Very charming game. Smooth graphics make the game gorgeous (enemy character design is brilliant). Also the audio suits the game very nicely.

My favorite game so far, so good! Well done!
1328m!
Aaaaaand time to play something else >.>
I almost died of laughter at the scene with the fire. Odd, but in a completely hilarious way!
Was not expecting that big a fish! Really needs a pointer so you know where the lighthouse is though, got lost a couple times hoping I could find the lighthouse before running out of fuel... BUT if this is intended that is fine, because can be quite realistic :)
Best thing about this was that it feels really good to shoot the gun. The camera shake coupled with the recoil is a really nice touch!
Bloody missiles! I keep dying at around 800 meters! If I wasn't rushing to get to 1k I could probably actually finish it :P Very good gameplay!
Good fun! There is a bug sometimes where the player moves in one direction constantly, but it can be fixed by spamming the movement keys. A nice little puzzle to pass the time.
Very good graphics. The idea of controlling the platformer bit with the mouse was a bit interesting :P
Cute little animation with the nose :P
"Try and be happier next time"
FINE THEN I WILL GAME!
Actually that's a lie, I'm pretty happy. Because I played your game. No really. Very charming, original and I loved the graphics.
Those enemy things are creepy as hell! Also love the jump noise :)
Fun little game! The title screen is gorgeous and I love the little intro sequence. Shame you couldn't make the compo but a good game none the less!
Gorgeous game accompanied by a perfect guitar track. This game has so much charm. I loved the little voices of the inhabitants!
AGH. MUST DO THINGS FASTER :C
Fantastic game, your description made the game very comedic too. Well done!
Fantastic charming game, I like the pace of the action and its an original and fun concept. The story art may look hastily drawn, but it really suits the game nicely. Well done!
I died from hunger half a second after my first worm spawned. Needs a little balancing :P
Very original idea and excellent art, altogether makes a very good entry. Well done!
Music is good, but it really isn't clear at the start what the goal is. Just putting walls somewhere? And then the zombies go through them. I was a little confused.
A really great spinoff on the theme. You kept the game very simple (which i sadly didn't do for my libgdx game!) and that means it is really effective, well done!
The intro was fantastic. I found it really difficult however to control the ship, I know but its space physics, but I would often find myself going off screen and unable to track my location. Still, I had a lot of fun!
At first I thought the controls were quite clumsy, but then realised this simply added to the fun and struggle of the game! Very well thought out and original :)
I equally found it very hard as well! I may be unobservant but I found it quite hard to tell why I died as I just died when the boss performed no animation.
I found this difficult to navigate before I decided to maximize the window, then got an idea of where the (torpedos?) were going. Killing sharks needs to be more satisfying however, with either a score tally or other feedback.
The graphics are gorgeous, and the mining mechanic is nice and simple (although it took me a little while to figure out how to get food). However what really sold this to me was the sound effects, which sounds like they were all done with your voice! Max humor rating!
There are a lot of fishing games published for the competition, but this is easily the best so far. Simply cos it was easy to understand and play. Well designed!
Peaceful relaxing game, great on mood, although I didn't get how it fits with the theme. Reminds me of Black and White :)
Very good on all levels! Very charming :)
This was absolutely nuts. And I loved it.
Some fantastic art for 48 hour compo. I found it a bit difficult at the start to figure out what to do however. Also found it odd that "patching the leak" was always a bad choice!
Really enjoyable entry. Gorgeous graphics. The mood is perfect and the action feels very smooth. Great way of incorporating a jump mechanic and a kill mechanic into one button instead of simply jumping on characters heads. I found it a bit tricky to sometimes hit enemies, but other than that it was great.
Really cleverly designed. Game gets you thinking all the way through "what is this about?" and just as your interest peaks it hits you with that ending. Great method of getting the message across. Also, very good interpretation of the theme.
That shotgun. Lol.
Hillarious game. One of the best concepts I have seen so far with an unconventional use of guns :)
A simple an original idea, presented in a fantastically innovative way. Loved the mood here.
Its quite fun slapping the seagulls which are perched around the dock, but I find it annoyingly hard to try and smack the ones that are flying around! Otherwise good game and great idea!
Excellent game. Very well set mood thanks to good graphics and audio. Certainly reminds me of Stick of Truth!
Top score after 2 tries was 62 mins. Seems the game favors damage over anything else :P
This is artistically fantastic. I loved the animation.
Why do you have no category for graphics?
The game has a gorgeous aesthetic, and the random level generation seems quite good. The only problem was that I would occasionally get stuck on invisible terrain.
Game ran just fine. The reflecting bullets made the gameplay really interesting, but I didn't like how an enemy could spawn pretty much right next to you at the start of the round.
Hi thanks ajopart. Yes I thought about incorperating shield regen from the gems but thought it was harder without it (and I wanted to keep the game hard). The skull represents difficulty, and directly influences the speed at which the game scrolls, as well as the multiplier to your gem score.
Really like the graphics, took me a bit long to figure out the point of trees. But yeah it was an enjoyable little game :)
Very smart puzzle game. Great mechanics and I really enjoyed the music.
Typing games are always wonderfully satisfying. I have to second what someone else said; there should be some sort of punishment for punching in an incorrect letter.
Gorgeous game, a lovely gem to see something hand painted in a game. Music is wonderfully fitting for the game too. My only criticism is that I think the bombs should influence the character's love more, as at first I found it difficult to see if they had much effect other than scattering the characters. Very well done!
The weapon crafting mechanic really had me enticed for ages to try out different combinations. At one point I wasn't worried about killing things, was just trying to make cool looking weapons. Very well done!
At first I was thinking "snake gun? wtf?" then I fired it and pissed myself laughing. Ridiculously awesome mechanic. Very well thought out game.
Thats not really a sword is it? lol.
This is very well done if you have done this from scratch without a library. Unless this was a personal challenge however I would look into using an engine for future jams like LibGDX, you will find you can get a lot nicer product out within the allotted time.
Also in a game jam its not how well structured your code that matters: unfortunately that is not a category for rating! Jam code is usually messy and uncommented as hell (at least mine is). Additionally if you want us to peak at your code try uploading to something like github so its easier for the public to peak at.
Game's art is gorgeous! Its only drawback was that it took way too long to get that first upgrade. Levels should be easier to obtain at first.
Yeah have to second the time restriction or something that increased in challenge as you progressed, would be a nice touch. Still, great for your first LD well done!
Good looking little shooter which was easy to get the hang of. I feel like I didn't have much room to move around however, and I didn't understand how the weapon fits the theme.
Game has lovely charm. Really pushing me to read faster too :P
I really enjoyed this little game. The graphics are really well done (makes tiles look really fun as cubes). Game mechanics are also good. My only criticism is that the sound effects were all quite laggy for me. Every time I would kill an enemy the sound would start 1-2 seconds later.
Gorgeous, and love the music. A real gem of a game.
Really struggled to progress with this. The fallout from the missiles seemed to be random and would often result in halting any progress even if I didn't die. Non-random fallout would mean it would be easier to almost aim with the chopper. Still, great idea and graphicly fantastic.
Really nice and effective game. Impressive to see this done in 48 hours with LibGDX. Music was very good at setting the mood.
Oh god I think I need a new mouse :(
Game transitions difficulty very well. Really nice upgrade mechanics, and need to have a decent strategy to win. Really impressed with game mechanics. Well balanced too.
The menu as a tutorial design is genius and feels great. The initial difficulty probably needs tuning down though.
Fantastic graphics and music. The use of the theme is also very good. However when dying on the web version I found the character spawned further down, so that collision detection of terrain didn't work properly afterwards.
Got to 19 before it got a bit too annoying lol. Really good spin on the theme!
It's a really nice idea but it does look way to ambitious which is a shame. I only played the original version for judging and you may have fixed these issues, but only deflector and navigation was trainable and the lander in navigation would still fail even if I entered the yellow area. Despite bugs however this idea is quite nice.
Very good gameplay here, just wish that the reverse movement was a bit quicker. It actually makes running around and letting the other tanks hit each other a much more desirable tactic for me! Only bug I found was sometimes that spawned outside the borders of the map. Other than that good job!
10 hours for your first LD is a really good job. Well done! Hopefully you will have more time to spend on it next dare :D
SFX were great and hilarious, not sure the music was completely fitting however. Good overall balance of gameplay, really struggled once the balls started flying!
Really enjoyed this, great use of the theme rolling into a simple mechanic that made it fun and interesting to play.
Good use of the theme, in fact just the same as my game except with ammo instead of batteries :P Good balance of difficulty too! Barely managed to survive on my first playthrough :)
Good little space shooter, had a lot of fun with it. My only suggestions would be to have some feedback as to when you are hitting your target (they turn white for a moment) and that your velocity left and right needs sorting out. Got odd behaviour when holding down forward and then a side direction.
As a lot of other people said, found it really slow. Additionally I wished that I could continue to rotate the paddles by moving the mouse further past the borders of my screen. Procedural generation seemed to be done quite well however, so I was impressed with how that was done :)
