Really cool and nostalgic idea! Graphics and sound turned out great. Couldn't figure out how to rotate though.

Looks great! Nice idea to go for a small nostalgic game like that. Music is very nice too. I love the option and back buttons in game. I think it's missing a background, at least a gradient or some vignette (anything else that the base Unity skybox). Tho given how the main menu is polished, I would have hoped for an artwork (it's highter priority than the menu imo).

Newest update have fixed rotation by dragging via mouse (as guide says). However, my suggestion to designer is altering rotation method in order to avoid misclicking to setting menu :<

Come and Lasso Your Nostalgic Memories!

aleksey-salion 2025-10-06 21:27

I had this toy when I was a kid, awwww memories

pigeonescu 2025-10-06 22:26

really nice nostalgic feel. the embbeded html on the page doesn't seem to work though, I played it on itch.

Georgeous art style, the physics seems a bit strange sometimes. But very fun and beautifully polished style!

Looked Great !

mokukeki 2025-10-07 02:35

Super slick art style! The cel-shading is totally eye-catching. Cyber kiddo toys (?)

sylviachord 2025-10-07 02:48

This is a real classic of a game. The visuals and UI are nicely polished, the physics feel solid, and the music and sound effects fit just right. Overall, it's a neat little casual game that's well put together.2.png

Nostalgic game. The rotating is a detailed observation. I did that a lot when I was a child.

yoav-kagan 2025-10-07 15:53

Very impressive art!

zelenkas 2025-10-07 17:19

The team's choice of a childhood game as their development project is really cool, but making it feel realistically authentic is quite challenging. Fortunately, the art, modeling, and perfect lighting make everything look amazing. It would be great if the console's left-right tilt controls were smoother, and adding a scoring UI would be a nice touch. Right now, I can't fully loop the rings around like you can in real life.

I’ve got to say, the art here is really impressive, super cohesive and consistent, Absolutely love it! The gameplay also gave me nostalgic vibes, reminding me of those old bubble-lasso toys from back in the day. It really took me back... Very cool presentation overall, and great job!

Your game is not opening on the Ludum Dare :( Screenshot 2025-10-08 124134.png

drgcandle 2025-10-08 11:59

@ira-baciu This is indeed a bit strange—it was working fine before without any issues. I think it might be a problem with the Ludum Dare itself. You might want to try our game on itch.io instead. Here's the link: https://drgcandle.itch.io/bubble-lasso

The visual effects are amazing, and the music really helps me unwind.

b0guslaw 2025-10-08 17:20

There are a ton of great games on here, but I think yours has the highest level of polish I have seen so far, wow! The menu alone is captivating, how did you make a menu so captivating and engaging? The game itself is somehow so simplistic in nature, but so extremely well executed, I love what you did with it. great work!

l6ria 2025-10-08 17:21

I felt like I went back to my childhood, it was really nice.

hank-ather 2025-10-08 17:22

This is so nostalgic- I absolutely had one of those toys growing up and would play it all the time as a kid riding in the back of mom's car.

Great execution on it! The mouse controls feel a little wonky, but that's my only gripe with it. The art is inspired- did y'all play Humongous Entertainment games growing up? Cause it 100% has Spy Fox and Pajama Sam vibes.

doughseller 2025-10-08 17:22

the artstyle and graphics are great!

khamekaze 2025-10-08 17:23

Water ring toss in the big 2025, what a time to be alive! Gave me a good hit of nostalgia and enjoyed playing it a lot. The rotation takes some getting used to but once you get it it feels very smooth and fair. Well done!

gonutz 2025-10-09 04:18

Awesome game! Really great graphics and attention to detail! Played in on stream here: https://www.twitch.tv/schmonutz

katastudios 2025-10-09 19:42

standout art and graphics! wow!

huaqing 2025-10-10 05:46

The graphics are stunning, but I'm so clumsy with the controls.

maneoliz 2025-10-10 06:28

looks amazing, feels amazing with that exact nostalgia hitting just right. as annoying as ever, which means the premise was captured accurately. great job!

ciphereo 2025-10-12 17:38

The graphics are truly amazing and have left me in awe. I really appreciate your handling of the lighting and shadows. Coupled with the retro scenes on both sides, my first impression of this game is extremely exquisite. The gameplay reminds me of the small games I used to play after school when I was a child. I really like it.

shadowdoge 2025-10-17 12:34

The art is very good and vivid. I also love the music!!!! Very well polished game!

koolruz 2025-10-17 17:44

I really loved this throwback to those little toy games that you'd get as a kid - Lots of great polish on display, and a lot of fun playing with the rings!

I did run into a few physics-quirks that got in the way of the experience while playing - The way that the rings would settle into place felt strangely floaty, even taking the fact that the game was underwater into consideration. I'm not sure if it was the low gravity or the friction of the rings against one another, but the rings would often get stuck against one another in unintuitive ways, and tilting the machine to try and free them didn't seem to have any effect to free them

stuck-rings.PNG

I also had a lot of trouble getting the tilt controls to behave how I would expect - Moving my mouse a tiny bit would send the machine rocketing in one direction or the other, and I didn't seem to have any way to get to any in-between angles. I would have thought that clicking and dragging would have tilted the machine with a 1:1 ratio to my mouse movement, and because that didn't happen, it felt somewhat unintuitive. Playing around with it more, it seems like *something* happens as you rotate which changes how your mouse movements impact rotation, so making the same move up and back down doesn't leave you in the same position as you had started, which gets very confusing.

Overall though, this was a *very* good game! All of my feedback comes down to nitpicks that can be smoothed over. This was extremely well polished, the graphics and audio were great, and the concept was great. Well done! :)
