I love the survival theme!
I like the background tune. Art style is awesome.
Lots of fun! Need to stop playing now, so I can rate some other games... but I can't :P
Awesome game, gets heart heart rate up!
Brilliant! Well done!!
It's kinda difficult to know what beats what, but I do think there's something there.
Also wasn't fond of the separate battle screen, that could have just happened on the same screen you roll on.
Also found the main menu very pretty :)
Unique, slightly disturbing... nice job :D
Really great artwork there man! I didn't enjoy the mechanic that much, but good job on making something.
I didn't understand why you could back dash but then not slash again.
Confused the hell out of me :P Nice job
That does have a very cool atmosphere, nice work!
Hey guys and gals,
Thanks for all the great comments and all the great crits!
@Elrobo: We'll definitely have the option in future versions.
@intripoon, @NateNaterson: Thanks! We did drop the ball slightly at the 11th hour by forgetting to include the tutorial level in the final build, the web player does have it though.
@bowlercaptain, @BarrensZepplin: Unfortunately we didn't have time to add the victory condition, basically it's when you have unlocked all the platforms with totems on them. We will also be adding a bit more in the way of menus, options, etc. ie. front-end, in a future release.
@lorancou, @OrangeeZ: We do need a smoother difficulty curve, for sure!
@zkenshin: Colour changing crosshair was actually in the plan, but it got lost in the chaos! I'm sure we'll add it in later though ;)
@angelk, @Zed, @Orni, @someone, @fysx, @Ray_Mickelino, @MinionStudios, @DaanVanYperen, @Sylvain.p, @GranaDa, @lightsoda: Thanks for all the compliments! We really want to take this idea further, add more of the crazier ideas we had and make it a well rounded experience.
Again guys and gals, thanks so much for all the positive C&C, it is so awesome to have our brief labour of love received so well by our peers, it definitely stokes our fires and we hope to take the mechanics of RGBA as far as it deserves!
Thanks!
Very fun game.
Unfortunately I couldn't figure out how to play, the interface was really confusing and there wasn't feed back when I was clicking on things so wasn't sure what else to do.
Those blocks look so cooool! I wanna physically pick them up! :) I would also like a download link.
couldn't play the game because of missing MSVCR71.dll
unfortunate.
Can't get onto a game... waiting for a connection :(
pretty darn funny! pitch shifted voices are awesome!
Well done on getting it out in such a short amount of time.
This is a cool idea! I don't like the time limitation on it though, seems like the game will play better without the restriction on the time. Otherwise, looks and plays awesomely.
Good job
super fun, amazing graphics, good effort for 72 hours. I don't think there was enough contrast in what was a platform and the background. Good job.
menu looked amazing, but the gameplay is lacking, wasn't sure where the challenge lies because I spam spacebar and win everytime.
The mechanic wasn't obvious, the graphics are funny.
Brilliant! freeking awesome, super fun. Simple and elegant, got not critique. I really like the bobble effect when you hit an obstacle. well done.
really need to have jumping grace time in platforming. Otherwise I felt it was kinda disappointed that nothing happens after you get the world, I was expecting somekind of feedback, but after collecting the world nothing happens.
I like the smallness of the window it has some charm to it.
I didn't like the sensitivity of the mouse and felt that the strafing was a bit slow in comparison to the forward walking speed. The audio was a turn off for me, maybe give audio options to mute the sound, I just turned my volume off. Didn't find it was very challenging. Good effort and I applaud your attempt at doing 3d for a jam, it's very tricky.
Fantastic little game man. It is a little shallow as you mentioned but it's still great. I think you guys did well on your graphic style and the mechanic is simple and intuitive, it's easy to place things and change unit modes. Good going!
Also the audio for me was top notch!
This is a really cool little game, funniest game I've played so far. Cool re playability.
cool mechanic, awesome music, cool puzzles, just needs some way of stopping your character wandering off to the start of a level if you make a mistake.
Simple idea well done. I think it's lacking some feedback when you miss a bomb, and when bombs count all the way down to 0 there should be some visual feedback like camera shake or explosions or anything really. Good job!
amazing results, well done. Seemed there's an issue where you can't kill dudes when they occupy the same spot. Did you guys think of maybe adding projectiles and blocking? maybe in version 2 :)
not very fun single player, I think it would be better if there were different rhythms you had to tap instead of just left right the whole time. maybe the first 10 meters it's lr then it's llrr, then llrllrr something like that could be more interesting
Really liked the use of colors, gameplay was pretty fun and controls responded decently but could probably do with some tweaking, for my liking anyway. Good job!
I felt that the controls were frustrating and floaty, I was expecting to have more nimble controls but then had very slow movements. It could also be more interesting opening up the range of motion, so rotating left and right. Otherwise you nailed the water effect!
That was pretty fun! good suspense building as you waiting to shoot! I'd say maybe look at adding movement like ducking jumping, could add a lot of challenge, moving target.
Interesting Idea. I liked the swinging of the sword mechanic, I didn't like that the art style was mixed, I think it could have been stronger if you didn't overlay textures on the pixel art, and also felt that the round portal zone thing didn't fit in the grass style. There's also no explanation or tutorial showing how to use your abilities or controls so felt frustrated trying to figure out what buttons to push to use skills.
felt that the controls were a little floaty, the animation sliding might have exaggerated that, maybe look into speeding the animations FPS up to match the movement speed. Also felt her gravity was a little weak. I liked the use of darkness and the match stick :) Great work on the graphics.
The theme is pretty nasty, but the game is quite interesting and challenging. Reminds me of 90s era PC platformers.
Kept feeling that jump and fire keys were swapped though.
I think the controls are really hard, the isometric doesn't lend itself well to the time pressure. That being said the graphical style is awesome.
very cool mood. Must have post jump grace in platforming! otherwise very cool effect of the black and white, quite challenging when it flips, also felt the gravity could be tweaked to be heavier.
Great game, interesting approach to strategy - destroying your own building is a nice touch. Beacon is essential!!
Cool idea, would probably work very well in mobile.
Found the camera control a bit finicky, would have liked to see more of the level at once.
Overall: Cool :)
I didn't quite understand the instructions and so when I tried killing the guys by smashing buttons I died at the 2nd fight, maybe a bug?
Controls felt really floaty, and the mouse didn't lock to the screen. otherwise I'm not sure what I was supposed to do, the win condition wasn't obvious.
This was super fun! Good job, with some polish this could become something really rad.
Just need to work on your colour harmonies, otherwise controls felt super tight.
What a novel idea! Very cool and a lot of fun to play. I do agree that the interface and variable switching stuff needs to be made a lot more intuitive, and "jumpCount" sounds a but like its tracking number of jumps - I only realized later that this was for double jumping.
What if you had a resource of some kind that you could collect in the level that allowed you to assign larger values to your variables? So you could only do that double jump, or switch to enough negative gravity once you'd collected X ram chips or whatever?
Anyway, great stuff!
Wow, what a crazy and awesome game. It's amazing that those mechanics all work together so well despite mixing so many different kinds of movement. Nice work!
Really cool idea and a lot of fun to play, but the movement could definitely use work. I ended up accidentally scooting into lava way too many times. This could be a really fun, multiple quick sessions kinda game.
I didn't like that I was looking at the top left number instead of looking at your awesome art.
Cool! after killing all the monsters on the surface I didn't know what to do after that, how to get monsters below me.
Cool pixel style, really liked the mines. Felt the movement could have done with some acceleration.
I LOVE the art style you've gone for here - really appealing environment. It was a bit confusing to work out though, and the movement felt sticky at times. Really lovely on the whole though.
This was awesome, I didn't know how to keep from dying because I had towers and sometimes the people would walk past my buildings and be fine and others not. So wasn't totally sure on what to do. Nice art style and audio was great!
Wow, really incredible mood! Nice work!
Really interesting graphical style, and a fun game to boot!
Holy crap, that last level!
This is a lot of fun, and I love how at first the mechanics seemed very straightforward, but later on you realize certain things about how best to play (like how to rotate properly instead of struggling against the wrong axis).
Great entry!
I felt that it was too difficult to time the attack, wasn't sure if it read on the click or for a duration through the attack animation.
Really awesome entry, a huge amount of fun!
Very cool idea! But I wasn't really sure what my progress was with the battle.
Really interesting and satisfying puzzles. Nicely done!
Really awesome and challenging gameplay, and a novel concept. Well done!
Really beautiful mood and visuals, well done! I thought it could've been more fun by having some kind of enemy or obstacle to watch out for, and the climbing and physics felt a bit off. All the same, I'd love to play this some more in a more complete version. Nice one!
Really awesome game! My one crit would be that the popup confirmations tend to get a bit invasive - it might be better to do something like build this into the route dragging, so that the cost of sending the particular ship shows at your cursor position and updates as you drag.
Nice work!
Well done. Felt really good playing this. I can see a lot of room for expansion on this. Good job.
Really amazing work guys! I had a lot of fun being surprised :)
So cool! Would love to try this out 2v2! :D
Really enjoyable game! It was sometimes difficult to work out which angles I was allowed to shoot at, and the buildings' relative heights. But great otherwise :)
Really good. Simple, elegant and well executed.
Ha! I could walk on the top of the screen. :P I like the idea of scaling the terrain this way, could make for some interesting angled shooting.
Interesting. I like the formations you grow into :)
A very literal interpretation of the theme - love it! Amazing work guys.
Really liked this one. Could work on some of the feedback and making the rules for moving more clear, but I enjoyed playing it a lot. Well done!
