Good concept of puzzle/Tetris and fighting. Nice entry!
Genuinely interesting gameplay mechanic and really fun when you get the hang of it
I caught a Mingorg and Shredray!
Very high-quality game. Are there different-coloured variants after the first 3 creatures or did I get unlucky finding them?
@void4 there are rare shiny versions for all 8 of our creatures, definitely let us know if you find any
I did find a shiny!
Alright, before I say anything critical, I just want to say that I would lose hours playing an expanded version of this concept.
The art is spot on, the music is fine, but the core gameplay loop is wonderful. I do think that it could offer a bit more friction during the selection time.
That's all I can say though. Fantastic work.
The art is fantastic and the soundtrack is good. The gameplay loop is wonderful and has a lot of potential. I like the little bits of lore for each creature collected it adds to their personality and the game. Overall fantastic game.
This was really cool - I could see this being built out into its own expanded concept for sure!
The only thing that I found a little bit frustrating (and this might have just been me not understanding the rules) was the way that each creature had their shapes made available seemingly at random - I never felt like I could look at an enemy board and immediately know how I wanted to respond to it; instead, I had to do a lot of trial-and-error while looking at my creature's current available moves. This might just be a skill issue though, as I have a notoriously poor memory, and could not keep track of which creatures could use which shapes 😅
I've never played anything like this before, and it's really well done - Good work! :)
Nice game, interesting idea! I think I find the best strategy, just place the runes in opposite corners :) Screenshot_2.jpg
Your game is super fun!I have never played a mix of overlay puzzles with cute critters.Your team has done an amazing job.
Very original, well done team! I ended up playing more than I expected. I'd definitely be interested in a more developed version of this: rotating the runes, throw in some special abilities, amp up the difficulty... now we're talkin'!
Awesome idea and great implementation - one of the best entries I played on this jam - well done :) It would be great to see more mechanics from different creatures working together - right now it is a great start for something more complex later on to add synergies and more challenging fights with probably creature upgrades and so on.
Great work on the jam. Its a really interesting take on the theme with the puzzles placement being a really unique way to represent the combat. The spinning thing on the game board is very distracting and feels like unnecessary clutter. The creature designs are really nicely done, and makes the whole experience more fun capturing them. The lore descriptions are also pretty fun. I feel like the the UI could have a bit more overall visual polish. Overall a fun game and a great entry.
Like the concept of this game a lot. Super smart. UI design nicely done. The characters are beautiful made and music and sound effects really ad to to total gamelay. Keep this up.
Really good game!.
tried opening the tutorial before playing the game, had a heart attack, started playing, "hey this is easy! and fun!" anyways good game!!
It is a really creative game.
This is a very interesting battle system! I got really worn out after the fifth exploration or so, though. :( There didn't seem to be any end in sight and I kept doing the same thing over and over, so I had to wrap it up.
I like the creature designs... Orbuncle is a fave.
I had a lot of fun with this game! Very polished!
I love how cute some of the monsters were, made me really want to find all of them :) Also really interesting battle system.
Really cool game, I got sucked into it
Pretty cool! I loved the creature designs. While placing a rune I wished it would snap a preview so I could see exactly where it would drop (when it's unclear, and just to make it easier to place). I managed to find all but one of the creatures before it started feeling too repetitive. It seemed like my creatures were leveling up as they fought, which is really cool, but I didn't notice until I had multiple of one creature type and the HP changed - just a tiny message somewhere saying "Orbuncle gained 3 HP" would have been great for giving some progress feedback. Also, "Orbuncle" is a great creature .
That was really cool. An interesting combat and the creature designs were fun. I did run into this annoying bug that caused me to stop playing. Screenshot_20251017_113654.png That overlay appeared when placing it one battle and never went away again. Interestingly I could still pick up and move it during the battle round it appeared in but after that it was just stuck there permanently.
There were a couple creatures I did not acquire, but I kept getting many duplicates which always fight with the same patterns which got a bit repetitive. Really nice entry though. Great job!
Very cool battle mechanic to switch up the usual collectable fighter gameplay. Appreciated the the in-game tutorial to start off also. Since the fighting is kind of a puzzle game, some of the fights felt a little same-y, but still a very good system to create within a gamejam limit.
Wow you made such a mechanically sound fighting game work in 72 Hours. Great job!
I also thought of making an creature collector type game but decided it would be too big of a scope. So congrats to you for actually doing it!
this game is so awesome like wow. one of the only games i enjoyed this jam <3<3<3
Amazing work! It’s super interesting and has a vert unique way to paraphrase the theme, good job! And welcome to give our game a try! :)
