Very wholesome game! I love the art style, none of the models are that complicated on their own, but they all blend together into a very nice looking game

Very wholesome game! I love the art style, none of the models are that complicated on their own, but they all blend together into a very nice looking game
What a beautiful game! So kind and wholesome! Really enjoyed it!
It's super cute! I really love whatever style art this is. What is it? I also love the Dutch dub : )
@lazarus-richardson thank you!!! Our wonderful developer @oasez had this amazing pixelation shader that we've chucked on all the objects in the scene and my god did it make it easy for us to make things look good and cohesive quickly. The asset we used is called "ProPixelizer".
very lovely experience, the music and the narration is very soothing and gives it a uniquely calming atmosphere :)
This is so cool in mood and atmosphere and the way everything is crafted, especially the sounds, makes it an absolute GOAT
Such a sweet game! I love the audio of your grandpa, might be that I'm just tired from the jam, but first game to bring me to tears, such a charming art style and really nicely polished!
Very Sweet game, lot of running back and forth, would have loved a dash ability or some other shortcut to bring the items back. I actually managed to bring the hive with the bees over before I found the matches.
Stoppp this is so dang wholesome I haven't had enough sleep for thisss 😭❤️
Really lovely game with a lot of heart. I loved the feeling of cutting down the plants. Especially the daisy and the smally little particles it leaves behind, really great feedback on that. The voice acting was a nice touch and really made the game feel worth collecting everything. I especially enjoyed the mechanics with the match and bee hive as a small puzzle to solve. Great entry!
Sweet and fun! The little story that matched the theme is very nice. I had a hard time dragging the hive, but I really enjoyed the parts where we used the candle.
Lovely little entry, wholesome having opa do some voice acting!
Very sweet, a bit laggy probably the very nice shader. I would have love to see the result of the collect at the end but I guess you run out of time to make it.
@matthieu-riboulot thank you for playing! The ending should be working properly, so I'd like to figure out what went wrong. 🤔
Did you collect every item? Some required you to bring back 2.
Did anything else happen after you collected the final item?
The ending was properly triggering at least voice and camera. But it was not showing anything new but the voice lines from what i remember. @re-markable
@matthieu-riboulot ahhh I understand what you mean now. Yeah no that was indeed very much a "no time, just use your imagination" kind of decision hahahaha.
Cozy little game, looking pretty nice and plays pretty well, a good chill experience! Nice job!
Really nice game! It's really cute to hear your grandpa's voice acting, and how excited the kid is. The 3D art style works really well, and the way the knight walks is really adorable. I love the little puzzles, with some creative solutions. I'm not entirely sure how I was supposed to go on the part surrounded by water, but I was able to stand on the edge and jump from there. Great game! Lekker gedaan pik!
@sheepolution thats so nice to hear, thank you! Glad you enjoyed the game so much :))) The trick to the lil water area mayyyy have something to do with the fluffy dandelion :eyes:
Thanks voor t spelen pik ;)
This game is so cuuute! Very well done! 😍 Edit: oops I broke the subtitles by alt-tabbing to a different tab and coming back.
This is so cute and the music is so nice :)
A calm, cozy, and kind game that gave me 15 minutes of relaxation.
The visual style of the game is quite pleasant.
Such a beautiful game. I love the graphics and the voiceovers. Managed to collect all items. Good job
This was a very pleasant experience. I love that you got your opa to do the voice lines, the story in the game was sweet. But the story that I saw was one of an excited game developer bringing their family along on their journey of making games. That is very sweet!
Plus the game is very well put together! The movement and sword swing and clean interaction system were never frustrating. Every time I brought a new flower back and the little knight would cheer and opa would cheer I smiled :)
I'm a big fan of voice acting in jam games! Also, I just want to say, I really appreciated the dithering shader on the dandilions, it was a great use of the low poly/low res style to add texture.
Thanks for making this
@cameronpenner that is so sweet of you to say, thank you so much for your comment  Comments like these mean so much, it's really made my day, thank you <3
Love the shading especially, wish I could rotate the camera though!
What a lovely experience. Such a simple yet wonderful idea, with clean and emotional execution. I love the postprocess/shader on the scene. All go so well together !
Congrats to the team, and thanks Opa :)
I'm not crying, you are. Great cozy cute game!
This game is absolutely wonderful! I love how from the start you have a clear ultimate goal, straightforward quests, and intuitive controls. Such a cute story and magical atmosphere, and of course the voice acting ; )
Thank you, guys, you really made my day!
The story telling and dialogues are what made this a really lovely experience! The gameplay is fun as well! Great job!
Really charming! That's a very well made game. It's sweet and simple, it looks great and sound is almost perfect (it's missing a bit of sound effects that's all). I had a great time, amazing job!
So very sweet. And the dutch dialog sounded funny. Well done!
You made this in three days. Incredible.
This was so cozy! Great job putting in a lot of fun details. I love the little carrying animation, and the puzzle-y moments were very clever - enough to make you think a bit but not so much to spoil the mood with frustration. You made something really nice :)
Aw that was such a sweet experience, loved every second of this
It's so wholesome :sob: Really nice cozy puzzles, great art style. And the voices really made it special. Great!
Very charming and lovely game you've made. It's always fun hearing the Dutch language as a native English speaker because it feels like I can kind of understand what's being said but also not 😅
I really loved the exploration of the mechanics, and the small puzzle aspect of having to use the environment like the trampoline, matches, and dandelion puff to access things. Very creative!
Super well done ❤️
I'm jealous that you have such an interesting grandpa haha, the game visuals are cute, and the story is fun. I checked out your other games, wow! Professional!
Very cozy game, looks really good. I really liked the playground with a lot of different objects. Character models felt alive and cute.
I collected most of the items (2 left) but got stuck between rocks. 🥲 A way to teleport back home without restarting from scratch would be a nice addition.
I liked the puzzles with matches, they felt simple yet original.
Fixed camera angle felt frustrating at times, sometimes the player character was obstructed by other objects, or it was just difficult to see where you're going when going sideways.
@woona thank you so much for playing and for your feedback!!
A teleport back to the start is actually a really good idea to prevent little collision bugs like that from being game breaking, definitely using that for a newer version or for future jam games!
Camera angles was also definitely something on our ever growing list of things we wanted to add, but other things kept popping up higher on that list hahaha.
Cool game cool story, very cute I loved it. I can see there was a lot of love given to details: particles on the ground, feeling of the slashing anim, dandelion shader, etc... And of course the dialogs were on point ! Would love to see more !
The visuals the awesome!
Nothing like bees and poisonous mushrooms to say "happy birthday"!
Very cute. I had trouble with the beehive, it fell under the ground for a bit, and was behind/under the trampoline where I couldn't see what I was doing, buy I eventually managed to get it out of there with some random button mashing . Great voice acting!
Cute and wholesome game! The little details really make it shine, I specially liked the way the dandelions fall after you cut them. Impressive what was done in just 3 days. Hele mooie game, goed gedaan!
Cosy cute game, but burning bees hits my heart( Stacked a little for getting the last platform surrounded by water, it hidden behind tree and from camera position is not obvious. But still awesome work!
Such a sweet and relaxing game. The visuals and lighting work beautifully together, and the music creates a very calming atmosphere. Grandpa's voice was very pleasant; it gives the game a unique character. Loved how the small puzzles were simple yet original. Details like falling dandelions and soft particles brought the game to life.
It was a very touching experience. Great job! :hearts:
@custodi don't worry! Next playthrough the bees just *comb* back to life ;)
Wow, that's really impressive work in such a short time, well done!
Ah! I started playing this game again today, and there is a huge bug! You can get stuck at the innermost rock and cannot get out at all.
I also cannot rotate the camera, which leaves me helpless. In addition, honeycombs are very hard to obtain. I stood at the very edge of the trampoline trying to reach them, but I couldn't.
@yibirabbit007 thank you for your feedback! I'll see if I can make a post jam version!
Such a wholesome game! I really loved the dialogues, I teared up a bit...
The little details are really great too: the vfx, the dandelions texture, the jump sound, and overall interaction with the world
It looks pretty cool, I really like that you've gone for stylised graphics. It's a nice idea - pixelisation filter for 3D - but I guess it could use some more work. Pixels kinda jump around a lot and their size isn't consistent. Some textures (e.g. brick behind where the grandpa sits) are blurred, while others (e.g. the board with items to collect) aren't. You should probably play with viewport/texture filtering, I guess (?) It's probably a complicated thing, so of course I would't expect this to be fleshed out in a jam game anyway.
When it comes to gameplay, I really liked that item you picked up were impacting your movement - like picking dandelions that made you fall slowly or hive being heavy. And while it was a nice and chill game, I still felt like walking back to grandpa with each item separately was slightly boring. It would probably work better if you could pick up multiple items and bring them in batches or something.
Audio was pretty nice, I didn't expect a voiceover in ludum dare tbh. The volume levels were a bit inconsistent though between different voices.
All in all a pretty appealing entry, good job!
Such a lovely game. You definely put a lot of heart into this. Unfortunately, I encountered a collision bug where I was permanently stuck in the trunk of the southernmost tree, but other than that: Bijzonder knap gedaan!
Well that was almost excessively cute. The game has a few rough edges but makes up for them in charm. Even though I don't speak Dutch to know what the smaller voice lines was saying, having native voices was a nice touch - very gezellig.
Picking up an item can be a little finicky, it goes out of reach too easily and the button prompt stays open for a short time, so it feels like a bug when it doesn't actually pick it up. The camera should probably have some sort of physics to avoid going through walls and hills.
The graphics are quite original, evoking early PS1 games with basic texture work and low res rendering. Was the framerate choppy on purpose? That lent it some extra realism.
Of course the one item Opa didn't ask us to get, but probably should have, was pants.
Incredibly cute game, did feel really bizarre to hear my native language in a ludum dare game though haha, the voice acting did add a lot of charm that most other LD games lack and the graphics felt incredibly nostalgic.
The graphics, level design and gameplay are absolutely the highlight of this one. Personally I would've liked if the intro was either shorter or done during gameplay. I don't have much time per game so having to idle and listen as the dialogue goes on without any significance to the task / gameplay is excessive. The audio was quite loud, even with jam preparation for loud audio (cut windows audio by half), but it also could be because the audio is extremely jagged and not necessarily loud.
Also not quite sure what "Made from the beginning except" means? Were some textures or past assets used or what? Because the rules state: "**You’re free to use 3rd party Artwork/Music/Audio assets, or assets you previously created, but we ask that you OPT-OUT of the respected voting categories (Graphics, Audio). You can opt-out of a voting category when you submit your game.**"
Loved the look! Also really nice use of the fire mechanics to collect the rare flowers. Loved the dialogue, although I didn't understood a word xD Nice Job overall!
What an adorable little game!! I loved the concept of seeing the world as a little kid and having to do quests as a knight for your grandpa. I adore how the knight comes back excited holding a new thing every time you come back! You absolutely nailed the mood. I do wish the pixel art filter wasn't so heavy handed, since it makes things look messy, like the board with the things you need to collect, and doesn't particularly look that good. But I quickly got over that and the game won me over!
Incredibly wholesome and nostalgic! It really made me feel warm and fuzzy inside, remembering the good times I had as a kid during sleepovers at my own opa and oma :) The voice acting was also super nice and cute. It is sounds like you were able to convince your family/families to help you with it, which is very wholesome in and of itself. The calming music and the simple but effective 3D world all fit with this atmosphere very well too.
It would have been nice to have some subtitles for the voiceacting that happened whenever you handed in items to opa. Not only because not everyone speaks Dutch, but also because the volume was a bit low at times. I think those little interactions with opa were some of the most wholesome :)
Also, another super minor, nitpicky detail is the fence that suddenly appears in your face when you walk all the way to the front. Maybe it would have been nicer if there is just an invisible wall at some point :)
Heel erg goed gedaan! Ik heb jullie spel echt met veel plezier gespeeld :D
Adorable :)
This is just too adorable!! Completely in line with the theme! The music is also extremely pleasant to listen to.
This is such a cute entry. It feels like the kind of adventures you'd imagine as a child. So full of imagination. I love the voice acting of opa and the knight.
This game is delightful, I love how small the knight was compared to everything else
Well this just very cute game. Cute Idea and very creative and nice game.
Almost forgot to play your game since I saw your post 3weeks ago x). It delivered ! Very cute and awesome voice acting ! The fact that each time we got Opa something triggered a line or two was a great touch that I almost understood since your language has a lot in common with german but not quite so it was a strange cute experience haha. Perfectly scoped and produced great piece of work for a gamejam congrats !
