I really like the artwork and music! However, there is no way of logically figuring out that second puzzle. If there was some way of actually figuring it out, it would be a nice puzzle.

I really like the artwork and music! However, there is no way of logically figuring out that second puzzle. If there was some way of actually figuring it out, it would be a nice puzzle.
Really fantastic entry! The writing was very good and I enjoyed the humor in it. There were a number of times where I expected things to get dark, like the robot would have turned on me. I actually hadn't expected the ending that was there and I enjoyed it more because of that. Great art as well. I think the only thing it was missing was some ambient sound or music in the background when you're trying to find the relic. Very nice work!
This was very lacking in the gameplay and design departments. You can't be attacked and there is not explicit win state, just an implicit one when you kill all of the chickens. But after you kill all the chickensSo, that doesn't leave any challenge to me as a player. Also, the combat mechanics were pretty unsatisfactory because you have to wait for a chicken to land (which takes a while) before you can attack it again, which just makes the combat slow and repetitive. The graphics were nice and I enjoyed the chicken zombie moan (though it got repetitive fast). It definitely could have used some music.
I hope I don't sound mean, because I don't intend to. I just personally appreciate constructive criticism so I like to give it when I can.
Really great entry! I enjoyed this a lot! Everything is fantastic, including the art, music, controls, mechanics, and design. I think one of my favorite things about this is that the shield actually protects you and you are left defenseless when you attack. It's such a nice mechanic with good risk/reward. I have a couple of small criticisms but they pale in comparison what is good about this game. Those criticisms are:
1) It's hard to tell what actually kills those birds. The first couple took a ton of hits to kill and the last one I killed took just one hit. I'm not sure what exactly killed them.
2) It could have used some sort of transition or better indicator when you died. The sudden jump to a black screen was a bit jarring.
3) The music has a bit of silence at the end of the clip before it loops again. It was pretty noticeable to me.
Like I said though, those were incredibly minor complaints and what is great about this entry far outweighs those. Awesome work!
I'm not sure what else to say besides the fact that the art is great, music is awesome, the mechanic is original, and it's really fun to play! This is an awesome entry. Fantastic work!
I like the general idea of this, it's pretty original. However, it seemed next to impossible to avoid the obstacles and making the origami brings the action to a complete halt. The graphics looked good though!
I played this solo, so it wasn't too interesting. However, I could see this being pretty fun and a bit of a clusterfuck (in a good way) with multiple people. Very nice art as well!
I loved it! Very nice work! Original idea with good execution. I enjoyed the artwork as well!
Very awesome game! I like the take on the theme and the execution is great! There's some good puzzle solving and "a-ha!" moments. Plus the graphics and sound are good as well. Nice work!
I really enjoyed this! Very simple but there's something satisfying about going around, collecting candy and smashing pinatas. Also, the artwork is fantastic! It's very colorful, cute, and I like that you took the time to make sprites for moving diagonally. I really wish there was music, that would make this so much better. Still, very nice work!
Nice work! I normally am not big on fart humor but the sounds and the reactions of the pedestrians and meeting members was cracking me up! The game itself is pretty fun! It wasn't super hard but challenging enough. I really enjoyed the music, it was very well done. The art itself was rough and not very animated but it had a certain charm to it that is appealing. The one thing I really didn't like though was starting all the way from the beginning when you die. Nice work!
Very nice work. It controlled very well, nice mechanics and there is some good level design here. I would say that level 3 is it a bit out of place on the difficulty curve and might have better served as the last level. Overall though, very nice work!
Wow, this was really great! Very nice artwork, great music, fun and interesting gameplay mechanics. Seriously, really fantastic job you guys! I'd say that the only complaint I have is that it doesn't quite fit with the theme imo, but that's really about it. This is very impressive for a LD entry!
I enjoyed this! I love the visuals and audio, and the enemies were pretty interesting. The gameplay could have used something more to it because it ends up feeling just a bit random hitting the buttons. I wasn't entirely clear on what the damage rating and the background color meant either. This probably could have used a bit of explanation for those things. Still, very aesthetically pleasing and some nice ideas here!
Very cool game! I enjoyed the artwork and the very weird "arrows" you can get. The game controlled perfectly as well. I would say that my only major complaint is that I really didn't like sound of the enemies dying, it sounded like a dog being hurt.
Very cool game! I like the mechanic and the various "tapes" you can get as weapons. There are some great puzzles in there as well. The music was awesome and I loved the switching of the music when using different tapes. I also enjoyed the art. It was giving me a slight Jet Set Radio vibe. Very nice work!
Overall, very nice work! I really like the artwork and some of the level design. The audio was lacking but that's perfectly understandable given the circumstance of it being a game jam.
I'd say my only real criticism is that the controls felt a bit hard to control. I seemed to move or jump farther than I intend to and things felt a bit slippery, where I wouldn't stop quite where I wanted to. This in combination with the precise jumps and movements in some of those rooms made this game challenging.
Still, overall, very impressive work! Good job!
Very nice game! I found that I got hooked and I'm a bit disappointed that's over. I can definitely see this being expanded upon. It'd be really cool if you took some inspiration from Dustforce on this one, with big levels where you never touch the ground. Very nice work all around!
I like the idea of this game and with some work, it could be very cool. At the moment, it's pretty rough around the edges. It's very hard to control much of what is going on in the game. It seemed like the best strategy was to just place a beacon on the yellow spot and hope some blue guys would be attracted to it. There wasn't much strategy or control otherwise. There also wasn't much of a way to make sure my blue guys turned red. I think if you took this idea and gave the player some more control and interesting choices, it'd make for a cool game.
Awesome game! There is some really cool mechanics at play here that can lead to fun, interesting, and sometimes tense situations. I love how anything you do costs blood have to keep that it mind at all times. The game controlled very well too. I also really enjoyed the art style, which is simple yet stylish and very effective and telling you everything you need to know. Very nice work!
I really like the idea of this! It's definitely an original idea with lots of potential. I also enjoyed the artwork. I only got to try by myself, so I had trouble. That said, it seemed like there were a number of times where I couldn't throw the frisbee but no indication that I shouldn't have been able to. It seemed like I just couldn't throw it.
It'd be cool if you worked further on this idea. I could see there being a lot of potential with it. Nice work!
That was fucking awesome! Fantastic music (and music choices) and great artwork. It could've used a cursor of some sorts because it was a little hard to aim but still very enjoyable.
Nice work! I liked the take on the theme and the artwork! I have a couple critiques though: 1) I think restarting a level shouldn't count as a death because landing your plane right on those buttons is very difficult. 2) The platforming controls could use a little work, I fell to my death on seemingly simple jumps several times due to the controls. Still, nice work!
I think there's a basis for a pretty cool game here. It definitely wasn't too bad. There are few things that irked me about it though: 1) The art had inconsistent pixel size, which made everything seem like it didn't together, 2) some of the combos were difficult to pull of (like the uppercut into a punch). I think something about the controls could be changed to make it more fluid. Despite that, like I said, I think it's a basis for a cool game. I also enjoyed the intro. Nice work!
I really enjoyed just about everything except for the sheer lack of an objective. The sounds were nice (though more sounds for shooting or when projectiles hit something would be nice) and I enjoyed the graphics. The controls took me a minute to get used to but once I did, I really enjoyed them. This thing just needs some objective of some sort. The lack of an objective makes this a pretty shallow experience.
I really enjoyed this one! Flying around was enjoyable, the art was fantastic and the music was very good and fitting. I got the "Helping, infinite perching, and friends" ending, which was pretty rewarding to figure out. Very nice work!
Pretty neat game! I like the concept and it controls pretty well. The art is a bit rough but there is a lot of personality there that makes up for it. Here are some things about it that could be improved:
1) It's pretty much impossible to enemy's attack. Your attacks seemed to stop their attacks but because you have to wait a long time before each attack, sometimes you just can't avoid being hit.
2) There should be some sort of health pickups. Especially since you have to start from the beginning every time you die.
Overall, pretty good job!
Not too much there, obviously, but the graphics and the audio are outstanding! I look forward to seeing more!
This is pretty confusing. I don't seem to have very much control over what happens. All I know is when the green skull hits the red face, I win. But at the second level, all of those characters moved about randomly.
I really enjoy those graphics! Nice, cartoony, and stylized. The movement felt nice as well. I wish you could jump a little higher, it was kind of hard to nail those jumps. Still, very nice work!
This artwork is really fantastic! It looks incredible, especially for a LD entry. I also like using the crayons to climb walls (reminds me of Quack Shot). A couple of things: 1) The gameplay and movement could be a little faster because it feels like you move too slowly and 2) maybe this is just me, but the music seems off key and I didn't care for it too much. Still, very awesome work overall!
This is a very nice entry! Tons of polish and tons of juice. There are some very interesting mechanics. I love the art style and the music is fantastic. It also controls very nicely!
I would say that the only thing it's really lacking is some sort of challenge other than trying to get the least amount of time and clicks. Some ideas to add some challenge: 1) Player only gets a certain number of warps per level. That could vary per level and give it kind of puzzle feel. 2) Put things in the game that when you hit them, you have to restart the level. Perhaps those could move and you have to dodge them or move carefully. 3) Each block gives you some points but getting more blocks with one charge builds up a combo multiplier which would allow you to get a better score.
Those are just some ideas that came to mind. Overall, this was a very good entry and extremely polished. Nice work!
I like this! Very nice graphics! Could use some music but it's understandable.
Really fantastic music! I love it so much! I also really enjoyed the gameplay mechanics. The enemies were a little lacking in complexity or challenge, but I still enjoyed what short time I had with it due to the great music and mechanic idea. I hope you do a post-compo version of this!
This was an interesting game. I like the idea of it. However, the gameplay is pretty lacking. All of the animations and movement are much too slow, the game could definitely be faster paced. As for the art, some of it was good and some of it could have been better. I like the art for the first enemy and some of the environment, but the player character could have used some work. Lastly, this definitely could have used some sound.
Really great work! This game has very nice artwork and a really fun mechanic! The music was awesome as well. I had a lot of fun with this one.
I have a couple criticisms, but they're very small and the work here far outweighs them. I don't know if you ran out of time or if it was an oversight, but some sort of life indicator would've been nice. The other criticism is that it is a bit hard to time out when to slow things down for specific puzzles (like when you have to move the bullet up and to the right, out of the tunnel, to the destroy the generator).
Overall, very fantastic work!
Very cool concept and very well executed! The music, graphics, and controls were great as well. Nice work!
That was definitely interesting. The fact it was made in google docs was pretty cool. I was super confused on what I was supposed to do in the beginning, despite reading that I could use a forged library card. I think this was because you called so little attention to the text which mentioned that actions were in the menu above. After I did do that though, I was still pretty confused on what I was supposed to be doing. It seemed like a lot of effort went into it but navigating it and figuring out what to do was a huge challenge.
Despite there not being too much to do in the game, I still have a lot of fun with it! The music is fantastic, the artwork wonderful, and there is tons of humor and charm. Very nice work!
I liked this! Great take on the theme and an enjoyable mechanic with some nice difficulty curve. The only part of the gameplay I have any criticism for is that sometimes a conventional and unconventional weapon wielder will overlap each other and it can be hard to grab the right weapon, but that was only a minor complaint. Also, it would have been nice if the music looped. Overall, very nice work!
Interesting idea! I like the puzzles and things that effect the rays. I don't think it quite fits the theme though. And definitely needs some sound.
Not too bad! I really like the visuals and the music! And this is a good take on theme! That said, I have a couple criticisms. I got stuck right at the beginning for a while because I couldn't figure out how to climb that wall. I got stuck again when I had to use the kite to get onto the cloud, it seems like the hit detection there is a little off or weird. Lastly, I couldn't figure out where to go on the second screen of clouds. Nice work though!
Haha, I was not expecting that! I like the general, he was pretty funny.
Very interesting idea! Could use some music and some animation though.
I thought I had left a comment on this one, but apparently I didn't.
I really enjoyed this game! The graphics are great, with the simplistic sprites combined with neat shaders. The gameplay was also very enjoyable. I was surprised with how many combinations of buttons you can hit to throw in specific directions and jump at different lengths. Some of the levels definitely had sort of a puzzle platformer feel, where I didn't know exactly what I had to do to progress. It was very rewarding though when I ended up figuring out what to do. Awesome work!
I enjoyed this take on the concept! And it had a charming graphical style. As Frenchie said, I had issues as well with shooting animals where I wanted them. Also, I wasn't too keen on the music. Overall though, nice work!
This was pretty interesting and isn't too bad for an LD entry. However, there were some issues with it.
1) It was a little confusing when missions started and ending, I couldn't tell when I was in a mission. Also, the mission complete screen should be more easily closed.
2) I like the idea of punishing players for killing civilians, however it's hard to tell them apart from the enemies and it's almost impossible not to kill them because of how much they are mixed in with the enemies. That could use some work.
3) I liked that there was music, and the music was nice, but the lack of any sound effects made this less enjoyable. I would've liked to hear some sound effects, even if they had been simple bfxr generated ones.
Overall, it was a pretty nice entry but it definitely could use some work if you plan on making a fuller version of this.
Not too bad! It's an interesting idea and has some challenge to it. I got stuck on the first room with the blue rocks though. I couldn't figure out how to get past those.
This is a pretty nice game but it's rough around the edges. I like the gameplay mechanics and there is some pretty good level design. The audio and visuals need work though. And when I got hit, I got sent all the way back to the beginning of the game instead of starting a level over.
Very creative game! Like others said, I really like the title screen. The gameplay is kind of rough around the edges because it's a bit hard to control. However, it's a very creative and original idea to control characters. I liked this a lot. Nice work!
Very nice graphics, audio, and game feel. It feels really good to hop across and that all makes it more fun. However, every jump is a leap of faith and you die very unfairly because of that. It'd be nice for there to be some way of seeing ahead.
This was a lot of fun! Seriously, it controlled very well and the design brought about some very interesting combat scenarios. I had a lot of fun with this one. I also enjoyed the music.
The only thing that could use some work is art, particularly the environment artwork. That said, it didn't hold back this game from being enjoyable in the least. Very nice work!
Hey everyone, I just wanted to say thank you to you all for you're wonderful comments! I'm super happy that all of you enjoyed it and that there were only very minor issues with the game. Thank you so much!
This is so weird in such a great way! On top of that, it's a very solid rhythm game with enough challenge! Very nice work!
Very cool game! I really enjoyed it! I don't really have any criticisms. Keep up the awesome work!
Pretty nice work! I got a score of about 1200. It proved to be challenging and there was some good combat. My main complaint was it was a bit lacking in variety. It'd be cool if you got power ups of some sort occasionally. Also, the sounds could have been better. Overall though, nice work!
It's a very neat idea and there is some potential to make this a really cool game. There were some things that could be improved: 1) It was very easy to die right away before getting a hang of the controls. Perhaps give the player a little time to adjust to the game. 2) Give the player a button to restart the game instead of having to quit out and reopen the game. 3) There could be other things in the game to vary the gameplay a bit. Still, like I said, this is a cool idea with some potential! I also enjoyed the artwork quite a bit!
Great game! Awesome take on the theme and fun to play. The controls take a bit getting used to but once you do, it's very enjoyable. The one thing I wish was that the number of people you killed counted towards your score in some way, because it's much harder to stay alive while killing people than just trying to survive. Maybe time + kills = your score? I don't know, just a thought. Good job!
Cool idea that fit the theme well. It'd be nice if there was something to vary the gameplay a bit. Also sound would've helped a bunch.
Very polished and fun game! I love the artwork and music as well! Probably my only complaint is that it doesn't fit with the theme too much, but that's really about it.
Overall, it was a pretty good entry. I really like the take on theme and it's a pretty original idea. And I really enjoyed the artwork. It was missing quite a bit of challenge though. It got a bit old after a while. Also, the music was really repetitive. I could see this being a pretty cool game if it was built upon though! If it had some more challenge and a longer, more varied music loop, it could be a pretty fun game!
This is awesome! Really great entry! Very neat mechanic that fits the theme very well. Also the music is really great! I had a hard time putting this one down!
Very cool idea! I liked the concept and the main character. The music was a silly (which I liked) but it got annoying quickly. The controls also could have probably been set up differently. It was pretty hard to control. Still, cool idea!
I like this! Good take on the theme and pretty good execution! It's pretty difficult but rewarding to figure out. I like the art as well!
I really, really like the idea of this game, but the execution could be better. I would say that the one thing that would make this game much better is if there was some type of indicator to let the player know some time before you have to press the notes (like most rhythm games). That or stick with consistent patterns that are easy to watch and mimic. A lot of the later patterns had no easy pattern to follow, making it extremely difficult to actually put in the rhythms. Unfortunately, this led me to just repeatedly pressing my number keys to get past the rhythm sections.
I definitely see a lot of potential though and I would love to see this built upon. Also, the music was really great and I love how each part added more layers to the music throughout each stage.
I enjoyed this entry! It's a cool take on mixing guitar hero with an action title. Nice music and art as well. Good job!
There is some very good gameplay here. The mechanic where platforms and enemies switch out when you kill an enemy is very cool and I could see this being used for some pretty awesome things if you were to expand on it. I also enjoyed the music a lot.
For some criticism, the art was very lacking. There was only one enemy (which I liked the design of), very simple platform graphics and not much of a background. You are probably aware of that though. Secondly, pressing the E button to hop on their head seems almost pointless. As long as you press (and hold) it once before hopping on an enemy's head, it works. I would prefer that you do away with having to press anything to kill an enemy.
Overall, there is definitely some promise here. Nice gameplay, nice controls, and a neat mechanic. Good job!
Very nice work for 3 hours! I really like the art and the music is neat. I wasn't able to get to the end because it was a bit hard to avoid the enemies. It seems like the timing could be tuned a bit more. Still, nice work!
This was a very neat idea! I enjoy the concept a lot. It was pretty difficult though.
I really like the music and the art. I think if there was some way to defend, it would make things a little more interesting to play. Nice work overall though!
I enjoyed this a lot! It's a rhythm-based Super Crate Box. It's an awesome concept and it's pretty well executed. I would say that if there was some visual cue for the rhythms you need to input on the main screen instead of off to the side, it would make this much better. Still, very nice work! Also, fantastic music!
Overall, pretty nice work. The game controls well and it has nice artwork. However, no matter what room I went in I could not progress. Some of the rooms were impossible with the weapon because the ball would not bounce back down due to a lack of ceiling and in others it was just impossible to aim correctly and avoid being hit. I didn't feel like this was difficult in a fair way. I tried five or six different rooms and could not pass any of them because of those issues.
This was enjoyable! I liked the art quite a bit, especially for the boss. I also like the introduction of the floor switches in the later half and how you used it during the boss battle.
However, some of the gameplay could use some work. The controls felt stiff and it felt like everything moved too slowly. The game could have benefited from some increased speed, especially the speed of the projectiles. Also, I got stuck here: http://i.imgur.com/D1zypMP.png I couldn't get out of that spot, I could only move back and forth slightly, so I had to restart the game.
So, it's a little rough around the edges but it looks nice and there are definitely some good ideas here. Keep it up!
Neat idea! I like the mechanic and it fits well with the theme! The audio and art could be better but under the time limit, that's totally understandable!
