A small but interesting game. Very melancholic. The sounds are great.

A small but interesting game. Very melancholic. The sounds are great.
Thanks for all the feedback so far!
For the sound effects I used Bfxr, and for the music I used LMMS (Linux Multimedia Studio). The music was just about the last thing I added, and as you can hear, I'm not a musician. Some random key pressing and something called "Arpeggio", and boom, I had some ambient background music. :-)
The graphics are simple, but the game itself is fun. Good job with this one!
Great visual style, but I was hoping for a little more things to do.
It looks good, and I'm sure it'd be very addictive if it had some powerups (pacman like, so you could eat other worms for a few seconds, for example), or a leveling system. At least some more depth. Well done for a 48 hour project.
Great intro, it kind of set the bar for the rest of the game. Not sure if it quite lived up to it, but it's good for a two day job.
I like the graphics, but this game is extremely short. Either that, or I missed something. Still, it's a game, so congratulations with making a game in 48 hours!
Fun and witty are the words I'd use to describe this game. You've taken a standard platformer concept, and combined it with killing germs and cleaning? Perfect combo. :-)
I don't know why, but I really liked this. You've gone with a "mining" kind of game, but still made an original and interesting game. One of my favorites so far!
I died most of the times trying to get food, so I didn't get very far. But I like the idea.
I almost made it through. Not sure if I liked the rocket upgrade. It felt slower to use? Or maybe that was just because I missed a speed bonus block. Still a well made game. Good job!
It looks and feels really smooth, so good job on that. The gameplay was a bit confusing at first though.
Wow, this game is hard. I love the visual style, it works really well. Well done!
Really nice cartoony look. Good job on the controls as well - it feels like you're under water.
Great atmosphere. The graphics and sound effects are very good!
Simple, but it works. It'd be nice if it had some music and maybe some powerups/bonuses along the way. Interesting to see that you used Dart.
Haha, this is the first time I've played a game entirely in a PDF. I thought I had opened some kind of manual, but it was actually pretty entertaining.
Not bad for someone learning to code. Keep going, and code, code, code. That's the only way to improve. Good luck!
I really liked this one. The graphics and music is good, and the gameplay works well too.
Woah, I decided to check out some of the top rated entries. This blew my mind. Really good!
Ooh, first multiplayer game I've played so far. That's an interesting idea. Quite simple, though. I would have liked more than one way of attacking so that attacks depend on more than randomness. Still, I think this is a good foundation to build upon. Good job.
Very innovative, but gets a bit repetitive after a while. Cool to see games that combine both themes, and do it well. The voice acting is hilarious. Well done!
I liked it. A nice progression in difficulty and the fact that the other cars signal before switching lanes works really well. If you crash, it's your fault, and not the AI's random behavior. Pretty addictive, but could have used a high pace soundtrack. Well done!
Nice to see more multiplayer games. Mario kart battle meets space invaders. :-) Could have used some music, but at least there are some sound effects. The game play is quite fun. Well done!
Great music first of all. Nice power ups, and the controls work well.
Very creative. I was afraid the notes would be repetitive after a while, but it works really well. It's a good idea to change instruments from level to level, and they all fit their environment quite well!
Makes good use of the two button controls. It's very easy to die, but the checkpoints help not making it too annoying. The transition from screen to screen is a bit slow at times so it's hard to judge what the best action is when enemies are approaching, before you start walking back again. But overall, I really liked the style and innovation.
Haha, I thought it was Freestyler playing, but nope. Nice soundtrack and cool gameply ideas. The vine growing and seed shooting works great!
Nice one. Everything is very small on my high dpi screen though. Good idea to use the same two keys for both jumping and running. It's still just two keys even if the two keys do two things each. Clever!
A nice, challenging game. I like that it's turn based, giving you time to think about your next move. Fits the theme well. Good job!
This was fun, and the music is nice. Good job integrating both themes into your game!
Cool, a fast paced Osmos! Pretty hard, but fun. Good work using both themes. And the art style is gorgeous!
"ERROR — This project has been removed by the author. It may return later." :-(
You're making good use of the theme. It's fun, but I think it's a little too sensitive when it comes to touching the zombies. I couldn't get very far, but I imagine it'd be quite fun once you get into the flow and fly past the zombies. The music was nice too.
Something like this would probably work very well as a mobile game. Bonus points for using both themes. I liked it!
Woah, my favorite so far. Looks great, sounds great, and has a great atmosphere. Well done!
Crazy hard, but it fits the theme well. I see why it shoots continuously, but I barely looked up at the enemy, keeping my focus just around my ship to try and slide past the bullets.
Chaotic indeed, but I still felt like I was in control. The upgrades are nice, and I like that you provided a tutorial level to get started.
Thanks for the comments and feedback so far! I really appreciate it. What I've found to work well is to try to get as many shapes of one type on the board by "consuming" shapes near the edges, then going for the biggest combos. Scoring high requires some kind of strategy, but I'm not sure if I've found the best one yet. I hope someone is able to get >800!
@M2ias: The tiles are selected in a diamond / 45 degree square, and any shapes within that selection will score you points. Not sure if this works, but:
__o__
_ooo_
ooooo
_ooo_
__o__
So if the piece you click is a square, then any square within the "diamond" will give you points. See the instructions for how many points each combination will give. :-)
Thanks for the feedback! It's really useful and good to know if I decide to take the game further some time in the future.
Really good! Interesting take on the theme, and very well executed. The art is really good, and the sound effects are quite fun.
A clever take on the theme. At first I thought it was a little generic, but then the shapes started loosing/gaining edges. Really cool innovation. Portals were a nice touch as well. Easy enough to figure out, but maybe some text instructions would be nice. Well done for a 48 hour game! :-)
I really like it. Art and gameplay works well. Maybe this should be in the jam, not in the compo, because you used someone else's sounds?
Sometimes you make it through a weekend without almost any problems, and sometimes you run into roadblocks all the time. But Ludum Dare is all about having fun, and I hope you had fun making this. :-)
Crazy! Art, sound and gameplay works really well. Very professional game for a weekend compo. Superb!
What an eery experience. It works, for some reason, and it's challenging. Well done, and an interesting use of the theme.
Challenging, but fun. Simple, clean graphics and sound. Good work.
I love the art and music! Really well made platformer for a 48 hour compo. Superb!
Interesting take on the theme. Seems to be quite a bit of variation (plane, tanks, and the normal shooters). Good job!
It ran a little choppy on my machine. The "dude" and his animation was well made.
Hard, but fun! Something quite different from the other games I've tried so far.
Quite different, but still interesting. Innovation points to you.
Haha! This is so crazy and chaotic, but still manageable. Well done!
Simple, easy to understand. Nice!
I took me a while to understand how the game worked, but with some instructions and mouse guides, that could easily be solved. The levels are quite challenging still.
That was, well, interesting. A puzzle-ish game, but the graphics add a good bit of humor. Haha!
I like the idea. It's like some kind of inverted jenga-tetris. Good job!
Really interesting concept. With some polish, this could become a great game.
Haha, the sounds and the overall look of this game! Good job.
