I was looking for a puzzle entry when I found this. But this is way more than that. I like the RPG elements as well at the thermometer thing. This could be a great game if developed!

pix3m 2015-04-21 07:39

Well, there is nothing like trying to beat the game, just so the ultimate weapon doesn't yet exist. I find the balancing as it currently is to be difficult, had to rush the game and ignoring the clients once I realized a gameover state is also not yet implemented

Also funny to see sprites ripped from a game that pixel artist Cyangmou happened to have done

ripatti 2015-04-22 07:38

Too bad you didn't implement the final screen. Anyway, really moody and addicting! Also I afraid there is impossible to lose here.

lerc 2015-04-22 08:06

Took quite a while but I got there in the end. I feel like there should be some sort of quantity bonus for getting matches of large numbers.

kipelovets 2015-04-22 11:58

I like the story. Make armor and weapons for adventurers. Gameplay idea is good but need some more balancing i think.
Nice graphics and effects

terrykim426 2015-04-22 15:02

Nice! I would play this on mobile =)

jhell 2015-04-22 15:11

I am very impressed, this is well-made, intuitive, and fun. Congratz.

cheshyr 2015-04-22 15:17

fun twist on the connect mechanic. music was very nice too. well done.

smilingcat 2015-04-22 15:18

Well-implemented mechanics and lots of fun. Great job!

colindoody 2015-04-22 15:22

Very cool! I like the added forge heat element of gameplay, it adds upon the common match-3 elements very well. I almost wish there were levels to go through and more of a way to fail, but it was a lot of fun to play :) good job!

tselmek 2015-04-22 15:26

Quite addictive game. Missing some way to end/lose the game. The mechanics are great and trying to keep them running at the same time is very challenging. Pretty soothing atmosphere with the art and sounds. Good job.

huvaakoodia 2015-04-22 15:28

An enjoyable match-X puzzle game with a sleek matching mechanic.

The pressure created by the client requirements is a smart mechanic, especially having to maintain the optimal forge temperature, which forces the player to juggle between different goals.
It's a bit disappointing that once you've gathered enough money for the 'max 50' upgrade the clients cease to matter at all, as I can just keep mining resources on my own.
You could introduce a periodic maintenance fee or property tax for the shop in order to keep making money as a game mechanic.

The interface is clean and effective. I would have liked hotkeys for increasing and decreasing the temperature though.

eskivor 2015-04-25 10:44

Really fun.

dracomagna 2015-04-25 12:26

Really nice, game! It's hard to understand at first, but after it becomes really fun to play.
Well done!

ccglp 2015-04-25 12:45

It's a clever way to improve the classic puzzle game mechanic. This is a very good work :)

dallonf 2015-04-25 12:52

This is my favorite game of the Jam so far! Simultaneously relaxing and stressful.

I'm not sure if this is a bug, or intended design, but THANK YOU for making life points a bonus feature and not an end-game condition! Because I really stink at matching games and I probably never would have finished otherwise.

ithildin 2015-04-25 13:44

A very solid entry. Gameplay is a cool mix of puzzle / resource management, and graphics seem very polished as well, I love the pixel art style.

I got to the super awesome screen of victory :D

stals 2015-04-25 18:23

Thank you all for the comments! I added some explanation of the lives in the description. Also added Mac and Linux builds.

hunttis 2015-04-25 20:33

Wow, I'm addicted already. If this was a game on iOS, I would buy it (with just a little bit more variation, levels, spells or something that affects the board). I thought I would lose my nerve trying to keep all the things happening under control, but even though I would lose some orders, the game never infuriated me. Great work!

ianh 2015-04-25 20:44

This game is hard to stop playing!

horsed 2015-04-25 21:19

Come on, a match-3-game? Really? Wait, you can forge stuff? Let me see... *plays for one hour straight, even though the music loop gets annoying after a couple of minutes*

chaoseed 2015-04-26 00:29

I've played several games kinda like this--of course, I play them because I like them! You had great graphics, and I think the mechanics are basically good. However, I definitely had some problems...First, why do you need to tap a button to 'Give' the item once it's finished? It doesn't seem to add anything to the game except another chance to screw up that takes your attention away from other stuff. It seems like, if you can automatically forge the item when you have the right materials and temperature, you should be able to automatically give it. Second, the patience dropped too quickly. Maybe start out slow and get faster later?

Other than that, though, I think it's pretty good. I actually had fun with it!

ehtd 2015-04-26 06:37

Not quite fan of the matching games, but it is very well done. Hi 5!

davidb 2015-04-26 08:49

addicting and endless. well done

trasevol_dog 2015-04-27 10:58

Really nice game ! A shame that you can't lose. But great otherwise !

jhrrsn 2015-04-27 21:54

A cool idea, gathering materials for your customers whilst also trying to stockpile for yourself! Well-executed for the most part, but once I realised I could ignore the customers without penalty it all felt a bit less urgent! Some multipliers or equivalent for the matching game would've been interesting too. Good job though!

franklins-ghost 2015-04-29 12:29

Nice mix of crafting and match-3. Ended up being pulled into the game more then I expected and played this for awhile seeing what the results would be.

dunin 2015-04-30 10:11

nice looking game, remind me 10,000,000...

sorlok 2015-04-30 12:44

Adding to my list; will try later!

tmpxyz 2015-04-30 13:36

very well polished game!

jbasinger 2015-04-30 14:28

WOW That was addicting and fun. Thanks!

thaaks 2015-04-30 16:08

Wonderful idea to craft weapons using match-3 collected items! It took a few seconds until I got the temperature thing but then I was hooked!
The music got a bit boring after a while and the graphics could be bigger and the "line drawing" response a bit faster but that's just minor issues.
Great entry!

sorlok 2015-04-30 21:07

Really clever, and controls quite well. Would love to see this as part of a larger game, or with some larger goal besides just building up material counts. Quite fun!

seankimdesign 2015-05-01 05:33

Fantastic game. Everything from the concept to the execution was simply extraordinary, especially given the LD time frame. My favorite part is the amount of polish this game proudly displays. This game gets the highest score from me.

madball 2015-05-01 14:58

That was fun! I like the calming music and the simple gameplay. The idea is not new, but I don't mind it, you've added some interesting things to it.

I didn't have enough tutorial, I didn't sell my first weapon just because I didn't notice the "give" button.

Also, the ending was a bit easy. As soon as you get your storage, you start ignoring all the deals. Maybe you should add some boosts from selling weapons or something else to keep me doing it once I have enough storage.

Overall, it was fun, but I don't think I'll play it again. Unless you continue developing it. The ending looks like a placeholder.

tughan 2015-05-01 16:05

Even though I'm really tired of seeing match-3 games, this is a real good game that enchances the genre with sidekick mechanics. Good job.

teesquared 2015-05-01 16:36

Nice blend of matching puzzle game with resource management. Addictive game play. I like the setting too.

recursor 2015-05-01 17:22

Pleasant music and an overall pleasant experience. I didn't expect to like this one as it looked like a standard match 3 game, but I was wrong. Nice job.

crowbeak 2015-05-05 02:44

This is a really great start. I think you could build a full game out of this. Took me a while to realize that you have to click the give button, though, and I upgraded past max 50 a couple of times before realizing I could ignore the customers and just collect mats after that.

kaiseangames 2015-05-06 19:23

One of the greatest game this LD. Well done!

onlyslightly 2015-05-08 03:39

Wow there is a ton of polish here. It feels really close to a commercial game. I really like how you captured the idea of crafting through the materials and temperature mechanics. The match component was actually pretty relaxing.

demy 2015-05-08 05:06

Super cool game. Awesome gameflow.

funisfun8 2015-05-08 06:58

Wow, this is very interesting. Great graphics, good sounds, solid gameplay. Well done.

chabuduo 2015-05-08 07:44

Everything was amazing!

runvs 2015-05-09 18:32

Nice game!

deepnight 2015-05-11 23:27

I spent quite a LONG time playing your game :) Liked it very much! Fun and compelling ; my only regret is the theme.
