Hume if you had 44 points you were level 5, it is the second tier of the game which becomes a little bit harder ^^ In fact it is where it starts to become more arcade. I certainly will implement level selection in final game if I continue it.

In console: java -jar tinygalaxy-1.1.jar
If you installed a software like winrar it may have reassociated jar file with it. So you need to launch java -jar on file manually.
Because I wanted to train on this conversion with the development library I used: libgdx.
I didn't redo it, it uses GWT to convert it. But it pulled some restrictions I had to handled (about opengl 1 & 2 for example) and I was interested to know how to do it.
Html 5 will be much more deployed than web start or applet (for example for chrome market, facebook...) and it is important for me to find a good lib to make game for it.

You are right goal is not really clear, it's a scoring game so the goal is to score... ;p I didn't give much indication on how to play (bridge creation mechanism, kill mechanism...) on purpose because I like as a player to discover how things work, but it's kinds of an old school way of doing game ^^
It misses a good story too to be introduce into game which may give some goal indications.
I agree for the limited amount of bridges. My first idea was to have a pool of bridges, destroyed planets and bridges give dust to build new one. A new bonus kind would have give more bridge availables.
It could give a new gameplay like the snake game which could be fun :D I would see (and it may solve performance issue i have with Android version ;p)
For now I have no way to prevent blocking yourself and I don't know if it is usefull to do so. 2 ways: compute blocking path and prevent user to do it... Have a new key to destroy bridge, but i wanted to keep the gameplay simple and blocking yourself can be a strategy!

- I won't change the size for now, it could change too many things ^^ You can unzoom in your browser the game supports it well.
- Bug fixed: A dead / arrested crew member wasn't reappearing after a retry
- The english is poor I know, did my best. I shouldn't have write the dialogs at end of jam too
Yes you can find a way to land the spaceship and survive ^^
There is a little bit of randomness though. If you know exactly what to do to "win" (the real win is to play the game ^^), you have 75% chance to have the win ending.
Life is unfair (You can sing it if you want).
More precision about this win 75% chance. It is not resolved at the end but this is one character which MUST be confronted and which may kill you...
Your ideas are good, didn't thought about making the ship a character or the captain's introspection. Planned a kind of text inventory on the captain but no time and no need. By the way the ship/computer character could be a great way to introduce the stowaway but it adds a complete new scenario line ^^ For my next game maybe, I keep that in mind.
You can click on the planet to get the number of remaining clicks. This if not really clear you can do that. You can too click on spaceship to have some background elements.
This clicks are free and does not move the game forward.
You are right the game fells in a die and retry gameplay after some plays, it's a bit wanted and assumed but I don't know what to think about that. To go further in it I would have assigned one color per dialog line, it would have make easier to fast play the same dialogs.
The important part for me is the adventure, the dialogs, the background, the strategy, the urgency emotion and the story telling, not the mini die and retry game... Have to think about that to progress I believe.

@mortus: You are right, doctor may win the fight if you decide to start a fight ^^ But it is not mandatory to do so. It's not the same for the pilot but I won't say more.
