10 Minute Galaxy by machinas 2010-12-20T03:30:00
This is quite fun! Reminds me a bit of the game Strange Adventures in Infinite Space.

This is quite fun! Reminds me a bit of the game Strange Adventures in Infinite Space.
Strangely satisfying.
I can't believe this is written in puzzlescript!
I finally figured it out! Neat idea... it'd be cool if there were more combinations.
This is really impressive! It's pretty hard to tell what everything does. Tooltips would be super helpful.
LOVE this mechanic. The accumulation feels satisfying in a Katamari-Damacy-ish way. I feel like there's tons of possibility here... your camera could zoom out as you take on stronger and stronger enemies. You could have different types of enemies which influence your growth. I'd definitely buy a more fleshed-out version of this.
Amazing music!
Really fun mechanic!
Great idea and execution! I like the clean graphical style and the smooth difficulty curve of the tutorial.
Really great game! I got 531,683 points at 1m12.7s… beat that :)
That should say "1m12.7..."
rip unicode
1,054,443 in 1m26s! So close to 100%!
Hey neat, a Scratch entry!
Nice. It reminds me a bit of Nuclear Throne.
Thanks stvr! You can control the targeting reticle using a joystick in port 1.
I did it, I won!
All those hours playing Cookie Clicker finally payed off!
All those hours playing Cookie Clicker finally paid off!
Whatever you're doing with the audio is really neat!
Now I wish this were a real social network!
Really fun game! I wish it would "scan area" automatically... got kinda old pressing that button over and over...
Love the lighting effects! Splitting the game into "levels" might give more of a feeling of progress. The gameplay is really smooth but the game starts to feel same-y after a bit.
I always like tower defense games where you can build walls! It's weird how the towers all shoot in the exact same way. The tower that slows creeps doesn't make as much sense when there's no AOE.
I don't understand what makes you fall off, but once you get the timing down this is pretty fun.
The high score list was a nice touch.
It's hard to get around without running into anything. Maybe that's the point!
Wish I had more ammo!
Fun game, but I wish there were something more to the mechanics, like a way to combo or something. As it is, there's no real strategy -- you just match with the closest available tile.
Nice bullet patterns! I'm not sure what the standard hitbox size for these games is, but it feels too big to me here…
I really like the graphical style here! This kind of game has been done to death, but I enjoyed it anyway.
The two-resource system kind of reminds me of 868-HACK. I felt like I often couldn't attack due to a lack of resources or the proper ability (e.g. all the enemies are below but I can't shoot down, and I don't want to spend the resources on a "KILL"). Really compelling gameplay overall, though -- I agree it would make a great phone game!
Oops, thanks for pointing that out, anokta. I removed the right-click debug action so it doesn't confuse people.
~testing~
Please stop making games.
Really cool idea! I felt like I didn't have much control over the planet, and the minimap was difficult to figure out (you start "right on top of yourself" so you can't really see the dot at the beginning). With a little more work this could be a great game, though.
This game is hard to stop playing!
Neat idea. It's kind of hard to understand what's going on, or what all the numbers mean.
Really clever idea for a game!
The mechanic of running into enemies and collecting things is quite satisfying. I wish it went longer before becoming completely impossible to survive, or that there were some way to survive even when the screen is full of asteroids.
Really clever game! Very hard though T_T
Hey it's ekun, the master of ludum dare rhythm games :D
I have one small comment -- I wish there was some way to distinguish when something is on an offbeat. It can be hard to read the notes when there's syncopation. Other than that, this is an amazing game! The synchronization between audio, visuals and controls is perfect.
I wish the car were less fragile when you're not boosting. Otherwise this was a lot of fun!
I like the graphical style of this game. The mechanics are a bit inscrutable, but once you figure it out it's pretty fun.
You've got a really nice graphical style here... I keep dying to the dogs though :(
I thought the stressful audio worked pretty well -- it definitely made me want to avoid the enemies! I wish it were easier to tell what color you needed to kill the enemies... the dark theme sets a nice mood, but it makes it hard to tell what's going on.
Simple but tricky! Nice work.
Fun game! I like the wall-sliding mechanics, and the swapping feels really good. Wish there was a death animation though
Amazing game! The story and mechanics fit together perfectly, and the levels were fun without being excessively hard. The way the bgm changes when a TV is active is just perfect. Great design, great audio, everything about this game is great!
Nice work... it's amazing how much fun you can get out of such a simple gameplay mechanic!
I also got stuck on the hoverbike part. I'm really into the style of this game though!
I finally figured out the hoverbike part!
Clever take on the theme, and a fun game too!
It's really fun to move around like this! It would be nice to have some way to win the game, though.
Haha this is awesome. Great writing.
Really simple and fresh puzzle mechanic! This didn't work in Safari for whatever reason, but I was able to play in Chrome.
This is a really clever mechanic! More variety (different kinds of enemies/powerups/levels/etc) would add a lot to the replay value.
I like the design of the monster!
This is fun. I like how fast the people run when you roar at them multiple times.
Very well-written! The door code part was a bit tedious, but otherwise this was quite fun.
This game has a really innovative graphical style!
Really elegant puzzle mechanic. I'd love to have this on my phone!
Clever puzzle mechanics! I had fun all the way through.
What a brilliant idea! All the elements of the game combined really well, from the gameplay mechanics to the music. I wasn't expecting an ending, so I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. I agree that the timelapse effect is a bit too flickery, though.
Nice job making a fun multiplayer game!
This game's got a real oldschool feel to it. Some cool graphical effects in there for sure! I do wish you could see a *little* more of your surroundings though.
Whaaat? What browser are you using?
OK, sorry about the crash: I hadn't tested on Firefox. Should be good now!
I love the control scheme. It seemed "flipped" at first (press right to turn left?) but I got used to it quickly!
Addictive game! My high score (so far!) is 15. I don't think it's too hard at all; it's really fun when you start getting in the zone and making decisions quickly. Three small bits of feedback... feel free to ignore them if you want, the game is really fun as is! First, the Power Downs make "exploring" less fun, since you don't know whether something's a Power Up or a Power Down until you touch it. It would be nice if Power Downs looked different, like a spiky ball or something. Or maybe you could try leaving them out? Second, the collision detection feels pretty strict. Making it more lenient could make close calls more exciting. Third, I wish you could restart the game immediately after dying (like Super Hexagon :).
Anyway, super fun game: I think it would work great on a mobile device!
So hard. T_T
It's really fast! The hitboxes are kind of finicky, but it definitely has that "just one more play" feeling.
The controls were really solid and the powerups kept things interesting. Cool game!
Really solid two-button game! I love the low-fi graphical style. One small annoyance: after you shoot an enemy, it can still kill you until it has disappeared.
I really like that thing you're doing with the music! I found myself shooting to the beat. Maybe an opportunity for a musical combo system? :)
The artwork, music, and dialog are all on point. Amazing game!
How did you make all this in 72 hours? What kind of preparation did you do? :o
A fun mechanic with some interesting levels!
Cute :)
This is one of the most fun games I've played so far! The controls work really well.
The simple building mechanics were surprisingly addictive! Great game.
I liked the graphical style and the music. It was frustrating to run out of the brown resource: it doesn't seem like there's any way to recover once that happens. Great work though!
Stylish! I got 1:36.78 :)
The music is really good!
I got the following error:

This game was worth the effort it took to get working. Amazing graphical style and clever puzzles!
This is an impressive achievement! The controls are kinda frustrating at first, but I ended up having fun anyway.
Nice game, playing against the computer was fun!
This is surprisingly fun for how simple it is! Nice work.
BTW, there seem to be some issues in Firefox. I'll look into it more when I'm less tired.
OK, things should be working better in Firefox now, thanks for the bug reports!
If you're confused about what to do (the game really doesn't do a great job explaining it…), here are two tips to get you started:
1. Your first goal is to place a gateway under a white transportation beam. It will make more units for you.
2. Next, build a few pillars to increase the unit limit (shown at the top of the screen). Once you've built some, the gateway should start producing stuff.
After that it's up to you!
Stylish execution of a great idea!
I love the style and use of the theme! Cool stuff.
Cool concept! The torus layout might be easier to understand if you replicated the game field.
final score:
manilla folders (x8)
pine cone (x18)
grit (x107)
loose nails (x4)
bread roll
pidgeon pelt (x2)
~*confidence*~
drum sticks (x3)
hippo pen key
This is a great puzzle mechanic! Nice use of the theme.
Impressive! It's always cool to see multiplayer stuff in LD.
Porting is explicitly allowed by the rules!
