Great graphics and fluid controls, love it
Great game, it's really hard to dodge enemy fire when you can't stop moving :P The secret was glorious btw :D
The graphics are really nice and Atari-like, and the controls are pretty sweet once you get used to it.
Pretty unique and really fun to play.
Going for hard first wasn't the best idea, mistakes were made x)
Came for the title, stayed for the swooping and pooping, rated for the glory of Pidgeon Poopenheimer
Awesome idea and very well executed, I like how unforgiving it is without being unfair. All it needs is a high-octane soundtrack ;D
Byooooootiful
Such a beautiful game, both in sounds and graphics.
It sets the mood real nice, the controls are tight, and the level design is great, good job!
Such a cool concept! It's relentless and unforgiving in the beginning but after you've gained enough mass it's a little easy (since you charge faster and with more vectors) to just spray and pray :P
Wow the final form is terrifying :o
Great game, it left me wanting more and the graphics are top notch :D
Riding on cars! *sweet guitar riffs*
5 on humor just for the reference ;)
A bit hard to get into but once I got a grip on what to look out for it became really enjoyable. A nice take on both the theme and card games.
Excellent execution of the narrative and top notch pixel art. The great music really makes the shift in tone from game to work that more extreme. Great job!
Got sentenced to life for lifting like a beast, glad I dont live in such an anti gains world lul. With some more variety (especially in the dating department) I could see this becoming an interesting experience, but at the moment it feels too repetitive for what it is aiming to be. Very well executed none the less, well done!
I love the billboard-type graphics of the characters and the overall art style is great. Such an interesting concept as well and very well executed. The story is also really good and I would really like to see this expanded on in the future along with the body part switching mechanics because there is probably so much that can be done with it! Great work!
As stated above, some feedback when hitting an enemy would greatly improve the experience. I also found it weird how if you pressed attack, then blocked, and then stopped blocking you still attacked without further input. Might be intentional but I felt it messed with the flow of the fighting a bit. Other than that it was really solid, I especially like the art style and the variety of upgrades added to the enjoyment. Great work!
Nice concept and solid gameplay, I really liked the design of the big machine boss
Amazing graphics and honestly, the difficulty is great because the controls are tight enough for you to feel that if you die it's your own fault, not the game's. Except for the archers but I see that other people pointed that out already. Stellar entry!
I agree with @killedbyapixel , the enemies right now are needlessly unfair. Nerfing them a bit would greatly increase the fun factor. Other than that it was a nice idea done well, especially how much the blood loss affected your movement. Spent like 3-4k after wave 1 and regretted it immediately, made for one of the most tense wave 2 I've ever played lmao
I really liked this one and I see a lot of potential if you were to continue development. Art is great and gameplay is engaging. Very well done!
Loving the graphics, and the cat is so cute! The powerups are way too OP though, at least the transform one
I like the art style, would not mind some color variations on the level itself though. The scope of the level also seems a bit small given the time limit, I didn't buy any upgrades on my first run and was done with around 190 seconds to spare and the space between enemy groups left me wanting more. Maybe some sort of wave-based mode? The controls felt great and the design of the enemies was neat, overall a solid and fun game despite being short :D
I hear you, there was alot more that I would have liked to put in it but the time just wasnt there. Thanks for the comment!
Super polished and fun to play, upgrades felt balanced and gave a nice sense of progression
Okay this is so cool honestly
If this doesn't win best graphics I will riot
Love the art and love the concept! I think the card values might need some balancing as you rarely lose money on opening a pack and selling all three cards
Great game, love opening packs!
Really liked the dev team back and forth, inspired by real-life experience I'm sure π
You really captured the essence of the point-and-click games from the 90's and the art is amazing, would love to see this expanded into something more
Jokes on you, this is my actual day-to-day (cries on the inside). Jokes aside, very engaging and **very** stressful π Currency seems to be localized which is a cool touch, superb entry π
@b0guslaw I'm not very fond of it either to be honest, I always add sound effects at the last minute but I hope the gameplay makes up for it π
@wormkingboo Thank you!
@dullai Glad you like the parry mechanic! I just wish I had time to make more enemies to use it on
@magnapanther I agree, I would have loved to add more levels and enemy types π© Thanks for playing!
@artificer Journey was definitely the main inspiration for the visual style π
@vladcfg Ah that's good to know, I will keep mouse settings in mind in the future! Thanks for playing!
@6knowledge Nier was one of the big inspirations for the gameplay! Not sure if there is a bug with the damage calculation for that specific attack but while testing I never encountered it, did it happen even when parrying?
@bobap Thanks for the feedback! Fair point about the camera, I think it's the most common complaint I have gotten so far so it's something I will pay more attention to in the future. The boss fight coming so quickly is simply due to me thinking it would be funny π Like "this is how you shoot, this is how you parry, now go beat this monstrosity, good luck" π
@senso Thanks for playing! You can parry the claws when they charge you but in the second phase it's just about dodging the lasers (I had planned to add projectiles you could parry in the second phase but ran out of time)
@ira-baciu Hyper-fixation comes in handy for things like this π Thanks for playing!
@jorbits Yeah I thought it would be kinda funny to have an unexpected leap in difficulty π Thanks for checking out the game!
@tony-li Thanks for the review! Will check out your game too
@iriska I hope nobody takes it too seriously π
@naru Appreciate it, thanks for playing!
@tatawanda Parry it! Tip: When the laser stops you have about a second to hold the parry button π Unless you already was doing that in which case getting killed while parrying is a bug π
@maimai Agreed, absolute trash π You're correct, I didn't manage to get it to line up properly unfortunately, I know there is a trick to it but couldn't figure it out in time
@rynti Oof, happens to the best of us
@milq Thanks for the review and thanks for playing!
I see some complaints about not knowing which bait can be used for which fish and losing your current bait on abort but I honestly liked those aspects since the it provided a nice challeng and I think it would be too easy without those "drawbacks". Also 10/10 soundscape
That's one of the coolest devil designs I have ever seen, truly terrifying
I played this for way longer than I care to admit π
Absolutely love the vibe of this game, super relaxing π
Clean UI and once you "get it" the gameplay loop becomes pretty engaging. I get the feeling that you had a lot more planned feature-wise but even as it is it's a really nice and relaxing game
Aw that was such a sweet experience, loved every second of this
Love the art and music in this! Not a huge fan of the slow acceleration but once you get up to speed it's fun to try and maintain it. Also not sure if it's a bug or intended but once I delivered the required amount for the day I still had to collect a few more before it would let me progress
Highly addictive! Gameplay is much deeper then you would think when you start it for the first time, was very pleasantly surprised!
Wasn't expecting jiggle physics and grandma-panties
Seems like a nice chill game and the models are polished and have a nice style (and superbly animated I must add). My biggest critique is the audio, I would have prefered to just have some ambient forest sounds instead of the music and audio dialogue so I ended up muting everything. Not hating, just not for me
Genuinely interesting gameplay mechanic and really fun when you get the hang of it
Really liked this one, simple but fun to play! 10th round beat me every time though π
This was so addictive it's crazy, spent like an hour playing it. Finding an overpowered combo is so satisfying
Loved every second of this, replayed it 10 times at least! By the way there is a typo on the species page (Glamflom instead of Glomflam) which made me lose a life π
Nice and smooth gameplay and a good idea. My only complaint is how big the level is, I would say either make it smaller or add more hazards besides the guard dogs (like cars, pest control, other raccoons etc.). Also I love the raccoon jumping animation
I really liked the controls actually once I understood that you need to press instead of hold and the way you move around was enjoyable. Only complaint I have is the difficulty but maybe I just need to git gud π
Dave the Diver kind of vibe, I like it! Having the max upgrades felt a little overpowered though, at least in terms of swimming speed
The abduction physics are really satisfying! Bonus points for the Wilhelm scream
One of the most addictive games I have played in a while, everything felt very polished and thought out and the feedback in terms of both sound and visuals are top notch!
However this was my face the entire time I was squashing those poor slimes π everything.jpg
Love the artstyle and vibe but the controls were a bit unforgiving (and I would have prefered if they were inverted when reversing). The idea of using the hedgehog spikes and rolling to pick up mushroom is very clever, liked that a lot! Also I love hedgehogs
Way harder than I thought it would be lol, feels a little unfair that you can trip on the things falling out of your backpack but maybe I just need to git gud π
Adorable, protect Conrad at all cost
God damn that was good lol, wouldn't be surprised if it becomes the next game that every Youtuber plays. Also I want to echo the suggestions from @kro regarding expansion of the mixing mechanic, expanding it and also allowing potions with less than favourable results would add a whole new level to the gameplay loop. 10/10
Easily my favorite game from this jam so far
That artstyle is so damn nice! Total GTA 2 vibes! Gameplay-wise it's great apart from a bug where blood and trash visually gets collected but the meters don't increase
Well-executed bullet hell game! Maybe needs some balancing after stage 1 in terms of how much power you collect but other than that I have no complaints
The little animation and sound when you "unclog" the vacuum made me chuckle lol
Water ring toss in the big 2025, what a time to be alive! Gave me a good hit of nostalgia and enjoyed playing it a lot. The rotation takes some getting used to but once you get it it feels very smooth and fair. Well done!
Such a simple concept executed incredibly well. I can envision it getting expanded into something like coin-flipping your way through the circles of hell and picking up coins with different curses or blessings along the way that deepens the complexity. Kind of like a deck-building roguelike but with coins (Evil Balatro?). Anyway, superb entry!
Really like how polished the elements of the game are, all the little wiggles and movements of the cards are super satisfying. Would love to see some more content and card variety (with effects or bonuses etc.) in the future!
The dynamic music is such a nice touch
Bouncing + piercing + burst is almost too powerful π Super fun game
It's just A's All the wAy down AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Text is a bit hard to read in the trade/shop but gameplay is really good and the upgrades are very noticeable which I appreciate!
Really enjoyed playing this! It had a cozy vibe and rearranging the art to get the most bonus was oddly rewarding
The racoon is so cute and the different item effects are a really nice touch that enhances the gameplay quite a bit. Sometimes when you collected the quest items it was a bit confusing as you were just booted out of the level immediately, and likewise it wasn't super clear what happens when you enter a different room/go up or down the stairs. Apart from that it's a very solid game and the cuteness factor is off the charts
Alternate title: Stabby-Cat
Solid idea, I think if each chest gave you three options (a random sword and two random upgrades for example) that allows you to modify the gameplay in some way I think this could evolve into something super fun and engaging. Could be something to consider as a post-jam development goal
Big fan of 2D characters in 3D worlds, this made me want to try it out myself in the next Ludum Dare! Very impressive for a first solo project, even though the environment is mostly gray boxes I can clearly see your vision. The camera (which initially felt a bit clunky but kinda grew on me as I played) and 2D style gave me nostalgia for the Hercules game for PS1 which is one of my favorite games from that era π Only real advice I can give you as an on-and-off hobbyist is to make sure that the main thing you do in the game is done well and plays well (usually that is character movement or combat etc.). Also be prepared that the more complex your game gets the more work is required for lesser and lesser improvements, it's something that can catch you off-guard if you're not prepared and can kill your momentum π© Well done and congratulations on submitting!
Amazing art and atmosphere! I love the small little details like the how the cat reacts to finding cucumbers π
Redditor Simulator π
Congrats on your first game! I somehow spawned a bomb at one point?
Lovely art and the decoy mechanic is really clever! Dog AI could use some upgrades but in the meantime we have come to a mutual agreement on peace between species
peace.jpg
I am going to echo @mihu's sentiment here, I think my biggest complaint is not knowing what to collect and how to collect it. I assume that the umbrella has something to do with it but I only managed to use it to randomly make things fly across the screen. A short description on the game page explaining the controls and objective would be very helpful. I don't want to rate it without having played it the right way
Amazing atmosphere and incredibly clean UI, top notch! My only complaint is the level design. A few too many dead ends in tight spaces where the sonar couldn't pick up all the walls and kind of led you into the wrong direction. A small nitpick for a otherwise great game!
Loved the little brain teasers to progress the "not touching" of the collection and the facts that it's a real collection is quite nice!
I like that silly little corvid and its silly little coin collecting π Press X to caw and the strict adherence to pedestrian regulations for crosswalks made me chuckle
Super appealing visuals, love the 2.5D style! Controls were wonky but in a good way. Navigation was a bit hard to understand without street signs but once you knew where Nanab & 1st was it was pretty simple to find your way around. Good game!
