LD29 — Beneath the Surface

Planet Builder by PTSnoop 2014-04-29T18:32:00

It was a good game and I had fun playing it, however I felt there could have been more variation in the planets statistics, and the game started out at a very low level. Other than that great idea and really cool take on the theme. Well done!

Behind the Bookcase by Fib 2014-04-29T18:40:00

this is a good start but needed more levels really to be fun. There's definitely room for improvement but still a great entry for your first LD. Congratulations and welcome to the club!

SURF ACE by mrhill 2014-04-29T15:44:00

Nice really fun idea, great fun to play. Maybe a few to many sharks but definitely and interesting and enjoyable concept, good job!

Cave Runner - A multi monitor game by DazKins 2014-04-29T15:07:00

Sorry, this is fixed now

Cave Runner - A multi monitor game by DazKins 2014-04-29T15:27:00

Yes, this game was very rushed at the end so many bugs like the character selection did pop up and controls were horrible I admit. Thanks for the feedback!

Cave Runner - A multi monitor game by DazKins 2014-04-29T15:30:00

There was sound, that bugged in the export unforunately :(. Thanks for the feedback!

Cave Runner - A multi monitor game by DazKins 2014-04-29T15:38:00

Yes again character selection was bugged, and there is a restart button it is R. My fault, I forgot to add this to the instructions menu, my bad. Thanks for the feedback!

Cave Runner - A multi monitor game by DazKins 2014-04-29T16:28:00

Damn, its a real shame that the 2 monitors didn't work out for everyone :(. It is optimised for 16:9 aspect ratios. I guess we should have done a bit more research before hand to test this. It is quite hard to debug all the display issues when there are only 2 PCs to test the game on! Thanks for the feedback!

Cave Runner - A multi monitor game by DazKins 2014-04-29T18:53:00

Ok, will note that down for next time. Thanks for the feedback!

I'm glad you enjoyed the level design (I didn't!). There were MANY physics bugs that were unfortunately never fixed due to the ambition and complexity of the project being on 2 screens. Thanks for the feedback!

Nether Mind by v26 2014-04-29T15:28:00

I played this in windowed mode and as far as I'm aware the game didn't work properly. I got lots of '???' in chats and I couldn't jump into other people. On the other hand, great graphics and awesome music :D.

P.S. I played the game out of the zip, so if that is what caused the issue ignore my complaints about the bugs

ASCII: Beneath the Surface by Recon 2014-04-29T16:19:00

Wow, really original idea, well done :D! Had a lot of fun playing

It's An Invasion!!! by JaR_ 2014-04-29T16:26:00

Very cool concept with some nice graphics. The audio sounded a bit didn't really suit my taste however. But that is merely down to opinion. Great work :D

Multi Mining Operation by Peni6 2014-04-29T15:49:00

This was a bit too much motherload and I think you could probably have played around with the concept a bit more. Some of the graphics didn't quite fit and the music was a bit repetitive. However, the art for the tiles was very well detailed and I'm very impressed by the multi-player aspect of the game (even though I never got to see it in action).

I think ideally try not to focus too much on multi-player since ludum dare gamesare meant to be short quick game you can play by yourself

Ben Eath the Surf Ace by lord 2014-04-29T18:53:00

WOW, is all I can say. Even though the game itself was basic and not too much fun, the sheer innovation of the project won me over. Really great idea guys, Well done!

Beneath by Stepperz 2014-04-29T18:49:00

This is a really cool game, very in depth stats and item progression for a 72 hour game. I'm a big fan of this genre and the only way I could think of improving this is more diversified enemies and a basic soundtrack. Other than that great work!

Phurby Warz III by emanb29 2014-04-29T15:22:00

An interesting concept, would have been more interesting if the phurbys moved around and you had to catch them, and having the level randomly generate I think would be a cool feature aswell. The music however was really great, and the artistic design on the main character looked good, however I would have hoped to see the phurbys drawn as actual creatures not just circles. Maybe next time spend a little bit less time on the music (which was awesome :D)

iRiS by Kuchalu 2014-04-29T18:37:00

Really cool, I'm a big fan of audio and music based interaction games like this! However, the controls didn't always seem to work and thus it was hard to score which made it frustrating to play. Still great job though!

Drowning in Problems by Notch 2014-04-29T19:47:00

Really interesting innovation, not sure how this fits in with the theme to much though. Still, great job!

Subway Tycoon by metjm 2014-04-29T16:00:00

Just tabbed out for a second to comment because I'm having so much fun with this :D. Ok, the graphics aren't great and there are no sounds but the rest is great. Awesome simulation and awesome idea, well done!
