This is just a capx file, can't you have the executable?

slimabob 2016-12-14 00:49

I'm not sure how to play this.

creativwhisper 2016-12-14 15:20

I fear that i cannot play the game as there is no executable.

bubsypoochies 2016-12-14 15:51

Ok! You've made me cry. Good graphics, lovely soundtrack and a really good (but hard) experience for sensitive players. Nice job!

matlahvi 2016-12-14 16:00

That was...wow.

I've really loved the art, and this music is simply awesome. This was a really powerful experience. Congratulations ^^

Now heads up, I'm not really a fan of "no games". I consider this more to be an interactive story than a game. Because from my understanding the choices you make don't matter? Then what is the point of a choice really?

I do think the concept and the setting are an interesting choice. Something that I've not seen explored in a videogame before. I felt a bit uncomfortable playing it. To do these actions to someone who just walked in the room combined with the disgusted face of the main character, gave a nauseous feeling.

The music really helps with the mood of the game. I would've preferred sound effects, though maybe that's for the best considering the actions you have to take :P. But in all serious that would've increased the uncomfortable feeling.

I don't really get why the main character is a bird. Maybe it's just symbolism I don't understand, but because of this I felt less related to the character and was more confused/weirded out. I've got no problem with your boss being a rhino though. I also like the idea of the customers being blank. They're just another customer. That all said, the pixelart looks great.

All in all, great job, just not my thing.

josemwarrior 2016-12-14 18:03

Your pixel style is great, and the music stands out like always. It's a good way to bring us the darkest and ugly reality. Although I miss that there was a real goal. In overall it's a solid entry. Congrats.

This was very strong. Everything about it was thought through and a lot of care went into this. I am impressed and it has a very coherent style and presentation. Difficult subject to cover and I think you have done a great job of challenging the player and raising lots of questions in their head. Very well done.

nixxor 2016-12-14 21:11

Very powerful and moving experience. Makes you feel uncomfortable which is a very unique thing in "games" and hard to achieve so well done. I really like this and it stands out as unique and thought provoking.

naca 2016-12-14 21:25

Wow, I don't know what to do with this one.

I love the game. Nice pixel art, music is superb, and what in my opinion is by far the best feature: use of the theme and the social aspect in general.

Now, I can't rate your game as long as you don't provide a jam version. The only one you link up above was uploaded about 36 hours after the jam was closed. As you may understand, it's too much time to rate it without a jam version. I usually play post-jam versions, as they tend to be just bugfixes and a bit of polish, but currently I can't confirm this for yours, I'm afraid.

That said, you've made a very good work. I'm now looking at your previous LD entries and they're pretty good too. Very different, that's why I like them. So, congrats folks :D

Another jam, another distubingly awesome game by Verz.

I'm a gameplay-first person, so I can't really give this a perfect score based on my personal taste, but you really outdone yourself with the graphics and music.

I really like the sordid mood surrounding everything in the game, but I feel as it can be developed some more for a greater impact in the user. Anyway, the game is different of what you usually see in a jam, and I like that... keep doing your own thing!

maniulo 2016-12-15 14:27

OK, no need to play other games, nothing better to be found.

simonhutchinson 2016-12-15 15:21

A very well put-together interactive experience. My usual comments include comments such as "fun!" and "nice!" but I don't think those words can appropriately describe the experience (and, of course, that's not what you were shooting for).

scorched 2016-12-15 21:14

The post version hangs for me quickly after some clicks on objects...

acuadoystudios 2016-12-16 21:49

Hey Guy,
I liked your art style and the mood.
Please go ahead and check my game (LocusLudi) nad check my Youtube (Acuadoy Studios) cause ill redo
my whole game and then you'll get all the links to updated versions of my game!

darkbloodstudios 2016-12-16 22:19

nice mood, well done!

ekilibr 2016-12-16 23:15

There is a strong message behind the actions you have to take. Thanks to the graphics the mood is powerful and the character design is full of sense. Very well done!

bobsleigh 2016-12-16 23:29

I didn't enjoy the experience. It's very repetitive and confusing. The storytelling mechanisms are not evident and I had to go through it twice to get most of the things. I would've also liked to have access to the web compo version, as the post compo should not be rated.

cjke-7777 2016-12-18 00:33

This game is obviously stunning. And the music is great and perfectly chosen. I'm not in the jam, but I'm not really sold on the idea of post-jam versions (I've seen a few people do this, not just your team), especially when it's more difficult to access the original. Just my 2c

zawdit 2016-12-18 00:36

Wasn't expecting a 'game" like this from LD, damn.

oddly-shaped-pixels 2016-12-21 14:07

Super cool mood, the music is fantastic and your pixel art great as always.
A small interactive experience, really good for what it is, congrats :D
