LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

Drunken Quest for the One Vodka by eemmbbeerr 2015-04-21T15:07:00

Fiendishly complicated and elaborate, I'm impressed. Very much a complete rogue-like. The combat was a little bit crazy from the start, I would have rather fought with each type of unit on its own before seeing the whole lot. My main gripe is the amounts of booze though. Great that it's metric, but an average swimming pool has less than 10 m3. I prefer to consume my alcohol in litres :)

TOIL by Luthwyhn 2015-04-26T04:07:00

I think you've answered your own question. To make your wage-slave hell life interesting, just contract a rare form of muscular dystrophy that makes holding your arm still in front of you an exciting daily challenge. This was suprisingly fun

Sociokar by Krunoslav 2015-04-21T15:25:00

I like the artwork. At no point could I actually move with WASD, guess it's more about talking to people anyway though. So I gathered I was supposed to give them what their affinity is, before they run out of patience. Couldn't understand what I lose by giving them say, gold, my inventory was always still at one.

Anyway I like the idea of negotiation as an unconventional weapon. I think this would play a lot better if more time available and bugs tidied up. Does something happen at the end?
Foofanoo is now a friend of you.

Sociokar by Krunoslav 2015-04-21T15:32:00

Moving working after a reload. Cool scrolling effect, I like it.

HYPER DELUX BINGO QUEST STORY by 23 2015-04-21T16:44:00

Is this a common variant of bingo or did you make it up? Either way I'm impressed, nice implementation or nice idea. It has the whole 'wait for your number to come up' luck, but still gives you some strategy options. Actually very fun. Pretty graphics too.

Any reason why it had to be z instead of space or something? I couldn't see the bottom bit with the instructions so spend ages trying to figure out how to press select.

Grief by mantis 2015-04-21T16:57:00

Slickly tuned and playable. Good to have lots of levels, worth the playtesting to make sure.

It is amazing how much the Super Meat Boy 'feel' came out. But this is fine, there were games much like this before SMB anyway. To me the innovation of SMB was the 'watch all your deaths' thing at the end of each level.

LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

Pete and the Beanstalk by SeriousCreeper 2015-12-15T07:56:00

Yep, very solid game.

Space Research Team by pinion 2015-12-14T09:13:00

Didn't play with a friend but i liked the idea. Nice sound and graphics and actually pretty fun. I thought that too many colours kept coming up when i got one wrong, took ages to clear after making a mistake.

I must say, the claim 'you are scientists' didn't come through, its about shooting bad guys.

PINGROW by junt74 2015-12-14T09:24:00

At first I was annoyed that growing tall didn't give me any advantages, then i saw the score skyrocketing. Then i thought it was cute that he can't jump very high when tall. In general, it's pretty hard.

Planet Gaiardian by GodsBoss 2015-12-14T08:59:00

Nice graphics and good that there were lots of levels. I found it a bit confusing at first, not clear whether i was using a item or not. The random sound didn't help, wasn't sure whether something was working or not.

Trump Buttons Incorporated by FloatingGhost 2016-01-02T02:47:00

Great to see another flavour of game. This is certainly a challenging genre to do in a jam and especially hard for people to get.

I liked working against a fickle market and trying things to see if they help, very fitting to the stock markets theme.

I didn't understand for a while that you have to click to buy or sell the surplus stock. They don't look like buttons. Also, you should have each slider 'above' its button to make logical top to bottom workflow: adjust slider and click to sell/buy. I also wish they didn't reset to 1 after each transaction.

A bit weird having the ability to change the outputs of each button all the way up to spending all your money in one turn. This made the production sliders always move on their own as their upper limits increased.

I don't think it was at all lacking in tutorial and pretty easy to understand what to do. There wasn't much you could have taken out to improve simplicity. It could greatly benefit from a bit of interface fixing-up. Anyway, solid effort.

Trump Buttons Incorporated by FloatingGhost 2016-01-02T10:40:00

OMG I only just got the 'two buttons' theme use. Classic.

Growing Ties by drludos 2015-12-28T01:19:00

Wonderful. I love a man with a long torso.

Shroom's by tuben999 2015-12-14T09:44:00

Very pretty and slick movement. I wish i would move when i was on a moving platform. Also getting null reference exceptions.

Major Tom by OberynMartell 2015-12-23T08:25:00

It's games like this that make me keep doing LD. Nice job.

Knight vs. Mage by Thembi 2015-12-14T11:05:00

Very playable. I could see everything on screen and it seemed to respond fine. Wasn't sure what to do with the green arrow. Would have liked a small break when i managed to kill each guy.

Santa Claus Down by SuperChihuahua 2015-12-14T09:35:00

Very nice looking game and the physics felt realistic. The sound started to grate though.

Droplet by madcoil 2015-12-14T09:49:00

Very impressive, nice job.

Car Train by Duobix 2015-12-14T10:02:00

Dude, that is really nauseating. The controls move the rest of the world instead of the car (but also the car a bit).

Anyways, good use of the tried-and-true 'avoid things you can't see' genre. I giggled when i joined onto another car for the first time.

Back on Earth by anael 2015-12-14T10:11:00

Very nice artwork. Hope that something happens if you leave the game running for 1 and a half hours.

Colony XG-29 by juxipolo 2015-12-21T11:10:00

This was very fun and I genuinely played more than half and hour.
some genuine 'metagame' stories at play here:
my airport got destroyed by an alien one turn before I discovered oil and was able to build an oilwell to supply my airport with oil to launch a tacjet to kill the alien.

wasn't sure about networks halving maintenance costs, is this buildings that use copper/oil etc and does it change what the building says it's using?
+ unhappiness - happiness?

Yggshroom by Ghen 2015-12-14T10:20:00

Yeah that was certainly fun and well balanced. I really wanted to grow that mushroom. Couldn't work out where it was at the start though.

Trick Shot by RadMcCool 2015-12-14T11:25:00

The bouncing bomb was cute. Sometimes my cannonball didn't come out for a little while. I didn't understand the colours until you said below, but is that needed? Can't you tell you've got it right because you hit?

Peon by Stanleys_Stoop 2015-12-14T09:56:00

I felt that the mini games used only one button.

Zombie Hammer-Smash Acrobatics by Khamekaze 2015-12-14T11:14:00

Brutal, i liked the flow when i was bouncing and smashing but heavy penalty of time for dying. I wish i had a few health bars or something instead of one hit death. Music and studio groans were good.

Puzzlerun by velddev 2015-12-14T10:58:00

Is it waiting for me to enter moves while the countdown goes ? Could use some more explanation.

Jail Jammers by Cyranh 2015-12-14T10:27:00

Really cool and new idea. It felt too slow at first, but you can actually decide which guy to move more easily to checkmate the guards. I love that there was a story/intro and i actually laughed.

Confession: I didn't get very far.

Switchies by SwitchTeam 2015-12-29T10:41:00

Like the idea. The second world first level is much too hard, i tried for ages and only made the first jump/switch once.

Micro Danmaku by makiki99 2015-12-14T11:17:00

I don't think this boss is hard enough. I noticed there were several small areas on the screen that didn't have bullets in them.

Choo Choo by Madball 2016-01-03T02:16:00

Very fun and cool. You could have made some enemies or just places where you crash, but that would probably have reduced the simple fun-ness of the game. There was something soothing about watching the little carriages whip around the curves.
