The game quit and I got the following error after pressing N in the main menu (the tutorial worked just fine):
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: java.util.List.sort(Ljava/util/Comparator;)V
at net.kalinovcic.ld32.GameStage.render(GameStage.java:300)
at net.kalinovcic.ld32.StageManager.render(StageManager.java:18)
at net.kalinovcic.ld32.LD32.main(LD32.java:105)
AL lib: (EE) alc_cleanup: 1 device not closed
I've got java 1.7.0_45
While I was able to go through the tutorial, whenever I picked Normal or Expert mode, the game window disappeared. Can't play the game.

The tutorial looked and sounded great! When I tried to start the game in normal or expert mode, it crashed.
This was the error message in the command line:

A problem with my Arch Linux. When I press either Normal or Expert mode the game crashes with the following error.
tmkcodes at mussukka in ~/LD32Games ○ java -jar SpaceType.jar
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: java.util.List.sort(Ljava/util/Comparator;)V

The problem has been fixed. The game required Java 1.8. The game should now work with Java 1.6. If any more problems arise, try updating your Java to version 1.8.

Classic mechanisms, nice application. Well done. I suck at those kind of games...
No crashes when I played it. I liked how the letters fly off and actually hit the enemy.

I could see something like this helping people to type faster. Good job!
I really liked this. As for feedback, I did run into a situation where 2 enemies spawned on top of each other and I was unable to see the word I was trying to type. Minor issue, but something to consider.
Also the difficulty ramp is a little strange. The first couple of sectors are simple, then when I ended up getting to Sector 6 the difficulty spiked!
All in all nice work!

I like these kind of typing games. The biggest issue here is that I'm not really punished for typing the wrong character meaning that if I'm stuck or panic I can just mash all the keys on the keyboard and it will usually work out. Could really use some thumping techno music to go with the space theme. Player character could be made more iconic. Great job overall! :)
The background looks great, and it's a fun well made game. Expert mode was just the right difficulty for me, though sometimes it can be hard to make out words when it gets very busy. Overall great job!
Typing games are always wonderfully satisfying. I have to second what someone else said; there should be some sort of punishment for punching in an incorrect letter.
The game in which i learned that i suck at typing. The gameplay was fun and polished, the art was good, the sound was simple, but effective. Overall very nice game, but the main menu design could use some work 1/10.

A really good typing action game! I got to sector 27 on normal mode and had a blast playing the game :) Great job!
A well-knowed concept but simply and nicely do the work. 2 difficulties, simple sounds, simple gameplay... No need more! Nice work. :)
I just wonder how you "select" the target; When multiple targets are present, you can sometimes types only some of them.

Nice game. First level I could type ruthlessnesses and anticolonialism no problem, by level 20 I can't even type 'type' without mistakes! :D

Worked just fine for me. Could do with some music. Maybe some parallax scrolling. A great start.

The game seems pretty cool.
Like the idea concept innovative work here !
But seriously... what if we got azerty keyboard ? mmm yes... i would like to play it so much, understood the typing concept. And mayebe needed some more explanations on how to play.
very good innovation and theme usage !
So, I came back and tried your update, and it worked. I enjoyed the game, though it reinforces just how badly I type.
I really wish this had a bit more of an Audio component. The audio it has is great, but it's very minimal.
Good game, though!
Graphics and audio were good. I prefer it when typing tutors allow you to make mistakes while typing and then correct them with backspace as that's more akin to actual typing. But all in all, not a bad game.
Simple little typing game. I found it kind of funny how random the words are. I know its randomly from a dictionary but I didn't expect "goatish" lol. I have no idea if this is possible with the dictionary thing you are using but maybe display the definitions of the words? That way players could learn what a bunch of these random words mean.

This was pretty much fantastic. However, I really didn't like that the word in progress went blue. That's probably the least visible color you could have chosen!

Now I see, how badly I type. Nice, polished game! A like animation of flying letters, and how enemy ships are pushed by them. Good work!
Maybe too ease, even on expert mode, but I guess that depends on typing skills, so for slow typers it's great. Maybe an adaptive difficulty change would be nice. :)
Well done! I enjoyed this game.
