelopment 2015-08-25T20:22:00

Camera pans wayyy too fast, but I really enjoyed the game. It's like fast-paced Risk!

The Congress of Monsterdom by Artylo 2015-08-24T17:02:00

Phenomenal game, I see comments about it being too easy? I played the patch and man it's definitely not too easy. If I had any criticism it would be that the UI rotating makes it tough to just glance over and check health quickly, so maybe it should be fixed in place. But seriously, loved the graphics, loved the sound, loved the gameplay. Feels correctly balanced, now at least!

Path of a Psychopath by eemmbbeerr 2015-08-26T17:03:00

Very strong game. Was hoping for a touch more feedback as to what answers were right/wrong as I was going, but that's a small problem. One of the better entries, really strong tie in to the theme and fantastic mood-setting!

One of Us by radethdart 2015-08-25T00:55:00

Cute idea. The cooldown on abilities is painfully slow, though, and that's what actually makes the game fun. I'd relax those so you can use them more frequently.

Royal Flesh by jcsirron 2015-08-25T00:59:00

Runtime error as well :(

Entropy by sprawl 2015-08-24T19:01:00

Really strong game, love the clever easy-to-understand mechanics which build to get harder and harder. Soothing soundscape. Don't know that it fits the theme, necessarily, but would love this on mobile!

Sucker Punch by Shaw 2015-08-25T15:40:00

I wish I could make pixels explode half as well as you - really fantastic animations and physics. Good amounts of chaos. LOVE the leaderboard.

The Monster Within by OberynMartell 2015-08-26T16:53:00

Hooray for point and clicks! Enjoyed this game, felt a little "The Cave" inspired. The ending tie-in to the theme felt a little forced, but good job on puzzle design!

You Monster! by Jared Sartin 2015-08-24T17:30:00

Platforming mechanic feels good, screen shake is an excellent touch. Consider a score different than the seemingly random blue dots - some games I'd go a really long time before seeing blue so my score was low but I thought I had done well.

Crossy Chasm by ceosol 2015-08-24T18:51:00

I like the idea of a reverse TD, but for the life of me could not figure out the objective. Made it to the left side and nothing happened. Didn't know where to go from there, didn't know if I was clicking buttons in the planning menu and, if so, what they were doing.

Manster Ltd by burjandedy 2015-08-25T15:31:00

I think some of the reviewers didn't read the HELP menu on how to play. Once I did, I found it straightforward. Nice job on using different characters to do different mechanics. The jumping noise got a little annoying, and the platforming mechanics were occasionally sticky or strange, but there's a lot of fun nuance here in switching characters, some enemies attacking you only if you have the bonus, etc.

Hello Dear Friend by ruthiepee 2015-08-24T19:33:00

Mmmm clicker games. Love 'em to death. Unfortunately, these puppies rise and fall on the ability to keep unlocking new things, and once you start getting employees, the game kind of breaks. Awesome entry, just needs some super expensive things that aren't upgrades! (Maybe super-powered employees qua different color dinos?)

Monster VS Tanks by wilpel1234 2015-08-24T19:39:00

Pretty dang good game for a weekend! Consider flashing or exploding a shot when it hits the tank so I know it actually hit the tank and is dealing damage.

Nom by Ovidios 2015-08-24T19:27:00

REALLY strong game, love the camera idea, love the twist on the typical clicker-game by adding rockets to click, love the victory music ;) Good length of game too.

A battle for the graveyard by Yamzho 2015-08-24T19:51:00

Sadly just one person here, but LOVE the art!

Release The Kraken by AndyGates 2015-08-25T15:43:00

Love the clunky controls, it feels like you're moving a giant sea beast.

Bad Professor by Hambone 2015-08-26T16:41:00

It seems like no matter what I grade, my bad meter goes down. No feedback on why, for example, grading someone an F means I'm less bad.

Monsters by Alexander Ramsay-Baggs 2015-08-25T01:02:00

Having trouble closing the tutorial window :(

You Have Killed Them by Boehrsi 2015-08-24T14:35:00

Strong aesthetic! Would've loved a little pensive music to fit the scene.

Monster or Costume by fodinabor 2015-08-24T15:15:00

REALLY strong soundtrack. Would love some player feedback on killing an enemy - a little graphic or sfx so I know I'm doing it right. Same when I'm attacked - didn't realize I had health!

Abandoned Monster by BSODDevTeam 2015-08-24T14:29:00

Could not run, even with the "install from here" folder :( Just keep getting "Abandoned Monster has stopped working."

Monsters In The Woods by snakezito 2015-08-24T15:26:00

A cute little platformer, but the end message isn't really connect to the rest of the game. Love the art style, and platforming mechanics feel good!

passive-aggressive vegetarian game by increpare 2015-08-24T16:49:00

While I love the look, occasionally the text is tough to read.

Jalu - green-eyed monster by petitpois 2015-08-24T17:34:00

Good concept, but the platforming mechanics themselves are really tough to use. Collision detection and shooting felt...off? Somehow? Loved the monster himself though!

Competition Inside Monsterous Inc by MarelisGameDev 2015-08-24T19:17:00

Cute little matching/memory game. Even though it's useless, happy there is jumping. Text could be sped up just a tad!

The Stars are Watching by Xanderzoo 2015-08-25T00:50:00

Th actual shooting component is great, but the max speed vs. playable space area is a little off the charts. It's easy to speed way beyond the enemies in a level, and I spent most of the game trying to find them rather than actually fighting.

Manhattan Monstrosity by Twiebs 2015-08-24T15:30:00

Good concept, but never made it very far. The laser graphics cues show strong game design ideas - just show me them a little longer before the missile comes!

Bugs: typo in game over message, start button doesn't actually work on the button, exit button doesn't seem to work.

The March of the Dropped Band by Dukio 2015-08-24T14:40:00

Spent more time playing this than I thought I would for such a straightforward game. Really enjoyed hearing the different instruments get isolated depending on who I killed. Kudos - now let's get a leaderboard or win condition or something!

Eye In The Sky by djfariel 2015-08-25T01:06:00

Nice! A really engaging platformer, well done on controller tutorial, sfx, player feedback. Enjoyed it!

Wolf by Crown Games 2015-08-24T17:27:00

Bugs prevented me from killing the last person :(

Monstermanity by D3giler 2015-08-25T00:40:00

Good setting tone, platforming mechanic is OK. Buttons feel a little off from where they're actually clicked.

Kraken Skulls by razavidn 2015-08-26T16:32:00

Hey @Ceosol! If you see this, I'm curious to know more about the problem you're experiencing. All of the other bugs etc. we kind of knew were in the game, but you've described a problem I've never experienced before. If you see this, it would be awesome if you could email me more about your set-up and what was happening - dean@vidarthegame.com

Thanks so much for playing, and hopefully we can get it fixed for you!

Dragon Quest by Digized 2015-08-24T19:19:00

Cute! Jumping could use some love, that's where I'd focus my efforts for next time :)

The Ant by 2pae 2015-08-24T15:35:00

One of the best I've seen so far, particularly from a music and art standpoint! Love the "juice" in the game. Unfortunately found a number of bugs - climbing to the top, then falling down, immediately kills me. Then, when I hit restart, it doesn't reset the camera so I can't see anymore.

So far, one of my favorites I've played!!

Lure.Lair.Lunch by daveh 2015-08-24T19:21:00

Every time I try to download it tells me it's not a valid archive :(

ORDEAL by Don_Martinez 2015-08-24T17:24:00

Tried to download and got "not a valid archive" error :\

Alien Bombardment by Tigris 2015-08-24T16:47:00

Really, really strong audio design.

Fear of the Dark by JamesTanm 2015-08-25T00:27:00

Music really sets the mood. There are a lot of "stealthy games" for this LD, but the power mechanic really adds a great new twist. Found it incredibly challenging.

The Life of an RPG Monster by YerghaizVerot 2015-08-24T15:00:00

More of an animated short than a game, sorry the theme didn't inspire you!

TitanZ by MegasDragos1 2015-08-24T14:49:00

Loved the sprites for the people, really good work on that front! Found myself craving feedback on the size of the rocket explosion - just a single "boom" graphic telling me the size when it hit would have really helped on this front.

Abduction by SudoDave 2015-08-24T19:58:00

Really spectacular entry!!! Great level of difficulty, theme/story is implemented in an excellent way, just wish there was some music/sound :)

CYCLE by Dianouille 2015-08-24T17:12:00

Holy cow. This is gorgeous, this is innovative, this is really something else. TREMENDOUS kudos to you.

no hope by sergicollado 2015-08-24T16:57:00

Really, really great game. Audio is superb. Visually stunning. Mood is wonderful. Consider after the first areas adding a new "mechanic" so it doesn't become too monotonous. I'm floored, seriously, this is amazing.

The Peeler by Catquatwa 2015-08-24T16:43:00

Sadly won't install for me! Some kind of .NET error?

Murderers by Gammel 2015-08-24T15:46:00

Like the intro short story, like the "use health as a resource" mechanic - both innovative and fits the mood! Needs a little feedback, graphically, when I use my primary attack. I didn't realize it existed until I checked the tutorial.

Treasure Keeper by jelch 2015-08-24T19:42:00

Movement feels a little slow to be enjoyable, but I like the delay on the attack!

Are you the monster by adrenalineChallenger 2015-08-24T15:10:00

No real reason to care that you're doing such allegedly horrible things. Would anyone ever actually take the left path?

SPAGHETTI JOURNEY by d_pendikov 2015-08-24T15:42:00

Fun little space shooter! SFX when something happens (score increase, damage done, shooting) would give some nice "player feedback" when they do something right or wrong.

The Greater Good by LucaRedwood 2015-08-24T17:23:00

I was kind of middling on this game until the judging at the end. And then I was like "whoa! it's tracking all of this??" and got really excited. The problem is, the build up isn't terribly "fun." But super cool concept.

Conscience of a Crythrope by pighead10 2015-08-24T15:02:00

Best I've played so far, strong puzzle mechanics and innovated twist on a common puzzle theme.
